FRAGRANCE TIPS
Blends of floral and citrus-based fragrances are recommended for casual and daywear. Spicy, woody or warm amber-based fragrances are traditionally favorites for evening and special occasions.

I was interested by Mary Alice's comments about the EDT. I might try that. I'm not keen on the citrus start of this EDP, but I do love the drydown. Oddly, sometimes I feel it's too heavy and like aftershave, and other times I just find it so warm and comforting and powdery. But I do love it, and I also love the fact that it isn't one of the "it" perfumes, so I don't smell like the masses. I'm pretty individual in my style and taste and this works for me. I have always (well, for 6 years) loved L'Heue Bleue by Guerlain, but sometimes it just seems too much. I used to love Samsara, but I just can't wear it any more for some reason, without feeling a little sick. Mitsouko is great in the EDT, although doesn't last too long, but the EDP is not so good in my opinion. Actually, I gave the EDP to my boyfriend and he sometimes wears it. It's far more masculine than the EDT. So Shalimar is somewhere in between Samsara and Mitsouko for me I suppose. I think PRADA took from it when they were designing their perfume.
