Why O'h Why have they stopped this wonderful perfume have had this since it first came out and can tell you every man I have ever met has spoke about the fantasic smell. They have missed a great product by not giving it the advertising it should have had shame on you Vivienne bring it back no one has been a libertine like you

  • DEE 03/18/2012

please bring it back has always been a favourite since discovering many years ago

  • WILMA SICCAMA02/05/2012

Please bring it back!!! It's the most lovely smell of the world. I miss it and I need it very much!

  • WAYDE01/10/2012

I originally bought this for my wife many years ago and it became her signature scent. 12 years later, I really love the smell and it really has a sensuosness that stills gets my attention (wink-wink)

  • JEANETTE08/31/2011

I say bring it back Pleassseeee........Love it & miss it sooo much!!!

  • CINDY JARAMILLO03/26/2011

when if at all are you to start selling this perfume again..Abolutely love it ..Would love to purchase some..

  • MECHE12/06/2008

Love Libertine, Very powerful! So a little goes a long way. For those who do not like it. Try spraying very little.

  • LOUISE10/03/2008

I absolutely completely disagree with the below comment, it smells nothing like insect killer. It may not be to everyones tastes but that is the point like the great grand dame vivienne herself, you either love her or hate her. This is my signature scent, its been discontinued for a couple of years and stocks are very low in the UK. It is only available in Vivienne Westwood stores over here. My absolute favourite for years, i am soooo upset that very soon i wont be able to get hold of this unique scent!

  • SARAH09/05/2008

This nothing like an Estee Lauder or Paloma Picasso scent. Smells more like your average brand of insect killer. save yourself the money and buy a can of bug spray from the supermarket rather than purchasing this.

  • CYN02/21/2008

If you like this fragrance you might want to try Paloma Picasso or Knowing by Estee Lauder. They are both chypre, and when I bought Libertine, I thought this is just like Paloma Picasso! Diorella by Christian Dior is also very similar, but a little sharper. However, I was sad that Libertine was not more like Cristalle by Chanel - a beautiful, light chypre with an unique green freshness I have yet to find any other fragrance quite like it.

  • FRAGRANCE JUNKIE02/20/2008

Well I just found another perfume that smells heavenly to me. Libertine is lovely! I didn't know what to expect from the posts, and the description almost turned me off since I am not a huge chypre fan. On me, Libertine smells a tad like Miss Dior Cherie, which I love, without being quite as sweet. This perfume is soft and ethereal, yet has tremendous staying power, especially for an edt! I can still smell it this morning from having tried it last night. And even though it is soft, it has presence which so many other soft fragrances lack. Libertine is an innocent, heavenly floral with light green notes blended in. I don't usually go for florals, so this one must have enough other notes to balance the floral tones out. I am disappointed to learn that it is no longer available. Another great scent that bites the dust. Thank goodness for these internet companies that can still locate some stock.

  • PINKIE08/14/2007

most remarkable i have had this bottle of body veil for years and ran across it recently. how could i forget what a great product this is? not only does it feel great on my skin, it smells just as marvelous as when i first got it! using it on my face to enjoy what little i have left of it and the super way it makes my skin feel! where can i get more????

  • LE NEZ05/05/2007

I have had a bottle of this stuff since 2003 and it changes every time I spray it. It is light, clean and fruity, yet not too sweet. Very good in the Summer. The only problem with it is finding a bottle on your local shelves. American distibution is terrible with this designer. Thankfully, the internet makes this search easier.

  • GREEKGIRL04/12/2007

To all fans of libertine you might like to try Miss Dior Cherie as it smells very similar to Libertine the closest ive found so far.

  • VENICE WEST09/19/2006

I love Libertine.I have to have it.Having a hard time finding it on-line now.Everywhere its sold out.Any suggestions.

  • ANGELIQUE07/05/2006

Again, this is another of those scents whose top notes I love, but where the dry-down just doesn't agree with my senses. I don't actually hate it, but it's not the kind of scent I'd go out of my way to wear.

  • MIMI05/18/2006

Perfumer,I enjoyed reading your post since I feel exactly the same way about Libertine-divine,unique and my absolut favorite.I have been trying hard to find something that might resemble it since it has been discontinued but nothing is even close,so I have to keep on piling my stock of this trasure.

  • PERFUMER04/27/2006

Since I bought Libertine,...Yes, I went out and bought so many other perfumes..heehee..just because I'm a perfume junkie. But no more! I've concluded that I was wasting so much of my hard earned money by purchasing these sorry-ass perfumes...I'M ALWAYS GOING BACK TO MY #1 PERFUME--LIBERTINE! Cause nothing else can compete with this scent. Serioulsly! I have 56 different perfumes not including ones that I threw away and none of these can compare to my Libertine. I bought Libertine body lotion, shower jel, which are just as lovely as the perfume. The only time my fiance tells me "mmmmm...you smell good!!" is only when I wear this magical scent. I'm so glad that this perfume is not sold at department stores cause I don't want everybody and their mom wearing it. This is for truly unique and special ladies only...the lucky ladies with an exceptional taste!

  • TBUZZ04/20/2006

I also bought this without smelling first cause it sounded good (Gwen Stephani and all) but it is not good at all. Will never do that again.

  • MARTA03/25/2006

Now, this fragrance really drives me crazy. It has nany different "faces", it changes from the weirdo into the lovely soft, sexy multidimentional fragrance. I love it. I bought it "just like that", because I loved the name of it and I loved the little baby - devil on the box. But, damn it - it was worth it! Super-soft, vibrating, mossy smell.Yes,yes, yes!Drives gguys wild, believe me.

  • MATUSHA01/12/2006

A perfume "subtle and yet impertinent", extremely female and wrongfully innocent. BOUDOIR wakes up the directions with a provocative sensuality. An innocent perfume, traditional, traditional, discrete, reserved, strict, close friend and yet modern, eccentric, daring, voluptuous, sexy, exuberant... Note head: flower of viorne, tangerine, bergamot Note heart: flower of tobacco, coriandre, Florentin iris, English red pink Basic note: sandalwood, vanilla, amber

  • MATUSHA01/12/2006

The last born of the famous English dressmaker announces "very shocking". In opening, a yellow fruit harmony will start your passion, then your heart will ignite in a white bunch of flowers. Lastly, in plenitude, the sensual agreements of the patchouli and the foam of oak will agree marvelously with amber and the musk to find an astonishing chypré bottom. A perfume of an extreme sensuality, for a woman extravertie and without secrecy. Note head: grapefruit, pineapple, fruit of passion Note heart: lily, luguet, chèvrefeuille, flower of viorne, flower of Rose Basic note: patchouli, foam of oak, amber, musk

  • LAURA12/07/2005

I got this perfume because I love Gwen Stefani...but sadly the perfume was not everything that I expected. It stinks like old lady perfume, actually reminds me of avon perfume.

  • FREDERIQUE11/21/2005

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH MORE THAN LIBERTINE. HOW COME YOU GUYS DON'T SELL THIS? I COULD'VE SWORN YOU USED TO CARRY IT. I'M REALLY BUMMED OUT! THIS SITE NEEDS BOUDOIR!

  • TAMMY11/09/2005

On the perfume board I frequent, we were discussing the difficulty in finding Boudoir so one of the members emailed VivienneWestwood.com. While the Boudoir fragrance is still in production, the Westwood company email did state that Libertine has been discontinued. Sorry to all those who love this fragrance.

  • PERFUMER11/08/2005

I just got this perfume today! First when I sprayed it, I thought it stunk and was ready to return it, but after a while I fell in love with this! I was imagining something totally different scent before I received it...I thought it would smell something like fruity and young. But, it smells different than I expected...just awesome...I don't know how to describe the scent in words. To me, this is something I've never smelled before. This perfume is my signature scent of the moment because no one else will smell like me. Nothing smells special like Libertine. I feel so special wearing this!!! Now I know why Victoria Beckham and Gwen Stefani like this perfume. I'm in heaven! Thank you Libertine!

  • KISSYSTAR09/26/2005

This is what I found and totally agree with that opinion! "Libertine opens a mood of freedom and optimism, with the bright, sun-drenched notes of yellow fruit: a harmony of Grapefruit and Pineapple set against the sparkle of Bergamot. The Libertine woman is born to search for beauty, seeking out things of the mind for their own sake, finding pleasure in them as they are. The world is her horizon. This sensuous fruity/floral features Viburnum, Patchouli, Oak Moss, Musk, Rose, Grapefruit, Amber, Pineapple, Lily-of-the-Valley, Honeysuckle, Bergamot. Gorgeous!

  • *MAYA*08/30/2005

I am very curious about this one... Pineapple sounds a bit like Presence by MontBlanc? Would anyone have the answer? Does it at all resemble Presence

  • JENNA07/12/2005

Someone said they didn't like this as well as Boudoir. I can't stand Boudoir (too 1920s?) but adore this. It's a young, sexy, sophisticated day fragrance.

  • BEV01/25/2005

Libertine is a fresh light floral scent with a hint of pineapple. It smells a lot like the new Hermes fragrance- Eau Des Merveilles

  • MARY12/31/2004

I read that this is Gwen Stefanis favorite perfume, so I am curious to know what it smells like. Could someone give a description of how smells on them?

  • NANA06/17/2004

I love Libertine. I suffer from asthma, and that means I can't tolerate/wear a lot of fragrances because of their "chemical" make-up. I can wear the "oldies" like Chanel No. 5, Joy, White Shoulders, etc. with no problem. And I can wear Libertine too....which is great, cause I really love the scent. It has been my favorite for the last year or so, and I'm happy to find a place where I can buy it.

  • LILY04/03/2004

Having reached a milestone birthday recently, I've been looking for a scent that is sophisticated without being heavy. Bingo! Plus you should look up Webster's definition of the word, libertine. It's delicious!

  • ADRIANNE03/17/2004

I like Libertine very much. I tried it the first time through the Spiegel catalogue and loved it. I wasn't able to find it anymore, until I came across this website. Now I am going to order a few bottles to last me for awhile. I also found this scent mixes well along with clear musk oil as an underlying scent.

  • CK11/14/2003

This is a chypre with a smooth statement. I also got complimented on this too, by others who were around me!

  • LIZ06/25/2003

I love Libertine! At work people have come into the office having followed the fragrance down the hall.

  • APACHEDOLL04/08/2003

Lovely scent. However, one must remember that all perfumes react differently to each individual. The end resulting fragrance is the combination of the perfume and your body chemistry.

  • BARB03/27/2003

I absolutely love Libertine. It is the first fragrance I've worn evryday in over 3 years. My husband loves it almost as much as I do. I think I'll be wearing Libertine for a very long time.

  • ANN12/04/2002

I love this scent for summer. I adore Boudoir but find it too heavy when it's hot. But Libertine is a great solution for this problem. It's citrusy but doesn't smell too sour. And it still has that same warm undertone as Boudoir has. I love it! The body lotion is great too.

  • INES12/01/2002

    Heavy, cloying, offensive...

  • ANNE11/27/2002

I can wear it!! and no one ever noticed it's libertine, and what, a friend of mine who disliked this fragrance said to me,"what you wearin'?? that's sooo nice. "

  • DANA11/27/2002

I love the name and the fragrance!! It's a great spring scent - very energizing

  • EILEEN10/22/2002

I find the fragrance subtle and lovely and mercifully different from perfumes that revolve around raspberries or peaches. It smells old fashioned in that respect. But this is a scent I want to get closer to. Do try for yourself before you buy. Some people even like Angel, one I couldn't stand despite rave comments.

  • DG09/19/2002

Can't describe how disgusting is this fragrance to me. Can't understand how anyone can wear it.

  • MIMI07/27/2002

Fabulous! Finally I have found a In one word -fabulous!

  • CHINA05/07/2002

I bought a bottle of Libertine and based my decision on the description, not having smelled it first. Big Mistake. To me, this smells like an old lady perfume... no matter how many times I tried to wear it, I could not stand it. I don't think it smells "young" at all...I need to stop buying before testing these perfumes!

  • EMILY04/27/2002

I absolutely love this fragrance!. I find it feminine, sexy, independent and the body lotion is divine!. You've got to experience it!

  • JESSICA04/01/2002

    This is a younger scent.

  • L03/27/2002

This is a very unusual fruity fragrance. You either love it or hate it. Unfortunately my skin reacted to it :(
