Master perfumer, Jean-Paul Guerlain reinterprets his original Champs-Elysees scent to create Too Much - a youthful new spirit, a fresh frivolity and dreamlike quality that echoes the energy and spirit of the young women who wears fragrance. Too Much, a fresh, transparent scent, is a vibrant floral led by sparkling mimosa. The flacon is the same shape of its sister scent, Champs-Elysees, yet enhanced by a modern iridescent sheen.
My chemistry and many fragrances don't get along. However, I found Champs Elysees to be quite pleasing. When I discovered Too Much! I almost wondered what I had seen in the original. On me this fragrance never fails to ellict comment. It is bright, engaging, lasts... but not overpowering. Whenever I can get it, it is my go-to fragrance. I also like Anis Anis and Aqua di Parma Colonia... I would wear White Shoulders except it turns sour on me in about 10 minutes.
I've worn Too Much and Champs Elysees both. It's true that Too Much is very similar to CE but TM is somewhat fruitier and zestier, with more sparkle to it. It's an "up" spring floral fragrance. :-) If you're expecting something along the lines of one of the great/grand Guerlain classics, something to stun and amaze you, then you will be disappointed in Too Much. But, in its own right, it is a well-composed perfectly nice fragrance by a venerable house. If I were to blind test it, I would definitely be able to tell that some savoir faire went into the composition. Not that I'm an expert on such matters, but I enjoy the drydown. I don't find Too Much as fleeting as some do. It lasts a fairly long while on my skin, but it is light and pleasant - not bombshell. Would I repurchase? Probably not. ;-) But I do occasionally reach for the bottle I have and I'm usually not sorry later in the day.
This smells just about the same as the original, yet it is nice. In my opinion stick with the champs elysees if you like it, if you dont try something totally different.
Well, I wrote that Champs Elysee is a shame on Guerlain. Too Much is even worse. How on earth could Guerlain come up with such a cheap and vulgar fragrance? I have no idea at all.
This perfume is in some way close to beautiful by Estee Lauder without the cedar wood under tones on me. Heady notes of floral with a almost fresh soap smelling dry down affect on my skin. Strong at first but give it 20 minutes and you will be smelling like a bunch of delicious flowers with a crisp clean smelling dry down to it. This is a sure one for the people out there like me that love heavy floral perfumes like Beautiful by Estee Lauder. Too Much is sure not Too Expensive either. So for all the ladies out there that appreciate the beautiful scents God put on this earth. You have certainly found the Garden of Eden with this one.
I'm sorry, this stuff makes me ill!! Just my personal opinion, though!
This is something half way between Champs Elysees and Bvlgari pour Femme...Mild and aromatic, not overpowering and definitely not sexy at all.
A WONDERFUL floral, not too sweet. I wear "Miracle" in the winter; this shares the mimosa element, but is lighter, perfect for spring.
i don't wear fragrance very often until finding Too Much... i get complemented on it often
Champs Elysees! It's just a bit sheerer and ozonic.
I tend to like most Guerlain fragrances, and I like this one too. It is, however "Too Much" like its sister fragrance Champs Elysees, which I already have.
"TOO MUCH" is a one-flower fragrance (mimosa!), floral-aldehydic and very SOAPY. After I've tried it a couple of times I can't stand it. It was supposed to be transparent floral but it is very strong and irritating in a weird way!! :-(
My mom gave me a bottle of body dew (body oil--but it feels silky, dry, not greasy). Even though it is really nice, I prefer spicier fragrances and I would like to trade with someone. I really would like L'Heure Bleu. Or I can just sell it to you for $25. The bottle is full, I used it twice. E-mail [email protected]
This is a wonderful spring scent with a blend of mimosa and jasmine. While generally I do not like floral scents, this one has a delicious touch of warmness. It has an uplifting effect on me. The body dew is amazing.
Does anyone wear it?????
this is a perfect light scent....smells a bit like one of the aqua allegorias.....lovely, though..a spring scent
I like it and I'm going to buy it for Xmas (though it is more spring-type fragrance). It is light, transparent and very fine.Bergamot, mimosa flower, lilac, jasmine, narcissus, with amber and woody base notes.
Tender, discreet and very fine fragrance!
...But I would buy it for my mother - she can't stand strong scents, and almost everything is *too strong* or *too heavy* for her! In her case it could be 4 out of 5.
The idea was not bad: Guerlain wanted to make one light and uncomplicated fragrance (accent is on the tender smell of mimosa) - but it is very, very weak and so "soapy".
A fresh, very transparent scent, with a heart note of mimosa and jasmine. This is a very delicate scent, for those of you who don't like heavy oriental/spicy scents. It is not very longlasting (so keep on spraying), but it's very fine, with excellent, very wide range of body&bath products (Too Much Vital Sensation).
