Why oh Why can I not buy this amazing perfume any more? Everyone loves the smell & now it seems it's discontinued!!

  • SANDIE04/20/2010

Why is it that everytime I find a signature scent it ultimately is discontinued. Love this scent and its affect on people. I always received a positive comment when I wear it. Extremely long lasting-I will cry when all supplies are gone

  • LISA10/31/2009

You must wait at least 20 minutes to appreciate Kingdom's attraction. I really can't stand the Top Notes (cumin someone said) either, & only tolerate it because the Middle & Bass notes are so fabulous. If you smell the bottle, sniff a test strip, or put it on & then try to wash off, you are probably not going to like Kingdom. But put it on your wrist & give it an hour & you will see what there is to love! It becomes a warm musk & soft sweet vanilla. (not as cloyingly sweet as modern food scents though). It's incredible! It also has pretty good lasting power, so it is worth waiting for the dry down. Absolutely one of my top favorites. I also love Versace woman (berries & fabric softener), Antilope, & Bal à Versailles. It's funny because I bought this perfume because of the horrible reviews to see what could be so bad, but now I actually adore it.

  • CLK01/29/2009

The bottle is shaped like a bicycle seat because it SMELLS like a bicycle seat after a very long ride on a hot day. Sniff both and tell me I'm wrong!!

  • CHRISTOPHER07/26/2008

Your comment about the perfume reminding you of the scene in Anchorman made me laugh... and I have to agree with you. I finally tried to wash it off me and after 3 attempts I could still smell it!! I will say that it does last long... but smells so wrong!

  • CAROLYN08/16/2007

I love this scent! It is very complex, and changes as the day goes on (as any good perfume should). To anyone who has bad things to say, TRY IT ON! It's a completely different experince on your skin than it is out of the bottle. I've never recieved more compliments in my life than when I'm wearing Kingdom, and I've never felt more sexy.

  • JUDI W*03/28/2007

When I was testing at my usual perfume outlet, the SA, who knows me well said to try this one. Immediately, I did not like the scent at all. It really was a turnoff. I usually like spicy or incensey but this was neither. It doesn't smell like sex to me, my scent is much sweeter...lol...(but who can remember?)

  • NICK01/23/2007

I reviewed this awhile back and had to re-state my opinion because of the good reviews I am seeing. I find it hard to believe anyone likes this. Chemistry Schmemistry. If you watch Anchorman The legend of Ron Burgundy Movie. Watch the scene where the guy puts this special cologne on him. Listen to the comments he receives about the cologne. Take those comments and multiply them by 100 and you may understand how bad this smells. I would rather get sprayed by a skunk. Just kidding but smells just as bad.

  • MARYL01/23/2007

I tried a tester of this fragrance when it first came out and thought that it smelled like curry, so I didn't like it. I tried it again today on a whim when walking through a department store; and I guess that my skin oils have changed. It is now a musky, soft floral on my skin. I like it. The dry down reminds me of a softer version of “Antilope” by Weil. I don’t know if it will ever be my favorite scent – I prefer a hint of citrus or mint in my perfume – but I would certainly wear it.

  • TRISH12/18/2006

hmmm. Kingdom. NOT for me. Cumin, sweat, chemicals.... I can understand the armpit references. My Queen, better, still detect the cumin, but actually thought it smelled pretty good initially. However, the lingering scent on my cardigan sleeve started to get to me after a while. I found it too cloying for my taste.

  • M11/25/2006

For those who didn't quite take a liking to Kingdom, I beg you not to dismiss the newest McQueen fragrance, My Queen. It is so very beautiful! I bought it on a whim, knowing that I love Kingdom and hoping for something just as unique. That is exactly what I got! However, this is totally unlike Kingdom - it is sweet (not too sweet) and clean and has a light powdery quality. It has a light vanilla undertone and is much more floral than Kingdom, but just as unique. The first day I wore it, I went to work. It started with the ladies, all saying "what iiiiiiisssssss that?" and then it began with the boys. One of my managers asked me what it was, and told me he was staying close to me all day. Every time he came around it was "aahhhhh." He definitely wasn't the only one - it seemed like everyone I came into contact with was mystified. By the end of the day, I even had someone come up to me and say "is that you that smells sooooooo good? I kept smelling something whenever you came close by and everyone told me it was you. I had to come get another whif" I personally was a little shocked by the effect it had, because it seemed only so-so the very first time I smelled it, but now I love it so much, and a world apart from Kingdom, the majority of people I come into contact with agree!

  • JENNA10/06/2006

Ok. I give it that it's unique. Now make it go away! Difficult to imagine this smelling nice on anyone, unless your body chemistry really tones it down. Perhaps that's the key. I don't like flowery ultra femine scents but this isn't my idea of an alternative.

  • CHARLESE10/06/2006

Nevermind what anyone else thinks. If you like it, then its for you, and if you don't, then its not. Nevermind what anyone else says, however opinionated they may be. There are a lot of comments on here from people who hate this scent. I include myself in this. Perhaps it does smell good on someone, but its hard to imagine. To me it smells like sweat mixed in with cumin and cheap overpoweringly strong mens cologne. Congratulations to you on losing the weight and if it affects your body chemistry, then change your perfume to fit the new you!! You deserve it!

  • LEE ANN HUCKABY10/04/2006

It just happened that my chemestry changed since I got it. I got it because it had some of the things I liked in a perfume. I am usually very selective and test them several times before I buy them. I do not spend lots of money on perfumes unless I like them. I think that my chemistry changed when I lost a lot of weight and all. I have been told that weight loss can effect the chemestry. And by the way I am almost out of it now.

  • MAYA10/01/2006

for heaven's sake, stop wearing this if it isnt right for you. Or better still pass it along to an extraordinary woman like myself! Perhaps you should see a counsellor and find out why you have the inhibitions that you do, since you obviously have the right instincts in purchasing Kingdom in the first place. Whatever you decide, I wish you all the best.

  • ANGIE09/29/2006

I thought I would like this scent as I like all the really unique ones. It smells, as others have posted, like body odor or armpits. It is not appealing to me at all. My husband said it smelled like an old lady who had not bathed! I do not want to smell like that!!! I am selling it on ebay.

  • LEE ANN09/14/2006

I wrote in past saying that I loved that perfume. I now can't wear the perfume. It makes me sick when I wear it. I still love it but it is stoo strong. I will keep wearing it til my bottle runs out and then not get it again. A shame because it has a select smell in it that I love and it was why I brought the perfume in the first place. My guess is that the Cunnin is what bothers me and why I can no longer wear it. I will drop the rating because I can't wear it again.

  • CHRISTOBELLE09/05/2006

although Kingdom a definite no-no for me, I did try My Queen. The silly sales waffle around it notwithstanding (marvellous, mysterious, etc) this is very wearable, yet still quite heady and interestingly enough still has that cumin note in it. I liked it. Others I asked said it was okay and they werent sure, but to me it smelled interesting and I have to say I did like it. Didnt bother me that the violet top note disappeared quickly as I am not into that nor jasmine at the moment....

  • DIANA08/30/2006

I just received this today. WOW! How can anyone in their right mind claim to hate this fragrance? It's absolutely splendid. There is not one ounce of "body odor" smell or "arm-pit sweat," like some people have claimed. All I smell is something so gorgeous there are no words to describe it. My God. I'm in love...

  • ALEXANDRIA08/19/2006

wow. couldnt wash it off fast enough. Actually couldnt wash it off, it really lingers. It must smell differently on those of you who love it, because I found it a truly awful smell. Cumin, sweat, lynx cologne, mixed in with some other stuff...

  • JT08/13/2006

With all the bad (and good) reviews of how "different" it smells, I am very curious about the smell. I live on the west coast (southern CA) and I have searched far and wide before, and to this day, I don't think it was ever sold out here! I'm still curious about the BO smell many people are talking about.

  • CHRISTOBELLE08/08/2006

Smells like a man's cologne at first whiff, and not a very nice one... AND its really strong too (and dont get me wrong, I have been known to wear some mens fragrances - Gucci Pour Homme for example) -- not this one though. it does smell slightly of sweat... perhaps thats why people think of sex, but I think I will pass on this one. If you want spicy I think something like Opium is oh so much better done.... Big NO for me on this.

  • **HEATHER**08/08/2006

This is definitely not for me! I woulden't want anyone around me wearing this scent! It is just awful!

  • M07/10/2006

I've read some posts that described Kingdom as smelling like sex and sweat, and they're absolutely right - but that's what I love about it! It is spicy and more than just warm, it smells hot, if that makes any sense. The bottle is so pretty and the lasting power is unbelievable - I can apply it in the morning, smell it all day, go to sleep, and still smell it lingering the next day. It makes me feel very seductive and sensual. It seems very 'adult' and I mean that in addition to the thoughts it may provoke, it is unlike many of the popular candy sweet scents that are so widely available. Kingdom is so unlike them, so much more complex and grown-up; but don't get me wrong, it is definitely not 'old lady.' It is important to understand that not everyone will like this, but if this sounds like the type of fragrance you enjoy, or maybe you want something unlike anything you have, try this one out.

  • BARBARA W07/07/2006

try Kenzo Jungle L'elephant. It has a similar spicy quality (and cumin, which is an unusual note but one I love), but Jungle is softer and easier to wear. I like Kingdom, but I only wear it when I want to give out a seductive vibe; it quite simply smells like sex. If I wore it to work, it might give the wrong impression as to how I spend my lunch hour! ;-)

  • ANGELIQUE06/23/2006

... I really hate it. My son went into his Grandmother's bedroom and for some reason decided to spray this into the atmosphere until the bottle was almost finished. The whole house REEKS. It's revolting. He did this a day ago and now there's not one single room that doesn't smell like sweaty men. I will hate the smell of this scent forever now.

  • ANGELIQUE06/05/2006

... but it's when you spray it on your skin that the illusion evaporates. It smells very masculine to me. Reminds me of male deodorant tinged with a bit of natural masculine body odor. Whilst it's not altogether bad (if it were on a guy) - it's not too good either. I don't want to smell manly!! I've been trying to wash this scent off but it seems to smell stronger now than it did when I first sprayed it. Not for me.

  • GREEKGIRL04/23/2006

After reading all these comments about this smelling like b.o. i hesitated to try it until after the insistence of a sales lady, (i dreaded it but she insisted) i didnt think much of it in the beginning but after about an hour it dried down to a most beautiful scent , i couldnt stop sniffing my arm,and had to go get it right away, i just cant understand where all these comments about b.0. are coming from to me it smells flowery so dont go by peoples comments try it for yourself, this is now in my top 5 I LOVE IT!

  • JANINE04/20/2006

I've been wearing this for a couple years and like it more every day. It's pure oils and it seems todays new scents (celebrity named ones in particular)all smell alike after an hour because they use cheap synthetic notes. This KINGDOM is so pure that you still smell the notes after hours. I can't say enough good about it. It's pure unadulterated passion in a bottle.

  • MARIA03/31/2006

This perfume smells like a 'real' woman, a woman who knows things. Someone who has experienced life and loves herself and her life. I love everything about how this makes me feel. So sexy and feminine.

  • KINGDON LOVER03/19/2006

I wear Kingdon all day every day in a corporate office environment, it is the only perfume I can wear as all others give me a headache and after 14 years with my husband it is the only one he likes too (and I have tried many). It is not too heavy, has a beautiful gentle musk scent, very pleasant for everyday, not just for the bedroom!

  • TO PERFUME-AHOLIC03/11/2006

It's a beautiful, complex fragrance that I'm thinking about owning myself. A strong note in it appears to be Lavender, although I can't seem to find a listing of the ingredients anywhere. If you want a comparison, it bears a strong resemblance to BLV Notte during the dry-down, but the top notes are striking and nearly masculine, but very clean. I am thinking of adding it to my collection-- It is exotic and unusual. I don't know where you live, but I know you can smell/purchase it at Neiman Marcus. I only have a sample!

  • AURELIA03/02/2006

"The first perfume from rebel fashion designer Alexander McQueen, Kingdom, is a fresh, sparkling blend of neroli and ginger, blended with floral-spicy notes of rose, jasmine, and cumin, and finished with woody, erotic notes of sandalwood, Copahu wood, and myrrh. The bottle, a work of art in itself, was designed to resemble a heart, turned upside down, and shielded by three panels of roll-away armor."

  • JENNA02/24/2006

If you like this but want something a little sweeter and just as sexy, try "Excess" by Gendarme. It's new. I think they took out the cumin and added chocolate. MMMM and a little less in your face.

  • JENNA02/23/2006

Sweet and warm...totally opposite of Kingdom but equally as nice and Different!!!

  • PERFUME-AHOLIC02/21/2006

Attention all perfume lovers! Apparently Alexander has a new fragrance out called My Queen. I'm wondering if anyone out there has given this a try and would be generous enough to share with us their views and opinions of this new scent!

  • STEVIE02/07/2006

First off, I'll share with everyone my love for this fragrance. However, I'll also extend my understanding to those who do not like it or just find it far too much. Oh I know where your doubts are coming from. See I love this fragrance but this one really has it's time and place. I would under no circumstances want to smell this at work. This is a dark scent, but that's not what makes it stand out and even makes it offensive for the work-environment. This stuff plain and simple smells like sex. This is why you should not wear this to work. I can see it worn on a date if you want to send out signals of that sort, in the bedroom to enhance the mood, out to a hot-sweaty club where you'll dance your heart out. I love the way this will become deeply musky in the most sexual way, but this is precisely why you cannot wear this to work - well unless you work at one of the clubs I mentioned.

  • MATUSHA01/12/2006

Kingdom is a romantic perfume and insolate built around a rare and noble essence of sandalwood. A romantic facet where freshness and femininity mix with the flowers. A facet insolente which associates the audacity of spices the mystery of the wooded notes. The bottle is a c?ur of red glass ruby presented in a reflective hull like a mirror. A single object, romantic, a message of the designer to the woman who carries her perfume.

  • MAYA01/10/2006

This is such an extraordinary fragrance that would suite only an equally extraordinary person. I think that ALL fragrances are meant to be enjoyed by both men and women so in my opinion there are no scents only for men and only for women - it's all up to your personal taste. This one of course is very much for both. But like I said it's only for the type who is quite unashamedly sexual and carnal. Kingdom like Nirmala is sexual, deep and very provocative. There are unfortunately very few mixes like this one on the market but as long as they are there I will be purchasing. These fragrances are not for the office, that just might be the wrong vibe you would give off, UNLESS of course that is the exact vibe you want to get across... now if that is what you're aiming for those two surely will not miss their target. Kingdom: is a Kingdom of grown-ups who love to play. So when you ladies out there say that this smells dirty and sweaty, think about it again... and if you buy it stop for the love of all that is good and light wearing stuff like this magic potion to the gym and grocery store, unless you are planning to ensnare that Personal Trainer or the Grocery Boy ;)

  • ELLE12/28/2005

Oh, my God. People post the most offensive messages about this scent and in my opinion with NO GOOD REASON FOR IT. THE PERFUME is FABULOUS! I guess for some of you out there, the chemistry did not mix well or you did not take the time to actually spray it on but just smelled it at the store, whatever the reason is, you are totally wrong. This is definitelly unique scent and thus for those who enjoy the perfume by Britney Spears and JLO, this would be a BAD choice. But for those who like scents like Chanell and other unique, stylish perfumes, definitelly give it a try. No question asked, you should try it on at the store before buying it, on me personally it smells very flowery and sweet, but everyone's chemistry has a different reaction to the scents and the oils. But I would definitelly give this a try, you might be very lucky and love the scent.

  • PERFUMANIAC12/20/2005

Oh my! Just try to imagine a mix of thick, heavy, old sweat of a man who's been doing some hard work outside in the summer time somewhere in a dessert and was not able to shower nor change his clothes for a week AND a smell of spicy pepper and cumin spices... If it sounds good to you, then you gonna love this perfume, because this is exactly what it smells like.

  • CLEOPATRA'S SECRET12/13/2005

"Return to era of elegance Hand me a martini, this is truly a scent to inspire glamour and heady seduction. At first it is almost overpowering but settles into an alluring fragrance. A perfect scent for dressing up and being adored. Then let it be said. Spice is life. Henceforth from this day forward, I vow to thee to be true to thyself. To only add spice mixed with comfort to elevate my senses to the highest level of my being. Come forward my Kingdom, into thy hands, spray thy pulse points and let my body breathe you in to absorb your spiritual essence to send me forward on my days journey."

  • KALILA11/10/2005

My Queen is a floral Oriental. The structure of the fragrance has four facets, dubbed Marvelous, Dazzling, Mysterious and Intoxicating. Each facet, portrayed as individual layers of a woman's personality, radiates from a common heart and shared base. Marvelous opens with the innocent, warm and tender feeling of childhood, with notes of Parma violet and sweet almond. Dazzling is meant to be illuminating with orange blossom absolute fused with white musk and heliotrope in a powdery and luminous bouquet of white flowers. The perfume then turns more feminine, sweet and intimate with the Mysterious facet, consisting of patchouli, cedar and vetiver. As the name implies, Intoxicating is meant to be charming and bewitching with Florentine iris and vanilla. My Queen is a gorgeous, feminine, warm powdery scent. I fell in love with it the first time I tried it!

  • ZEKIYE10/31/2005

It smells like someone's skin after they ate Indian food for a week and exercised for an hour... The person who wrote B.O. was right on!

  • LORRAINE09/09/2005

Perhaps McQueen's inspriation for this fragrance is Lance Armstrong's bicycle seat after completing the Tour de France. The bottle is even shaped like a bicycle seat! YUCK!

  • CT09/08/2005

It is said that scent is closely tied to memory. "Kingdom" reminds me of the summer of '91 when the air conditioning broke at Gold's Gym.

  • LEE ANN09/05/2005

Man-this stuff is heaven! I love it. I love the way it smells and some are the notes in this perfume fascinate me and I go for perfumes that have this. I plan to keep getting it til I can't find it anymore.

  • SHEILA08/15/2005

This is a really a fabulous fragrance. It smells very sexy and sensual. It's not one of those sickly sweet fragrances for silly girls. This fragrance was meant to be worn by a WOMAN. All of the negative comments must come from females not comfortable with their mature and more primal side. Wear this fragrance and the MEN (not silly boys) will be instantly drawn to you.

  • LASSIE08/11/2005

Plain and simple. Yes, yes, I know it's " different". Yes, I know we all don't want to smell like a sunlit garden and sweet sweet flowers and baby powder. But this is just...insulting!

  • DESMOND06/20/2005

I don;t know why this fragrance is marketed towards a feminine market when the whoe design of the packaging, bottle and fragrance is so masculine - I love it!

  • FRAGRANCE JUNKIE06/04/2005

Yet ANOTHER dumb bottle! What on Earth . . . don't get me started again! I like this scent, yet after reading all the armpit comments, I'm doubting my nose! I smell a warm floral scent, with a woodiness to it. Armpits? We should be so lucky!

  • JESSICA05/03/2005

Spicy velvety tobacco. Not too heavy, even in a Florida summer. Or at least no one has complained to me yet.

  • NICK04/23/2005

The lady behind the counter offered my sister this bottle before we even smelled this awhile back. When I took a wiff, it reminded me of sweaty armpits. Don't but this just don't use deodarant. it smells the same.

  • SUZANNE04/13/2005

Sorry I never answered back - I haven't been here for awhile. You shoudl try Femme by Rochas - an old classic that also has a sexy cumin note - it is for real women not girls!

  • ELENA02/08/2005

This is wonderful and unique! It is only for those who are not afraid to stand out and be different from all the others, as for the rest of you that are used to wearing "Victoria Secret" cheap vanilla, it wont do. This scent is NOTHING like Bo or sweat, it is very sophisticated and yes brings out the individuality of a real, strong yet feminine woman.

  • SAL02/07/2005

smells like a sweaty kid holding a burrito! Who'd ever expect cumin, and an obvious note of cumin, in a perfume? A truly astonishing odor, you have to smell it to believe it! I have to give the guy who brewed this up a point for trying something different, though. In a sea of sweet, fruity, flowery perfumes this one certainly stands out. But many ladies here seem to like it, so I guess it just doesnt work with my chemistry.

  • YULIA02/07/2005

Oh, good GOD!! What the heck is this? It's not a pretty scent at all! No one could make this stupid fragrance work. It smells JUST LIKE the fat kid in gym class. It doesn't wash off easily either. Barf. Stay away from this one.

  • STEVE02/04/2005

I am surprised this is marketed to women. It is very masculine smelling, and the bottle is also very masculine too i feel. This is one awesome scent though. I have heard that the scent is failing in the marketplace considering all the department stores that have dropped it from their inventory. I guess that it was marketed to women and not men. I will have to stock up on this for when it is discontinued.

  • BEBE01/31/2005

awesome. my signature scent. beautiful bottle. one of a kind. deep red and silver. hes a genius.

  • OLYA01/08/2005

I must agree with some of you that this perfume starts out smelling a bit harsh...i did notice the 'bo essence" ...but in about 10 min or so as it perfume weakens a little bit it soooo amazingly subtle and unusual...I love it! Def not for plain janes...

  • HELCAT01/07/2005

NO problem with this lovely exotic fragrance. BUT disapointed with the bottle design being totaly awkward, useless and wasteful What was the designer thinking??? , GET REAL us girls havent got lion paws.

  • LAURA D12/23/2004

Eeek...this was horrible! I smelled like I had worked in a tire burning plant! I had to dispose of the bottle like it was toxic waste..all sealed up and shipped to a southern town.

  • SHELDY12/23/2004

this is a strange perfume i smelled it in paris last month..i was amased how expensive it was..bit oh-la la it's worth it you know, ladies, it smelss like looove

  • SHARRIE12/13/2004

the king to my heart, my fav perfume , a kingdom be a kindom is the brillant of all the stars, amazing

  • SHARRIE12/03/2004

my king for a kingdom.im attached to its awesome animalistic scent. i cant have enough of my kingdom.it grows on me like a panther in his kingdom.

  • JT11/19/2004

I live in Orange County - Southern California, and NO retailer here seems to sell Kingdom. After reading the reviews, I am very curious now and I want to smell it in person. NONE of the department stores carry it (not even the exclusive ones), I even checked several perfume stores and they don't have it either! WHERE are you people buying this?? I don't want to get it online, because I want to be able to smell it in person first. If you know what retailer I can find it at here in SoCal, please let me know! Thank you...JT

  • MERMISS11/14/2004

To me, Kingdom is very masculine and very modern, with only light nuances of femininity. For a very gutsy woman. Or, wonderful lightly applied to a very boheme man.

  • JESSICA11/11/2004

After the first spritz, I had to triple check to make sure this wasn't a men's fragrance. It's not, but maybe it should be. It reeks of alchohol for the first few minutes, reminding me of a sickly sweet aftershave, then dries down to something slightly more candy-like than the old Versus perfume. Eh.

Wow! This is one to wear to bed-- don't want to be explicit hear, so let's just say that it drives both me and my boyfriend "wild"... You have to be pretty darn bold to wear this during the daytime! The cumin/musk notes (heelllo, body odors are where the pheremones are) smell sweet, not sweaty on me after just a moment. HOWEVER, I can wear men's colognes and they smell feminine on me, so it sounds like this is one that you should try a sample/mini first -- at NIGHT -- to see if it works on you. For me, Kingdom is a keeper!

I just bought Kingdom yesterday. At first I was thrown back by the strong b.oish quality of it upon first spray. Then I waited several minutes, and found the drydown to be very sensual, oriental & powdery. Very much on the woodsey side, I would say. But the cumin note which is predominant in the first note quickly fades into more of a sandalwood, rose/powdery type of scent. I never expected to love this scent as much as I now do. McQueen really got it right with this one - there is no hint of "mannish" undertones in this fragrance like there is in the drydown of YSL's "Nu." I would say test it out first, but if you wait a few minutes, the drydown is well worth the wait. Gorgeous bottle as well.

  • MARTIE09/15/2004

The cumin in this makes it smell exactly like body odor. (no joke)

  • JENNA09/08/2004

I bought this for the beautiful bottle but have grown to enjoy the unique scent. It makes me think of a HOT steamy romantic night with my honey. ENJOY!!!

Suzanne - I love this perfume and totally agree with what you said. Was just wondering if you have any other perfumes you'd recommend - seems as though we have the same taste in perfume. Any recommendations of new perfumes for me to try? Thanks!

  • HELENA08/01/2004

Thank you also for not flaming me for my previous posts and my opinion.Never wanted to assult any fan of this perfume ! Maybe I should give it another chance when it's colder, much colder... Now it's awfully hot in here and people looked at me (after I tried to spay it on myself) and I'm affraid thought, that I haven't had a shower for a while....lol...it was quite sad, actually. I was far away from home...

  • SUZANNE07/29/2004

Hi Helena - to answer your question, maybe partially at least - I think that the "BO" smell that so many people notice in Kingdom is the note of cumin, which is an Indian spice commonly used in many curries. To some of us, who love earthy, spicy smells, it is wonderful, but I can totally understand how to others it could smell like stinky sweat. To me it smells like exciting fresh sweat, which is totally different than real "BO". But it is an unexpected note in a perfme, and not for everybody! Hope this helps!

  • HELENA07/26/2004

I'm reading multiple reviews for the Kingdom on the internet and thinking, maybe I tested a bad bottle ? Funny, I read a lot of posts about this one smelling like BO, but many people really like it ?! Is it possible that there are different bottles of this or am I losing my mind ? The one that I tried today was just plain horrible and stinky !

  • HELENA07/26/2004

I was stupid enough to spray it on myself today ! Oh the horror of it !!! It's smells like a male sweat, I swear. So disgusting !!! It is not my body chemistry, because it stank from the first moment....I ran to wash my hand, but it's still stinks, DAMN !!! Can't even rate it !!! I'm giving it one star because of the beautiful bottle....

  • TABY07/16/2004

I love the bottle and the smell is just lovely, really classy and powerful. For anyone who likes to take control

  • HAMPWIFE06/30/2004

this fragrance is for very pretty people and thats what it screams on me that i am pretty!!!!i love it and i know i'm pretty!!!!

  • SUSIE05/30/2004

smells like bug spray to me.

  • REDRAZZ05/23/2004

The discussions of this fragrance really demonstrate the differences in how one fragrance can smell on different individuals. On my skin, there is none of the "garlic, pepper, body odor, etc." that I read about in these messages. Only a gorgeously spiced floral. There are many fragrances I cannot wear, so I am grateful this is one that smells great on me!

  • MICHAEL05/04/2004

    Worth every penny and more.

  • ARVIND04/28/2004

This one rocks!! it lasts longer and the smell is scintillating. I recommend "kingdom" to one and all.

  • KILEY04/27/2004

REALLY SENSUAL; TAKES A TIME OR TWO TO REALLY UNDERSTAND THE NOTES, BUT WORTH THE PERSEVERENCE

  • MARY L.04/25/2004

It smells like curry on me. I'm not sure if that's good or not. There must be cumin in it. It is certainly unusual.

  • SUZANNE04/12/2004

Three Cheers for Kathe,Yvonne, Vicky and Tum - four women after my own heart who are not afraid of a sensual, assertive fragrance for Real Women, not teeny-boppers! I've always said the smell of woodsmoke (as in cuddling around a campfire) is one of the sexiest aromas in the world, and this lovely potin captures the dark, sweet smoky allure of it perfectly! Woodsmoke, incense, maybe a little Indian cuisine (that would be the cumin!) - all of my favorite odors in a perfume that smells delicious and sexy on my skin!

  • KATHE04/07/2004

Wow. Starts out floral-musk, then BOOM it's sensual and darkly animalistic (at least on me). Absolutely unique; you need this in you fragrance wardrobe, though it's not for daytime!

  • YVONNE04/04/2004

This is a fragrance that people either really love, or really hate......there's no in-between! Personally, I love it......deep & very sexy, the cumin is wonderful and lasts all the way through.

  • ISHTAR04/02/2004

When it was launched I was very eager to try it because of all the hype. What a disappointment! It has strong undertones of garlic. If your boyfriend is into Mediterranean cuisine, it could be a hit with him.

  • VICKY04/02/2004

Not the most subtle fragrance that you'll find and it's definately not for everyone. But it's very very warm and sensual.

  • TUM03/28/2004

Sexy animalicand specific smell but not for everyone

  • MGARIS03/20/2004

If anyone wants this fragrance, better buy it soon. It won't be around much longer. A bizarre smell, from a poor excuse for a fashion designer. Try 'Y' from Saint Laurent . . . or anything from Caron. Diorella is gorgeous, too.

  • PERFUMISTA03/12/2004

    Wow, this is really stinky.

  • MARY K.03/12/2004

Ugh!!! Very odd-smelling concoction if there ever was one!!! Don't like it at all!

  • GUDRUN03/12/2004

This smells gross. seriously - it smells like a combination of pepper and body odor.
