| Blends of floral and citrus-based fragrances are recommended for casual and daywear. Spicy, woody or warm amber-based fragrances are traditionally favorites for evening and special occasions. |

| MESSAGE BY APRIL |
| For over 20 years I have searched for this memorable fragrance! My mother grew up in Randleman, North Carolina and always remembered the small back bottle of perfume Mr. Story would bring home to his wife after an international shopping trip (circa 1930). As a child, my mother would tell me how Mrs. Story would enter the grand ballroom, the faint fragrance of Black Narcissus wafting in the air.
Mother is now 81 and I'm 38---and my search for the elusive perfume has ended. (I should have known to use the French spelling!) I have asked at Nieman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Belk's----but it was finally at Saks 5th Avenue that a helpful clerk suggested I search the internet for the maker of this unique scent. My mother, who is now in the clutches of Alzheimer's, has recognized this scent---which has once again provided me with the wonderful stories of her youth. The small black bottle with the white, flower-shaped stopper may be gone---but the memories this fragrance has brought back to my mother has been well worth the search. Thank goodness for the internet and on-line stores like this one! |
