My First time buying Casran i Was in Puerto Rico summer of 2002. and ever since i kee a bottle . i get alot of comments .females always ask me what am i wearing and when i tell themit's Casran they never heard of it . even my girlfriend loves the smell of it

I think a woman could pull it off - it's soft and powdery. But if you want something that a woman could easily pull off try Gendarme (the original one for men) which smells fresh and clean which many say smells like fresh clean linen swaying in the breeze). It's wonderful! I purchased Casran once and found it just a little too powdery for my tastes. I would try it before purchasing. But Gendarme is a win-win situation.

This sounds yummy! I love Casmir. Could Casran work for a woman? I don't mind a little testosterone in my fragrances. ;-)

This is my favorite scent, but I'd suggest buying the smaller size, this turned rancid after about 2/12-3 yrs. on the shelf.

Real good spicy/ambery evening sleeper is very original and has some good staying power. Complimented fairly well by the ladies.

Although the notes would suggest a heavy oriental, Casran is a surprisingly light ambery scent with mouthwatering dry fruits, tempered by my favourite spices and bright woods. It may not work for some in scorching heat, but it is easily an all-year-round fragrance. I love it!

My first time ever sampling a cologne from this designer and not bad at all. Rather spicy, fruity and very ambery fragrance is most definite for evening use but there are better evening colognes that the women will savor more than likely.

to roma but not as heavy.subtle ok at best to me, not being a hater but i only have the sampler and can barely detect it. prunes, dates,rum and cherries are different in a cologne and made me at least sample casran but i will pass. not as spicy or fruity either as others mentioned.

This spicy and unusually fruity evening wear fragrance could be a bit better if it weren't for the dates and prunes which bring down the scent. Otherwise pretty good and fairly sensual.

Warm, deep and mysterious spicy/fruity evening-wear fragrance is a seductive wonder among romantic-type fragrances and is unknown to most which I have absolutely no problem with.

I have to agree with Victor in that Casran will put many a woman to sleep. It's powdery fragrance makes you want to nod out and become unconscious. Not that it's funky to smell it's just not a favorite of mine. That's why everyone is different I suppose. Enjoy your Casran and I'll enjoy something else.

Wonderful spicy evening fragrance is fruity with some sensual woods added. Works very well also for romantic wear and is a definite sleeper to the women.

A definite evening sleeper and I really adore the bottle design. This sensuous oriental/ambery fragrance is bursting with fruity and spicy notes and I agree with Rob H. that is does remind me a bit of LPH but is more masculine and a lot less youthful.

I just received it, and I was impressed by its unique smell. The fragrance lasts and smells wonderful. Reminds me a lot of Burberry Brit for women, but it's much lighter and it's for men.

Yes Pierre, the scent lasts very well. It's a subtle scent to begin with, but has staying power. This stuff is great, but very very complex and sophisticated. Not for everyone.

i never smelt it before thinking of ordering it, as I never smelled it before, I wanted to know if it lasts long??, last long like joop, or jaipur??

THIS STUFF BLOWS POLO BLUE OUT OF THE WATER. WHOEVER SAID IT RESEMBLED POLO BLUE MUST'VE HAD SINUS TROUBLE AT THE TIME. IT REALLY ROCKS.

This is the best!!! Casran and Polo blue???? What??? Polo blue is so ordianry. Everything on the market smells like Polo Blue when Casran has that little sweet touch that makes it special.

This isn't so good I wrote previously. I used it for a period of time. Too sweet.

If you smell this and then take a nose break & refresh yer nose and ten seconds later you smell "Polo Blue" by Polo, you get invited into a much more fresh, cleaner, sophisticated, and in my opinion, just plain BETTER scent than Casran. I have both colognes and did this experiment. Polo Blue is much more crisp and has a sense of 'elegance' to it, whereas Casran smells a little too much like an overdone cologne with a 'glade' air freshner scent to it..

I think it is a perfume for women, for women it smells wonderful.

Guys, I am afraid to say that CASRAN SMELLS woman. I have a girl friend who uses it and I fell in love with that parfum thinking that It was a girl parfum. I am very sorry guys but for women it is excellent, because it is very femenine, sweet and fresh...But not for guys

This one is a very good scent indeed. It is very subtle and smells very much like licorice to me. I would say it is similar to Memoire d'Homme (although not completely by a long stretch). The licorice note plays a more prominent role here, and it Casran is classier in my opinion. Out of the two, I prefer Casran.

This scent is recommended for spring/summer use. Well, I noticed last fall that I didn't like this as much as I used to, so I concluded that I must've gotten a bad bottle or an old one - that its shelf-life had expired. Now that spring's here, it smells great again. My point is this: Casran DOES smell better in warmer weather. Much better. Those of you who didn't care for it, try it again. I used to mock the fragrance pundits who claim that scents smell better in certain months. I must say, they were absolutely correct.

how could you take this underground classic and compare it to that garbage Lolita Lempicka is beyond me. Oh they do not sell this at any mall I've been to or even a fragrance shop. Obviously you can get it here but makes me wonder why this isn't in every store. It's the bomb.

Damion I hope it lives up to your expectations too. I had great expectations reading the posts until I actually got it. I gave it to someone else. I think there is anise or something in it that I can't handle, like in Lolita Lempicka. I wouldn't never eat licorice and i don't wanna wear it. But good luck to you. That was funny people posting on this site and asking where they could get the fragrance when it is sold here. People are amazing.

...buy Casran. It's simply amazing. Hidden gem. Everything out there like Hugo, Calvin, Tommy, ,Lacoste, Ralph are soo commercial. Everyoane smells the same. There's no originality. But this...ooohhh. Women ADORE it too. SIMPLY AMAZING!

Having read all these overwhelmingly complementing reviews on Chopard's Casran, I thought to myself: hey, you have to get this. BIG MISTAKE. Being busy and overloaded with work I didn't have time to pop into my local perfume store. That's why I ordered it online. ANOTHER BIG MISTAKE. Man, this stuff gives me headaches. It reminds me of some stuff at the dentist's, can't remember what. This is DEFINITELY NOT classy. I don't really want to put people of who like it, but for e this stuff reeks... (sorry, that's the way I fell about that matter :-). If you're after something classy try Hugo Boss - Baldessarini or Lacoste pour homme (sadly that's not on sale here...). These two fragrances have earned themselves the right to be called class and sophisticated. If you don't believe me, bear this in mind: If you're out to get Casran: try it first before you buy it. Or maybe you'll end up like me, under the shower :-(((

CHOPARD IS FAMOUS FOR THE JEWELS AND SOME GOOD LADIES PERFUMES AND CASRAN IS THE ONLY ONE FOR MEN. IGOT IT AND SEEMS THAT WOMEN LOVE IT. GOOD LUCK

Very good, exotic scent. Probably similar to Best of Chevignon but mainly this is a unique fragrance and far better than Chevignon one. I recommand that.

The most futile thing is to try to describe this scent. It's one of those ethereal things that words can't describe. It's mysterious and mesmerizing. It's warm, yet clean and refreshing. Totally unique. If you have an addictive personality, do not buy this. You'll lock yourself in a room and do nothing but smell it. I see the highest rating this can receive is five bells. Well, this breaks the rating scale as far as I'm concerned. I see it has gotten some negative feedback which to me is incomprehensible. If you like classy and sophisticated, you'll love it. If you prefer cheap and tawdry, you probably won't.

Awesome.I got a mini one of these and I must say it is one sharp cologne. I unique oriental that is very complex and also seems to last a long time.

I can't tell you how many times I've been asked "What is that wonderful scent you are wearing?"

When I smelled Rochas Man for the first time, I thought to myself, "This is the best; it can't be beat". Well, I was wrong. This is just a little bit better. I can't begin to describe this one, it's just so unique. It's clean, the bergamot note is pronounced. The high notes of licorice and rum are just heaven. I also believe there's Moroccan Geranium in this very complex and unmistakable cologne. Winter or summer, casual or formal, this is the ultimate scent.

A very unique scent that is very different like nothing else out their. Never over whelming nor not very light either.
