Excellent product. Been purchasing this after shave for 30 years.....love it

  • CHRIS COLOGNE05/24/2008

i swear this must be eau de cologne strength, because it doesn't last longer than an hour. But the smell is wonderful. A bit like Cliniques Happy for men, and oddly similar to Adrienne Vidatinni, a women's perfume that smells fabulous! If anythnig, buy it for the cool bottle. too bad they didn't put any cubist art on it!

  • RAFAEL04/24/2008

GOOD FRAGANCE, STRONG IF YOU SPRAY LARGE AMOUNTS OF IT, ONE OF THE FAVORITES OF DAVID BOWIE, NO RECOMMENDED FOR TEENS.

  • J.RIV09/15/2007

HOLY HECK!!!... Im still learning scents but omg. I was really starting to believe that all citrius colognes smelled like Armani reincarnates but I was wrong. I have no idea what to rate this off of. I smelled it and it was like 0.o thats a new scent. To me... and this is just me... it smelled like Vanilla and like lemon or something. It didnt smell bad but it had a sort of not really a funk to it but it kinda has a pinch to it. Like if you smell it you'll be like "WHat the hells that smell?" but not ina bad way. I might buy it I havent decided yet. 4 out of 5

  • BARBARA W07/27/2007

It's really LOUD! I like rich scents, but this is a sillage monster! First impressions were not very good, but I'll give it another shot. I don't tend to like fragrances that combine citrus and vanilla - too funky.

  • SERIEL06/06/2007

I really liked this and it is different from most of the other scents out there. Very smooth & warm dry down with a mint of vanilla which women seem to love. A nice choice to add to any collection to rotate with.

  • DANIEL03/27/2007

Nothing really great about this one. Not classy and a pretty cheap smell. It's not that bad but its not the best either. Seems like there in not enough juice in it. It could be one of those cologne that you find on walmart counter. I used to like it better a few years ago.

  • HENK01/17/2007

My husband doesn't want anything else but the Minotaure. He loves it.

  • SEAN 12/04/2006

I went to the store today thinking this was going to be a great buy after reading most of the comments about this cologne but when I sampled it I couldn't get the putrid smell outta my head all day. This was by far one of the worst smelling colognes I have tried in a good while. I did however purchase Euphoria and Pi.

  • MARIO JUSTINIANI11/10/2006

Ouch! Can't win them all. I see you have the same reaction to Minotaure that I have towards Quorum. Minotaure is hard-core. Some say an herbal note protrudes and spoils it, unlike Roma, it's younger sibling. To me, it reminds me a bit of how ambergris is made. Ambergris is extremely expensive and has no smell of its own. Its virtue is that it brings out other scents, and enriches them superbly. However. ambergris is, of all things, whale vomit! Which has floated about on the sea for about ten years and then landed ashore. (No, I am NOT making this up). Dawn, much as I like Minotaure on my skin after drydown is under way, I grant you that at the start it can smell as if this particular whale has swallowed Paloma Picasso and her father's bull before regurgitating them. Ok, suggestions: Akin to The Baron there's Royal Scottish Lavender by Creed and Caron PH, but I think the best bet is the (fairly) new Gendarme 20. Other bets that are not lavender but have the same uplifting feel are Geir, Habit Rouge and Egoiste, in that order. As to Minotaure minus over the top machismo try Tuscany/Etruscan by Aramis or Sienna by Crabtree and Evelyn-- Be well. Mario.

  • MARIO JUSTINIANI09/25/2006

Olfie: There is NOTHING like Nicole Miller for Men. It's still available on this site and I suggest you get it, quick! Some people mention the fruity Roccabar by Hermes or even John Varvatos, but it would have to be on a very rainy day . . . As to the other part of your question: Minotaure is unapologetically masculine. As is Roma by Laura Biagotti. Yes, there are unisex vanilla frags that you say you want to avoid, so I wouldn't suggest Jaipur, no matter how well blended it is. Though if your friend owes you one, you might want to spray on Prada for Men or Salvador Dali Laguna-more amber than vanilla--and see if she swoons. Leaving vanilla altogether, there's Salvador by Salvador Dali (not to be confused with Salvador Dali by Salvador Dali-confused anyway? It's the bottle without the "lips") a romantic one that "feels" a bit like N.M. in the nostalgia dept, just like Geir "feels" like N.M. in the upbeat dept. Finally there are the classic masculine powerbomb nightime seducers like Antaeus by Chanel. Hope this helps. Cheers, Mario.

  • JAKE08/06/2006

Not bad, but not as good as everyone makes it out to be. The more I wear it, the less I like it. Doesn't last much more than an hour on me. Roma on the other hand...

  • DAWN05/17/2006

I've read and re-read many of Mario Justiani's posts and agreed with so many of them except this one. I can't take the scent of this. It's pungent, it's strong and overpowering. I LOVE The Baron baby but would walk a wide circle to avoid anyone with this on.

  • OLFIE NEWBIE02/20/2006

What got me interested in fragrances is Nicole Miller, when a friend bought it for her husband. And I happened to be the guinea pig she tested on. My question to you is, is there a similar fragrance out there to Nicole Miller's, now that it has been discontinued? Or can you suggest any good fragrances with Vanilla as one of its notes? But it has to be a clearly masculine fragrance, not those borderline examples. I wonder if Minotaure is similar but I can't find it in my area. Thanks guys.

  • WES CLEMENS02/14/2006

I always stick out in the crowd when I wear this rather sharp citric/vanilla fragrance that has very good lasting power........just be careful not to overspray.

  • MARIO JUSTINIANI02/05/2006

I don't doubt RJ for a moment, so 'most websites' must be nuts. This is a fuull bodied oriental and the last word would occur to me in describing it would be " casual. " (I wouldn't even dream of describing Laura Baigotti's Roma as 'casual'-- a scent that is close, but lighter than Minotaure) This is for evenings, esp evening dates--not business meetings. As to season, Autumn or Winter. In any case, Minotaure Rocks! And its longevity is amazing as well.

  • DOUG E.01/23/2006

This smells like terrible at first. I was very dissapointed until the dry-down. After that is is great and longlasting.

  • R.J.01/20/2006

MOST OF THE WEBSITES THAT HAVE THIS COLOGNE SAYS THAT IT IS A CASUAL, DAYTIME SCENT THAT IS BEST WORN IN THE SPRING, SUMMER, AND FALL. HOWEVER, IT SEEMS STRONG ENOUGH TO WEAR AT NIGHT PARTICULARLY IN THE SPRING AND SUMMER MONTHS. IF I WERE YOU, I WOULD TRY IT DURING THE COURSE OF ANY DAY AND SEE FOR YOURSELF. TAKE CARE.

  • JOEUSMC01/18/2006

I don't want to get anyones hopes down, it's a great scent and all and if you can buy it and know it's not an imatation or that it's not stale and it doesn't lack projection, please let me know where you bought it from. I contacted a site in europe that emailed me back saying this product has been discontinued, so enjoy this scent while you still can!!!!!!! :-(

  • ANTHONY01/08/2006

hey everyone. just wondering if there is a specific season or specific time of day to wear this great cologne. thnx for the feedback

  • JOEUSMC12/22/2005

This smells great, don't get me wrong, but doesn't smell a litle in the realm of Le Male by JPG. I sprayed the two on paper and both smelled equally the same with le male being a tad bit more powerful

  • RMJ12/21/2005

After all these wonderful reviews i went to try Minotaure, and believe me i was suprised. I had the same reaction as Nikita...It seriously smelled like some cheap Avon perfume you found in your grandparents' attic that was opened 20+ years ago and sat up there...It was actually painfully sharp to my nose and i sure didn't smell any citrus or vanilla... However, i'm not totally decided on this one. I'm guessing maybe the Minotaure i sampled was too old and had gone bad. This is a real possibility, as the owner of the perfume shop i went to regularly opens cologne bottles and tries them and puts them back on the shelf to sit for however long until someone buys it (sometimes years he said...). In the future i'm planning on probably buying a mini of it to make sure what i was smelling wasn't what it's supposed to smell like. I'll be able to post a real review then. Until then, i recommend you try this before you buy it.

  • CAMERONTHECONAISSEUR12/11/2005

It is the BEST EVER--- nothing like it out there, absolutely nothing and it lasts long!

  • MICK F.12/11/2005

Sharp and nicely powered citrus fragrance with a pleasant vanilla base to end it. Every cologne collector should have this fabulous and long-lasting scent in their arsenal.

  • Z.G. ARCHIBALD11/17/2005

Great name, fabulous cologne. Long-lasting, nicely powered and very original..........nothing like it!

  • P.T. STOCTOROCTON11/04/2005

This is the only cologne from this designer that I've heard of, at least for men anyways. It starts out pretty sharp with a burst of citrus and ends with a luscious vanilla.........yummy!!

  • JAYNISTER11/04/2005

this cologne is soo smooth...that people can't help but to compliment you...

  • N2DBLU10/30/2005

Great powering citrus and vanilla with a neat bottle designed to go with it.

  • VICTOR RICHLAND CREIGHTON III10/11/2005

Nothing short of amazing. This citrusy/vanilla aroma is very bold, masculine and sexy and everybody that's close by always compliments.

  • BALZAC10/09/2005

A unique man's fragrance. I can't think of anything else out there that smells like Minotaure. It's sweet but without the dominant vanilla accent (Pi, Cristobal, etc.) of many of the better EDTs on the market. I'm not saying it's for everyone, but it works for me.

  • IDA09/24/2005

Ahhhrg!! Weare this perfume and you have a big chans to make out... *flirt*

  • K. WIMPINO09/12/2005

A one-hit-wonder as far as mens' fragrances from rather unknown designer Paloma Picasso. This sensational scent is bursting with citrus and florals and drys down with a nice warm vanilla which I love the best. Well worth the money and should be a part of any cologne fanatic's collection.

  • RN09/05/2005

Minotaure is a strong, long lasting oriental. To me it smells a lot like vanilla, and reminds me a lot of Opium. It's great, really unique, long lasting and pleasant.

  • MATT TURNER08/13/2005

Almost reminds me a little of "Le Male," by Jean Paul Gaultier (my old favorite), but a little more masculine. This cologne is amazing. Unique, yet wonderful smell, and every guy in the locker room isn't bathing in it. If you want your own smell, try this. (Picked up a 2.5oz for $34 + shipping, money well spent.) My new favorite among my collection of 16 colognes. Amazing.

  • KENNETH V. RICHELIEU07/21/2005

Classic & modern at the same time, now that's something that you don't smell too often in a cologne. Great orange & vanilla aroma!

  • NIKITA 07/13/2005

What? I can't believe someone recommend this. I mean what? Is there something in the drydown? Smells like one of my mom's expired perfumes from the 80's and that's giving it credit.

  • MARIO JUSTINIANI07/02/2005

Could have sworn I posted on this one before. Hmm...perhaps a Freudian slip ?--I only thought I posted but really didn't because I wanted all the women to myself? Damn the competition! :) Easily a 5 star cologne, a sexy oriental, hypnotic scent that avoids being sweet/cloying. It is bold yet undeniably elegant. This is the heavy artillery. Among the top 4 in my collection. Wonderfully ruthless . . .

  • JASE06/18/2005

    best aftershave iv'e ever brought

  • TONY T05/24/2005

kenneth cole reaction's board but left this out. please don't shoot me great oriental scent that is not sweet and very long lasting. for it to come out in 92 why is it so high priced. elegant top notch stuff. i have the mini but hate it cause you have to pour it on not spray..

  • MICHEL04/02/2005

Minotaure is one of a kind. One of the best men's fragrances available.

  • GDL03/05/2005

Like others have said, it's hard to find Minotaure, but it's well worth searching for. Completely original. Has a warm, spicy, dessert like quality. Delicious and enticing.

  • LINCOLN07/04/2004

Been using this cologne for about ten years now. With my experience it smells better the longer you wear it

  • ROB H.06/10/2004

A very good attention-getter, however if it's a little too sharp for some guys then try Handsome by Tova.

  • V.N.06/06/2004

This fragrance is just perfect, it makes me fly....it´s the best!!!

  • JEFF04/24/2004

Very good oriental, but it unfortunately turns sour on me after about an hour. Not sure if it is me or the colongne, but I don't have that problem with others, so I can only assume it is something in Minotaure.

  • DA RUSSIAN04/17/2004

This is some good stuff, NOTHING smells anything like this cologne... top notch! my girlfriend couldn't keep her hands off me, so I need to take it easy with this one :) jk

  • TOMMY. A.04/15/2004

Very nice scent - quite exciting and warm. Hard to find though...

  • W.B.03/31/2004

FOR YOUR INFORMATION, THIS SMELLS LIKE NO OF THE FRAGRANCES YOU MENTIONED, ALTHOUGH THEY ARE GREAT SCENTS. IT IS REMINISCENT OF ROMA BY LAURA BIAGOTTI, BUT LIGHTER. WHEN YOU TRY IT, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED AT ALL. WELL WORTH YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

  • DA RUSSIAN03/22/2004

I have alot of colognes, and i don't want to buy anything equal. So i was just wondering if this stuff smells anything like Dreamer by Versace, DG, or Rochas Men... help would be appriciated.

  • R.J.01/05/2004

THIS STUFF IS SO GOOD IT SHOULD BE A FIXTURE ON THE TOP TEN LIST. I HAVE SAMPLED THE WHOLE LIST AND NOTHING ON THAT BOARD REALLY COMPARES TO THIS. I GUESS TO EACH IS OWN.

  • RYAN FROM CURACAO10/27/2003

Nothing comes close to this. A lot of fragrances smell very much the same these days. They lack originality but I still can't find anything like Minotaure. Along with Quasar, Presence by Mont Blanc, Eternity or Desire by Dunhill it's one of the best out there. A Winner !

  • JODEE07/30/2003

This cologne has been worth me hunting for it for over 6 years. It is very hard to find. The best ever!!!!

  • KHALED06/21/2003

    E X C E L L E N T

  • REX06/19/2003

Lets say it together CLOYING! Ewww

  • DAVE06/07/2003

This one is a winner... Long lasting, strong (but not overly so) scent that has a nice spiciness to it. Highly recomended.

  • MAURICIO05/21/2003

Despite the fact that this is an old cologne ( one of my first favorites ), it is still an exclusive product whit an enigmatic sweet touch; I find it similar to Rome from L. Biagiotti

  • J.R.04/25/2003

Of the dozens of fragrances I have tried in recent years this is the best. Potent and lasting. Very unique, incense like. For me, well worth the extra $'s.

  • ALBERT03/30/2003

The only man's cologne I look for every time I find myself in the perfume department, very hard to find. It's an exquisite scent, to me it always smells vanilla-like when I first wear it then fades into a subtle black pepper undertone... definitley a sensual scent that always gets the question "what's that your wearing?"

  • BB12/23/2002

this stuff is like honey to a bee. the dry down is to die for. this is how a man should smell. sophisticated, classy, self assured. wow.

  • DONELLE10/27/2002

David Bowie uses this cologne so you know it's gotta be good!

  • VANGELIS PAPADOPOULOS09/02/2002

This one is great, smells like candy according to women and blossomes after a while (1-2 hours)

  • ERIC07/18/2002

This reminds me of Roma Uomo. Very rich fragrance. Definitely not for teens, this is a grown up, sensual fragrance.

  • LULU04/30/2002

My son loves it! very incensey his lady friends Love it too!

  • MO03/25/2002

warm buttery smell to me! It very nice a must have.

  • CSONGI11/21/2001

This is an excellent perfume, it's very strong and gets stronger when your body heats up, the girls just adored. Better to use summertime!
