My husband loves this and I introduced it to him. I have been searching for this since 1998 when it disappeared from Perfumeries around Brisbane and unobtainable, so I thought until now but a waiting list unfortunately and not sure for how long :(

  • CRIS01/31/2012

Please bring Chaps back, it is the only fragrance that I love on my husband! I have not been able to find anything like it since!

  • GARY01/10/2012

Bring it back! I've used this for over 30 years! I am lost!

  • JERRY MAHON10/20/2011

Please put the old style Chaps Spray 3.4oz Cologne back on the market. Everyone I'm around loves that smell. I don't know way it is not available any longer. Don't fix what isn't broke

  • TED05/11/2011

I have been using Chaps aftershave since 1979. Married twice and both wives thought it smelled very good. I have recieved several coments about how nice it smelled from other women. Negative cimments are from gays.

  • JOHN04/21/2011

Hey, wake up and get real. Men like this product cause the women LOVE the smell

  • B.S.03/20/2011

WHAT A FABULOUS SCENT THAT THE LADIES WILL WANNA STICK CLOSE TO YOU WHENEVER THEY CATCH THE 1ST WHIFF OF IT ON YOU, FELLAS!!

  • JOHN03/15/2011

used Chaps for years prior to it been taken off the market. Glad to see it available again. Always received compliments. Last all day plus. Musk ingredient. Mixes with individual scent, to provide unique fragrance.

  • DANNY03/03/2011

Why doesn't Ralph Lauren wake up? People still want to buy Chaps. Give us a break.

  • SALLY05/21/2010

I wish you could get this my husband loves this brand and you can't buy it in any store any more.. Only the spray cologne and you can't find it in any store here in Michigan.. Were else can we buy it???

  • W.H. OAMI05/01/2010

Honestly, I believe that the critics of this perfume don't have olfactory lobes. This remains one of the scents that has held it's own and really smells fresh

  • NORM BENN04/23/2010

I have benn using this Chaps cologne ever since it came out on the market. I used many differant colognes and found this to be the best nfor me. I used expensive colognes and still come back to Chap's!

  • WENDY12/21/2009

Some red wine n a man wearin this......someone's gonna be draggin a leg.

  • D GREGORY12/06/2009

My husband wears Chaps aftershave and has for as long as we have been together 18years and even before that. He has tried others only because of the cost, but he came back to Chaps. I noticed that there are vast differences in price depending on what web site you go to.

  • CMG04/03/2009

I have loved the smell of Chaps on my husband for years and when he's wearing it with the smell of a leather coat --it's even better.

  • PAM06/21/2008

My husband captured my educated heart and everything else with this scent 20 years ago. He was then and is now an intelligent, capable, sophisticated man of integrity that can take care of himself in any situation from the executive board room to rebuilding engines for sport. He is a man's man. He buys the cologne because it speaks sexy to me, not because of price, packaging, or the location of purchase and definitely NOT because of what another man thinks. He is not that kind of man. In my opinion those "men" smell like a woman. No thanks.

  • BBD06/20/2008

I laugh at all the bad reviews of Chaps... Classic for its period (late 70s-80s), Chaps is far more complex than people give it credit for. Sure, it packs a whallop when first applied, but so does M7, Kouros, Polo and other classics. The drydown is quite lovely - the pungent herbal notes soften as more musk and woods notes present themselves. After a couple hours Chaps is a tame but masculine presence. This is not for children, especially not for those raised in the late 90s who don't have the frame of reference to remember what real men smelled like. Everyone complains about modern fragrances' lack of sillage and longevity, which Chaps has in spades, but then complain when presented with a fragrance like Chaps.

  • JD12/25/2007

Some of the people on this post seem to not have well-functioning olfactory senses. Chaps smells great and is not trashy. Sorry but you are wrong........

  • CHAPSY FORSCYTHE08/20/2007

My Husband was in the 1984 Chaps Cologne commercial and he does not smell cheap. he smells like a hunky cowboy! YEE-HAW!

  • THE EXECUTIVE04/19/2007

Chaps is one of those bottled stenches that you find at your local chain pharmacy. The usual wearers are mullet headed rednecks who buy it when Stetson is out of stock, and other assorted white trash. For those who value making a good first impression, stay away from this stuff. It is cheap, smells absolutely horrible, and making matters worse it is strong as hell. You are better off wringing the water from a piece of dog waste and splashing it on than you would be with this pungent leathery spray.

  • D. J. GARCELON02/04/2007

I agree with you that Chaps is a darned good-smeliling cologne. A man's chemistry is what should dictate his cologne - not price. I bought him several pricey colognes over the years, for a little variety, but Chaps is always what smelled the best on him.

  • D. J. GARCELON02/04/2007

My husband got me by wearing it, and I've kept him by buying it for him.

  • MATT P. K.12/21/2006

Mediocre and of the Stetson level in my opinion. Not a bad smell, just not very sophisticated.

  • BILL06/15/2006

This really isn't all that bad.... I'm a bit tainted due to me growing up in the 90's.... but hey, who still like CK One anyway? Scents go in and out of style, but true style comes with knowing what you can and can't wear. This doesn't necessarily fit the older male in particular, but it does seem to bring to mind that guy who has gotten his hands dirty once or twice. I know the metrosexual male seems to be getting all the pussy these days and even I fell into that trend, but there's something missing when a man just can't get back in touch with good ole' fashioned masculinity.

  • DAVE LIVESEY02/27/2006

Woeful, this fragrance does not smell of designer quality at all, i can think of many descriptive words for this but just plain "BAD" will do. Avoid at all costs. Shame on you Ralph! Shame indeed.

  • GQROCKER12/29/2005

I'm surprised by all the negative comments on here. I've been using Chaps for yrs. since it's inexpensive & have always received favorable comments from women on it. Heck, I've picked up strippers wearing this!

  • TONY T10/17/2005

also with some leather and pig sweat in this one. my buddy wore this in high school and he had halotoschis. i spelled it wrong but the worst breath of all. this is hands down in my top 3 worst colognes of all time along with ultraviolet man and m7

  • ERIC08/05/2005

Ralph Lauren fragrances have never been my thing but this takes the cake as the worst of the bunch. It really is bad, like old crusty ass. I can't imagine anyone complimenting someone on this other than trying to be kind or phony. It is akin to taking your hand and scraping your hand in the inside of a dump truck and wiping it on your neck and then you have the refreshing smell of Chaps.

  • MIKE07/06/2005

I bought Chaps at a very low price because it smelled OK out of the bottle. Once it was applied, leather and sweat came to mind (just as I and I thought 3 years ago, according to an earlier review). So I guess it wound up not being much of a bargain at all.

  • MARIO JUSTINIANI06/28/2005

Let The Sixties Die. Yeah, I know, created in 1979. Still if you have your Carly Simon LP's I think you can safely host a retro lava lamp party and wear Chaps. Not really a bad cologne, especially compared to some of the hyped up junk at the mall but, alas, it's passe. Guess if Ben Affleck were to wear it as he spikes a set to win The World Series of Poker, it would be all the rage. But there are bettter choices out there. Some brand new and some, like the original rustic box Dunhill from 1934! And yes, the haters are frothing too much at the mouth because it's inexpensive. May they plunk their wad on Angel Amen or the new seaweed based Acqua Bvlgari.

  • CHAPS12/29/2004

this a reall cologne for a good price and smells pretty good.DOES NOT smell like what some crazy people on here say it does, just pretty good.

  • BRETT11/30/2004

this stuff is great. women tend to love this scent. I guess its how you wear it. Its not cheap, just inexspensive

  • DAVID11/27/2004

i dont know why there is such a bad reponce to chaps i get a lot of woman telling me i smell great and even have been told im licky they are married and hs even got me a few really late nights if you know what i mean

  • KASHIF11/17/2004

hey guys i have seen this perfume first when i tried it.it is excellent ......go on and try it.....

  • STU05/24/2004

I'm surprised sourbah hasn't heard any bad comments from people about this horror. They probably talk behind your back. I'm not thrilled by any Lauren Men's fragrances but this one is by far the worst. But you go for yours.

  • SOURABH05/05/2004

Still cannt believe so many people hate Chaps. I bought this cologne and am in love with it ever since. Got lots of compliments from women. It is recommended for casual wear, sophisticated and classy scent, very different. I have used this for over an year but havent heard any bad remarks about it.

  • JERMY03/20/2004

i took it one time the who work place saide someone smells cheap

  • ROBERT02/07/2004

Really great scent, I think....been wearing it for years with lots of compliments. Doeesn't have that heavy, flowery smell I detest...like Polo. Give it a try... I think some of these negative folks have not "lived" with it....

  • A. NONY. MOUSE10/22/2003

I will admit I don't wear this often, but I really like it. Has a nice, powdery dry-down. I suspect the bad reviews are due to snobbery of some sort. Chaps is inexpensive as far as Ralph Lauren goes, it's too bad it has become disowned in a way

  • LIBBYECE10/14/2003

When every I am away from my man this brings back wonderful memories, shame on those who say it smells like wet leather obviously you have never smelled wet leather

  • ALLEN07/16/2003

I am surprised by the negative comments. Chaps is a great scent which lasts all day. Always get compliments. Perhaps the negativity comes from a sort of snobbery. Chaps is inexpensive.

  • THE WORST DESIGN EVER04/23/2003

God, what kind of bottle is this?? And its box?? I bet the cow's medicines have a better design. RL, this a shame for you.

  • RICH01/09/2003

No, this is good for no good, Western or otherwise. If Lauren didn't own when it came out why ever did he put his name on it. It's horrible.

  • ELLE12/28/2002

You know Ralph Lauren didn'y own this one when it came out and it is a very western scent. Not something for New York, Chicago or L.A. but for a farmer are a cowboy or just a western kind of guy this would be fantastic!

  • I AND I09/13/2002

this is the worst. i've never liked any rl scents and this one's no different. i tried a tester and it did smell of wet leather.

  • RALPH MOUTH04/04/2002

Yeah....smells like a cowboy alright. sopping wet leather and steaming cow pies. Brillinat. What a turn on!

  • MACK02/21/2002

Hideous. Wet leather and you know what...

  • DEBORAH01/27/2001

Chaps is wonderful, the only thing my husband will wear.
