  • CAROL12/04/2015

My favorite fragrance very high quality, long lasting and I always receive compliments.

  • CAROL ENDERLE04/29/2015

My favorite fragrance gets compliments consistently.

  • PAULINE02/20/2012

I have been wearing only Sublime EDT since it was first released and I cannot find anything else I like, so I hope they keep making this devine perfume. I am having trouble finding it.

  • JAN11/11/2011

    the best...instant long lasting smell...

  • SAM11/04/2011

I have never had so many compliments about smelling nice as I have when wearing this perfume. I have used it for years and am very disappointed that shops have stopped selling it.

  • SUSAN12/30/2010

The body cream is no longer made. I actually contacted Jean Patou company in Paris by internet and was informed it was no longer made...what a shame, it was wonderful.

  • DAVID12/19/2010

This perfume is great in that it makes me know my wife is present... She is adorable when she wears it... Just wanted to let the other men know it is a winner...

  • ANITA12/16/2009

I have never worn a perfume that elicits so many compliments (maybe Coco M). Like Cindy, this has to be the best of the best. Why it is so difficult to find the body creme is a mystery.

  • CINDY02/11/2009

These two fragrances are very different from each other. They are 2 of my favs, however, sublime has a very distinct citrus/flowery/powdery smell and very sophisticated. Coco M. is also a very elegant scent as well as sublime but I don't think it's as elegant and sensual as Sublime. I get lots of compliments with both but more so on sublime.

  • MIA02/05/2009

I have loved Sublime for years and hate that I can't buy it locally anymore. Why do they do this to fragrances? I'm so glad we have Perfume Emporium to carry the fragrances that never go out of style for us. Please never stop selling Sublime.

  • MJ11/28/2007

Not only do I love this fragrance but men stop me and ask what fragrance I am wearing. They love it, too!

  • C.B.06/26/2007

i normally prefer classic scents and since i like other jean patou fragrances i got this one. upon application it smelled like stinky 'old lady' and after an hour, it was less horrible with powdery-ambery, incence-like drydown. but by no means gorgeous, as others describe. it also turned my stomach and i felt nauseous. i can't stand the chemical smell of Chanel#5, and this one is a bit similar - perhaps both my taste and my skin are incompatible with aldehydic florals.

  • CHRISTINA3405/21/2007

Hi! Unfortunately I don't know Sublime by Jean Patou. My favourite perfume is Coco Mademoiselle. What's the difference between the two perfumes? If anybody knows the both perfumes, please write her/his opinion on. Thank you.

  • MARY ALICE04/18/2007

I haven't tried either but I will. Thank you for the suggestion. I am always up for a new olfactory experience!!

  • MARA04/01/2007

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to this site, but I really appreciate your input. I don't happen to like either Joy or Chanel #5, and I realie these are both extremely popular. I do recommend Missoni and Sira des Indes. Have you tried either one of these? I think either one of these is fabulous. They are totally different, but gorgeous. Hope I'll hear a report on these after you have tried them.

  • MARLYS03/01/2007

Sublime and Boucheron Femme have several notes in common...the citrus, jasmine, sandalwood and amber...and are both wonderfully warm orientals. If you like Sublime, you should give Boucheron a try. Each conveys seductive warmth, but with my body chemistry Sublime is sweeter and less citrusy, drying down to a mildly spicy amber. Boucheron has a bit more bite in the top notes and dries down to a lovely spiked vanilla. They both have incredible staying power on my skin so a bottle of EDP is a great investment.

  • MARY ALICE02/22/2007

Bath and Body Works has a line of amber-scented bath products right now which really enhance the amber in Sublime. Sublime lasts FOREVER on me when I layer it with BBW shower gel and body butter.

  • MARY ALICE02/07/2007

I have both fragrances. Joy is much more floral to me, it has a scent of roses. Sublime is completely different IMO. It is much spicier and very warm with a pleasant drydown that has a vanilla quality to me. I prefer Sublime because it is so unusual and comforting. I use it on my pillow to go to sleep at night. I've gotten many more compliments with Sublime than with Joy. Hope this helps.

  • MARA02/05/2007

Is this fragrance similar to Joy? I, personally, don't like Joy at all.

  • MARY ALICE01/24/2007

I love the floral spiciness of this perfume. I feel classy when I wear it and it lasts on me for hours. The lasting power is important to me because many fragrances do not last on me more than an hour.

  • KINSEY12/21/2006

Sublime is absolutely gorgeous. It's a rich, elegant, unique fragrance that flaunts many moods with complete confidence. It's a perfume for getting noticed, whether you're in the mood for seduction, or the star of a show. Sublime is one of those fragrances that will have a place in olfactory history. It glows.

  • TRISHA HERBERT09/23/2006

I have been using sublime now for many years ans have found it to be alovely fresh clean smell

  • TARA06/14/2006

I like Sublime, but it fades very very fast on my skin, leaving no trace whatsoever. So, I need to spray it onto my clothes. The amber notes are noticeable first to me. And, I put it in the category of my more special occasions perfumes. Some of my other favorites are: Opium, Cinema, Mitsouko, Brit, Burberry London, Good Life, Chic, Ysatis....

  • TANINHA BRAZIL04/01/2006

it is a very sophisticated and elegant fragrance, to be worn on grand occasions AND SPECIAL EVENINGS... words like glamour , classy , womanly , expensive ... go through my mind when i think about it ... it is beautiful ... unlike lola though , the ts does not last on me at all ... to get the magic i desire ...only the ps will do .

  • RAE01/29/2006

After reading the many great reviews on this fragrance, I committed the cardinal sin of perfume buying and ordered it un-smelled. It sounded wonderful and I love to experiement with different fragrances so I thought, what the heck, I'll give it a try. BAD mistake on my part. Sublime smells like Deep Woods Off on me, even after trying it repeatedly. Just doesn't work. Ewww. I'd love to smell it on someone who's chemistry works with it, because all I have to go on is a nasty bug spray impression. Bummer, but I definitely learned my lesson about trying before buying!

  • TAWANA01/20/2006

I just bought this fragrance. I hope I enjoy wearing it. I love this website. Before I buy any fragrance, I will check with you guys first.

  • SABINA11/21/2005

Sublime is a sophisticated, lush composition. Nothing cheap about it. It is full and smooth. Elegant.

  • BEBE03/09/2005

sublime touches my senses.impeccable. holiness. houses of the holy fragrance.a scent id fifght for, very nice

  • JUDI W.02/19/2005

Just to prove a point that is brought up all the time, I sprayed on Sublime about 6 years ago and it smelled really nice but yesterday I did the same thing and it smelled horrible on me. Reason being that I've been going through major health problems and hormonal changes so the same perfume reacts differently chemistry wise. I couldn't believe the difference... pretty much everything smells yucky on me right now so I'm just sticking with the few that smell OK! Body chemistry matters ladies...big time!!!

  • SHARRIE12/28/2004

im a dreamer. my dream came true. romance. shines. a cass of its own. wonderful.amazing. lost in its lavish loveliness.

  • CORINNE11/24/2004

I recieved Patou's "Sublime" foaming bath as a Christmas gift several years ago. It is so strong (in a good way) that you only need a tiny bit (you can put it on a puff and use in the shower instead of in the bath--makes tons of yummy suds). It makes you smell good all day! Now checking out the parfum version....

  • NIKOLA08/25/2004

This is a very spicy perfume that smells like church frankincense. its a very thick scent and I think it would be a nice one for winter

  • SONYA05/31/2004

So glad to have found this site as someone mentioned that this fragrance is becoming hard to find. Love it , love it , love it! I feel rich when I wear it!

  • KAREN05/03/2004

I have been wearing Sublime for a long time and have found nothing that I like better. I was so glad to find that I can still get it through the internet because stores seem to have quit carrying it. I have heard that Jean Patout is going to discontinue it and I pray that is not the case. People always ask me what I am wearing because it smells so good.

  • JILL03/11/2004

Below, I have likened Sublime to Intuition. In fact, they aren't at all alike. Sorry, got confused! :-/

  • JILL 03/07/2004

Classy floral ambery fragrance. Slightly powdery. Good staying power. Estee Lauder's Intuition is similar, but Sublime is softer and more subtle. Like "Apple" on this message board, I keep coming back to it, time and time again. Gorgeous Jean Patou - all the perfumes are sophisticated and elegant.

  • JEN 01/18/2004

They still make it, but I got it in France.

  • K08/13/2003

I was told they were not distributing it in CANADA anymore - I'm (also?) from Toronto. I went through a hundred perfumes to find this and am very upset at the possibility it will not be available at all. I also wrote to the manufacturers for info but never heard back.

  • ANNE08/08/2003

This is one of the very few scents I cannot tolerate whatsoever, and I'm very open minded - I love all kinds of scents. I'm a fair-complexioned redhead and, on me, Sublime turns into something like the rankest stalest odor of sweat, or dried cat pee. No joke! It sure wasn't inexpensive, but it's not for my body chemistry.

  • ELLIZA08/04/2003

VERY heavy on the incense smell. kind of thick on the ground, a few wafts of elsewise (maybe quick draft of jasmine, thought of sandalwood) but overall, you're trapped in a headshop and someone is burning incense nonstop.

  • ANNIE07/27/2003

I love Sublime and have been wearing it for years. I made a special trip into the city and the girl a Holt Renfrew told me it is no longer made. Is this true?

  • JEN07/18/2003

I love this perfume, but I think that I am allergic to it! Unfortunately, it gives me a mild rash on the skin behind my ears. This does not happen at the pulse points on my wrist. Did this happen to anyone else?

  • JEN 07/11/2003

I love this scent...but it does strange things to the skin on my neck...my wrists do not seem to have the same reaction...has anybody else found themselves allergic to this fragrance?

  • PAM07/10/2003

after reading Olatz's post I went and bought Sublime thinking I'll probably return it. But mu husband and I loved it. It's the type of perfume we love. Like original L'Interdit and Caleche, it is aldehydic/floral, woody, powdery, sensuous. I kept it!

  • JOY06/10/2003

This is a nice scent...many of the heavier scents and mid to heavy give me a headache. I do like this scent, but I prefer Quelques Fleurs by Houbigant.

  • APPLE05/12/2003

I used to be a Joy fan, but once I tried Sublime I fell in love with it. I kept trying others like Angel (which I got the most compliments on by men), Byzance, 24 Fauburg, Princess Grace... and I liked them all. But I always return to Sublime and wonder why I wandered. I adore it! And my husband does, too. I won't say I'll never stray, and I will still occasionally wear my others (too expensive to toss) but when I put on my Sublime it makes me happy.

  • ANTONELLA04/17/2003

Like Blackfire 327 said - I agree that this perfume smells "rich". It is very elegant with discrete sensuality. Floral-woody-powdery, soft but not too light, with very good staying power.

  • NAT03/27/2003

Well i spoke too fast I guess. After 5 hours it smelled just like bug spray! *crying* If anyone of you would be able to tellme what ingredient is doing that to me, I would appreciate very very much. Lucky you all who can have that beautiful scent.

  • NAT03/26/2003

I bought sublime without trying it!!!! After reading all your posts I decided that it was my kind of perfume...and YESSSSSSSS that is totally sublime, totally classy, yet young! I simply love it and I know I won't get tired of this scent! THANKS!!!!

  • AURELIE03/18/2003

Quite possibly the absolute best fragrance ever created...IMHO. There has never been a time, whenever I wear it, that total strangers, men and women alike, do not stop me to ask me what I'm wearing. It is tasteful, sensual, beautiful and I can't imagine anyone going wrong with this one.

  • SID03/10/2003

Nothing special, ordinary a very harsh and sour scent, it reminds me how my late grand mother.

  • GLORIA03/10/2003

I just picked up a small bottle yesterday to try before I invested in the large one. I am going to try it for a few days like Lola says. So far I think I am going to love it. It does dry down to a powdery smell. Very classy. I like sensual scents. Nobody has mentioned if men like it. Any responses? I will rate it in a little while. I also bought Quelques Fleur and am trying that also. What would life be without perfume? It is so much a part of my everyday life experience!

  • BLACKFIRE32702/23/2003

Someone sprayed this on me in Neiman-Marcus several years ago, and I have worn it ever since. Although it's recommended for evening wear, my personality and chemistry warrant daily use. This fragrance makes me smell like I have serious money. I counsel my daughters: never, ever wear cheap perfume! Sublime makes me feel sensuous and sexy. I love it and will wear it until it is no longer made.

  • TINAB02/20/2003

As some have mentioned, the initial smell is weird, but the dry down is sexy, wonderful, powdery, everything I love!!!

  • OLATZ02/03/2003

Oriental and spicy notes do not usually blend well with my body chemistry. Sublime by Jean Patou is the exception. It is absolutely sublime on me. I found it at Marshall's last year. And even though they did not have a tester I decided to take a chance since I love Joy and Eau de Patou. I have no regrets. This is a lovely fragrance that I will buy again.

  • LUCIA12/30/2002

    I love Sublime.

  • SHERYL11/19/2002

A friend of mine was wearing Sublime one evening and I could not get it off my mind. Hope it smells just half as beautiful for me! This fragrance is unforgetable.

  • LOLA11/11/2002

I agree with Aimee. When I wear Sublime,I can't really detect the florals or the vanilla, but every single one of my senses reels on the amber and especially the musk. I usually have to be careful, when I wear this, because the base notes are so tenacious that even if I launder my clothes several times in hot water, even after dry-cleaning, I can still smell it,afterwards. Since I happen to love Sublime,it's no big deal, but I reserve certain outfits , accessories, and even bedsheets for when I wear this fragrance, because it permeates everything in its vicinity. My husband loves it,on me, he says it's a very strange blend, (in a good way),because it's the only one that seems to emanate from the skin itself. It's an incredibly potent scent, lasts forever, yet it manages to have this light, ethereal effect that is possible to detect, but impossible to describe .My husband and I went to a huge fundraiser, last night, and I don't remember ever getting so many compliments, questions or comments on my fragrance.I had used the shower gel,the lotion on dripping wet skin, and just a whisper of the scent after patting dry.(By the way, although the parfum was discontinued,Sublime is one of the few blends that can hold its own as a diluted form. The E.D.P,and even the E.D.T manage to be true and long lasting) Word of caution:A friend of mine has a chemistry that doesn't agree with it,and the effect is truly dreadful. You really need to try it carefully, for several days before you splurge.Personally,I love it.Whether or not it agrees with one's chemistry,it is undeniably a fragrance of the highest quality.

  • TIGRUSHKA10/13/2002

A great combination of citrus and vanilla with a powdery drydown. Very classy and sensual scent!

  • LOLA08/27/2002

    Aptly named! gorgeous,high quality fragrance,love it,love it,love it.

  • ADRIANA03/23/2002

    A great fragrance!

  • JENNA03/15/2002

    Sweet spicey and elegant.

  • DINA12/26/2001

Judy and Tatiana, thank you for help. I'm going to try it. Merry Xmas and happy New Year!!!

  • TATIANA12/23/2001

Sublime reminds me Chanel No5, but much more subtle, elegant and a little bit spicy.

  • AIMEE12/20/2001

Ambery/Powdery and light sweet musk.(Couldn't detect the florals.)

  • ANNALISA12/03/2001

    It's really sublime!

  • EMILY11/30/2001

I just tried Sublime eau de parfum for the first time, and I love it. It's very warm and feminine, and I will be purchasing a large bottle as soon as I can! It smells slightly powdery and subtle--absolutely wonderful!

  • JUDY11/20/2001

Sublime doesn't smell like anything else. It is powdery with a touch of citrus. It is a rich scent. I prefer the EDP to the EDT. FYI, my other favorite fragrances are Boucheron EDP, Must de Cartier and Ferre. Hope this helps!

  • DINA11/20/2001

Could anyone compare it to some other well-known fragrance, please ( or describe it better)? Thank you.

  • LIZ11/15/2001

This stuff is delicious! I have worn it for 10 years and have had people follow me around to ask what I am wearing. Smells rich and powdery. I love it. It is getting harder and harder to find, though. It is good to find some bath products here. They do not sell them in stores.

  • WG10/09/2001

Very elegant, refine, subtle fragrance. You will not make mistake if you buy it for yourself or for a present!

  • KARINA07/07/2001

This fragrance is gorgeous- very "French", very feminine. Smells expensive and exclusive, but young and fresh, too, with a joyful aura to it. To me, it smells like sunshine. Highly recommended, and worth every penny!

  • TATIANA04/18/2001

It's a warm, floral-ambery and very feminine scent. Lasts really long.

  • EILEEN03/30/2001

The name does not exaggerate. This scent is voluptuous but subtle. On me, the scent developed slowly, but when it did, I had to turn the car around and buy 2 bottles, to make sure. It's refined and wonderful.

  • COFFEY03/22/2001

Sublime is simply what the name envelopes. It is sublime. This is wonderfully floral scent. It is rich.I love to wear this fragrance especially when it is warm outside. The heat of a warm day just releases the fragrance and it is devine.
