| i've smelled Exclamation, and like most of Coty's products, it is a number of things grafted onto a cheap, sweet base.
this cheap thing, though. one of the loveliest perfumes in the world is by coty: Muguet des Bois. It is a clean, delicate lily-of-the-valley scent. Ironically, of the many lily-of-the-valley scents i've tried (love lilies), Coty's Muguet des Bois ranks up on top with Dior's Lily and Guerlains Aqua Allegoria Lilia Bella. Diorissimo would be up there as well, but it is many other complex things besides lily-of-the-valley.
a cheap perfume doesn't have to be a bad perfume, just as an expensive perfume can be thoroughly ghastly, witness giorgio's Primo and Elizabeth Taylors entire line (though especially Passion). |
