Not an offensive scent, but not really a good one. To me it smells kind of cheap, like a drug store quality type scent. Theres nothing unique or memorable at all. It reminds me of those ,,I've smelled it before,, type scents that Liz Claiborne Co. and Elizabeth Arden Co. keep putting out. Blah :-P

I just tried the new "Purple Lips" it has violets blueberries lilac and vanilla accord, absolutely beautiful!

I bought this because of the wonderfull posts here. At first it is typical fruity just like so many. Then it turns kind of powdery and yucky...I am glad everyone loves it so much. But a couple of my friends thought it was cheap drug store quality. I couldn't give it away

Maya, I've read in a different perfume post that you think Paul Smith London is a creamier version of Ruby Lips! I just wanted to tell you I am absolutely smitten with London, and I've just purchased a 3.4 oz bottle! I have been curious about Ruby Lips for a long time, so I was GRATEFUL for your input when you compared it to our beloved London! Now, just to be sure, how do you think Madness, Ruby Lips, and London all compare? The only one I've sniffed is London, and I'm head over heels for it, as you can see! Do you think Madness and Ruby Lips are worth purchasing, too, or are they too similar to London? Any advice would be very appreciated! THANK YOU!!!!! :-D

Good to hear from you again :) Thank you for the recommendation of Madness I do love it as you have guessed correctly! It's hilarious how easily you can get to know a person without even having set your eyes on them or having met them, just by knowing what fragrances they enjoy! I really loved Portugal... Ruby Lips as well as Black Cashmere will always somehow remind me of last summer. Just like 360 will always remind me of a vacation of '96 :) I just wanted to mention that the Paul Smith you should try is the one in a dark red bottle called Paul Smith London. There are three well now four I think fragrances by him for ladies and this was a third one I believe released in 2004 the new one I have not tried yet by it's on OsMoz.com called Paul Smith Floral released in 2005 and is in the same shape of the bottle as the London but instead of red bottle is in a whitish one with yellow and orangy top... I think you would like it, so I look forward to hearing from you... by the way I'll leave you my e-mail address in case you ever wanted to get in touch that way... here it is ... [email protected]

Don't you love Portugal? I remember you'd mentioned that country vis-a-vis Black Cashmere, which was absolutely uncanny, because Black Cashmere always reminds me of those old churches in Lisbon with the smell of old wood and spicy incense. Ruby Lips sounds irresistible, so I'll be trying to track it down. Being from Vancouver, I find it frustrating to read about all this gorgeous scents without being able to try them. But Holt Renfrew has Paul Smith, I believe, so I'm going to scoot down there ASAP and have a sniff. Sounds delicious. Speaking of "red" scents -- cuz I know you love Brit Red -- you might try Madness by Chopard for a real blast of dark cherry, spicy goodness! xxoo R.

Hi ladies, the new Paul Smith London is very much like Ruby Lips only a bit more creamier, if I can say that, on the base... both are just stunningly beautiful fragrances and both are so deeply red!!!!

Ruby Lips is such a wonderful fragrance. It starts off slightly fruity and vibrant and stays fresh while it maintains sensuality on a high note! I call this a RED perfume, and it also just happens to be encased in a very adventurous, passionate looking bottle with red accents and Ruby Red Lips. The scent is super sexy, one my fiancé's ultimate favorites - and thus mine. We found it in Portugal this summer while on vacation, but it's really hard to find here in Canada. Glad to have found it on this site since we only got a 30ml to try - and I'm going through it pretty fast. I'm sure as soon as this one is out I will be looking to replace it with another bottle -- a bigger one. And the other amazing thing is that the price I will be able to get it here for a 100ml is less than I ended up paying for the 30ml in Portugal :)

Good day wear fragrance- fruity and floral (hint of roses but not too overpowering) and not as sweet as many other daytime fragrances, which are often too sugary

This is the descriptions I found and just totally agree with it!!! I love this scent! "Salvador Dali has created the perfect scent for women who are adventurous, mischievous and sensual. Best thing is, they aren't afraid to flaunt it. With a column of deep red kisses, even the bottle exudes sexiness. The fragrance itself begins with subtle fruity undertones and is vibrant and fresh to wear. Ruby Lips is the perfect accompaniment to a sexy night on the town." My boyfriend is totally enamored by this scent and out of upwards of 30+ of my fragrances this is by far his favorite... This scent just oozes sweet sexiness! If I could I would give it 10*, but it's funny not more people have found this amazing fragrance, or reviewed it here!

I love Ruby Lips. It is such a unique fragrance. It is a strong floral at first but after it gets to the base note it is wonderful. The bottle is also designed after Mae West's lips, which I find to be a really neat fact.
