Very unique mysterious profound. Same line as Gucci Pour Homme but better more class, sweeter more solid more personality. Something gourmand in here. Very manly but does not smell like old men cologne. This is high class by Rochas. Can be worn 30 and up age men. Tends to suit for formal and work wearing and for cooler weather. LOVE IT!
This stuff is a very solid fragrance. For some reason, it reminds me of Gucci Pour Homme, not sure why. Both smell good and are kinda subtle on me. I am a little let down by this stuff, not the smell is good. Kinda of a classic "brown" smell - if there is such a thing. Hard to explain, but it is not light and it is not heavy, kinda inbetween. Gucci and mambo come to mind here. My first Rochas, so I am somewhat happy, but the scent is not as powerful as I had hoped. Need to spray a decent amount on to really smell the entirety of it. It does have a classy smell, and my girlfriend loves it, but a little low-key for me.
I tried this one very recently, on first spray it wasn't for me, sprayed it a couple of days later and it is fantastic! Quite sweet and woody, even has a 'tropical' edge to it. On the dry-down is doesn't altar a great deal, and for longevity is a must. It has a silky and luxurious side to it, but it's probably not for everyone - so I recommend you try this first. I am SO glad I got a big bottle of this to last me. HIGHLY recommended
For those of you that have this cologne and are willing to trade it with another cologne let me know. my e-mail address is [email protected]
I wasnt sure at first, but really like this one now. Its got a top note that is perhaps too chypre for me, but then mellows into something altogether nice. Wood, but new wood, like the other end of the spectrum of Gucci Pour Homme. You won't smell it on everyone else either... a nice plus. My guy gets loads of compliments on it too.
was looking for a woody scent. This one I wasnt sure about at first.. has kind of a sweet balsa wood scent. My husband loves it and gets loads of compliments. It also reminds me of my brother making model airplanes... you know that balsa wood smell?? Its different!
It seems that if you had to bet on just one perfume house or if you've only had enough money to buy only one bottle and not sure which it would have to be Rochas. Their men's fragrances are all wonderful PLUS they are not too common so you can be sure to stand out.
The best ever made parfume for a man! Love it, love it on my husband. Simple the best!
Hi Brian, I found the following subscription via the Internet: "LUI - 2003 Rochas(Cosmopolitan/Wella) France. Olfactive family: Woody Chypre. Olfactive description: Fresh Citrus(Petitgrain, Lemon) Aromatic Chypre Neroli Woody (Cedarwood, Patchouli) Vanillic Ambery. Perfumer: Michel Almairac." Hope this helps. LUI is a complicated fragrance with an oriental drydown. First fresh, than warm and sensual. Very special - not for everyone. Maybe you will like it. Greetings Sylvie.
when did this come out? I see alot of good reviews but I'm concered on the ingrediants. I can't picture cederwood ( which I usally only like a little bit ) combined with pachouli.
i believe that this is one of the best fragrance ever, for men.smells like nothing else.hard to describe . it must be bad advertising for not being so popular. give it a try, and post me a "thank you" message :)
I find the new fragrance LUI by Rochas (2003) very special, complicated, unique, and hard to describe. I can smell lavender in the head notes. The first sniff is breathtaking and powerful, but LUI calms down to a warm and elegant, discrete scent. Olfactive family: Woody Chypre. Olfactive description: Fresh Citrus(Petitgrain, Lemon) Aromatic Chypre Neroli Woody (Cedarwood, Patchouli) Vanillic Ambery. A classic, refined blend of aromatic woods and sweet spices. For me it's more an oriental fragrance than a chypre. Unfortunately not very long-lasting, but outstanding from mainstream fragrances and that's a plus. Perfumer:Michel Almairac.
If you like Tuscany, you'll like this one. For me it has a medicinal or petroleum quality that I find as repellent as Tuscany, and I don't understand the positive ratings for either.
Hey, this is easily the best cologne out there (I mean the new ones), is elegant, sexy and last all day.A must buy, I find it similar to Envy but sweeter
I recently purchased this on a recommendation, without having smelled it. I thought I would probably like it, as I do find Rochas fragrances appealing. On first whiff, I was disappointed. I figured this one would be relegated to the closet, like some others I've tried and didn't like. I decided to give it another go; and, discovered it was actually quite appealing. It is one of those fragrances that has to grow on you. I'm starting to like it more with each use. It is a very unique fragrance.
A striking woody oriental. Warm, complex, deep, and long-lasting. Different from anything Rochas has done before and, like all their perfumes, a class act.
all rochas products are greate and this is also very good. it is a blend for men. young boys should keep away, it reveals the power of men and has strong essense. thank you rochas
Very masculin, very strange (magic) scent. Long lasts on my skin. Good choice!
