A sales person once suggested me to try out a sample when I was purchasing a Boss Selection. The Very next day I went to the perfume store and ordered a Givenchy Very-Irresistible. Every since then this has been my signature perfume. I’m in to my 10th bottle btw, and not even a thought of changing it Ever.

You ever notice your favorite songs don't seem to last long enough to jam to, and the second it ends you're immediately wanting a replay? Such an exotically constructed fragrance should last a lot longer than 3 hours. I did absorb a touch of coffee in there somewhere. With the mint and hazelnut in the mix however, they act as an ensemble and create something divine. Divine with a time limit of course. Patchouli and vanilla in the base for further longevity maybe? The only way to get over the short-life of Very Irresistible, is to fill a pocket sized vial and keep it at your beck and call.

Seems that most people consider this something semi-oriental chockolatty-green. I have tried this on both clothes and skin. On my clothes, i more or less concur with the above statement. On my skin, however, the frag turns into something tropically green after a while. Fresh and exotic, it seems to become lighter/fresher as time passes, the opposite of how most frags progress. Elicits complients too. Lasts a long time. Try it, maybe it has this weird/fresh (but delicious) effect on your skin too.

To put it simply, who would ever want to smell like this. It stinks !!!

Well this is a very interesting scent. At first it comes off as strong and almost offensive..but after about thrity seconds it starts to settle and you get the impression of Mocha and chocolate. Sort of reminds me of Angel Amen by Thierry Muggler with the chocolate note except here in Givenchy's thats all you smell is the mocha chocolate.... the dry down is a bit sfoter and pleasant.

I was in Ulta the other day making the sales girl in the perfume section suspicious by collecting samples of everything I've been reading about for the last three weeks on cards. (I spray only two new scents on my skin at any given time so I can really get to know them...it requires a lot of will power). ANYway, I wandered over to the Givenchy in the men's section and a whiff of something perfectly, deliciously masculine hit me. It was wafting from a trio of bottles: Pi, Very Irresistible, and Givenchy Blue Label. Alas, despite many sniffs of the coffee beans, my olfactory sensibility was totally overloaded; I just couldn't find the source. I took samples of all three, hoping to solve the puzzle later, and I'm almost positive it was Very Irresistible. Go out and get it, guys, if you want women going to great lengths to sniff you.

its funny how i thought i liked this one and actually bought a bottle for my best guy friend in july for his b'day but today while i was at Ulta sampling colognes, i decided i dont like this one very much. i wonder if our sense of smell changes or what?

Can anyone tell my the difference between Givenchy Very Irresistable and the summer version? Just want to know is the summer edition might be a little more citrusy

This fragrance smells so terrible I don't know why Givenchy produce this kind of perfume. I think when the creator create this fragrance he/she mixed everything near him/hers (including coffee,chocolate, even food). The conclusion of this fragrance is YIEKKS!!!!! It makes me headache

Top note smelled like chocolate, after dry down this scent reminded me of Gucci Envy, but a bit lighter.. I like both scents a lot so 5 stars..

It's smells very good and nothing like the samples I got in stores for some reason. One bad thing is that it does not last. The smell is completely gone within 2 hours. It's one of the shortest lasting colognes I have. Most colognes would last over 24h if sprayed on clothing.This one will not hold even 4 hours. Givenchy should really work on their formula and add MUCH more oil into it.

I have to agree with Cindy on this one. It just plain stinks. I gave my partner a sniff of a sample just to show her as I had smelt it before and thought it smelled like a fousty old museum.She wears "Very irresistable" for women which is very good She thought the men's equivalent was an aweful fragrance and was suprised how heavy it was. Wearing this would give me a headache.

Am lookin to get either Very Irresistable or Lacoste Essential.Am a ladies man so yall should help out ASAP!

when should this cologne be worn? is it an everyday thing like during the day, a night only, or a special occasion only? and how is the longevity on it

This is a fantastic fragrance, just smell it and see what you think, Personally I think its perfect, easily one of my top 20, I own a lot of good fragrances as well... Its beautiful mixture of chocolate, coffee, minty, yummy, you wont be able to stop yourself from smelling it all day on your arm!

Bravo, Givenchy! A scent to redeem yourselves from that putrid rank potion you called Insense Ultramarine. This is soft, gentle, and welcoming.

Wow - this is some scent! Anyone who simply says this smells like chocolate isn't really SMELLING it... There's certainly a mocha presence, but the combination of the cool mint and slightly citrusy notes with the hearty woody and spicy notes make this a winner! I'm relatively new to collecting colognes, but hove gotten very into it and have about a dozen good ones and what I love about this one is it is VERY UNIQUE in such a nice way. This is one I can't stop sniffing periodically. I'm noticing that many colognes by various designers seem to be knock-offs of or very similar others. E.g. - 'Onyx' by Azzaro and 'Armani' classic, while both excellent, smell almost identical after dry-down (super-Musky) 'Realities' by Curve smells exactly like Dolce & Gabbana (unmistakeable scent!) for Men but only lighter. 'Eternity Summer' for Men is the spitting-scent image of Aqua Di Gio. Those all smell great, but it's pointless to spend 40 - 70 bucks if you already have one or the other, when you can spend that money on something different. That's exactly why I love 'Very Irresistable' - it smells like NO other scent in my rapidly-growing collection. The only one that it even vaguely reminds me of is Burberry Brit (another really great one!), but this is sweeter and more citrusy whereas Brit is more on the musky side. Awesome stuff...

Pure Hershey's! It lasts, seems very well made, and is definitely unique, but not for me. It can offend!! .got two "NOs" right away while in the store from females.

Oddly unique but interesting and stylish aroma from popular Givenchy will make anyone stick out in the crowd in a positive manner.

Most unsual but highly unique selection from the designer contains an array of unique notes that add up to an aroma that just seems to work well with my chemistry.

I got this fragrance to my BF but my 16 year old son loves it as well At first spray, it reminds me of the chocolate mint Andes. The mocha softens as this fragrance becomes a more woody with the drydown. To me that occasional whiff of mint, that seems to release as they moves around, magically invigarates my senses and brings my attention back to the fragrance as a whole. It is truly wonderful. Makes me have the urge to repeatedly tell them how nice they smell....(which I do). Since it is not a 'sporty' scent, it probably isn't the typical teenage fragrance....but it's definitely not exclusively an older gentlemen fragrance as my son also gets the mmmms and aaahhs from his young friends as well.

Such an array of opinons on this one ... that's what makes life interesting, eh? This is a wonderful fragrance... my guy doesn't have a sense of smell (can you imagine not having any sinuses?)... so I pick out his fragrances. VERY IRRESISTIBLE is a winner! I could care less what the top notes are ~ bottom line -> it smells FANTASTIC on him! Gets me turned on just thinking about it!!!!!! I like Corduroy too, among *his* other favorites.

very irresistible is not the best cologne,but Givenchy is the best signature,all fragances smell better and different than others

This was the best one out of all the brands i tried at the men's fragrance section. It was either this or Issey Miyake i wanted. my bf has Kenneth Cole Black,DKNY delicious,Burberry Brit and so on. i tried to choose the one that's close to what he had been using. This isnt spicy/strong/too citrusy. it's subtle and sweet you just want to cuddle with whomever is wearing this brand. Plus, it came out this year and not alot of guys /girls are familiar with it so..better to try something new once in awhile right?

i agree with cindy and neverland: waste of money with this V.I, the only great thing is the bottle, i wish this could be great but there are just wishes, Givenchy is wrong ...

I love the design of this bottle and the green liquid inside.Before I smelled it I envisioned it on my dresser with my other fragrances.I wanted to like this so much but didnt.I had to ask myself, "Am I collecting fragrances or bottles?"I made the right choice.A better fragrance should have been put in this bottle.I like Givenchy fragrances in general but this didnt do it for me.Not awful,and it is different, but different is not always better.

This thing smells like a sweaty horrid feline who just got sprayed by Raid. The smell just sticks to you and the chicks just gag. The only type of women this cologne will attract is one without the sense of smell. Sorry Givenchy, disappointed I am......

when my boyfriend first got a sample of this cologne in his magazine, we thought it was going to smell great since its givenchi and the bottle looked really elegant. When we took that first smell, we almost gagged!!! It was way too strong, and musky. This cologne has a musky, sweaty, deep nasty chocolate smell to it. Its disgusting. If you think you can get hit on wearing this cologne, think again!!!

I hate girly, floral fragrances and would've normally never considered a men's fragrance, since to me they usually smell like a happy medium between menthol and deodorant...but GOD, this is perhaps the most alluring perfume I've ever smelled in my life. I actually went straight out and bought it after I read the description of the notes (mocha, sesame seed, mint leaf, hazelwood) because they're basically my favorite scents in the world all in one fragrance. (And girls have been hitting on me, yes). So this is my personal message to you. Spend fifty dollars on this immediately, you will not regret it, and it won't be discontinued.

i has great expectations about this frag. but its a shame, nice bottle,. thats all, just chocolate and coffee there,.. i dont want to smell that if i want a sensual fragance,.

Has some very nice woody and citrusy notes blended with the mocha that give it a nice and sensual warmth and uniqueness. One of the best new sleepers out there and Givenchy just keeps getting better and more original each time.

nose. simply stated,with notes such as mocha,grapefruit and mint (no vanilla) this should go down as a classic,well at least draw as much attention as angel a*men. big difference between the 2 is this is more complex and romantic and you will not smell like a combination of tar,chocolate and coffee all day.i like angel but this is way better and sophisticated.

Wow, one of the best i've smelled in a long time. I'm a big fan of coolwater, aqua di gio, escape, chrome, and this one is fantastic, smells like mocha and spice, i love it, very masculine.

to me vi seems like Chanel s allure, or sligthly the mania for women(original, not armanimania) only with that givenchy twist, meaning that as a fragrance it reminds me of something eatable, not sure of what exactly...lots of comments though theres got to be sth in the fragrance which makes some people sneeze or causes them allergic reactions...2 or 3 people mentioned that...so be sure before you purchase it that it suits good on you.

Great smelling, long lasting, and the wife loves it (but it unfortunately makes her sneeze from time to time). A little goes a *long* way.

I LOVE THIS NEW GIVENCHY SCENT. IT REMINDS OF A SOFTER VERSION OF A*MEN WITH THE MOCHA NOTE IN IT. THIS WILL BE A KEEPER IN MY COLLECTION FOR YEARS TO COME.

Yes it does smell very different, and smells almost like candy after an hour or so, i would wear it for all occasions.

Very...intense , very elegant, very different though sometimes it reminds me of Chanel s Allure, it is a very interesting long lasting wicked smelling and absolutely captivating fragrance. The first impression may make you feel this is an average fragrance BUT give it a try and you guys will get addicted!One of the best...at least on me

I haven't had the opportunity to test this frangrance yet, so I was hoping that someone has it but just has not posted his thoughts. Anyone?
