It's the best! I've been wearing it for 20 years.

  • BRIGITTE12/22/2010

I just received it today from my co-worker and she was right, i love it! It reminds me of the beach season....can't wait to see if my bf loves it too!!!

  • MARIE06/25/2010

The Best perfume Coty ever created. It is all about femininity and sensuality. Most of the men I dated loved it and it arouses the senses. Love this perfume.

  • NANCY10/19/2009

  • JANESE LAX10/07/2009

I like this perfume somebody else is using my name saying bad stuff about this good perfume. I always liked it and own a bunch of bottles of this good perfume. I didn't wrote none of this statements.

  • MIA09/27/2009

This scent actually made me sick! I hated it, and I agree with the poster who said it smelled like it's a scent for a cheap floozy.

  • DIXIE LANE07/07/2009

It smells almost like what you would expect say window cleaner to smell like. Very chemically and like the fragrance was added to try to cover the bad chemical smell but just doesn't quite do the trick. Not a good fragrance for anyone.

  • LAURIE02/07/2009

I love it!! Can't always find it so seems like everyone else loves it to! I always get ask what I'm wearing and told that I smell GREAT!! Real men love this fragrance and so do I!!!

  • NORMA YOUNG01/19/2009

I live in Pflugerville, Tx. and have not been able to find my faforite perfume. I always ask for Sand & Sable perfume for Christmas every year and this is the first time my children could not find it. I have been wearing this perfume for many years. Get many compliments on it. I decided to look it up on the computer and low and behold here it is. Now I know where I can get it.

  • JACQUE10/22/2008

I love S&S, I've used it for years...see, the thing about it is that Sand is a pesonality fragrance, it kinda has an aura flow to it, body chemistry is key, but chemistry changes with moods. It's not a mood lifter, it's an accessory.

  • DAUNE09/01/2008

I love this stuff. My mama turned me on to this stuff when I was little and I've love it ever since. It has a fragrance that will have all the heads turning!!! just don't use too much lol!!!

  • DIXIE LANE08/25/2008

This perfume reminds me of a dirty wet dog. It is not pleasant. It smells pretty pea-pickin bad.

  • CHEE-CHEE08/12/2008

My sister loves sand and sable to death and it smells good on her. but on me low cost perfume doesn't do good with my body's chemistry i have to have that good stuff. on my sister it smells so good on me. naaa

  • CATHY08/04/2008

Does anyone know where I can find Sand and Sable Bath Dusting Powder? I love this fragrance and can't find it anywhere I shop..

  • PRUDENCE05/23/2008

This is one of the scents my mother wears. It smells similar to White Shoulders on her. The tuberose in it also does bring to mind Fracas. Sand & Sable is perfect for the woman who wants a single scent to carry her through a day at the beach in her bikini on to dinner at a five-star restaurant in her little black dress. This scent isn't for me (it smells "peppery" on me), but it's a league above anything else Coty has done!

  • JENJENOFAZ03/29/2008

Smells good on the right person-soft, fresh and light. On me it was like a cheap suntan lotion! It reminds me of summer at the beach.

  • CHAR01/15/2008

It really MUST be body chemistry as I ALWAYS get compliments when I wear it. I get worried sometimes because it's not always available & found this forum while attempting to find out if it's going to still be available. I'm glad it is!!

  • DEBBIE01/03/2008

This is the best in my opinion in the cologne field, I wear this cologne and have never had more compliments. Maybe some are right , you have to have the right chemistry to wear this cologne. Like I said , it wears well on me. Everyone likes it , when I wear it.

  • JANESE LAX12/30/2007

I think I know what this reminds me of now Urinal Pucks. Its not good.

  • JUICIE12/17/2007

This fragrance is horrible. It does smell like a old cheap floozy. I think this rates right up there with Arpege.

  • CHARLOTTE__SOMETIMES11/21/2007

I personally can't wear this scent- it's an extremely rich floral and as Barabara W stated below, you to have to like tuberose. If you can get your hands on the body powder-you might find that alone is soft and not too overpowering.

  • JESSIE11/12/2007

I will repeat what most say, it all depends on your body chemistry. Not everyone can wear every fragrance well and expensive does not always mean better. I have both expensive and inexpensive fragrances and found that some inexpensive fragrances have the most staying power and I receive the most compliments. This fragrance is no exception. Very nice to me.

  • BARBARA W08/26/2007

Florals (especially heavy tuberose fragrances), are not my thing. I do not like this at all, but if you go for florals, give it a try.

  • BOMBSHELL08/18/2007

Ladies most perfumes today are made from synthetic scent molecules. It is so expensive to extract oils to make perfumes that companies do not do it any longer. I would give inexpensive perfumes a try and see if it works on you. They are inexpensive because of the low level of marketing and because they are not sold at dept. stores.

  • SWAMPDIVA07/25/2007

My father-in-law's girlfriend was wearing it in the car last evening and I thought I'd choke. From reading the other comments, it seems to me that it must be a body chemistry thing. For some it is light and "green," which I normally like, but for others it doesn't smell at all good.

  • REBECCA01/12/2007

It smells alot like Blonde by Versace, but costs much less & to me its nicer. wore it since I was a preteen. One of the best summer scents. I bought it in purse size & threw it in my beach bag. I see something in common w/ Fracas (which is freakin expensive!) , but the floral aspect is very different to me- fracas is less youthful & more of an elegant evening scent for mature, refined tastes. S&S is good for all ages & a really rather casual IMHO. And much more "green" smelling, which I'm usually drawn toward. A lot of bang for your buck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • TARAH01/02/2007

The people who think it smells cheap, maybe it just doesn't blend with your body chemistry. Everybody wears scents differently. For me S&S smells very feminine and not like an old lady. If I could I would drink it, it smells sooo good!!

  • CHRISTIAN GIRL12/16/2006

I have loved sand and sable since the 80's. I have noticed that the gift set you get around christmas in the clear bottle does not smell like the perfume in the original bottle. I suggest not getting the gift set, It seems like it is watered down.

  • LEZAH11/12/2006

i have worn this perfume for nine years. im not able to wear a lot of perfume because i have asthma. but this sent is just for me

  • ALY10/24/2006

I wish that Sand and Sable came in a roll on perfume like some others, will it ever happen?

  • CK08/12/2006

How many of us bought this at the drugstore counter huh! The is like the Tabu, Ambush, Chantilly's etc. Even though, they were considered to be modestly price back-in-the day, for those who could not get the pricey scents, they had a little style of their own. Sand & sable was kinda exotic to me and rich!

  • JANESE LAX05/24/2006

Neither Gracie nor I puts messages on these message boards..Its someone else and saying it's us.

  • NILLA04/29/2006

this may sound harsh, but it smells like the kind of perfume that i imagine an elderly prostitute would wear. S&S also seems to have a subtle urine accord. bottom line: stay away from this terrible fragrance!

  • ANNIE04/20/2006

I tried this at the local store today. I had been meaning to for a long time. Sand & Sable smells exactly like Fracas or Versace Blonde (tuberose dominant), it truly does. I wore Fracas yesterday as a matter of fact so it's still fresh in my mind. Sand & Sable just doesn't last as long. It's not quite as complex. But it is a very good value. Probably one of the best drugstore fragrances around, imo.

  • LEELEEYA04/12/2006

I discovered it the other day. I sprayed it once, and loved the beautiful scent of tuberose and jasmine. Very nice and subtle.

  • POOKIE12/30/2005

Another one of my fav hits from the 80's. I'm always surprised when I put this on because I forget how wonderful it really is.

  • ANITA12/27/2005

The first time I came across this fragrance was 15+ yrs ago as a teen, and I had sworn that this would be my "signature fragrance" when I was all growed up :D So here I am today in the pursuit of S&S pure purfume or body powder, for I have learned over the years that the spray colognes are what give this scent a bad name (or stink!). I've had soooo many cologne sprays given to me as gifts & there is just NO WAY to use it all up before it "turns bad", all the scent dissappearing & leaving nothing behind but alcohol. Those of you who want to give S&S a second try, please try the purfume &/or body powder - I hope it changes your mind!! All these years, and I still get compliments!!

  • KATHY10/25/2005

This is one that I can not even fairly rate. It smelled wonderful on a firend, so I went and bought a bottle. Couldn't believe what it smelled like. Whewwww.... not the same on me. It even stunk before I sprayed it. Hummmm... wonder why it smelled wonderful on some one else???

  • PFALTZGRAFF FAIRY09/22/2005

Smells yucky! Horrible! Cheap! Whorish! Get my point I don't like it!

  • LASSIE08/11/2005

...that I liked this better. I read so many good reviews. I went out and tried it, but sadly, I didn't care for it much. Don't know why, with all those nice notes in it, but on me it was too strong and kind of sickening with the dreaded "suntan lotion" (coconutty?) undertone.

  • BUNNY 06/23/2005

This fragrance is okay. Yes its a little alcholly (if that's a word) and it doesn't last long. It's a stepping stone for young women in my opinion. Young women who want a little more mature fragrance but haven't graduated to stuff like Chanel or Elizabeth Arden. It's sort of like a Junior High scent. You still aren't up there with the big girls but you have moved on from the bubble gum scents.

  • PIA05/25/2005

I have not worn this lovely fragrance for over ten years so when I recently saw the dusting powder while shopping I just had to get it. It is not as strong as the edp so for those of you that find the spray too much try the powder, very nice and I am glad I revisited this. Now I do finally smell the gardenias also that "beach lotion" but it is very subtle and pleasant. As for the one post about a certain posters husband, what on earth does that have to do with posting about fragrances, that post was in very poor taste and the same person who posted it is continually posting offensive and personal remarks about her family members. Get a life Gracie whateveryourname is!

  • NICOLE05/08/2005

LOL these reviews...the internet is like a free way frenzy for the crazy people somewhat. They all get on it sometime or another. What is going on?...this is about perfume, plain and simple. Last time I smelled this it was nice, but michael by Michael kors is a better version for me personally. This doesn't last all day from what I remember.

  • JANESE LAX04/18/2005

OMG this stuff is so bad the local drugstore "donated" this and and couple other nasties they could not unload to my daughters school chinese auction. No body would bid on it, they would sniff and walk away in udder disgust. We ended up giving it to the homeless shelter to leave in the public showers so somebody might use it. Now that shows you this stuff is groddy! Like gag me with a spoon.

  • GRACIE PFALTZGRAF FOUTY04/07/2005

I was born in a cross-fire hurricane And I howled at my ma in the driving rain, But it’s all right now, in fact, it’s a gas! But it’s all right. I’m jumpin’ jack flash, It’s a gas! gas! gas! I was raised by a toothless, bearded hag, I was schooled with a strap right across my back, But it’s all right now, in fact, it’s a gas! But it’s all right, I’m jumpin’ jack flash, It’s a gas! gas! gas! I was drowned, I was washed up and left for dead. I fell down to my feet and I saw they bled. I frowned at the crumbs of a crust of bread. Yeah, yeah, yeah I was crowned with a spike right thru my head. But it’s all right now, in fact, it’s a gas! But it’s all right, I’m jumpin’ jack flash, It’s a gas! gas! gas! Jumping jack flash, it’s a gas Jumping jack flash, it’s a gas Jumping jack flash, it’s a gas

  • REBECCA03/16/2005

I REALLY WISH I COULD WEAR THIS FRAGRANCE. (I HAVE HYPER-SENSITIVE ALLERGIES) THIS SCENT IS, TO ME, THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS. IT'S A LITTLE CITRUSY, A LITTLE FRUITY, A LITTLE AMBERY, QUITE WARM, WITHOUT BEING SPICY, A LITTLE BIT AQUATIC AND VERY MUCH LIKE HAWAIIAN GARDENIAS BLENDED WITH ALL OF THAT. IT IS VERY SENSUAL AND HAS A NICE LINGERING EFFECT, GOOD STAYING POWER. ONE SPRAY OR DAB WILL DO, BECAUSE IT IS A BIT ON THE POTENT SIDE. WAIT FOR DRYDOWN TO EXPERIENCE ITS TRUE ESSENCE. IT IS VERY UPLIFTING AND ROMANTIC. IF YOU'RE NOT LIKE ME, CURSED WITH TERRIBLE SENSITIVITY ISSUES, TRY IT, IT'S ONE OF A KIND AND A CLASSIC NOW.

  • GRACIE ELAINE PFALTZGRAF03/06/2005

This is another one of my Bosses favorite fragrance. I can't help but giggle this is so nasty and cheap just like her.

  • CAIT01/02/2005

perhaps your skin chemistry doesn't agree with S&S. Mine does and I rate it 5 stars. People I don't know stop me to compliment it

  • ANTASIA12/01/2004

it was once givin to me as a gift and i loved it so much i went and bought some for my self to me it smelled like bannas kind of soft and sweet.

  • MURR08/21/2004

why cant i find this with coty products

  • JANESE LAX07/23/2004

This is really a gross fragrance. I think you would smell better if you would dab a little bit of Pine-Sol behind your ears. Like Gracie said Sand and STABLE!

  • GRACE PFALTZGRAF05/24/2004

I can't tell you how horrible this stuff is. First you smell alcohol and then a stench that is just vile. It reminds me of a chemical airfreshner. It is certainly not romanctic I would say it could be classified as a reliable birth control method because no man would dare get near you if you sprayed it on. This stuff is truely horrible.

  • CHAS03/26/2004

I really love this perfume. Its a little strong at first but then it dies down to this heveanly scent. Perfect balance of warm and light for me. Great price for an excellent product. Oh, and try the lotion too...wonderful.

  • J02/28/2004

My new favourite. I find it to be a bit strong at first, but it soon lightens to a sweet gardenia floral which can linger softly for days. It brightens my mood somehow.

  • JUNE02/02/2004

Have used this perfume since it came on the market and love the scent. I also have a body chemistry that makes most scents smell like bug spray, but not this one. If it is too strong, you are using too much. PLEZ TELL ME WHERE TO GET MORE OF THE BATH GEL AND TALC!!

  • LOIS12/12/2003

I wore this perfume since it came out many years ago & just recently,i threw the empty bottle away because i thought they don't make it anymore. I was wrong,I found out they still have it & I can't wait to buy it again for christmas.

  • ANNIE12/10/2003

My husbands favorite scent for romance

  • MEGAN11/02/2003

I first tried this way back in the 80s when it was new. I've never been crazy about the scent of gardenias, but this has other notes that gives it some balance. Been using it on and off for years and like it as a spring and summer fragrance. Some reviews here campare it to the scent of suntan lotion......I don't get the reference, as the only suntan lotions I've ever used are original Coppertone and Bain de Soleil - and - Sand & Sable smells nothing like them. I would recommend it only if you like gardenias. Try using very little of the EDT and lots of the bath powder. It's softer that way and lasts just as long.

  • PIA10/25/2003

I wore this from mid eightees to early ninetees loved it then and i got many complements at work, altough one girl always said when she came near me "I smell the ocean", then she would say it also made her think of suntan lotion. I never got that effect from it and did not even notice the gardenia notes to it then but I do now, altough I take an occasional sniff from the bottle it has been collecting dust in my guest bedroom going on ten years now. I do recommend it to anyone that wants a nice all around fragrance.

  • ABIGAIL09/30/2003

light, inoffensive, floral yet clean, and cheap.

  • M.07/26/2003

Can anyone tell me if this perfume is still in existence, because i smelt it in my cousin's bedroom at her home. It's so heavenly,I just gotta get me some. Thanks.

  • LALA04/12/2003

smelt great very romantic & appealing

  • DEA03/27/2003

I have worn Sand & Sable for years, since right after I graduated high school. It's very soft, very feminine. Some have said it's too strong-if that's the case, you're applying too much! My husband loves it, too.

  • SIDNEY03/20/2003

This smells excactly like Marc Jacobs fragrance. I can not tell them apart, but this is much less expensive.

  • BRITTNEE02/26/2003

This one is not bad, but not all that great. I like it on some people, but not on myself. It is rather strong.

  • JANIS10/26/2002

I'm surprised to read such negative feedback to such a wonderful fragrance. I have always been sensitive to strong smelling perfumes. If they are too strong I get headaches. This perfume is so soft and smells so sweet it is really the only thing I can wear. I Love it!

  • BETHANY06/14/2002

I like the smell of gardenias (when mixed with other scents to cut the sweetness a little). I tried this one, it definitely did not smell like gardenia on me. It smelled bad. Must be the old body chemistry thing again. In case you like gardenias: Try first, then see.

  • THERESA04/19/2002

Hmmmm...I don't understand the suntan lotion comparison. It smells like flowers to me. I like it alot. I used to wear it in high school and always got so many compliments on it.

  • STEPHANIE03/01/2002

I didn't mention this in my last post, but it's so funny...when I first sampled this fragrance way back in the early 80', I thought of suntan lotion. Now that I'm older all I smell in it is gardenia. I've smelled it on a few people and knew right away what it was before I even asked. On them it did smell nice. I just don't care to walk around breathing it in all day on myself.

  • YVONNE02/04/2002

I like this scent alot, BUT... I would only wear it in the summer, as for some reason (maybe I'm being influenced by the name?) it reminds me of suntan lotion.

  • SARA01/08/2002

I can pick out the smell of sand and sable from miles away and every time i smell it i cringe. it's truly awful.

  • SUSAN01/02/2002

    Horrible, way too strong.....

  • CLEONA12/26/2001

Sand & Sable is my favorite perfume. Its affordable price, by no means, puts true value on this splendid fragrance, which makes you smell like a bouquet of fresh gardenias. For a light, fresh, naturally sensual smell...try Sand & Sable.

  • STEPHANIE09/10/2001

You'd better really like the smell of gardenias because if you buy this you're going to get an awful lot of it! I had this at one time and really liked it at first, but I soon tired of it and gave it to a friend who loved it. I am glad to see another reasonably priced fragrance out there, though.

  • JOLENE07/29/2001

Sand & Sable is such a beautiful perfume! It's so inexpensive that it's a steal. I wear Fracas on special occasions, and I wear Sand & Sable to work. Great gardenia-smelling fragrance!

  • JOANIE07/22/2001

This is the prettiest fragrance you can buy for the price. It's perfect for the Spring or Summer months because it's very light and airy. Smells like fresh picked Gardenias!

  • VALERY03/14/2001

    GREAT SMELL! Great price

  • MADONNA01/18/2001

This is the most wonderful perfume,I've found for all occasions(daytime-romantic). And it truely lasts. It has jasmine, gardenia, peaches! Very refreshing to have one fragrence for everything!
