  • SALVATORE CANNIZZARO01/02/2013

A big thank you for getting this special gift to the UK in time for Christmas for my wife. She loves this perfume but I have been unable to obtain it in the Uk. The scent evokes romantic memories of our lovely time on the beautiful island of Sicily, where I was born. She adhores the perfume for its own unique fragrance, the fact it also has special memories is a bonus!.

  • GENADIJS02/23/2012

Sicily is a favorite fragrance of my wife. Feels honey, banana, orange blossom. It is very beautiful, gentle, warm, feminine fragrance.

  • CAROL ANN11/28/2011

I absolutely love this perfume - going by reviews on other sites I'm not alone - why have Dolce & Gabanna discontinued this line

  • MARIANNE08/26/2011

I just love this perfume and I have many. Nothing smells as wonderful as this. Everytime I wear this scent I am asked what it is and I am very very disappointed to say they dont make this anymore.I hope that you can find 1 more bottle.....

  • JUDI W*05/14/2009

I use a similar technique when a scent is too much on the nose, but I don't go as far down as you, I just put it on my wrists & arms. I only wear pants, so that wouldn't work for me...lol...

Business is business. "Sicily" by D&G days are numbered. Long gone are the great eras of the classic perfume houses and their "noses". The summer season of Chanels, Patous and Guerlains proud fields of naturally grown "Absolu Jasmine de Grasse de France", or "Rose de Mai absolu" in Provence... but synthetic concoctions are the new, inexpensive way to imitate what once was a rare authentic display of art . All of these real essences used in Guerlains "Samsara" or Chanels "No 19"...and countless of other high class perfumes, hopefully will not be compromised with. The "haute couture" houses dignity lies as much in this liquid form of "couture" I myself have smelt the extract of real "Absolu jasmine de Grasse". Some things are beyond words, and the scent of French jasmine absolu is one of them. I doubt I will ever smell anything so lush again. It was magic. It reached into the cave of my heart..And the sample is still as strong as ever, and with it - closing my eyes - angels embrace me.. Jacques Guerlains "Shalimar" from 1925 , Jean Patous "Joy", Ernest Beaux´s "No 5" , Edmond Roudnitskas "Femme", Lanvins "Arpège", Nina Riccis "L´Air du Temps"... These took decades of hard work to create. A century of complex masterpieces.. and the highest skills of true craftmanship. I pray that the younger generation will discover these true perfumes, and of course other classics, because they are the real thing. They are like bright stars in the midnight sky - not like a flashlight - by comparison of most of the new breeds of perfume weed. You will not find real essences of flowers, rhizomes, wooden or other fixatives in the plethora of todays synthetic cheap scents - paying most attention and all the money on advertising. The modern industry are not at all concerned about quality or memory nostalgia. The concept of every new scent, is a dragonfly short life of a season or two. More than 300 new scents are launched every year, and as a result - yesterdays scents are destined to cease to exist. I recommend you all further studies in the art and history of perfumery. It´s truly a mesmerizing journey to the Pantheon for those interested.

  • SAM10/08/2008

I have always loved perfume and have drifted from scent to scent getting bored easily. I can truly say I cannot imagine every getting bored with this one and i have never had so many comments from both men and women just how wonderful i smell when I'm wearing it! Grab it while you can

  • SHERRY08/31/2008

I love this perfume. I dressed for Halloween with wig, makeup, veil, etc.. so that no one would recognize me. When I walked by someone said.."Hi Sherry".. I know you by your perfume. You always smell so good. I cannot buy it in Rochester, only online..so.. Here I am .. buying it.. *

  • SSDNC05/18/2008

I want to like this but it's just too much. Too heavily sweet and kind of cheap smelling. Thinking of trying Light Blue since I'm probably the last woman in the world to try it yet!

  • SHARON05/12/2008

I tried this a few years ago and liked it, but I would get nauseous immediately after applying it. The smell was overpoweringly sweet and cloying. So, now a few years later and I forgot what it was like and sprayed it on at the mall. Wrong move. I got that queasy feeling. I guess it's just not for me obviously!

  • DOTTIE MASCARO03/07/2008

My bottle only shows Dolce&Gabbana and no name of the perfume. I have use 2 large bottles and 1 small bottle and am told it is no longer made and unable to obtain.

  • WOODWILDWOMAN02/25/2008

I received a mini-bottle of this perfume when making a large purchase at a major department store and from the first try, I was in love with it! I am a woman who demands nothing but the best in perfumes and Sicily ranked high on my list. I will continue to purchase this perfume along with my other favorites as it adds a nice change now and then.

  • SANDRA02/04/2008

I had to take a shower to get rid of the smell. It would not mellow out. Stayed super strong. Very overwhelming. Men hate this kind of scents.

  • BARBARA W05/22/2007

When you're wearing a dress or skirt, try spraying just the back of your knees with strong fragrances like this one. I do that with Opium and it works beautifully...just enough to scent the air around you without being a full blown assault on the nose. :-)

  • LOULOU03/15/2007

...than a day on a Sicilian beach; there is a pulsating heat and humidity combo, that reminds me of baking in the sun on a grassy hillside. There is also a hint of unexpected freshness to it--similar to lounging poolside, in the sun. While many have found some of "Sicily's" notes soapy or sharp, to me, they read as velvety or "clean, cotton shirt-on-skin-in-the sun" kind of fresh. This scent is not for everyone but it retains and exotic, charming appeal and will always stand out as unusual against its cloudier peers.

  • FRANGIPANI02/22/2007

This is the most delicious, gorgeous, lovely scent ever. It's the only perfume that has made me want to have several bottles on the go at once - I have one in each room in the house and one in my handbag. I just love it and cannot bear to be far from a bottle of this wonderful fragrance.

  • BIANCA01/18/2007

This does not smell like human sweat! It is a very lovely Italian perfume that smells luxurious and classy--better than those new overly candy scents marketed to teen girls these days. A real woman wears this type of scent.

  • MS. WADE11/16/2006

A wonderful, clean fragrance. I love it and am on my third bottle.

  • GISELLE11/04/2006

I like it ... it smells like an expensive, sophisticated soap bar. I can smell the citrusy bergamots on top and something more luxurious underneath. My boyfriend, however, hates it and thinks it smells like "ants", lol!

  • SYLVIE10/01/2006

SICILY is a very floral-sweet D&G fragrance full of honey-power and ultra long-lasting. If you like the smell of honey, banana, heliotrope, vanilla, and exquisite soap this fragrance is for you. The trick is to use it in very, very small amounts!!! Can't understand why some women find Sicily not long-lasting enough. For my nose it's extreme heavy and strong! If you apply this fragrance with a light hand, it smells great and whispers: Come closer ;-). If you use too much the result is: YUCK!!! Sicily smells similar to the red, classic D&G fragrance, but much, much sweeter. Very concentrated sweet stuff and not for every women.

  • MIL09/22/2006

I got it and passed it to my aunt and she said it smells good when you first put it on but the smell does not last very long at all.

  • LISA08/18/2006

an okay scent...this smells exactly like original oil of olay body wash...try it...you'll see!

  • GREEKGIRL06/19/2006

Hi there, i dont think you have a bad bottle cos to me too it does not last very long unfortunately, you could try layering it , this helps a little, but i cannot give it up cos i like it so much, in my top ten, bye for now, Helen.

  • JANETHLU06/12/2006

I absolutely LOVED it when I smelled it for the first time. I immediately bought it. When I got home I sprayed and -NO LIE- about 10 mins later... the smell was GONE! :( I was very very disappointed about it. I have always had good experiences with D&G as far as staying power but this time ... not so much. Could it be that I got a bad bottle?? Has anyone else experienced the same??? Oh btw... NOTHING like "human sweat" or "b.o." or anything gross like that. Very pretty!

  • *BARBARA W05/19/2006

This just smelled harsh on me and stung my nose. I've tried many Dolce & Gabanna perfumes and find they're just too shrill for my taste.

  • JULIA04/13/2006

This perfume smells like human sweat to me - and nothing else. Why using a deodorant and then adding artificial sweat? Doesn't make sense.

  • VANILLA03/05/2006

I liked the soft, fresh, soap like notes of the way it smelled on the card.It brought some pleasant childhood memories perhaps attached to a type of soap we were using. The notes are actually interesting and nice but everything is extremely synthesized and loaded with aldehydes. It brings to mind what is described as an old lady perfume.

  • HN02/11/2006

When I smelled it the first time as a sample in a magazine, I kept smelling it again and again. It just attracted me. Some weeks later, the memory still lingered and I had to buy it. It's different. I like the spiciness of it. And yes, it's warm n sweet too. Just a lil goes a long way, so be careful. It's different than any other I have tried! Grt for evening wear. I love its presence in my collection.

  • MAGGIE02/04/2006

i love the way this smells on my sister... she smells like a real princess from a fairy tale :) She is also quite the Diva but she smells like one when she wears her Deep Red or her Lolita. Socily is gentle on her and makes her smell soft and feathery like a dove :)

  • KATHIE12/16/2005

i bought this without trying it first and it was a big mistake. i have the big bottle and the smell gives me a headache. has very cheap, heavy floral scent. dont buy this one!!

  • KALILA11/10/2005

Sicily by Dolce & Gabbana is an intensely alluring scent with the sensuality and the warmth of the Mediterranean . Notes include Sicilian Bergamot, Honeysuckle, Jasmine, Black Pearl Rose, Hibiscus, Heliotrope, Sandalwood, Musk.

  • GINA09/09/2005

I love fragrances and have lots of different ones (about 50 ) this is most definately one of the best. It's a good floral, but also spicey. Great combination!!

  • YANA08/31/2005

I loved the tester, but when I bought it, it smelled completely different and I just couldn't stand it. Bad luck, cause I really wanted to wear it.

  • SYLVIA08/17/2005

I bought this online without smelling it first thinking, "You can't go wrong with Dolce & Gabbana" Especially since I liked "Light Blue". I was wrong. This perfume smells awful. It smells exactly like "Sunflowers" by Elizabeth Arden. The scent is strong and is reminiscent of a cheap dollar store perfume. Don't waste your money on this one ladies.

  • CIMA08/09/2005

This perfume is really nice, it's very classy and doesn't smell like all the other perfumes. It's warm, sunny, classy and very feminine. Sicily is so special, the best for me!!!

  • MOE07/29/2005

This perfume is really "classy". sweet, warm, comforting! Just georgeous.

  • SANDRA06/13/2005

I was told by soooo many people that this perfume was sooo awesome and it was rated to be the sexiest of the year by so many men. Well, I ordered me a bottle and it is just gross, it smells like old lady's parfume, like something strong & cheapy, yuck !! Can't wear it, makes me feel sick all over.

  • YANA05/24/2005

Like every person I tried a lot of scents (vanilla, marine, flowers, woods, green tea, greens and so on) but when I became mother I was starting to search natural fragrances with not just specific scent ..a sent of baby not strong, not floral, not citrusy ..an intimate. Its Sicily!Make me feel calm..

  • REESE05/20/2005

I don't smell any floral in it, it's all coconut and a little vanilla to me. I smells like those coconute cake or cookies, i.e. something that has been added with coconut (artificial)essence because coming from asia I know the real coconut doesn't smell exactly like that either. It's wearable in the evenings I think, might be too powerful for day time.

  • V L04/15/2005

this was a must-have for this summer. you've got to try it if you haven't

  • NATHALIE04/14/2005

Tried this one today. Very nice, this goes right into my fall-winter perfumes category along with the cashmere sweaters and fireplace.

  • PERFUMELOVER03/06/2005

I love Sicily. It is warm, floral and has something in it that actually reminds me of something Italian! Hard to describe! But maybe there's orange flower in it or something because I remember that smell of my (dessert) of my Italian grandmother whipping up Italian desserts..... maybe its got some of that and that's the "Italian ..... smell"? I don't know but I love it . Really nice...... a perfume that could easily become one's favorite. Very timeless.

  • TRAE03/04/2005

I bought this perfume last summer and returned it because I thought it was nothing special. Then I received a large sample a couple of weeks ago and now I can't get enough of it! I LOVE it. Even when I'm wearing something else I sniff the Sicily bottle whenever I pass it. This is the first perfume I've actually CRAVED! I love this stuff!

  • BEBE02/23/2005

suicilian delight. radiant. breathtaking. blue skies. spray me blue light. very nice/

  • LIZA02/16/2005

*Hehe*smells a bit like coconut to me,and honey and.......oh it´s just beautiful!!Much different from other fragrances och MUCH better than "Light Blue" from the same designer.

  • MARIE02/09/2005

this doesn't smell like anything I've ever smelled, and I've tried many! This perfume is better on the skin, than on clothes, by the way. It develops.

  • HISAKO02/08/2005

Once again, I tried hard to get myself into this as I like the bottle design so much. Oh well, I did not like it. It smelled like a mixture of Mariel Burani that I like and Boudoir, which I hate and something citrusy/powdery. The Boudoir like smell and powdery smell were the only I could detecte as dry-down. It does not agree with my body chem. and I did not care for it.

  • ROBIN02/05/2005

Funny. It quickly turned bad on my skin in the department store -- like rancid baby powder, just awful -- and I asked the woman at the counter if somehow it was smelling much different on me than other women. "Oh, no," she said, "it smells like that on everyone. Don't you just love it?" So, you see? It's more than chemistry, it's what you feel about the scent itself. It was so strange, her saying she adored it, and me smelling my wrist over and over after that, thinking to myself, I don't get it. I think it's awful. Ah, well, isn't it nice there are so many wonderful fragrances out there to choose from that we'll never be short of the ones we really, really love!

  • BELLE02/01/2005

the notes in this fragrance sound wonderful to me. I have never smelled this particular perfume. however I have smelled Light Blue and the regular Dolce & Gabbana femme. Light Blue is nice, but not for me and i do not care for Dolce & Gabbana femme at all. i have heard this is similar to Sensi by Georgio Armani. I don't like that one on me (too powdery). Does anyone know anything Sicily smells similar to? I appreciate any comments because it does sound really nice in the description that's given.

  • QUEENBASILIKA12/26/2004

I like this perfume but y doesn't stay in my skin a little bit more?

  • CASSANDRA JOHNSON12/24/2004

I wear many of Dolce & Gabbana scents and Sicily is very sexy. It's capitvating scent goes beyond words. It surely will keep you wanting more. Gentlemen, if you want to impress and capture a woman's heart, then you need to understand what she likes. Let's start with a signature fragrance (Sicily). You won't regret it.................................................

  • KAREN S.12/18/2004

I liked the top notes -fresh citrus like the place ( I've been!). However dry down was too sweet and honey- like for me reminds me of Boudoir at this point in the story.

  • SHARRIE12/05/2004

id travel to sicly to get sicily, awesome. a true bombshell. one of my favs. wear it to sleep.

  • JT10/26/2004

I thought it smelled interesting on the paper strip... kind of like coconut or pina colada? If I like a scent on paper, it usually goes well with my chemistry when I try it on my skin... not this time though! Sicily did not like me!

  • MIMOSA10/15/2004

I smelled it in a magazine insert and thought it was fabulous. Clean, floral, just great. But then I ordered a sample and it was completely different. There was some unpleasant metallic/b.o. undertone to it, even out of the bottle.

  • PERFUMEFANATIC10/12/2004

This is a pleasant scent but doesn't really do it for me. It smells like expensive soap.

  • KATE10/01/2004

I bought a bottle today without tasting and I am really very surprised by the smell. I like it very much. Thank you for your comments, which were really helpful for me.

  • KIM N09/15/2004

I tried this at a store recently and was pleasantly surprised! I have a hard time finding a fragrance I like and I thought this was the prettiest out of all the ones I tested that day. It didn't give me a headache! I give this one a thumbs up!

  • KRIS09/02/2004

A clean, some sort of fruit, VERY WARM, scent. The beauty of this fragrance is that it doesn't make you smell like a fruit bowl! I feel sophisticated and clean when I wear this.

  • PAZZO09/01/2004

Sensi by armani.Has the same sweet clean powdery feeling.Lasts a long time too ,both of them.french perfumers r famous world wide, but italian perfumes rock my world.Five stars for this one. Also like light blue by D & G.

  • ANNE08/30/2004

I loved this perfume, so did my sister. As usual though it started to get too sweet on me after an hour so I had to give it up. However, my sis is mad for it and she said that a stranger came up to her in a store last week and asked her what her gorgeous fragrance was! I wish I could wear it. I thought it was warm and spicy with a little citrus also.

  • STEPHANIE08/26/2004

Smells exactly like Bounce fabric softener on me. Not a bad smell but I expected much better.

  • MARIA 08/10/2004

When my boyfriend told me that he picked out perfume for me on a cruise he went on, I was a little skepticle bc I think that perfume is so personal and individual to each and every person. However, when he presented Sicily to me, I was awed and touched. This perfume is wonderful! It's light enough to wear during the day but also sexy and intimate to wear at night. It smells homey and soft yet strong enough for a strong woman like me. And the best part is that my boyfriend likes it as much as I do. My friend likes it so much that she's already planning on buying some for herself. Just give it a try! It's great!

  • CAROL08/02/2004

There is something completely unique in the warm but light smell of Sicily. It's like rain drying off rocks in the sun, an almost mineral scent. Wonderful and complex.

  • SYLVIE AGAIN...08/01/2004

I compared the "old-classic" Dolce & Gabbana Femme (in the red velvet box) with SICILY and smelt some similarity. Both scents are composed from perfumer Nathalie Lorson for Dolce & Gabbana. Classic in 1994 - SICILY in 2003. SICILY smells less complicated + "soapy", but innocent-banana-fruity-SUGAR-HONEY-tuberose sweet and warm. I think all lovers from D & G Femme Classic will also like the new SICILY very much. Both are very special and unique fragrances and not for everybody. I think I like SICILY much more because of the irresistible sweetness :-).

  • SYLVIE07/31/2004

This description I found: Oriental Floral! Olfactive description: Green Fruity(Banana) SWEET Oriental Floral(Jasmine, Rose, Hyacinth, Orange Blossom, Honeysuckle, Hibiscus) Sandalwood Musky Vanillic Heliotrope. Popular Perfumer: Nathalie Lorson! I test SICILY today and it is a very sweet + warm fragrance. I think there is a hint of tuberose in it because it reminds me a little of Blonde by Versace and Fracas by Piguet (both strong tuberose scents). But SICILY is much more complex. Fine-balanced, beautiful floral scent. I cannot smell any lemon it this sugar-sweet + warm fragrance. A new D&G classic! ***Ultra-feminine***. Enjoy.

  • MARIE07/12/2004

I did a blind test on my entire family rating all my perfumes. Sicily was one they all liked. So was Magie Noire and Romance. Chanel 19 was on the bottom!

  • SIOBHAN06/17/2004

I love oriental perfumes of most genres but I have to say that Sicily is an absolute classic fragrance. The beautiful smell of hibiscus reminde me of warmer climes. I've read all the reviews on this page and would have to say that when a perfume picks you, it is yours. Sicily is a beautiful, warm, subtle, complex, fresh, sensual and sophisticated scent made for confident women who know who they are. Truly a great perfume, subtle enough to wear everyday and not like most oriental florals. Has similar notes to 1000 by Patou and Mahora by Guerlain but most definitely unique.

  • SICILIAN06/14/2004

This is a great every day fragrance. I just got my bottle today. It smells wonderful and lasts a long time. Looking forward to trying the body products. My new every day scent - this works for all seasons.

  • PATRICIA MOTTA05/27/2004

Whatever it is they put in the formula, it smells too lemony. The strong spicy notes also make me nautious. I have a huge bottle (what was I thinking?). I wore it once and know for a fact I will never do it again. The shower gel is even worse than the EDP, since it skips the (fresher) floral notes and goes straight to the super-spicy lemoniness nightmare. That bad.

  • DIANA05/05/2004

    AMAZING SCENT

  • COLEY05/03/2004

I was given a sample of sicily and I adored the intial spray but I was not so impressed with the dry down. I wished the first spray would linger and stay.

  • VERY ALLURING03/22/2004

I bought some of this today at a very good price. Sicily wraps you in a lovely soft aura - it is very feminine and alluring, long lasting and sexy. It is definitely one of the best new releases for a few years. You'll feel like dreaming of a romantic holiday in Tuscany or some other beautiful sunny place. Highly recommend this one - please try it.

  • EXQUISITE PERFUME COLLECTOR03/16/2004

I fall for Sicily. When I first purchased Sicily I thought it would be my signature..I loved it so much.I still do.Since I'm a avid perfume collector..I can't choose just one for a signature..smiles.I would sum Sicily up as..Sophisticated,pretty,clean and very upscale.Goes great with black clothing. Not to mention Very Unique!

  • HISAKO03/14/2004

I like the name and the bottle design. I tried but it did not agree with my body chem. at all. It just like the red one and it smelled stinky as well. Yes. first note resembles to Mariella Burani but it far from it.

  • OPHELLIYA03/12/2004

I like it very much, it's warm, makes you think at a sunny day, i like the bergamot and the honeysuckle, but is too strong and gives me strong headaches.:( Ever happened to you?

  • SAM02/09/2004

I just purchased Sicily and it's amazing. It has a clean smell and the dry down leaves you smelling and feeling sexy- it smells like nothing I've ever owned before which makes it very unique.

  • FIMA01/25/2004

Sicily is so beautiful, fun, and sensual. It is rich but not over-whelming-- meant to be worn by a girl who enjoys compliments. I tried this on a little while ago and I can't wait to buy it. I am a very picky fragrance shopper and I am always on the lookout for something distinctive and Sicily is IT. This is a perfume that you will remember once you smell it.

  • SUZETTE01/15/2004

I'm a perfume collector and I have EVERYTHING, all the designer fragrances, and all the ones from the big major houses and the remote shops. I spend thousands and thousands of dollars increasing my collection yearly. This is the best perfume to come along in a decade. I thought no fragrance would ever light a candle to Mariella Burani and its lush, complex blend of all the best-smelling things, but this is some exceptionally marvelous stuff. I am now convinced that the finest perfumes, the ones that really impact the senses, come not from France, but from Italy. Go for it. If it can accomplish giving a true perfume obsessor like me the kind of rare 'high' I'm always seeking from one bottle to the next, think what it might do for you.

  • GIGI01/10/2004

What a wonderful and alluring scent! It will capture you and the one you love!

  • AMY01/10/2004

smells like lemon pledge to me or, some kind of lemon bathroom cleaner ,I love light blue D&G with its fresh juciy sent and powdry cedar dry down.. I was hopeing sisily would have this too... only smelled the perfume strip in an add need to wear it for awhile to make sure I dont like it ...

  • NEL01/05/2004

i love this fragrance so much,i hope you will have the body lotion soon. thank you.

  • LINDA01/05/2004

On me, this scent is just too soapy smelling.

  • SIOUX12/28/2003

Received a sample in my Filene's bill and tried rubbing on my wrists. Loved it and asked Santa for Sicily for Christmas. Actually tried the parfum this a.m. and just love it. Not overpowering...I think it's a great new scent!

  • MANUELA12/25/2003

I got a small vial of this as part of a present, When I first sprayed it it was very powdery, after a few hours I was hoping the powder smell would go away....NOT. I dont like this at all, reminds me of my nana.

At first i wasn't sure about this scent. It reminded me of bathroom soap. But I sprayed it on and after awhile i grew to LOVE this scent. A winner with me.

I think that this is a powerful scent, feminine, lasting, powdery, not too sweet, kind of unique,I like it.Worth to give this one a try if you like to feel different wearing this fragrance.I tried a lot of perfumes but this one seems to me that is sooooooo different.I think Monica Bellucci is a good example wearing this.Sexy!

I purchased this parfume in Italy the very day it came out and since than I've not stopped wearing it every day: it's wonderful, pretty strong at the beginning, has a very good lasting power, it's warm and "sunny" at the same time, different, very special and very Italian

Tried it some days ago.It was a "perfume test" day,so `maybe it was a litlle confused with others i tried.I think it`s a good citrus scent I couldn`t detect the jasmin scent but i remember a pleasant slighly soapy drydown .
