| Blends of floral and citrus-based fragrances are recommended for casual and daywear. Spicy, woody or warm amber-based fragrances are traditionally favorites for evening and special occasions. |

Possibly worth as much as 4 stars because of its relative uniqueness but not for its inherent worth.
Mr. Valentino (yes, that's really his name) became a creator of trendy overpriced women's wear or, as they say in France---or at the stores where they push it, haute couture. His 15 minutes of skyrocketing fame came when he designed Jackie Kennedy's dress for her wedding to Onassis.
Ten years later he came out with his first perfume and in '97 the firm hired H. Freemont who created Valentino's most popular and best men's cologne: Very Valentino.
The problem with Vendetta, vintage 1991 is that it is an arid spicy and fruity and floral and--- not bad, but there's far better ones in each category and the blend, at least for me, doesn't really work . ( If it works for you, more power to you)
A base of patchouli, oakmos, musk and labdanum but top notes of verbena and neroli with a heart of lavender, clove, bay rum, geranium and jasmine?
Make that an arid fruity floral cocktail. |
