A very good fragrance, attractive, masculine. I've had women make remarks about it at the office. Casual, not overpowering.
Not bad at all and somewhat sensuous but a bit too much emphasis on the spice which makes it unbearable if applied too much which pretty much is more than 1 spray on the neck.
ITS HORRIBLE
This has to be one of my favorite scents but the reason I only gave it a three is that it looses any scent within an hour or so. If it lasted for three or four hours it would be a keeper, as is, my first bottle will be my last.
I cannot not tell you how much I love this sight and basenotes.net. Both of these sites have been invaluable to me. I have gotten so many great scents, because of other peoples postings. I have a passion for edt's and I respect others opinions. I wish there were more sites like this, more reviews. I love it. If you look around at my postings you see the type of scents I like and don't like. It is just my opinion that is all. My top three are Ungaro III, Third Man, and Antaeus. Others may agree or disagree. To me, that is the fun of it all. I suggest basenotes to all.
jude likes dark scents? that is his thing. earl i am with you bro, this is trash but like jude says it's his opinion. that's why we check in on p.e. at least once a week right?
Earl, it seems u just follow me around these postings and try to catch me slipping up. Your right earl I gave both four stars. It seems to me, this is a perfect illustration of the problem with a five star ratings. I think it should be a ten star system. TB is a solid fragrance, it is not a five, it is above average, so I was forced to give it a four. I also gave a four to others that I have liked more and even liked less. I evaluate fragrances on not just the actual scent, I evaluate on price and "how easy is it to go," as well. The scent alone is just one factor to consider when getting a fragrance. And I am sorry my friend Earl, to actually tell me what I smell is showing some nerve on your part. TB and Ch drydown smell very very similar to me. That is my opinion, period. It does not mean it would be the same for you or others. Read some of the postings Earl, a persons body chemistry also dictates how a scent from a bottle will play out on their skin. I mean these are common sense ideas that have just seemed to slip past you. Wake up Sir, people have different opinions. You know the old saying, opinons are like _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _, everyone has one. I also think it is past time for me to stop arguing with one. Leave me alone.
This "ok" spicy scent smells nothing at all like Herrera. It also seems that you like them both about the same being that you rated both of them @ 4*s but yet you say this one is "ok" (more like 2 or 3*s). Herrera is completely bearable while this one is definitely potent!! So WHO doesn't know their colognes?!
This has a drydown similar to Herrera men. However I hesitated buying this stuff because it is just a cologne, not an edt. It does seem to last, but I am very curious as to why they made it a cologne. It is not quite as good as Herrera, but that is what I would compare it too. Overall, obviously high quality stuff, not as potent as it could be.
This seemed like it smelled better on the skin than on the clothes, but you can't help but get it on your clothes. I really don't like this type of scent; but it's all up to individual taste. To me this is the type of scent that someone ends up sitting next to me and I don't like it. Again, I really don't like it. I'd imagine that is why Tony said to keep it down to two sprays tops. That being said, I'd imagine that there is a type of woman that appreciates this on their guy, because I think I've smelled stuff like this on guys when they were on a date. Maybe it's a scent that women like more than men. Starts out interesting, but the dry down turns to sort of...soapy... swampy...I got it; like a gym locker/room. But hey, maybe chicks dig a gym locker. I suppose it would make sense.
High quality sniffing here to be sure, with that pepper/incense thing packing a unique and exotic punch, along with a bit of an arid quality to it that I am anticipating will help to keep it in check during warmer weather. Dosing is critical here I think though, with a lighter touch being key. More than a spritz or two and you will assuredly risk repelling those who this would otherwise help you to attract! p.s. maybe more geared for slightly older gents...which I am 1 of...
This one seems more aromatic and spicier. I got a sample of the second one and seems to be better. It's called Tommy Bahama Very Cool, and it's awesome! compared to this one it's more refreshing, cooler, and aquatic. Definetly a perfect choice for summer, give it a try you wont regret it!
I have yet to read the previous posts, but smelling this again its a dead ringer for Gucci Pour Homme. Someone has to feel me on this. The one spray Ive applied hours ago is still kick'n. I like this one alot better.
This stuff is not used by a lot of people. Thats a good Thing. Its sorta gives me a headache, but the Drydown is nice. Its very Mature.
I love this scent. Its a uniquely distinctive scent that smells like no other. It is clean, fresh and non-overpowering. When I wear it, I don't smell like every other guy!
I live in an island, so this stuff fits right in. This cologne is very mature and spicy and it makes the ladies go crazy. I use this stuff everyday and it does magic. BUY IT NOW!!!!
and it just sits there. again, I was fooled by the magazine sample. I only smelled it once before I lost the sample but apparently, my nose was confused because it wasn't what I was expecting. It really is not bad, if you like D&G, in my opinion, you would like it. But, it just isn't my type.
I recieved this cologne as a present. It is quite pleasent as long as you use lightly. If you put it on heavily, you will in my opinion smell like an alcoholic beverage. I cannot say that it is the best scent I have ever smelled. I will also agree with Tony. T and also state that this scent I could picture my father wearing around 10 years ago. But to be fair, I can say that it has good staying power as most heavy scents tend to. Use lightly and enjoy!
Maybe its the name, but I expected something maybe topical. I may be off the mark on the notes, but this seems full of incense which is not a desirable note for me. It has more incense than 212. The top notes dont seem present, just tons of insence or maybe its the vetiver as Tony T has stated.
Both are very uniquely spicy and equally sensual and I've received great compliments from wearing both but trying to decide if I should hold on to both bottles or give one away.
overpowering spicey peppers when 1st applied. Did not like until smelled my wrists about 1hr later. Excellent drydown! Warm and deep. Not a buy for me but if you sample it, you must let it dry!!
Hi Jerry. A popular mens' fragrance on this website but fairly unknown in general out there that has 36 posted ratings (35 perfect, 1 good) is Signature by St. Dupont located in the minis and other two sections below the fragrances tab. Sample it if you haven't already and get back to me whenever and let me know what you think. Take care.
Not sure why Barbara feels this scent is so bad. It just goes to show you how varied peoples' olfactory senses are. I have yet to read reviews on a popular scent where everyone likes it. My nose tells me this one smells an awful like Farenheight cologne. I kind of like it. The distinctiveness of the scent is easy to pick up and it lingers rather nicely. I like its spicy warmth. I always thought Farenheight was too strong, though unique.
Wow, I do not understand the favorable comments on this one...I think this is just awful! My boyfriend tried this one on and both of us hated it immediately. I thought I would love it given the notes, but hmmm....ick. Sorry.
That's the name of his new one! Can you say "CLEAN"!!! Not all that original, but pretty good none the less. I can picture myself on the islands on a breezy night wearing it! Did I mention how "CLEAN" it smells? Worth sampling.
I picked it up for my boyfriend this past weekend.. its in a clear bottle just like the original version.. smells great... he liked it... Scar :)
Not a whole lot to say about this rather impressive first-timer from TB except that it's very spicy, very woody and very sensual.
Aromatic and exotically spicy-woody blend is a warm and sexy cologne for the man of style.
This is a weaker version of Gucci Pour Homme. It is almost identical, less strong and overpowering. For sure an evening fragrance nothing casual. I prefer Gucci PH at least came out first and is the original thing.
Attractive and rather warm and spicy selection from TB grabs plenty enough attention from anybody, just be careful not to overspray.
Very very spicy and herbal scent but a fabulous and rather sensual elixir that a lot of women compliment me on whenever it's on me.
I agree that this fragrance by Tommy Bahama is along the line of Gucci Pour Homme. It's very unique. Forget those sporty and aquatic scents. Those are old stuffs. I brought this cologne to Sout East Asia, while it was during the rainy season. I love the smell of tropical rains...plus this scent of Tommy Bahama added a whole different scent that I can't even describe.
When you first put it on, you really smell the spices. But later, you start smelling like chocolate. My wife loves it. Very different
Warm and pleasing spicy-woody aroma is a decent sleeper for the time being. Hope to see more from the designer, soon.
this cologne is by far one of the great smells that indulges the younger generation. it combines the warm scents of the island and the women love it.
I think we're finally getting away from the excessively sweet fragrances of the past few years. Though TB for men is a warm woody sophisticated fragrance, you don't have to be over 35 to appreciate it. I find it similar to another new great fragrance, Gucci Pour Homme.
Awesome new fragrance from Bahama is warm, spicy and woody aroma that has gotten me plenty enough compliments from anybody I encounter.
an older more masculine scent. got a sample of this when it 1st came out and i am very dissapointed. 35 and up scent.
