ALLURE PERFUME REVIEW BY "D"
I found allure years ago and first tried the edt. I and others loved it! So I also purchased the edp for lasting good smells. Have received numerous compliments on both, but most important I! love it!! I have a few fragrances I like, and switch often to wearing different ones whether it's day or night. Same old thing day after day can get boring. When wearing a perfume I believe the ultimate decision lies with the person wearing it. I love this fragrance, and have often given it as gifts, and recommended it to many. As my Granny used to say when she cooked something new "Try it, you'll like it." So spice up your life, and try this perfume it's wonderful. It can't hoit! (hurt)

Everyone has a right to their opinion, and mine is this: Allure is one of the best fragrances I've come across. To those who don't like it - the chemistry in your body is off! To those who do like it - isn't it grand? Manufique? OOlala

ALLURE PERFUME REVIEW BY JC
In the beginning there was Must de Cartier, 1981, a very successful nasty cheap-chocolate fragrance with a memorable drydown of Vanilla, Patchouli and Indole. What was remarkable about that accord, aside from its staying power, was that it achieved the exact olfactory equivalent of a dark shade of face powder. Ten years later Dune (Dior, 1991) brilliantly upended the original idea and created a wonderful, endlessly bleak fragrance the colour of desert earth under a leaden sky. Nobody at the time saw the fun in that. Illustrating the principle that it is better to be six months late than five years early, Allure (1996) borrowed the idea of Dune and reinterpreted it on a friendlier manner, with fruity-floral top notes acting as a sweetener to the basically somber message it delivers. Allure has since become the reference for women who wear fragrance not for private pleasure or to advertise their tastes but merely to signal that their status dispenses them from being pleasant.

ALLURE PERFUME REVIEW BY CHRISTINA
Because No 5 is sophisticated, No 19 is fresh and Coco is exotic, Chanel probably thought their new perfume ought to be along romantic lines, and that´s exactly what Allure turned out to be - softly feminine, enigmatic, magnetic yet quite indefinable. All you know is the moment you wear it you feel more mysterious and - alluring! Chanel`s long-time "nose" Jacques Polge created Allure so it can´t be pinned down to the usual three-layered head, heart and base formula of most good perfumes. Instead it combines all three from the very outset in overlapping layers with no single ingredient either predominating or even being instantly recognisable. And this is precisely what gives Allure its fascination. But we do get clues. Its initial freshness comes from a gentle burst of citrus, its mellowness from mandarin, its headiness from jasmine in full glory, its haunting earthiness from vetyver and bourbon vanilla, added to which is an "imaginary flower" which has been created from a subtle combination of magnolia, honeysuckle, rose and waterlily. Elegantly packaged in the Chanel chic of honey-beige and gold in a bottle not too far removed from the classic Chanel flacon, Allure was destined to succeed from its creation. It possesses the finesse and poise of all great perfumes that eventually become living legends. It doesn´t shout or announce itself, but whispers intimately in its own aura of discreet luxury. Do it justice - wear Allure, day or night, when you want to be slightly self-indulgent but enigmatically feminine. It´s also one of those rare perfumes that doesn´t put up age barriers. The Eau de Parfum version of Allure is a little different from the Eau de Toilette; the fruity accord is enriched with a note of passionfruit and the floral accord with notes of white peony.

Not as much as Guerlain's Ylang & Vanilla does, but I get that new Barbie sweet plastic drydown at the end. Still, it's a happy, comforting sort of fragrance...reminds me of baking vanilla cookies & new Barbies.
