| I tried Shalimar many years ago and dismissed it immediately because it was so different from the light florals that I loved. Now that I am trying to expand my tastes in fragrances, I have given Shalimar another try. It is so luxurious. On my skin, it begins very "citrusy". That initially alarmed me because, while I have tried to smell like a flower, I don't aspire to smelling like orange juice. The fruit note quickly dissipates to this rich ambery patchouli. It leaves a nice trail as I move around the house and I can double back on myself! At the same time it is not overbearing or cloying. Shalimar is pleasantly and luxuriously feminine to my nose and I'm so glad I gave it a second try. Additionally, the staying power rocks and, on my skin, that is amazing. |
