  • BIGNUTZ03/22/2011

I like this one, got it real cheap. Some herbs, woods, spice and a hint of sweetness maybe but works well with my chemistry and lasts.

  • ROB H.08/18/2008

Hey, thanks man and I really appreciate that. Good lookin' out there and happy cologne hunting! Take care. Rob

  • ERIC08/06/2008

Rob, I read your posts constantly along with Barbara W's, Jude C's and Mario Justiniani's just to name a few just to get a feel of what you all think of fragrances because frankly you all get out there more and smell fragrances quicker than I do. You do have similar tastes in fragrances I find that I do but in the end it's my choice in what I buy no one else's. I don't profess to knowing the most about fragrances, their sillages, and so on, just that I love woody fragrances with some musk in the drydown and a few orientals. Rarely I will get a green fragrance. I read your posts because I do consider you more knowledgeable whether you like to hear that or not. But again, the choice is mine to buy what I want to purchase, not yours. When I read what that idiot had to say I thought about what they term people who post online for attention that are called "trolls", people who like to draw attention to themselves. Don't pay attention to ignorant people like that. I appreciate all your posts whether I agree with them or not and I don't always agree but I am thankful for them nonetheless. Peace, Eric

  • ROB H.05/12/2008

This cologne definitely does last and no I haven't tried Intenso by Zegna yet. I'll let you know when I do, though. Take care.

  • LESTAT05/05/2008

Hi man.Does this cologne last long ? have you tried intenso by Zegna ? lemme know what you think about it.. Peace

  • POLYHEAL03/24/2008

I thought I'd post a little not of my own on this site for this particular fragrance. I first smelled this fragrance a few years back and wasnt sure if I liked the smell - i smelled it over and over again - it went really poorly with my skin for a number of testings - i could see the potential of the fragrance especially in winter time and for a bold statement at a function or date. Yes initially it had quite a displeasing effect with my skin then after a while my skin chemistry must have changed and I noticed the most beautiful aromatics as opposed to an acrid smell. Skin chemistry is everything especially when wearing what is essentially a blend of individual components. Anyway as for all fragrances I would suggest you continually experiment and see what works with your chemistry. Now this is an exquisite fragrance - one I would recommend highly and one I keep on my shelf.

Lately I've seen a bit of a trend in people blaming like Rob H and others for recommending colognes that were disliked by themselves. I find this terribly funny.. Especially the guy who said he lost confidence in Barbara W and Rob H. The funny thing is you cannot fault someone for liking a cologne. That is their taste. You can't same way I can't fault you for disliking something I liked. When it comes to cologne it is going to vary especially when it comes to certain scents. If you want to just play it safe then wear ADG and Curve all the time. Instead of saying you wasted your money because someone on the internet said the scent was fantabulous!... Thats why they have tester bottles. Test it. If all else fails wear Brut and smell like a damn lumberjack all day. Stop blaming people because you have a different preference in fragrances. It will really keep the site peaceful. -J.Riv

  • ROB H.09/08/2007

I first came on this website some 4 years ago or so posting ratings and reviews on what I like, don't like and recommendations for anyone that ever sent me a message. I consider myself just like the average person that does browse this site. I've never claimed to be the master, emperor, king of colognes or anything like that. If you or anyone out there has something negative or anything at all to say to me; feel free to e-mail me anytime at [email protected] instead of bashing me and putting on a show for everyone else.

  • SCENT KING09/07/2007

Kinda new to the website and have scoured through most of your posts/ reviews and you know what I think? You're nothing but a rookie when it comes to knowing the best colognes out there and this particular stench sucks big time just like your taste!!

  • LOS08/04/2007

I can't say it any better so I won't try. Right on point! Read comments of this being fairly priced and deservantly so!!

  • BARBARA W07/15/2007

I think it's good to remember that whether or not you like a scent is purely subjective and highly personal. Not everyone is going to agree about a scent - that would be ridiculous to expect. Every board on here has people "loving" or "hating" a fragrance. So what does that say? We're all different, and that's OK! I can understand why some people wouldn't like Signature - I think it would be weird if absolutely everyone liked a scent. There are some people whose tastes are similar to mine, so I look to their reviews first, but it's still going to be a miss once in a while. Can't win 'em all.

  • JUDE C05/24/2007

This is your classic man scent. It has decent staying power and smells quick good. I have to consider a scent totally unique to give it 5, stars - but 4 stars is good too. This stuff is a classic quality scent. It is not the most interesting scent out there, but solid.

  • STEVE EMLENTON02/20/2007

Very pleasant woody fragrance that's not commonly worn and is appropriate for the evenings mainly. Nicely priced too.

  • CONCERNED12/09/2006

"Always" agree with majority? Come on now..that's just silly. I think we are all able to make up our own minds here, and becides, GQ, I can assure you that despite your blind faith in, and promise to agree with people you know nothing about..I can assure you that they will not always agree with you! We're all unique, my friend, and each opinion is a valid one, your included, so don't be afraid to make up your own mind. btw this scent is decent, but nowhere near worthy of a 5 star rating...imho of course! :) peace 2u..

  • GQ ALMIGHTY11/29/2006

Stumbled onto this website a few days ago and scoured through every cologne and reviews especially some of the more unknown ones and here's my thoughts. Just recently made a blind purchase of this one, Basi Homme, Cristobal, Geir and Ignition. All five ARE 5* colognes and definitely worth owning. Majority are in the right and the minority don't know their colognes!!

  • JAKE11/28/2006

Jason13: We are in total agreement. St Dupont, along with Mont Blanc Individuel, are two products with near perfect ratings that I've purchased blind, and worn each only once. I've rated them accordingly. MAJ. GEN. TOMECKI: Too bad.

  • TONYGIO11/17/2006

no offense to all the loyalists here, but time and again the appeal of this scent eludes me. Maybe just body chem., but to me..or maybe just "on" me.. it smells cheap and unrefined. Really..it conjures images of drug stores...and jovan!

  • JASON1309/07/2006

Because this is a review board. Because perf. emp. allows for a 1-5 * rating. Because fragrances are about expression which is why you ended your review with "I think"! Someone "getting the point across" of their dislike for a fragance and rating accordingly is no different than all other post expressing favoritism of it and their rating. You sound somewhat offended that everyone does not like a fragrance you wear! By u reacting to the posts of others could have easily gone into the new forums as well!

  • MAJ. GEN. J.G. TOMECKI09/03/2006

Why oh why some people just have to purposely ruin a cologne's great streak of near perfect reviews to get the point across to others that it's not good at all. Especially with these forums up now, I've noticed other colognes that were averaging 5*s (Basi Homme, Grigio Perla, Mont Blanc Individuel, Armanicode) that mysteriously fell below that average. I think this luxurious and elegant spicy/sweet and woody sleeper is an excellent buy for the price and is great for evenings and military balls.

  • JASON1308/31/2006

No need to apologize even though u did call out Rob H. and we all realize that fragrances are personal choices! I believe u r just in disbelief over the dislike of this fragrance vs. the pos ratings on this board. I too blindy purchased this fragrance based on the pos reviews by all on this board and couldn't belive what I was smelling! Imo it smells dated, inexpensive, and non-elegant. Has that offensive pencil shavings smell(like Miracle) that really did it for me. My girl made me give it away and my sister and mother absolutely hated it! I had searched every major dept.store and small outlets and couldn't locate anywhere so had to purchase on-line. That and the fact that I only paid $13.99 for 1.7oz should have been a red flag for me! So Jake, don't feel bad cause we are in the minority on this board! I'm certain that there are others that have sampled and disliked and have not posted. I purchased this 3 months ago and finally felt the need to review. 1 star!!!

  • JAKE08/23/2006

I "bashed" Rob H.? So now disagreeing is bashing is it? I respect Rob H, agree with many of his choices, and made this purchase soley because of his review. I bought this online, so I'm willing to entertain the possibility that what I received was not in fact, genuine. What I received is indeed similar to Aramis Life and I was greatly dissapointed, hence my comment. There will be no apology and I stand by my previous post under the assumption that the product was genuine.

  • A. BOREALIS08/06/2006

A 4* introductory rating and 38 straight perfect ratings coming from a handful of commonly seen cologne fanatics including the most notorious one, Rob H. Then comes Jake who claims it smells cheap and just like Aramis Life when it smells nothing like Aramis Life and in fact high class, masculine and elegant and a hell of a lot better than Aramis Life. So Jake, you bash Rob H. and the rest of us who love this wonderful sleeper............I think an apology to all would be more like it, don't you think?

  • JAKE08/02/2006

I ordered this online manly due to the reviews I've been reading. I was looking for something sophisticated, masculine, and most of all, different. This stuff smells just like Life by Aramis. In other words...it's nauseating, smells cheap, and is very strong. All the positive reviews have seriously shaken my confidence in Rob H., Barbara W, etc.

  • AQUARIUS4.707/14/2006

..............with every shining review about this wonderful product. Spicy/sweet & herbal frag. has good staying power and won't break your bank.

  • STEVE YOUNG07/03/2006

An outstanding and underrated hit this spicy-woody-herbal aroma is. Well worth its small price that most stores I've seen it sell it for, it's long-lasting, very original and can do battle with just about anything Armani, Cartier, Cavalli, Chanel, Cole, Mont Blanc or any other designers popular for elegant, luxurious and/or GQ type fragrances.

  • ERMAC06/08/2006

A "WOW!!" of a scent this spicy/sweet-woody aroma is. So very elegant and luxurious, this long-lasting sleeper is an excellent buy for the price I paid on the big bottle and in due time may as well become the signature scent in my growing collection. 5 big *s!!

  • P.T. STOCTOROCTON06/04/2006

Absolutely and positively one of the top 10 best all-around fragrances ever created for men and not to mention a best buy for the price. A wonderful herbal and woody aroma that you don't smell on every other gent out there and has some good longevity. Very original and most definitely worth adding a big bottle to your collection, gents!

  • CRIS KAANTO05/08/2006

Truly a remarkable fragrance that's not to be missed and should be included in any cologne collector's lineup. Spicy-sweet & very woodsy aroma lasts very long, very original and a best buy for the asking price most stores sell it for.

  • GARY N.04/15/2006

Truly an amazing fragrance for the small asking price just about anywhere. It's a classy, luxurious and highly elegant aroma that's spicy with some herbals and rich in woods with a touch of sweetness to it. A rare gem!

  • X.G.03/28/2006

Bought a big bottle of this blind for under $30 and is now in the top ten of my collection. This elegant and warm semi-spicy & sweet/woody sleeper is long-lasting and great for any age male out there.

  • RX-803/16/2006

Simply amazing! The continuous perfect reviews spawned me to finally sample this very elegant spicy & woody aroma and was a best buy at $26 for a big bottle.

  • FLYBOY02/22/2006

All the glowing reviews of this sleeper are true. It bears some similarity to another favorite of mine, Bvlgari Black. Except Signature takes away the rubber aroma and lets the warm, sweet powder ingredients take the lead. Both fragrances are excellent this one is more the safe romantic while Bvlgari Black is life out on the edge.

  • SYLVIA J02/21/2006

Fabulous sweet/spicy-woody fragrance is an absolute best buy for the small price I paid for it and my man is in love with it. Elegant, sophisticated, sexy and has good staying power.

  • ONG-BAK01/27/2006

A definite best buy for the money of any bottle size for this exceptional sleeper fragrance. Warm, sweet, spicy, herbal, woody; this cologne can be worn for just about any occasion day or night and is highly elegant, luxurious and sophisticated. Absolutely CANNOT go wrong with this wonderful scent!!

  • HAROLD01/01/2006

For the small price I paid and with all the wonderful and endless compliments I receive regularly, in due time this magical wonder might just have to become my signature scent.

  • RICHARD12/27/2005

I love this classy uptown scent! It is very original while maintaining its tradition. It is not common in the U.S. making it very unique. Truely my signature scent!

  • QUANTUM FIRE12/27/2005

This sweet, spicy, ambery and very woody fragrance is an absolute best buy for the price I paid and probably the king of sleeper colognes. Extremely luxurious and elegant.

  • DUC12/16/2005

To tell anybody honestly, this is truly a remarkable fragrance especially for the small price that most stores sell it for. It's a warm, sweet and not overly sweet, spicy, woody and herbal aroma that happens to be utterly luxurious, sophisticated, distinctive, elegant, refined, masculine, sensual and 100% totally GQ. For any man who's sampled this at a store one time or another; I highly recommend any man to purchase a BIG bottle of this wonder.

  • BRABUS12/07/2005

Wonderful woody fragrance is most definitely a sleeper and a keeper especially for its small price which was around 1/3 of the original value.

  • Z.G. ARCHIBALD12/03/2005

Okay, I finally got a sample of this after reading the awesome reviews over the last few months! I am very very pleased with this classy herbal/woody fragrance that's warm with a nice semi-spicy/sweetness to it. I'm definitely going with the big bottle! One of the greatest colognes ever created for a man and the greatest sleeper out there right now!

  • *BARBARA W*11/29/2005

I stopped a stranger (a very sexy, sophisticated man) and asked him what incredible scent he was wearing...it was Signature. No other men's fragrance can touch this; it's just amazing. The price is unbelievable, too. I don't know why more men aren't wearing this - guys, this could be your best kept secret! Will definitely attract women with taste and class.

  • N2DBLU11/22/2005

Fabulous warm and woody/sweet cologne from an underrated fragrance designer, should be included in any mans' cologne collection and could easily be a great starter cologne for the young guys who crave elegance and sophistication over sport. I picked up a small bottle for under $20.

  • MARCO TESTAVERDE11/04/2005

Finally got around to sampling this awesome fragrance and I think it's truly one of the best sleepers in the world for the money. Sweet and sophisticated.

  • JAYNISTER11/02/2005

awsome smell...especially when it settles down...rare and hard to find but well worth it!!!!

  • MICK F.10/31/2005

has a nice and warm sweetness to it and also seems woody which i like a lot. very elegant and great for formal occasions.

  • ROB H.10/30/2005

I truly love this one but the new Signature by Kenneth Cole I love as well. That one is a bit more modern, refined and GQ vs. this one which is more luxurious and elegant. Both are excellent choices but for those who haven't sampled the new one, definitely give it a try.

  • GRAMMATON CLERIC10/12/2005

This wonderful sleeper fragrance could be in due time a great signature scent for a lot of guys out there who've never heard of this sweet/woodsy hit.

  • VICTOR RICHLAND CREIGHTON III08/22/2005

Recently sampled this at a fragrance store at the Mall of America and immediately snatched a big bottle for under $35. The clerk couldn't tell me a whole lot about it so I decided to Google it online and ended up at this website where I couldn't agree more with all the wonderful reviews about this awesome fragrance! Gentlemen, we have a winner here!!

  • SAMER BESEISO08/09/2005

it has very good effect on woman. they keep askin wats ur cologne its soo ooooo sexy.

  • CYNTHIA E. YORKBOROUGH08/08/2005

Fabulous warm & woody-sweet fragrance that's definitely one of the greatest mens' sleeper colognes out there. I love this on my man and it's too bad I'm taken, Rob H.!! I've scoured this entire website and have come across some of your reviews in which you have included some to-die-for fragrances such as Mandorlo di Sicilia and Palladio that aren't featured on this website that most men out there have never even heard of. I just LOVE your selection........YOU GO, BOY!!

  • TONY T07/25/2005

say your comments will be posted within 48 hours?? hmm... anyway gotta love it!! i bought signature a couple months ago solely based on the lavish reviews and indeed i am very happy. 1.7 ounce bottle for $14 bucks !! steal of the decade.. i could talk about signature but it's already been said.. p.s. long lasting also.. do we have a new cologne fanatic??

  • JULIAN C. STRATUSON07/22/2005

Among my collection in which case are mostly sleepers for the time being, this is probably in my top three right next to Balenciaga's Cristobal and Individuel by Mont Blanc. This woodsy-sweet fragrance still remains a sleeper to most men and women out there as do many of my colognes like Axis, Sexual, Basi Homme, Chevignon 57, FCUK, Kiton, Pal Zileri, Yang and Clear Day are some examples. So glad I found this website, now I can join the race with some names I've been seeing over and over again like Chris Cologne, R.J., M.R., W.B., Rob H. and Tony T.

  • K. WIMPINO07/19/2005

A great sweet & woodsy scent of a sleeper for a great low price I paid. It's not too often that you smell something so great that's barely worn by the general crowd of guys out there.

  • SUE07/18/2005

My new favorite for my husband - I consider it to have a sweet, sort of creamy fragrance. I can recognize it immediately when he enters the room. The only drawback is that it hasn't become popular and is therefore difficult to locate.

  • KENNETH V. RICHELIEU07/13/2005

This is without a doubt the best fragrance from S.T. Dupont. I love the sweet warmth of this sleeper and women all around me are always in a trance once they've taken a whiff. Hey, for $28 I'll gladly take a big bottle!

  • M.R.06/22/2005

A very pleasing sweet/woody aroma from a designer who's not really known for their fragrances. A definite sleeper that I hope will become popular through time. I would hope that fragrance stores particularly in malls and department stores will push people to sample it.

  • MARIO JUSTINIANI06/20/2005

First, a confession: I have overdosed on lavender, basil, grapefruit, and vanilla. Plus I made the mistake of getting an arid cologne with birch which would have passed for dirt (not on this site, don't worry) so I was, oh, somewhat skeptical about the raves on Signature. People, you've got to get this one. compared to the truth the rave reviews are feeble! Romantic, sweet yet masculine, elegant yet complex and -- well, you get the idea. 5 stars all the way.

  • RICH02/05/2005

I don't think so. I think it smells great. and more people than ever before ask me about it, and where to get it.

  • ROB H.10/05/2004

Great smelling cologne that bears some similarity to Basi Homme (not to be confused with Armand Basi Homme by the same designer).

  • SYLVIE04/21/2004

I agree with Chris Cologne. This fragrance is wonderful!!! It's an excellent oriental scent for men (...and women). Spicy and sweet with a vanillic drydown. Very sensous and soft. Inviting and classy. It is not very popular but worth to try it. This fine fragrance is an insider tip.

  • CHRIS COLOGNE08/20/2003

I just fond this one for $10.00. It's the best $10.00 I ever spent on a cologne. I like everything about Signature, the price (I paid), the handsome packaging and neat flip top bottle, and the wonderful scent. This has a fantastic powdery sweet aroma. It didn't change much from the time I sprayed it on to the drydown, but I could care less. I could keep smelling this for hours, it's that good! Geurlains Shalimar, a classic women's fragrance, has a similar powdery smell. The por homme version could be used by women and this easily could be called a unisex fragrance even though there is a womens version. One of the previous posts said this smells like play doh. I remember smelling play doh when I was a kid and it is a bit similar. Anyways, just try this, it's terrific. Sweet fragrance lovers will love it.

  • KHALED07/21/2003

it smells similar to PASHA CARTIER

  • JEFF11/01/2002

I have to agree with the last post. This one goes on rather ordinary, but really gets nice after an hour. Very smooth, warm fragrance-not over powering. Great for the office.

  • JOSH09/13/2002

I only recently tried this scent and I was surprised how much I love it. It smells fresh but rather ordinary at first, but then it begins to warm up and become very smooth and mellow. It's a "find". Try it, if you like fresh and warm with just a bit of spice.

  • DOUG05/22/2002

This is a very different cologne, it smells similar to Playdough.
