GARDENIA PASSION ANNIE 04/08/2006 07:58 AM 5 out of 5 stars

MESSAGE BY ANNIE
Gardenia fragrances, no matter how lovely, never smell exactly like a live gardenia blossom to me. The original vintage Jungle Gardenia is my benchmark for true-to-gardenia fragrances, and Gardenia Passion is not like JG, though they're *distantly* related. GP is more tuberose, I believe, than solely gardenia - or rather, more of a heady floral mix than a pure gardenia fragrance, though I'm no "nose" so don't quote me. It's heady, but also fresh and greenish. It's also fairly long-lasting on me. I've been wearing GP on and off for years, whatever time of year, whenever I'm in the mood for it. Initially, I get a strange mildewy or rubbery note, but the drydown is floral and soft and really lovely. It's a romantic and feminine fragrance. I'm a floral/nature lover, so I love this and most other AG's.
