My wife loves it; she often get very positive comments from other women about the delicate nature of her perfume...

Poeme is a suttle yet very fragrant flowery perfume. It's scent stays for a long while and perfumes my clothes also which I love, without losing it's integrity. It's a perfect spring scent but I love it all year around.

I think this perfume is fab,. i buy it all the time and i wear it most days. Problem with this product is that they do not sell it in many shops in the u.k. Its good value for money and it is a perfume that lasts throughout the day, all other perfumes i have tried in the past you have to put on more than once a day.

Absolutely the best perfume I have every had

Ive been thru only one and a half bottles since 2002, I think. It's def not a everyday fragrance and I typically use it in the fall/winter, be- cause it's so heavy. It i truly one of my favorites and I will always have a bottle on my dresser. Lasts all day and night, too!

This is great - careful not to overspray since it is extremely strong. This one is made for winter. At least one compliment each time I wear it.

I've been wearing this since it came out and I've never worn a more lasting wonderful scent. It stays true for at least 12 hours or more. I get compliments on this one too. My only concern is that certain stores did not carry the gift sets this year at holiday time. It seems like possibly they are pulling it back a bit from the stores. I ordered it online. This is one of my all time faves and probably my winter time signature scent.

This fragrance is pure sex allure in a bottle. It is warm, sensuous, yet never overwhelming. My husband loves it, too. I highly recommend it to anybody who likes complex and memorable smells. Will definitely order more in the future.

...handle with care!!! I'm not very interested in fragrances by Lancome: Even Tresor is a successful fragrance here in Europe since many years, I'm not a fan of it. The fruity fragrance is not very complex and too musky in the drydown. I miss something in Tresor, but I like it on other women. I didn't like Magie Noire. Hypnose is a pleasant smell, but only so-so and not very unique. But hey, what a nice surprise when I tried POEME. Is that good! The Eau de Parfum has the power of a concentrate perfume and stays for hours. Very floral-warm-sweet. An inviting ultra-feminine scent. It's incredible. If you like heavy, sweet-florals, Poeme is a must try. Year Introduced: 1996. Scent Type: Floral. Top Notes: Blue poppy, datura candida, rose, freesia, narcissus, jonquil, mimosa, vanilla blossoms.

I hadn't worn Poeme in quite some time, so this past weekend decided to spritz some on at the mall. Well...within an hour, three men stopped me and asked what perfume I was wearing. I couldn't believe it. I haven't owned a bottle in years, but I guess I'll have to make it my next purchase! I had forgotten how good it was, but it was created by my favorite perfumer (Jacques Cavallier), so that explains it...

This perfume has carried me through more years than I can remember. I admittedly have 24 others, but it will always be my favorite and the most commented on. Even the rough crowd of guys at college would ask "what is that? It smells so wonderful".

It's longgg lastinggg.When I'm wearing it,people come and ask what I'm wearing .The day after,my clothes still smell.I love it.

Another year gone (check out my earlier post to see why I'm a "novice" here), so many perfumes tried, and still nothing comes close to matching Poeme as my "signature". Sure its an inividual body chemistry thing and warm musks work for me so well. Maybe Kenzo's Flower in the summer months, and JPG as a brasher more "candy" nightime alternative ? But its Poeme that gets me noticed .... from the Malaysians with our sister company for a two month training course, two of who asked "Laura, what's the perfume you wear and where can I buy it ?" .... guess looking for take home prezzies for wives or girlfriends .... to the young woman walking behind me in the street last week who just had to ask what I was wearing .... powerful stuff ! And did I say before (?) .... guys just love it :-)

I wore this one winter years ago, and enjoyed its sweet, slightly spicy scent. It's very pretty, a "safe" oriental, shouldn't offend too many people. Romantic more than sexy.

I agree that the initial fragrance of Poeme is much too strong and sweet. I sprayed some on my wrist and immediately wanted to wash it off - but it was impossible to make the scent go away... This should be applied sparingly!

I do not like the initial fragrance of Poeme. I find it much too strong, heavy and sweet. But, wait a while. All of that changes into this ambery floral scent that makes you want to crawl into it. I have a huge collection of fragrances, so I don't wear this often, but it is beautiful. However, nothing is as beautiful as Missoni. IMHO

Has anyone tried the body products, do they have a shower gel? what are they like, i like Poeme so much im thinking of getting the whole range, also i must add that this frag is very unique, never come across another that smells anything like it so far.

The first time i smelled this was on a card but i didnt think anything of it till now that i tried it on my skin, wow this has to be the most intoxicating floral scent i have ever whiffed, i normally hate florals but this one is just beautiful, i think the vanilla balances out the florals just beautifully, also has excellent staying power, now in my top five, i just cant get enough of it, also lots of compliments with this one, a winner.

I really think this is a beautiful scent. It took a while for me to really take to it though. I kept going back to try it over some time. I really think I have fallen for this one. Its crept up on me. There must be some romance in this bottle.

It is my understanding that this is an all white floral(although here it says "blue poppy"). It is a linear...which means that it does not have the top, middle and base notes. How to say something without saying a word. It also contains a floral note that is very difficult to find. I love to wear this once in a while...romantic, classic, elegant...a great white floral?

I'm a post-op transsexual girl and want a scent to make me feel really feminine and be noticed. Been using it for two years and "Poem" really works with the guys .... more than anything I've ever worn .... so many compliments - even the psychiatrist who gave me the second referral for my "op" had to write down its name (guess lady friends and presents in mind) before we started our interview !

It's classy, it is strong, intense, sweet, unique and it's lancome. The best fragrance of lancome, in my opinion. The only problem is that I find it too heavy, so it's not my signature fragrance.

Poeme pushes the envelope of fragrance and takes me to some outrageous, flirtatious, over-the-top, blatantly - almost obscene -"smell me and weep" kind of place. Embarrassingly provocative. Very different than anything I have worn up until now. Floral, orange, a touch of tonka . . . sexy. I'm in love.

Poeme works for me and it is all about chemistry. Each time I wear it I get a compliment. I have dry skin and need stronger scents - they are the only scents that last or are noticed on me. This one is an attention grabber for me.

tried this during the mid 90s when it was introduced. this was a tremendously hyped scent......posters everywhere and the scent sprayed at you the moment you entered malls. this one went on to be a favourite with sooooo many people but somehow we could never be best friends !!!! i used up a big bottle telling myself to like it at the next spray.... but unfortunately it never came to pass!!! nope....... not one of my favourites !!!!!

I was purchasing a bottle of Obsession Night as a gift for someone who loves it (personally i find it too masculine) and peered at the bottle of Poeme at the adjacent Lancome counter and decided to give it a spray. I really like it and found myself continually drawing my wrist near to take in another whiff. My 18 yr old son who was with me said wow, that must smell good the way you keep nosing it all the time, let me smell. He did and prounounced that it : "smells like an old lady who is trying hard to smell good". At 38 I didnt think i had hit the geriatric stage yet! He said no your not old but thats what the perfume smells like. I DISAGREE! :) Like a true poem, this fragrance flows, peaks and enlightens the senses.

My boyfriend bought Poeme for me for x-mas last year. I hated it at first but, I swear I have never been complemented more on one scent. Mostly by men. Even if you don't love it I guarantee most around you will.

We all know how it goes; as the years go by we try so many different fragrances looking for that special one that suits us, body, soul and spirit. I first heard about Poeme from a co-worker who wore it on occasion. It was unusual and caught my attention, so I asked her what it was and then she bought me my first bottle as a gift. First of all, it smelled totally different on me than on her, or so I perceived, but that didn't matter because I loved the scent. But most importantly, after wearing this fragrance for three or more years, I am regularly told "You smell wonderful! What fragrance are you wearing?" And this is always by men, much to my husband's great distress. Poeme is beautifully different, it is spicy, musky, sweet and fruity all at once. It seems to change with my mood, but it is always a "Poeme".

My girlfriend wears Poeme quite a lot and when I'm with her I really can't stop myself from burying my face into her neck and going "aaaaaaahhhh" when I smell it on her ! Poeme is a sexy, seductive Perfume that gets my attention 100% !!

I have never had as many compliments . always use very expensiive perfumes, Shalimar, Oscar de Renta, Beautiful,Rapture but this is the one I like the most.

When i wear during my meeting, my boss gave me a compliment "You smell nice" and wanted to send me home after meeting.

I love this fragrance. This is the one for the autumn - THE SIGNATURE scent of the autumn. This is what autumn should smell like in my world of golden autumn fairies. Therefore, this is just a perfection in the autumnal, gold colored world of magic. I love autumn so it's obvious that I would love this smell... Having read so many wonderful things about Poeme on this page, I went out tonight and tried a sample on my wrist and hand. And oh my goodness, what a horrible smell. I was buying my child's school supplies at the time and just had to keep going around the store, but I felt like I was emanating the most awful pong. I came home as quickly as possible and washed and washed and showered, but I STILL can't get the smell out. It makes you wonder what kind of chemicals must be in this perfume for it to smell for so long. The name Poeme suggests a lyrical and romatnic scent, but all I could smell was some kind of bawdy limerick!

Now that I am reading these posts, I wonder if the perfume that knocked me out was poeme, not tresor (see my tresor post) All I know was I happily checking out some plates at a garage sale when a plump bespectacked teacherish lady bumps a long. It's hot summer--first I note florals but then rose and I don't know what smack me in the face, and I'm surrounded by a cloying persistent floral cloud! She wasn't tasteless...just gullible and clueless and apparently thought it was good to drench herself with 5lb of perfume....sigh. what is it about the heavy florals that smell great in fall, but just kill in the summer? it is too bad that araphel, maya and lola quit posting for their comments are greatness!

I bought this perfume because I thought it smelled nice at the store... but when I wear it I feel like I'm a flower garden, rather than a woman! It's not awful, but it's not that great either. I never get compliments when I wear this one... not even from my husband.

The dry down is the best! I love this one! I will always have a bottle of this in my collection.

This perfume is wickedly strong. I know! It lasts for years literally. That guy I kicked out well I found his old jacket in the back of my closet and it still reeked of Poeme 3-4 years later. You get your money's worth!

I love this perfume on me. I get some many compliments on this scent, from both men and women. I agree, one must have the right chemistry to wear it and is definitely RIGHT for me. I have been wearing this scent for 2 years now, have many other perfumes but prefer this one. My lover craves it! This is my signature scent and will stay with it for a very long time!

I love this one, someone I know uses it and I just had to get some. the lotion is great also. It is a very unusual scent. I have over 25 perfumes and this isnt even slightly similar to anything else I have.

This is one I keep coming back to year after year. It lasts and is an awesome warm, sweet, floral, vanillic scent. It is not a fresh fleeting perfume. I love it and always will!

Hi Kate, I know what you mean. If you're looking for something similar, I find that Estee Lauder's Intuition is your best find. It has the amber, and floral-oriental flavour of Poeme, but not as strong. Let me know what you think.

I am a perfume addict. I have everything out there.And I mean everything.Poeme is the best sexy,warm,seductive,long lasting perfume there is.I have the most compliments with this one than anything in my collection. In warm weather I wear Happy from Clinique. On the skin it developes into a fruity,citrus,long lasting fresh pick me up scent.There are so many "fresh" scents out there that last for just a few minutes. I am so sick of that and I am sure you are too. Unite girls and stop buying these watered down new scents that are a rip off.Good luck in your search of the perfect signature fragrance!

Although my signature scent is Tresor, I love Poeme as well. I get compliments with Tresor from both men and women, but I've noticed that men particullarly like poeme. It must be the headier vanilla scent of poeme that attracts the men. Both make me feel beautiful and sexy.

After shopping around for a new scent for a couple of weeks, I came across Poeme at the counter and instantly loved it. The vanilla is alluring and the scent makes people keep smelling- deep breaths! I've gotten compliments already. It is strong- can anyone recommend a very similar fragrance that would be good for daytime/summer wear?

I agree with Gracie(9/20/02, great commend) too. It lasts forever. I put a small piece of sample paper in my wallet last week after I tried it in mall and it still smells so good today. I bought a 1 oz EDT yesterday, and I cann't wait it comes! I wish I bought a bigger one. The best perfume in Lancome.

I was thinking about a perfume for my wife for this Christmas. I was filling up at the gas station, and the lady who was filling up on the opposite side was wearinf poeme. I was taken in by the smell and had to ask her what she was wearing. I am buying this because it grabbed my attention when others have not in years. From a man's point of view.

I know many people are wearing it around and its not unpleasant, just that its characterless, shallow and flat, as if oozing cheap sex appeal in a very straigtforward way. and therefore I regard this one as mediocre.

Without a doubt, this is one of the best fragrances out there! I rediscovered it today and bought it in a gift set. I wore it two years ago and forgot how wonderful it was. It smells heavenly and I feel so happy and confident when I wear it. Must be the vanilla. I went around to various counters testing out all the new fragrances, and none of them can hold a candle to this one!!

I have been in love with this perfume since it came out!! I was only 13, but my parents bought me a small bottle for Christmas that year. I met my high school sweetheart a few months later and he always adored Poeme. I switched perfumes a few times, but always came back to this beautiful fragrance!! I am now 21 and we are getting married next fall!! Poeme still makes him feel sentimental so I wouldn't even imagine wearing anything else for my wedding day!!! (or night!!) I love the mix of sensual florals and vanilla!!! It makes me feel so beautiful and sexy!! I hope they never discontinue this, I have so many wonderful memories with this scent and I will wear it always!!!

It smelled really good when I tested on a paper at the store, but when I sprayed on myself, it was just bad. I normally go well with sweet scent, but something in this perfume doesn't match my body chemistry. So sad :(

I have worn no other fragrance but Poeme for the last 4 years. Everytime I wear it, someone asks me what perfume I'm wearing. I hate to tell them, because I don't want anyone to smell as good as I do!

My favorite! I've worn nothing but for the past year. I'm often complimented on my fragrance, however, I have had friends try this based on how it smells on me and have found it to be horrible with their chemistry. At least this way I don't smell like everyone else!

My first exposure to Poeme was in the church choir. Between Poeme and the alto next to me - I had tremendous difficulty concentrating on my music. :)

I actually used to like it...in small doses! Then one day,I walked by a woman who was wearing a truckload of it,and on top of it I'm not sure it really agreed with her chemistry... The poor unsuspecting thing (how could she NOT have known?) was walking around with a bleached hairdo that was the size of a small planet and enough hair gel to immobilize a buffalo,more fake jewelry than the entire stockroom of a dime store could hold,and enough make up to repaint the Cistine chapel in its entirety.Her outfit was as tasteful as the rest of her,all hot pink and leopard skin spandex with heels that could easily rival against the blade of a turkey carving knife and that,of course,she could barely walk into. It was not Halloween,or Mardi Gras, and we were nowhere near a party hall.So now,every time I smell Poeme,I am unable to dissociate the scent from the unforgettable sight and odor this unfortunate person presented to the world,that day,and of course,it is ruined for me,now... But I do remember that,when used correctly and on the right chemistry, the fragrance was undeniably floral, clean,warm,with a hint of a soapy background that was not at all unpleasant.

Poeme lacks dimension. It is a mixture of flowery and sweet vanilla like notes - it is a mixture not a composition. You can easily pass it up. Tresor seems to be abetter choice if you like sweet fragrances.

Like tresor, this perfume made me feel sick and dizzy - but to a lesser extent. Maybe Lancome isn't the brand for me...

After years of wearing only Spicey Musky scents, Poeme is my favorite. I have never liked a floral before, in fact they usually make me sick. Poeme has been the only scent I wear for over two years now, and I'm not tired of it at all.

I recieved this one for christmas one year from my mother. I like it, but a little dab will do ya (spray)! It is very strong and goes a long way! My BF has no sense of smell and I thought he was cheating on me (found out he was just scouting around) but anyhow, knowing he could not smell it, I just sprayed the heck out of his jackets and clothes with this perfume. Needless to say potential "dates" and his ex smelled it! Of course when he told them, we were not together or seeing each other anymore, they knew he was lying! It really has staying power, I could hardly stand too be near him! He was such a creep, he is gone but I still have my Poeme!

It is one of my personal favorites! I receive compliments Every time I wear Poeme. I used to work at a Large Upscale Dept. Store and I tried all the perfumes. It is Definitley one of the Best There Is!

but it's really overpowering and intoxicating! I just put a drop on my wristle and that's enough! I usually like to use big amounts of perfume,especially fresh ones, but I really can't do it with this!

I received this as a gift a while back. It is a very nice fragrance if you have the right body chemistry (as usual ;-) And you wear it in small amounts. A little goes a long way with this one-otherwise you will end up with something that smells cloyingly sweet. In small amounts, I think it is good-sweet, gentle, flowery, slightly spicy, with hints of vanilla. Use with a light hand and enjoy :-)

I wish I could wear this scent! It is (amazingly, for a floral)too powerful for me...it overwhelms!! My daughter fell heir to this one and it smells out of this world on her....elegant, serene, mysterious and sexy...on me...well it's more like chloroform!

Poême is a lovely all-floral harmony which includes vanilla flowers. This perfume is warm, rich, somewhat powdery, and bright. The main reason I love it so much is the awesome and satisfying warm vanilla in it. One of my very favorite perfumes -- it makes me go ahhhhhh when I'm wearing it!

It has a strong smell which surprisingly doesn't last.

Every date has asked me immediately what I am wearing. I was quite surprised since it is a rather simple. But I think that is just it. It is a delicious and inviting scent that you just cannot get enough of. It is just so pleasing.

I was shopping for a sheer and delicate floral and bought Versace Ethereal. Before I left the store, I sprayed some of this on my arm just out of curiosity. It made me feel so confident I just had to buy it! The bottom notes are wonderful! So sexy!

I find poeme to be one of the strongest, and most in your face fragrances I own (and I own quite a few). Its very SWEET, almost cloying but spicy at the same time. I like this and find myself craving it in the winter.

This is a very intense, long lasting floral, but not too sweet. The nearly carnal smell from the Datura flower is intoxicating. I love it.

A bit of a faint smell. It's a bit like Trèsor: nice for a little while but not for to long. A bit without character I think.
