    I love it!...amazing!

  • FRED NORRIS11/06/2009

Grab this while you can! Terracotta centers around a carnation accord with hints of spice, citrus, and other discrete florals. It's a tad light and doesn't last forever, but it's incredibly well constructed.

This is kind of late to the game, but, this fragrance definitely has a clove note in it! I happen to love it, but if you hate clove, avoid this one! Since I was answering, I thought I would rate it too. Lovely!

I loved what I read here about Terracotta, and I just went out and tried it. The first wave is incredible... complex and smooth, with mouth watering spices; distinctly exotic with a sparkle of light on leaves. Dispite the spice, it isn't at all heavy! It doesn't clobber you with incense or with musk. Instead it's Mediterranean and sunny, also distinctly tender and feminine. I couldn't smell the 'terra cotta' explicitly, (just as I couldn't find the "hot sand" in CK summer). As it dried on my skin though, the bright leaves and the complicated Mediteranian spices drifted away, and what remained was the origin of the tender femininity: white flowers. This seemed to get sweeter and sweeter, a pretty fragrance, but disappointingly simple.

No cloves or cinnamon here. It has a very earthy smell. Can't quite identify what it is, sort of peculiar but not unpleasant - like you've been digging in clay soil whilst being surrounded by heady foliage in an enchanted forest. I like it but have to be in the right mood for it.

Does this have cinnamon or cloves in it? I want to try this but I dont want to buy it unsniffed, especially if it has strong cinnamon or clove notes, I hate cinnamon and clove scents.

I had this, but sold it. It's a nice scent - warm, soft and sweet. I liked it but wasen't usually wearing it. The lasting power was weak

As someone mentioned, it´s smells terracotta in the sun. It is soft, warm and unusual. It has some similarities with Royal bain de Champange by Caron. Though the styingpower could be better.

Jo Malone's scent is called NUTMEG AND GINGER not cinnamon. Jo is based in London.

Today I came across Jo Malone's range of scents and her Nutmeg and Cinnamon is very much like Terracotta.

  • AMADAN7411/06/2004

This fragrance reminds me of terracotta that has been baking in the sun. It's not a bad smell, it's warm, sweet, interesting. Just not one of my favorites by Guerlain.

I bought some of this at a bargain basement price recently. It's designed for men and women. It's warm, dry, leathery and spicy and designed with a summery mediterranean feel. If you only like very sweet floral scents you will find this one too masculine so try it first. It may appeal to those who like Dune. The bottle is very attractive with interchangeable lids, both a spray and a cap so you can splash it one.
