The only fragrance I am never tired of.

I am amazed to find this perfume is still around, I love this perfume but not seen it on sale for a long time. Now I've found it again I will be buying a bottle

I have been wearing this perfume for years and I absolutely love it. Lately, I have been having problems of finding it and was told that this perfume is going to be discontinued. I hope it is not going to happen; otherwise, I do not know what I am going to do…

This fragrance is said to be unique in that it is the only perfume known to be composed around a dominant note of wisteria. It's a bit hard to find in shops so I haven't tried it yet! I'll have to look for a wisteria bush - forget what it smells like!

This is the fragrance I would choose to keep if I had to give up all my others.

There must be two Maras on this site, as I would never ever consider myself a perfume EXPERT, and I don' think I have ever even smelled this fragrance.

I wear it every spring and summer and always get compliments.

I don't find it exactly extravagant but I definitely like it more than Amarige. This is fine and elegant, clean Green-Floral...

What a wonderful post! I too have been a user of this fragrance for years, since it came out. I have a bottle right now! I love this one. It is very clean smelling and yet interesting. I am a bit of a conniseur of fragrance and the eccentric part fits me! I enjoy your posts so much! Keep them coming!

I am not a fan of any greenish perfumes out there, in fact I don't like Envy and can't stand Manifesto, I adore Burberry but dislike Touch for Women, (really too green for my nose), I love the men's version of Very Valentino by Valentino but can't stand the version designed for Women... and yet, even though Extravagance is in the same 'general' category (Floral-Green) as the others I have always loved it :) Here is the description I found that I just could not resist sharing with you here: "Seven years after the creation of Amarige, Givenchy continues to tell the love story with Exravagance. Amarige is for the classic woman, and on the other hand Extravagance is eccentric. Amarige is natural, sumptuous and spontaneous, whereas Extravagance is provocative, feline, resolute, and a touch enigmatic. Just like its elder, Extravagance is a woody floral but its more persistent and more structured composition makes it a whole different fragrance in its own right." Well ladies I have not idea what or why I like this so much, I've gone through two bottles of it... one in late 90s when it came out and one in 2003 and now I want to pick it up again for the spring. I'll continue with the description I found: "The opening note is bursting, almost electric, with green mandarin and taget or Indian rose, followed up by notes of bitter violet leaves, a graceful and surprising touch of pink peppercorn, and a hint of nettle, as if to say: if you meddle with it, you'll get burnt. LOL (I LOVE THAT LINE!!!) The heart note is luxurious with jasmine and orange blossom, accompanied by purple wisteria, sweet and exuberant. In the end, after a delicious note of wild strawberry, a touch of woody notes, a scent of half woody and half warm ambrox, and a note of iris for an enduring trail." (WELL I JUST KNOW I CAN'T RESIST THIS)...

Go easy on this one! All I smell is the alcohol, and it just gets worse on my skin... Not for me, but if you can pull this off it's sure to be a head-turner. Not for someone looking for a floral scent that's even remotely subtle :)

i usually like givenchy fragrances, but this one just doesn't smell right, and it smells nothing like the original amarige, which i love.

this is an excellent scent, very special and makes me feel very special. there is a very sophisticated side to it as well as innocency. it is a great summer scent. i think i will wear it forever.

I received this with a gift and the bottle broke in the package. We're still trying to get rid of this "scent"

I really like this fragrance. It reminds me of First, but with a tad more citrus on top and a less powdery drydown. Excellent for warm weather, but quite strong so go easy with it.

Absolutely everytime I am in a public place someone asks me what fragrance I wear-always a compliment always favorable. My co-worker is not offended by it like others I've worn Eternity-Woman-Escape-others - - this is the BEST!

This is by far the BEST SMELLING PERFUME ever! I am quite a perfume EXPERT and this one just sticks out above the rest.

It's fabulous! Exciting. Captivating. Piquant. Unique. I think it's the scent of a real woman. Once you've smelled, You'll never forget. Clean and airly, sensual and intriguing at the same time. Best of Givenchy, I think.

I have alot of complements by wearing this perfume. I no longer can buy this in the store. I love this perfume.

I have purchased my second bottle of Extravagance which is something I seldom do with a perfume. Why did I? First, I like the tangerine smell that exudes from this one. It is sweet, granted, it does last long, granted but most of all it is uplifting and takes me back to tropical days when sunshine abounds and healthy feelings of goodwill surround me. I would classify this one as strong mandarine/tangerine with a lasting sweetness, especially if sprayed directly on clothing (which I often do).

What a yucky perfume!!! It's SO strong and cloying, ugh. Should be made illegal. Thoroughly unpleasant.

I sprayed a bit of this on and thought it was one of the worst I've ever tried. It is SO strong, it smelled offensive to me and put me in a bad mood. It took at least three washings to get it all off. This fragrance is for women who dye their hair blue and wear gold lame (lam-ay) pantsuits. argh!!!

The Best Perfume I ever had. Both for daily wearing and evenings. How fantastic acerbity in base notes. Really Extravagant!!!

I think this product is made for extravagant, original and very feminine woman. I love it. It`s sensual, but not overpowering.

I own about 30 to 35 diferent perfumes and this one it is really good,clean and flowery.

I really love this scent - it is a light citrusy scent but it stays with you. Very feminine. Layer with the lotion and it smells even better. It gets lots of compliments from both guys and gals.

Many of my friends literally ran to the store for this perfume right away after sniffing at me...

Just nice. On me this smelled clean, light, fresh, slightly citrusey, nicely flowery-Did not last. What else in new? ;-)

On me this fragrance smells just like "Purex" laundry detergent. It's not awful, awful and might be really good for a sticky, hot, summer day but it's not really something I want to smell like ALL the time. On the upside- if you're going for a "clean" smell, what could be cleaner than laundry detergent???

I bought this fragrance about 7 months ago and I loved it but for some reason it has changed on me. It is very classy though.

I don't like it. It is a very strange scent, really *extravagant*, cloying... It is very difficult to describe it.

I HAVE A FRIEND WHO SWEARS BY THIS FRAGRANCE. I DON'T LIKE IT, BUT I CAN NEVER REALLY SMELL IT ON HER BECAUSE IT SUCH A LIGHT SCENT. BUT WHEN I HAVE BORROWED CLOTHES FROM HER I CAN SMELL IT AND IT DOES SMELL VERY LIGHT AND CLEAN. SHE SAYS NO ONE REALLY NOTICES WHEN SHE HAS IT ON BUT HER CLOTHES HOLD THE SCENT AND SHE LOVES THAT FRESH CLEAN SMELL THAT IT HAS.

Softly woodsy with a soft smell of tender flowers as well. This fragrance can fit anyone's needs. Beautiful isn't enough to describe it!
