FRAGRANCE TIPS
Blends of floral and citrus-based fragrances are recommended for casual and daywear. Spicy, woody or warm amber-based fragrances are traditionally favorites for evening and special occasions.

I went to the mall to find out about the new 2007 version of Allure sport; "2007 Allure Sport Cologne Sport." The woman sales clerk working at the store told me that the store was only given a limited supply of the 2007 Sport and all they had at the store were the large $75.00 bottles. I asked to sample it but the sales clerk said that the store wasn't given any samples of that one. However she did have a sample of the 2004 version; which she voluntarily sprayed on a testing card for me. By the way, the version currently being sold on this site as of today May 28, 2007 is the older, original 2004 version. The clerk said that she thought that the new 2007 Sport is similar to the original 2004 Allure Sport. So I smelled the 2004 Allure Sport on the test card, and quite honestly didn't like it...at least not on the test card. I decided against sampling it on my skin. Instead I skin tested the Eternity summer cologne; which I ultimately decided to pass on; as perhaps too one dimensional on me. For what it's worth the woman working at the store, told me that "Burberry Summer" is the big mover this year and she also said that there are a lot of summer colognes out this year. I was left with the choice to either buy Allure 2007 blindly as an arguably rare limited edition, or wait and see if I can sample it at another store. Having sampled so many fragrances, I have learned to always test, and retest before buying. I held to that rule this time. I was considering another fragrance for my summer line-up, but like a prior reviewer basically just finished saying, I agree that $75 for a site unseen cologne is too much a risk.....I had the money on me; but I can't do it on principle. From memory of about 4 hours ago, the scent of the original 2004 Allure Sport currently sold on this site, is masculine, but had an industrial smell. I remember a harhsness like Listerine balanced with something sweeter like Drakkar Noir. I prefer the original Allure over Sport. I still don't know what Allure sport 2007 smells like...and if it's anything like 2004, I'll pass. I'll give Allure Sport 2004 a good rating as a wamer weather, masculine smelling, fragrance.
