It's all a real man needs to wear.

  • ARKANGEL09/14/2011

Forgive me, but I believe some of you should have your senses checked. If I should ever encounter a woman who reeks of oud, vetiver and spices I am not going to turn around with a look of allure. I am going to turn around with a look of concern. No WAY you can wear Le Male & Joop, then mark this feminine. It has a tad bit of sweetness, but that is what amber does. The quality of this fragrance is that of an Eau de Parfum. You should be praising M7, opposed to breaking it down. The only fragrance that has touched this quality lately, has been Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense EDP, Fahrenheit Absolute and Dior Homme Intense.

  • JEEPSRT804/30/2011

Nice sweet & woody scent is both fairly sensual and unknown which is good by me. Don't know the idea behind the name and not the designer's best but it's definitely above average.

  • ALCAN04/07/2011

Very oppulent. A scent that would make you feel like a King in a peasants bed.

  • GRAMMATON CLERIC03/25/2011

This is a fairly interesting scent. Sampled on my wrist and got an extra spray on the neck and seemed to last pretty good. Got some good feedback from some lady friends. I'll think about picking up bottle soon and adding it to my casual/daywear selection.

  • RENPAARD09/12/2008

Far too much of a good thing. Hit the trigger more than once and it's an overkill. I think it's low on sillage though.

  • MICKIE09/06/2008

This is the one product my husband really likes-and I do too! The smaller bottle is very convenient when traveling.

  • SAMANTHA06/05/2008

This is honestly one of the most amazing colognes. I definitely consider it a "powerhouse" smell. Every man I've ever bought it for tells me how they receive an extraordinary amount of compliments. I would definitely recommend this and love the scent myself!

  • JOEUSMC12/01/2007

everyone says this scent is a powerhouse scent...but in my honest opinion kouros is still the best for YSL. This sure does smell like church insense but it stays close to the skin. My all time winter scent still is OBSESSION im still trying to get a divorce from obsession but yet found a better looking girl.

  • ALFIE10/13/2007

This fragrance smells like l'instant de Guerlain pour Homme without patchouli note. I guess it's better compared to l'instant de Guerlain because it smells lighter but still good.

  • KNIGHT06/30/2007

Please let me explain. Most colognes i've worn have gotten me compliments..."You smell nice." or "You smell good." But the type of compliments i've gotten from women when wearing M7 are on a MUCH higher level..."OH MY GOD. YOU smell SOOO DAMN GOOD!!!!" Recently, a pretty cashier at the grocery store just about had an orgasm right there after catching a whiff of my M7. No lie. Yeah, it's that good.

  • COLOGNE COLLECTOR05/27/2007

I have never tried Brut. But i believe you when you say they are similar, i mean i've check the fragrance pyramids for both of them, and they share many predominant notes like Lavender, anise, Patchoulli, Geranium, vetiver.....etc. Tom Ford previsioned Rive Gauche to be a retro style kind of fragrance, so the concoction used classic combinations of such notes that i just mentioned. The good thing is Rive Gauche is made in 2003, even though it smells 'classic' but it doesn't smell 'old' or 'aged' like some have mentioned, i perceive these meanings differently. Brut might smell similar, but it might give out a quality to people that it has been very aged, i mean i'm sure after some 30 years a few notes are just not so fresh anymore in the bottle. Next time when you test the two side by side, test carefully on the quality of them, try to distinguish how alive the notes are if you know what i mean. I will look out for Brut and test it myself and examine the similarities and differences. Until then, Rive Gauche is still what i call 'a creation that reflects the classics while still remain modern'. And yes, Gucci PH and M7 are not very much alike, you are very correct. M7 is very medicinal, very hard to get a designer's frag that contains a large amount of Oud. All the best!

  • JUDE C05/23/2007

Big time scent here. I prefer Kouros and Body Kouros more, but this stuff is as manly as it gets. I love it!!!!!!! I am not all that passionate about it. But I would suggest purchasing it. It is not all that unique, but it is a great scent. A notch below Ungaro III. I compare the two because neither are not all that unique but simply smell amazing. Neither are all that unique but just smell delicious and are sure to offend nobody. I would put La Perla in the same class - smells absolutely amazing, but not the deepest or most mysterious of all. Ungaro III is a scent I get passionate about, so to even compare this stuff to it, shows it not bad at all. Ungaro III and M7 both rock.

  • FARNO05/17/2007

I have read your reveiws on M7, Gucci PH and Rive Gauche. I don't find any similarities between M7 and gucci PH except that they are both made by the same designer. I know M7 has some smokey notes which could be compared to Gucci, but it is very loud and sweet, where as Gucci PH is more descreet, dark and woody. Also to me Rive Gauche is very simillar to Brut, ( as far as I remember the smell of Brut) it is almost the same scent but a little sweeter. and when I look at the reveiws, I see that Rive gauche gets a lot of positive reveiws and Brut gets few, and no one mentioned the similarity between the two. I really like to see your opinion on this. Thank you.

  • PALINART04/14/2007

I must say this is something new and different. Love the bottle that looks like lighter! As far as what is inside, I have some reservations. It opens with a sweetness, then there is this strange, woody scent that smells like Zen temple smoke. Far away and dramatic, ever so slightly nauseating to me personally. Aloeswood may not be for everyone, so try it first! That is if you can find it. Jazz was everywhere, not so with this one thankfully...

  • WIRRAL GUY03/16/2007

After purchasing this i quickly realised whai i had bought-a bottle of condensed caramalised rasberries.I really cant find anything good to say about this. What i can say is this fragrance once applied has a sickly and very cloying ability to shout "i am here arent i gorgeous".In reality the strength of this fragrance is its downfall. Its is a sweet and overbearing stench that could easily pass as a female fragrance-not a patch on ysl body kouros.

  • BARBARA W03/05/2007

The first blast of M7 is VERY antiseptic and loaded with vetiver (which I usually loathe in large amounts), but somehow...some way...this fragrance works. I bought it for my 17 year old son, but I find myself using the shower gel myself occasionally. I don't think of this as a feminine fragrance like some other posters, but it is definitely unisex. I wouldn't buy it for myself, but enjoy smelling it on a man.

  • RICHARD III 02/26/2007

YSL produces my favorites and M7 rates with the best. The scent is dark, rich and mysterious and produces a most unusual drydown! Like woodsmoke from rare wood. M7 and Kouros are like wearing incense from some far off temple.

  • CAT12/12/2006

This cologne makes me want to cuddle up to my husband and just go from there! The scent turns me on as soon as I smell it! He will never wear anything else EVER!

  • STEVE11/06/2006

M7 is one of the best scents for men ever to be released. Is it feminine? I think it is....very much so actually. But that is what makes it so nice actually. M7 is very sweet and smooth and has the same qualities and characteristics that make womens scents so special and nice.

  • PAOLO08/14/2006

ok, now, i will try to be very open minded about this, yesterday I was about to but the gift set, after I tried it on my skin, I waited for a bout a few hours, and it smelled something close to rubbing alcohol with a couple of spices. didn't work on my chemistry obviously. also, I dont think it will be suitable for my country's tropical climate. Turned out, I didn't make the purchase in order to be fair to other reviews and to other skin types, I won't rate this product

  • CHRISTOBELLE08/05/2006

Wow! tried this on advice from someone when looking at Gucci Pour Homme, another really masculine wood and smoke fragrance (which I love - but its pretty heady!). This one starts off very vanilla and musk, I can see why some may think it sweet to start, but the dry down is the most fantastic wood smell, like fireplace, plus the vanilla and musk, but distinctly masculine. The burning wood is a nice subtle sharp accent. A keeper! Definitely want my man to be wearing this one!!

  • K. WIMPINO07/02/2006

Very very sweet & woody aroma is the best I've smelled and owned from YSL right next to Body Kouros and great feedback from most everybody out there. A good alternative to Rochas Man and Ignition.

  • COLOGNE COLLECTOR06/03/2006

This is possibley the best fragrance ever created for men on the face of this beautiful earth. It is the first fragrance since Tom Ford came in for the direction, and the man has always been a fashion icon, he's a genius. And to no surprise, he delivered a world's masterpiece. This fragrance is not your typical teenie bopper, this one has everything, from class to apeal, from being a man to being stand out, and from quality to seduction, it's all here. It is utterly unique, and has a high concentration of agarwood which is worth as much as gold these days, a very rare and expensive wood. This wood is simply magical, it has a hypnotic effect, affecting everyone in it's path. Thus, this fragrance is dangerous, not for the faint of heart. The overall combination is simply speechless. And no, this fragrance is not feminine, in fact, people comment on how masculine it is without any cliches. This is the epitome of luxury and sex apeal, seduction in its purest and finest form. It is simply unbeatable.

  • SAMI04/13/2006

hi guys..i am 35, and i think m7 is the best i have used so far..but surely, the "fresh" version.. you will see that m7-fresh is even more expensive, and surely better than the original..stays on me for days

  • GARY N.04/02/2006

This sensually woody-sweet fragrance is probably the next best from YSL right after Kouros and Body Kouros. Seems to be a sleeper and lasts pretty good on me.

  • R.J.03/08/2006

THE LADIES TRULY LOVE THIS WONDERFULLY, WOODY MASTERPIECE. A LIFETIME KEEPER FOR ME.

  • ENRIQUE01/31/2006

I bought it while I was in Dubai. Saw the advertisement for M7 and like wow, MUST get it. Use it and get complimented by most females. Most females will come closer to you. Trust me! Masculine, exotic, rich, elegant and addiction. Wil be hitting the store to get another bottle of M7, the bodywash and the M7 soap. Just can't get enough of it. I WISH YSL would come out with an EDP VERSION of it. Oh, my God! DEFINITLY MY ALL TIMES FAVOURITES!!!!! =)

  • GIANFRANCO01/28/2006

Yes! Arnold this is a man's cologne, and actually quite masculine. Rosemary, amber, bergamot, musk, and especially vetiver have been used in mens colognes for the longest time. You probably have a hard time with the exotic woods. This scent is very unique and it requires a man who is confident about his virility, masculinity and sexuality in order to wear it. It's all about stlye, confidence, and being unique in a world of Aqua di Gio wanna be's, this one stands out and screams " I am UNIQUE!!" If this makes you feel like wearing a dress you have other issues to resolve. Seriously

  • W.B.01/19/2006

ONE OF THE BEST EVENING COLOGNES IN A LONG TIME. NEXT TO BODY KOUROS, IT'S MY FAVORITE FOR MAKING A VERY STRONG AND POSITIVE IMPRESSION IN THE CLUBS. KEEP IT GOING, YSL.

  • TOM'S WIFE11/15/2005

Arnold, I'm a women who loves my man smelling good. When my man wears M7, I can't get enough of him. Different stokes for differents folks no matter what age!

  • TONY T10/04/2005

no way.this is the most feminine fragrance that is not classified as unisex ever.i like some of the sweeter orientals such as desire, allure,etc... this thing called m7 bewilders my mind.keep in mind i am 25 but in no way can u call this masculine.very feminine and unmanly, even for a switch hitter or straight up fudge packer.the best thing about m7,hmm,,very long lasting.

  • MARCO TESTAVERDE09/30/2005

YSL must've drawn a blank as far as coming up with a name for this ultrasweet fragrance. It IS a bit feminine and probably sweeter than Angel Men and Rochas Man but still pretty good.

  • SPIROS09/07/2005

Very nice. I think this is the top for YSL group. I like to wear it. I never felt woman with that. It is masculine. Wear it in the evening or in a romantic place. Unfortunately not last long!

  • LASSIE08/23/2005

I would think the days of the hairy-chested man reeking of Old Spice or (god forbid) Aqua Velva, JUST LIKE HIS OLD MAN DID, are kind of, not gone, but out of style. This cologne is not for everyone, sure, but a little - that's A LITTLE - of this is very nice. That's the key. Years ago I once had a date with a guy who showed up reeking of Hai Karate - he had the bottle on the front seat of his car! It was bad, and I'm sure M7 would be just as bad if anyone applied it as generously as that clueless Hai Karate loving gent did!

  • MARIO JUSTINIANI07/29/2005

Ok, I'll be nice. I really like some of the 'romantic' sweeter colognes, like Anucci, Cristobal, the weird rock candyish Rochas Man (especially if I'm re-reading LOLITA) and most of all, Signature by St. Dupont. But here, we're getting silly. I know this one's the creation of Spanish lunatic genius Alberto Morillas, but still . . . I can't even say this one's feminine--it's ambery oriental feminine silly. You know you're in trouble when the supposedly unisex Bvlgari Black is a far more masculine and elegant oriental. Should this one be subtitled "How to pick up women even though you smell like one? " Perhaps an acid test should be employed, gentlemen. Wear it and if the ladies flock to you, throw out every cologne you own, and start buying rosewater, jasmine and gardenias. (sigh)

  • ANDREA 200507/11/2005

This is seriously sexy! Men, take care and use it sparingly...Hot, hot, hot and the man on the ad - OMG!!!

  • SPACE PILGRIM06/28/2005

A rare gem that's sensual, modern and yet classic. It's not commonly worn, the women love it and it won't drain your wallet. Get a clue, Arnold R.!

  • ARNOLD R.05/12/2005

This is for men? Really? It smells like something my mother would wear. How far is this style gonna’ go, I wonder? How much further can it go? How much more feminine can men’s fragrances possibly get? I think this trend has gone beyond ridiculous now and is headed into pathology. You might as well wear a dress as M7. I’m embarassed for the young men today that don’t know any better than to wear girly perfume like this. It’s pathetic.

  • ROB H.03/08/2005

A sophisticated and refined fragrance that the modern man should appreciate and the women should be craving you for.

  • ERIC02/15/2005

Really is bad. After trying and gasping for fresh air I immediately grabbed the soap and scrubbed my arm. Oh God it's so awful. Few things come close to being so bad, there are a few but not many fragrances this bad. Mugler makes one and Michael Kors makes another. I just pray never to be stuck in a situation in a non-ventilated place with someone who has doused themselves with this horrible mess. Luckily I don't have to pretend to be trendy and say something smells wonderful when it actually smells like toilet water.

  • WAYNE12/09/2004

Discovered this by chance about a year ago. This fragrance is decadant, luxurious and has quality written all over it. It is one of the few that smell as good by the end of the day as they did at the start. Notes of bergamot, citrus and woody tones don't fade and you'll feel great wearing it anytime. Bottle looks awesome too!

  • GERT WATERINK11/24/2004

But off course!! It's a decadent fragrance! I love it. The woody fragrance is excellent for winter use. The fragrnce sprakles with luxury woody tones, and that makes yourself some kind of a millionaire. I already had many compliments from both women and men. It deserves three stars!

  • BILL 11/16/2004

This is a great fragrance that lasts a long time. Nothing else like it.

  • TOM08/11/2004

Lush. Rich. Refined.Yet casual. It has just a slight hint of Ralph Laurens Monogram...Understated Elegance.

  • EL NINO08/09/2004

Let me start by saying that i'm pretty jaded when it comes to scents, have a few in my collection wich are very sensual in their own right. Just aquired m7 a few days ago, this stuff is incredible, incredibly exotic, manly and sensual fragrance. It smells sweet but very manly and musky at the same time, not femenine at all. Great compliments from women so far. I could go on and on, but you get the picture!!

  • KENYA05/28/2004

the scent so sweet it makes me want to make love, and then when the scent is left on my sheet. just lay there for hours smelling it

  • JACOBUS05/08/2004

M7 is high quality stuff in the tradition of Chanel's Antaeus. It's for solid guys who know what they want. It's not light; it's laden with spices and woods, and it lasts without being cloying.

  • TOMMY. A.04/06/2004

On me, it smelled like rubber... Thick and unpleasant, but bearable. A friend of mine had the same experince too. Might have something to do with the skintype of course - may be great on the right person.

  • BRAD MEDLING02/14/2004

It is fine if you want to smell like almonds. My opinion? Stinkorama!

  • KEVIN FROM AUSTRALIA01/15/2004

This is warm and rich and exotic - I so use this when making love is around the corner - and girls and guys alike comment favourably. I so dislike how so many expensive mens colognes smell like they have a tinge of fly spray as a base - this one is quite unique that they have steered clear of the fly spray recipe and gone for something like a mix of spices and essential oils - so seductive and smells natural - not like (my god hear comes another man covered in fly spray!!

  • BRANDEN_COLOGNE_USER01/15/2004

A real musky cologne. Takes advantage of a man's natural scent. Problem is when your at a bar or club, the smell is a little to musky. Musky where it smells dirty. Keep it for the office, school or church.

  • VIOLET12/20/2003

Mmmm... The first time I smelled this I couldn't get close enough to the man who was wearing it (and he was not my date). I just kept deeply inhaling the air around him and telling him he smelled sooo good. I think it made his date and my boyfriend uncomfortable, but I couldn't help it! The scent is very warm, sensual, incredibly interesting and very arresting. Now, whenever I can, and since my bf doesn't wear scents, I spray some on a fragrance card and keep it in my car so I can have it near me!

  • MIKE12/15/2003

Beautiful sent! Makes me feel manly, sly, elegant and on top of the world

  • ZEKIYE11/26/2003

Smells wonderful on a woman. Sorry guys.

  • JON11/10/2003

Unique, one-of-a-kind, intensely woody (because of agarwood--the principal ingredient). There is nothing quite like M7. If you want to feel sexy, mysterious, and sly, this is what you wear. And yes, though this is a man's cologne, women can wear this too. In fact, I know of several women friends who say that this gives them that certain "allure". Not for shy types.

  • INES10/23/2003

Not bad, interesting, new, but too sweet. I'm intrigued by Sandra's opinion that M7 could be a women's fragrance. It might be, yes, I think I'll try it.

  • PRICE10/04/2003

I'm really trying to like this stuff, I'm trying hard. There are some quality ingredients in this fragrance. However, everyone who smells it says that it reminds them of potpourri. It smells exactly like those little bags of dried flowers and spice that your grandmother leaves in her bathroom. As such, I give it a "thumbs down."

  • ASCHKAEL10/03/2003

This is quite an unique scent. I'm fond of very warm and deep scents, and this is one of them. No topnotes...it's all base. At the heart of it there's this mysterious woody note...very pleasant. Highly recommended.

  • MARION07/09/2003

This is the scent to have for the up and coming metrosexual. All my boys wear this and they are oh so sweet. If you are a big, burly man who likes to be around buff athletes, this is your scent. You know what I mean...

  • ALBERT07/01/2003

I love this scent but do NOT think it works on a girl, it would be an instant turn off for me if Ismelled it on my date.

  • KEV06/30/2003

This is disgusting. It smells way too strong

  • SANDRA06/15/2003

I tried this scent once convinced by a female salesperson who said she loved it. After a couple of days went back to the store to buy it. All my female friends at work adored the smell and were surprised to hear it's men's cologne. It's classic, elegant, mysterious and overall gorgeous. I guess it could be rated unisex but it's for mature clients only. I would appreciate some comments from guys who use it whether they find it an acceptable woman's fragrance. Thanks and enjoy!

  • ALEXEY06/07/2003

I believe M7 is the finest thing I've ever see. The best way to be elegant.

  • BRAD05/25/2003

This stuff smells like a bad impression of toasted almonds! I highly do not reccomend this fragrance. Kouros is also nasty. As far as my opinion goes, Jazz is the only decent scent that YSL has developed!

  • MAURICIO05/08/2003

This is a new, classic and fantastic perfume ( like Envy and Bulgary Homme), not for Tommy's and Cool Wather Teen lovers. M7 is is created for an elegant man, please don't use it whit jeans and t-shirt

  • FERNANDO05/03/2003

I tested this scent when I was at the mall and I think it is just too sweet and too strong. It is ok that JAZZ is a strong cologne too. But M7 is way too sweet for such a strong cologne. As someone said, it gives us the impression of an old-fashioned cologne. It is a quality fragrance, but maybe for other people or for colder weathers. I personally tried to get rid of that smell in my wrist. JAZZ is an excellent cologne though.

  • TONY05/01/2003

A moment of seduccion, atraction and astonish. Feel the breeze going into your skin.

  • ...after it dryed down. I tried it on the store, in my skin, and it last hours, with a sweet, strong and sicker smell. All this with only one spray.A needed a bath to take out that smell.

  • ALEX FROM BRAZIL04/13/2003

The product is extremely well made. The eau de toillete fragance will last for hours - YSL standards are the highest! But the overall combination, though very elegant and harmonious seems a little bit old fashioned. Resembles the old Givenchy's L'Interdit. Wish it were more crisp and less sweet.

  • MARIUSZ04/02/2003

This is my first cologne that horrible smelling. I feel only ginger in it. Lasts very long . I gave it to my brother. Now I have a "ginger-brother"

  • NOIRWEST03/28/2003

If I had to choose only one cologne to use from now until it no longer matters this would most likely be it. Come to think of it, gotta stick a line in the will insuring the undertaker sends me off smelling the way a man should, M7 for me, thanks.

  • ALEX03/27/2003

Okay Elizabeth that man might be appealing to youmbut for a man it's wierd. But this is a cool scent. Original, Nice but there is a burning note that i personally like!

  • ELIZABETH03/24/2003

This Fragrance is original and there is a note in there that is perfect, there is also a note that burns my throat. The naked male that is on the ad is wierd but made me wan't to smell this the model was HOT the fragrance is HOT!

  • CHRISTOPH03/17/2003

Strong character, dark, but not gloomy, woody and warm. Imagine a deep and soft voice or a walk through a forest in summer. Highly Recommended !

  • JOHNNY BOY03/17/2003

very different well worth a try

  • FRANCESCO03/09/2003

Too many perfumes smell the same....this one is so different! Not to miss!!!

  • PATRICK03/01/2003

    This is horrible vile smelling
