Having just bought this product I think that it is a pale imitation of the original. It does not hold its fragrance for long, indeed on application it smells too light, rather similar to a fake version that one could buy in the Far East street markets! I consider myself to have been ripped off!!

i bought it and its not what we are all looking for

I bought 2 of this cologne from perfume country.com, sorry I did becuse it lasted all of 3 hours on me and smelled like stale, sudsy soap. The worst cologne I've ever used!

I'm confused. Is that stuff still on the market or not? Following several discussions on internet boards, I have to assume that sadly it isn't?! Supposedly, they replaced it with a supposed to be Original 1934 or an "update" or whatever, but which doesn't resemble the real stuff at all; it is said that it's a totally different scent. So, can I get the real 1934 scent or not? Any help is appreciated. Dieter

this is a most excellent fragrance, and the only one i wear. i see it is out of stock on this site but there are two sites i know that still carry it; 1stperfume.com and nellbutler.com. i broke my first, still rather full bottle a few days ago. thankfully, i have two back-up bottles. anyway, get it while you still can.

With all the garbage out there why in the world would they discontinue this classic after shave - I would pay $100 for half a bottle. Please bring it back

I have used this original Dunhill after shave for 50 years and can no longer find it. HELP

A subtle, long lasting cologne of high quality. But the floral notes are not muted, so it has a very vibrant flowery aroma, almost feminine. Its lacking some ellusive element that would balance out the florals and give it a distinctively masculine identity.

This is one of the best scents on the market. It's clean, subtle, and masculine. Definitely a gentleman's scent. And of course, James Bond wears it.

  • LAWRENCE07/24/2006

Reminds me of when I used to go to my dad's barbershop. Smells a lot like the scent added to shaving cream. Definitely an “old” smell. Now I know why they discontinued it.

I just received this gem. It has such a nice, warm, rich masculine aroma. It is not a loud "look at me, look at me" fragrence rather it projects confidence and strength in a quiet manner. I have a new top fragrence and it is the classic Dunhill for Men.

notes.leather and tonka where?? ultra floral imo. i have worn this twice in the past couple weeks and have gotten one compliment from my co-worker only because the scent was on my sweater which i let her put on because she was cold. i will wear this one very sparingly.

I started buying this at Harrods in London and it was and is hte finest fragrance ever made. Since my London business ended I have been searching, for two years, and have never found it. I've just spent hours and it appears this "is" the original and will order it. If I get one more bottle of the "d" I'll throw it away. And by the way the latest "Dunhill for Men" is not bad either! I totally agree with the first review, by Mario. The ORIGINGAL Dunhill is a GREAT scent and it IS hard to find. This is very woody, warm, and yet fresh scent. This is definitely one of the all time BEST colognes.

There's 130 plus reviews on Angel Amen--some even favorably commenting on what a 'babe magnet' that watered down piece of hype is and not ONE on Dunhill's first and greatest scent? Ok, I know it's hard to find and some of you have settled for D or Dunhill edition or today's brown but you see, Mr. Bond, that's the great advantage of the internet---It's here and it's available. Get it while it lasts. For me, one of the top 3 along with Creed Himalaya and Paloma Picasso's Minotaure. For Ian Fleming, there's a reason he chose this one rather than one of the Creeds to have his elegant/savage hero wear. You'll know why the moment you put it on.
