I love this fragrance. Wish it lasted longer.

can I find Nirmala Les Feminines by Molinard in a U.S. store to test the smell on myself? I am going to San Antonio, Texas and would like to find it.

  • PERFUME PERSON07/07/2007

This is great and inexpensive. It also lasts a long time. It reminds me of Lolita Lempicka, but not as harsh - that one goes sour on me, but not Nirmala.

  • ANN06/12/2007

I have been using Nirmala for several years now. It seems that every time I wear it, some one asks me what fragrance I am wearing so they can buy it!

  • GREEKGIRL10/18/2006

I once read that Thierry Muglers mother used to wear this scent, hmmm wonder if thats where he got his inspiration from? btw love this, but prefer Angel.

  • DAWN03/26/2006

I bought a bottle and was so excited to get it, the price and reviews were so great. When I finally smelled Nirmala for the first time I was actually confused by the aroma. The blend of floral, citrus and spice makes such an odd combo that I had to spend all evening pondering my true opinion. I boiled it down and... I don't like it. There's an obnoxious kick to it that really turned me off.

  • VIVIAN P02/14/2006

I bought this because so many people said it smelled like Angel which I love and ,actually, the opening notes were just a bit similar. Unfortunately, within moments it smelled like a sweaty, dirty man. NOT GOOD

  • VIVIAN P02/09/2006

Sprayed this on my freshly showered body and loved the opening notes which remind me of Angel which I LOVE. Within a few moments it smelled more like a dirty sweaty man than anything akin to perfume. Never had an experience like this before...anyone have any idea which ingredient could cause this? Want to make sure I avoid anything similar in the future!!!

Nirmala was first created as a modern fantasy for royal women who understand the secrets and mystery of feminity. Nirmala is an ideal blend of the purest beauty of the fleurs-des-isles and the passion of scented fruits fom fragant gardens: A note of mystery taken from an exotic vanilla found only in orchids. A scent appealing to artistic and mystical women. Top notes of mango, passion fruit, grapefruit and mandarine. Middle notes of jasmine. Base notes of tonka bean, sandalwood, vanilla and cedarwood.

  • MATUSHA01/12/2006

The new "Nirmala" is a modern fragance with the original sunny citrus fruits flight (tangerine, grapefruit) and of exotic fruits (passion, mango); then a heart elegant and coloured jasmine and flowers of the islands; on a broad bean tonka and exotic vanilla bottom, sumptuous, heat and major of sandalwood, of blue cedar, sensual and tough by its musky notes. Note head: tangerine, grapefruit, passion, mango Note heart: jasmine, flowers of the islands Basic note: exotic vanilla, broad bean tonka, sandalwood, blue cedar

I've worn Angel for many years and I love it SO... I had to try Nirmala after receiving the Molinard Patchouli (which I love and you will too if you love Patchouli) and after reading the message board about Nirmala. I think Nirmala is beautiful... It smells very "similar" to Angel but it's not quite as heavy initially and it's top notes are fruitier. It dries down quicker than Angel and smells less like chocolate. It smells alittle like an essential oil I bought once from "The Body Shop" called "Ananya". I LOVE both Nirmala and Angel for their similaries and their differences. They are both very intoxicating and unique. One more quick note... if you are in health care and work with patients, the Nirmala may be the way to go. I had been told by an Angel representative, that patients complained about the boldness of Angel and that was the basis of Tierry Mugler launching a softer version of Angel (Angel Innocent). Well, Nirmala blows Angel Innocent away... It can be worn whenever and wherever... BEAUTIFUL!

I just love this fragrance! It has been compared to Angel, but in my opinion there is no comparison. Nirmala is exceedingly seductive and intoxicating, while I find Angel to be far to strong and just crude. Angel is totally in your face kind of a fragrance whereas Nirmala, while definitely there is softer and seductive in a warm and lingering kind of way. Additional bonus is that there is a subtle but definitely there scent of vetiver oil which possesses pretty intense sedative property that had been traditionally used in aromatherapy for relieving stress, and anxiety as well as insomnia. So on top of being able to enjoy a fabulous fragrance and smell excitingly enticing, you also feel that cool sexiness that comes only from a relaxed self-confidence that Nirmala is sure to give :)

  • MEOW-MEOW07/23/2005

Nirmala comes first. It was launched in 1955 while Angel appeared in 1992. I think Nirmala smells fruitier, and it doesn't have chocolate note in it. It's a very nice scent!! Love it in very cold days.

  • A QUESTION06/15/2005

How can this be the scent that Thierry Mugler copied? I read somewhere that this is not the original scent. Does anyone have the straight information on this? TIA :-)

  • M05/12/2005

..as Sylvie comment in her posting. By the way, it´s always very interesting to read Sylvies initiated postings about different perfumes. A great expert!! Now to Nirmala: This one you have to be in the exact right mood to wear because it is a very difficult scent! I think it´s a mixture between Hannae Mori and Dune with som additions of earth, bug-spray and detergent. It´s also very sweet. In spite of that it smells good!!! My husband, who is very delicate with perfumes, to my amazement say´s it smells good on me, not one of the top ten but good enough to wear sometimes in fall/winter.

  • SYLVIE12/22/2004

Smells like a sweaty Angel. Not a heaven-sent scent :-( Love the legendary HABANITA and Molinard de Molinard. NIRMALA is very eccentric. Not fine balanced and not unique (bad Angel clone)...

  • JENN07/09/2004

I have never smelled a scent that was so horrible on me. It actually smelled like old sweat on me.

  • LISA05/26/2004

I really love this, it's light but has substance...smells very feminine...citrus notes, a smokiness, floral and some gourmand notes but it's not sweet or heavy. Lovely. It is a bit like Angel Innocent, which I also love. But Nirmala is better.

  • ANTOINE02/07/2004

I have been visiting the molinard factory in Nice, and this shop is marvellous, nice smell such as nirmala, but I am in love with the green mouse from molinard. if you making a stop by Nice come there, wonderful team, nice furnitures and charming fragrances

  • CHASITY11/19/2003

This scent has been out way before Angel's 1992 release. I luv the fragrance Angel, however Nirmala is more defined and refined than Angel. I have never ever received more compliments (from both sexes) on another perfume than I have on Nirmala. It is a must try.

  • ELLIZA10/08/2003

molinard is usually so interesting. not always good-smelling, but interesting. this one, it starts off with faint apple, lemon, then moves quickly into sandalwood with a vanilla overcast. well, sort of sandalwood. you know when you've just sharpened a pencil, and the wood has that, umm, specific body parts odor. not a BAD odor, but a strong, distinctive scent, like nothing else except the sheets in the morning? this has that smell. i'm not sure if it's in a good way or not. i'm so wierded out by the notion of broadcasting that particular intimate scent that i haven't tried it yet. it might smell much better, or, well, different on someone else. i'll probably give my bottle away. not the usual exquisite floral i associate with molinard.

  • ERIKA04/05/2003

Smells good even in the bottle, but do be careful and don't use too much. Maybe walk into a mist because I put too much on first couple of times and got nauseous and had to wash all of my clothes and bed linens! Then I had to wait until I'd forgotten the smell for a few days and try again. Just don't over-do it! It's very nice, though. I save a star for the amazing stuff. Also, Molinard's "Habanita" and "Patchouli" are nice. At first I was like, "ew!" sent them right back, and then I smelled my wrists on and wondered if I'd acted rashly because they relaxed into nice smells. The I smelled the sleeves of my bathrobe the next day and how the smell had mellowed and I re-ordered both perfumes! Silly me. I expect soooo much from a perfume right away. I used to love "Opium" when I was in high school, but it just doesn't smell as rich on me anymore...so I'm searching for new good smell. This is fun! But Habanita...give it a try, and wait until it mellows.

  • KRISTEN01/28/2003

Where can i find Nirmala to smell if i like it?

  • KATHY G.01/21/2003

I ordered Nirmala eau de toilette on line, and it arrived yesterday. I hadn't smelled it prior to ordering, so was I pleasantly amazed when I got my first whiff! You are both so right: this is just like Angel, and maybe even better, at a *fraction* of Angel's hefty price tag! I don't know why more people aren't onto this. Probably because it isn't advertised or promoted. Oh well, more for us, right? :)

  • KELLY12/19/2002

If you like angel.......give this a whirl. Much cheaper (just a bonus). and even more yummy than angel itself. Try it!!!

  • SUE11/04/2002

think its the original angel...who copied who?even down to the blue bottle?
