Believe it or not, lots of people in the fragrance world were convinced that the success of the first Amarige was due in part to the subliminal bridal-shower effect of its name. Good news: this one doesn´t smell at all like the original Amarige. Now the bad news: it is a sad little candied-fruit, candyfloss (cotton candy in the United States) and strawberry confection, a sort of dowager Vanilia that would have been too little too late even ten years ago. Go for the excellent Amarige d´Amour (if you can find it) instead.
Soooooo feminine and pretty. I just couldn't take the strength of the sister Amariage (too floral for my taste) but this is just YUMMY! Very gourmand in my oppinion. I think if you enjoy Mariage, I would suggest the following: Ghost by Tanya Sarne, Fancy by Jessica Simpson, and Flowerbomb by Victor & Rolf. I think they are all quite similar, but each is so unique. I know you have to love the vanilla/foody notes to enjoy any of these, but I am a vanillaphile, so love them all! Cheers!
Does this smell almost IDENTICAL to Flower Bomb *victor & rolf to anyone else? I really like this and my children found it soft and comforting. I think the cinnimon makes it "sexy" w/it's warmth, and it has a slight gourmond take to it to me (perhaps the spice notes) w/out feeling "foody" or vanilla sickly (and I love vanilla). I think that it may last longer on the skin than FB too, at least to my nose. A pleasent finding, considering I have never been a fan of the original. Cheers!
Love it! I was trying to vere a tad away from my typical spicy scents I love, so thought I would give this a try for summer. I was so plesantly surprised that it had all the floral notes I was searching for, but some soft "nutmegy" notes that are so warm and comforting. Try it! I don't think to many people are wearing it, so it would be a lovely signature scent.
I have had this perfume for almost 2 yrs and here's what I think of it: 1. It's a classy, long-lasting fragrance. 2. It's very different, very original I think. To describe the smell, it obviously depends on each person't chemistry, but...it's a sophisticated smell. Vanilla, maybe tuberose, a sweet and fresh smell at the same time. Not sickly sweet and the drydown is just beautiful, discreet and elegant. Definitely not "old-lady" or anything like that ;)
I just tried this one yesterday it reminds me a lot of Organza Indecence but not so ridiculously strong. I have a total love/hate thing going on with OI but I really think that I might just love this one!
I love the original Amarige and also Amarige Mariage. It's bright, sophisticated, timeless. A welcome diversion from the overly hyped youthful scents that are overly citrusy or vanilla smelling. Dries down to a subtle, spicy, fresh fragrance. Truly worth the price, another winner from Givenchy, who along with Dior and Cacherel are the best in perfumes. Very layered, and the essence of a classy French perfume. It's time to start making more scents like these and back away from the bubble-gum hipsters who think they know perfume. For any age, but probably more appealing to women 30+.
This is pleasant enough.. reminds me of Dune's drydown, sweet & vanilla w/ slight wood base, unimpressive is a good description tho. Won't miss it.
I got this one 4 Valentine's day and totally agree with a previous comment - it's sweet but absolutely not "sickening/sticky sweet", Amarige Mariage is something U can enjoy wearing every day, and it has that amazing citrus twist 2 it's formula that makes the scent smell lovely, feminine and "expensive".
I absolutely adore this fragrance. I'm a perfume fanatic and I'm forever in search of a fragrance that's sweet yet sophisticated, warm yet with a little bit of kick to it. I get so many compliments on Mariage and I when I spray it on, my mood cheers automatically. I'd highly recommended it. My only caution is that it might not be long-lasting on everyone.
This is a perfect everyday scent wherever you are. It is classy, calm, and happy!
