Hi Charlotte, I agree with you. There is a similarity to Coco by Chanel, but I have to say that FENDI smells better and has a lot more power and staying power!!! Coco is for me a soft and cosy "FENDI Light". Fendi is categorized as a chypre but I can smell spicy cinnamon and delicious fruity plum in this controversial discussed fragrance. I think it's a cross between a leathery chypre and an oriental!! Here a description: 1985 Fendi Italy. Olfactive family: Chypre.
Olfactive description: Chypre Rose Jasmine Ylang-Ylang Spicy Patchouli Sandalwood Musky Ambery Leathery. Remarks:FiFi Winner. - "Description for Coco by Chanel: Coco 1984 Chanel France.
Olfactive family: Oriental Spicy.
Olfactive description: Fruity Floral Spicy Oriental Balsamic Powdery Woody." They mentioned no leather in COCO but I can smell this subtle leather note too. COCO is no typical oriental! It's very popular but not every woman can wear it with success. The same with Fendi:-))).
Best wishes, Sylvie.
