I have been using Estée Lauder products since I was 25 years old now 72 would not use any other I love it

this one is a supreme disappointment to me, lovely name and packaging but the scent is simply terrible. way too much going on there. like bug spray, oven cleaner, artificial flowers, funeral homes... anything thats gross has been put into this scent. and its all clashing about. I can imagine it would make people car-sick. there are not too many perfumes I dont like, this is definitely one, the other is Angel.

when i first brought this perfume it smelt like heaven to me. I love the scent and it is sweet my body works well with sweets. and florals love it.

This is just a bit too much floral for me. It seems made for summer, but very strong. It could come off as very cloying. My mom just wears the body cream and it smells yummy on her. She can wear jasmine like no one I know so it smells great.

This is just a bit to much floral for my pick. My mom can wear it and it smells ok, but I get a big hit of gardenia (which I can not stand) or jasmine which I can take in small doses. I think the body cream is better than the perfume and only use a tad of that too. Pretty bottle!

i absolutely love this scent, it's really exotic! smells like orchids... its definitely not your average floral...this will definitely get you noticed, whether for good or bad, since some people hate it... but it gets a thumbs up from me!

I love this scent for summer. I agree with Charlotte below. It seems to be made for the hot weather. I'm not generally a big floral fan so I'm happy to have found one that I love so much. Thanks Estee!

If you love jasmine, give this a try. I can only take jasmine if it is in the background of a fragrance. This is a heady floral - not right for me.

Jasmine is way way too heady in the top and middle notes. The base-note is probably the best faucet of this fragrance - powdery and soft floral, but the jasmine still lingers.

you have to wait for the drydown for this one..at first i hated it and also thought it smelled like paradise intense and then when it dried down i really liked it.

I must say I hate the smell at first. And that my body chemistry is just not quite completely compatible with this scent. But this perfume is great after it has dried down. I had to wait for 30 mins for it to fade. And the smell is just great. Floral, sensual yet clean and soft. It smells just exactly like what could be called 'oriental ylang ylang'. In Hanoi my city, there's a street with this type of plant and the smell of its flower in summer time is just... amazing. It kinds of soothing you down, giving you the kind of pure happiness just like when u are entwined with the nature. perfect. I'm totally content with it.

The beautiful bottle reeled me in and once the bottle was opened....I put it as far back in my closet as possible. Minus 5 Stars for this one!

I really enjoy wearing this perfume. It makes me smile when I smell it. It's tropical and floral but not overwhelming. A little sensual too.

It is a very good scent. One spray and it smells like you stand before Jasmine!!! It is wonderful. It can easily be over done, but if one small spray it is paradise.

Of all the perfumes I have ever worn this one gets the most compliments. People I don't know will ask me the name of my perfume and tell me how much they love it. I had a man tell me he wanted to buy it for his wife so that "she could smell like that"!

This is absolute heaven! If those of you who are unsatisfied want to get rid of yours, just let me know. I know a lot of women who seem to love it but can't afford full price! I try to find nice things for them! Especially here at the holidays! You would make some women who are down on their luck very happy!

I thought This perfume was fresh and youthfull because of the ad and the bottle but when I tryed it...surprise..so ugly its smells like bug spray

When I tried this one out I definitely could understand why they chose the name Paradise because the top notes are quite tropical. However, once they faded down it became a terrible smell. It reminded me of a scent that perhaps a bossy middle-aged woman might wear. I was really disappointed with that dry-down. I could not bear to be near this one after 5+ minutes. Not one for me, sorry.

This fragrance knocks you over. I don't know how you could put it on lightly enough to be able to tolerate it.

My son gave it as a Christmas gift two years ago. I still have a pinch of it nothing takes the place of beyond paradise. it is beyond the paradise. If it don't fix you! it is your chemicals in your body that don't mix with it. it is #1 on my shelf.

Here in South Carolina it is absolutely tropical!! For those of you who live in hot humid climates this one is a winner. Unlike some other "summer" scents which can actually get pretty icky as a hot day goes on, this one seems to LOVE the heat and humidity! I think it's like a hot house flower, just made for this weather and the hotter it gets the better this smells. The ONLY scent I have ever tried that I can stand all day in July and August. It's amazing. Try it. Really.

TROPICAL BEAUTY

My mother gifted me with a large bottle of BP last year. It is not something I would usually wear (I tend to wear orientals). I did enjoy wearing it occasionally in the summer, and my daughter wore it sometimes, as well. The sprayer apparatus broke when the bottle was less than one third gone...very frustrating! I do find the bottle very pretty. I would not purchase it for myself, but it is very nice and a really lovely scent for those ladies who like florals.

I really like this perfume. It reminds me of a warm night on the Islands. The lotion does smell soapy on me but the eau de parfum in really great. While walking into the mall a young man came up from behind and asked what I was wearing. He turned to his wife and said, "Honey, I'll buy you some because I want you to smell as pretty as this lady." This is a light floral without being cloying. This is a perfume I will wear on a cold Colorado night when I'm dreaming of a warm tropical day, burying my toes in the sand, listening to the waves kiss the beach and children's laughter. I am very happy it works with my chemistry because I love it! Also, try Very Irresistible Sensual. That's a very nice one, too!

I like Pleasures. Saw that Beyond Paradise had some awards and tried it. It is ok. I like mostly floral fruity, but also like some pure florals. This one just has some notes that don't appeal to me.

Ok. I'll admit it-I don't care for this fragrance but I can appreciate it--on the strip it smells nice and crispy wet, but on me, wimpy and pathetic. If I were to reformulate this it would smell like a fresh, wet rainforest, with all the watery greens, the bright mist, with the rich earth and tropical flowers--like the wet green forests in hawaii, with plumeria and gardenia, and the ocean salt and mist--THEN it would be Beyond Paradise. (oh well!)

Love the bottle, very pretty. VERY wrong name for this scent though. I will not bash it as being horrible, because it IS nice. Makes a great scent post shower at bedtime. Its a non overpowering, relaxing and clean smell. I find it to be very similar to Marc Jacobs Blush. That being said, when u see the lovely bottle coupled with the exotic name, one would anticipate and subsequently expect a scent of superior quality in every aspect! This is very far from the mark. Further, if this is what being in the realm of "Beyond Paradise" is, then i will just stick with paradise itself :)

This perfume gives me that just got out of the shower feeling.(No you do still have to take showers tho not a excuse not to lol) Yeah i would'nt wear this one o go clubbing but for every day wanna fell clean and sexy this is perfect!

Although my boyfriend loves it, i don't care for it. The floral scent is so nauseating and it reminds me of another one i can't stand. quelques fluer by houbigant. both scents remind me of something middle-aged plus women might wear. sorry

Interesting tropical floral scent. Reminds me of a mix between a flower garden and the ocean. It's not like any other scent I've smelled before. Unique but I prefer warmer, sophisticated scents.

when this purfume first came out i loved it and acually bought some but now (like a year or more later) i its still almost completly full, it smells like the vegetable celery to me not somthing i want to smell like. my sister says it smells like a middle aged woman not that i ever listen to her bcuz she doesnt like ralph lauren and i looove it.

This fragrance grows on you; after wearing it a few times I really do like it. It isn't nearly as delicious as Estee Lauder "Pleasures Exotic" - that fragrance is INTOXICATING (if you like tropical definitely check it out!!) - but it's a keeper! A previous reviewer said this smells like "Happy" (which I also have and love) but I don't see the connection. To me "Happy" is a citrusy floral while this (on me) definitely is more floral - a soothing jasmine and honeysuckle sweet.

I like the scent of this perfume and love that it lasts all day. Why do people rate the bottle? You don't buiy perfume b/c it has a pretty bottle; you buy it b/c you like the scent. People here say they hate the scent but love the bottle. Why rate the bottle (unless you're planing to put it on a chain and wear it around your neck)?

This is a good one to alternate with Joy perfume if you also use that one. You can also layer the two! Delicious!

I love this scent because it is FINALLY a floral scent that does not fade after an hour. Have had a terrible time in recent years finding a scent that does not bother my allergies, yet has staying power. This is like a lovely bouquet of fresh flowers every time you wear it! For those who say the tope note is too strong, please try the body cream. It is wonderful and if you put it on first and then layer the scent on top...mmmmmmmmm! Really lives up to it's name. Best summer scent in years!

The bottle is adorable, but the fragrance not so great. It seemed like an odd mix of chemicals.

I am so happy to have discovered the Estee Fragrances! They are so nice! To me, beyond paradise is only good if you carry off light floraly fragrances really well. BP summer is much better, this just smells watery and insipid on me. But many of the pre-1990 ones (not white Linen, eww, soap) smell so nice on me! It's like Estee has a split-personality with its fragrances. As long as they keep the oldies but goodiies I'll be with Estee! (I won't knock BP no more if you won't knock youth Dew. Deal?)

It must be my chemistry. I had a little sample vial and I tried it at the office. It smelled like way too soapy on me. My co-workers thought it was not too bad. In short, unremarkable. Pity.

on me, this works well. smells very nice, very feminine and floral. the mood is somewhat warm and sophisticated and reminds of cream or powder b/c it's not a light, crisp smell but I like it a lot and will use it for evenings! good staying power too. still searching for the light, summery fresh floral for the summer though!

This is an absolutely fabulous scent! I have no idea why anyone would dislike this scent. A little tip though: the staying power of this perfume is wonderful so use only a little spritz!

I just had to put in a good word for this gorgeous, unique, delicious fragrance. Even the blend of flowers that is used to create this fragrance is different from the list found in every other perfume. It's a heady, sweet, delicious fragrance that is just tropical enough without becoming overly fruity. It is neither too sweet, too fruity, too sharp, or too powdery. It is not too elegant, not too mature, or too teenager-ish. It is the most beautifully harmonious blend of olfactory joy...one of my favorites...and it lasts and lasts. No need to respray. The delightful bottle does the fragrance justice. It's a unique and lovely experience.

Hmm..this smells a little tangy, and I can't put my finger on what it smells like. It's unique, but not for me. The bottle is very pretty, but the spray can get sticky with regular use.

I like this one but I don't love it. It's perfect for summer though. ANd the bottle is really pretty. I love that iridescent. Kinda of a floral muskiness. Very nice though.

First of all, its kind of silly to just buy a fragrance online and not knowing how its gonna smell on you. Everyone's body chemistry is different so every scent is gonna smell different on every person. The biggest tip anyone can give is to try it out in a store first then buy it online ;)

It's just a touch strong off the top for me, but after about 30 minutes or so, the sweetness of it overtakes. She doesn't like stuff that is overbearing. You know the stuff that gives one nausea and headaches. I love it. My wife loves it. It is an exotic smell for sure.

This scent lives up to its name, all right! It's fresh, clean and somewhat exotic...just like paradise.

Finally a parfume that truelly captures the smell of blue hyacinth in a bottle (good looking bottle too)! I love hyacinth the flower and had been looking for a parfume that really smells like one, this is it. Best smelling parfum made by estee in my opinion, second would be intense pleasures.

the bottle is beautiful, no doubt. I imagined it to be a softer, fresher scent that it actually was. It isn 't terrible, I just thought the blue hyacinth top note came on a bit too strong.

I got a free sample of this and I put it on every day, I loved it. Then all of a sudden everyone has it on and I can't stand the smell anymore. It seems to overwhelming when worn by others. I thought that it smelled so exotic, but still mainstream enough to enjoy. For some reason, it is nausiating on other people. When ever I smell it I get queasy and it is a "sneeze" perfume, most def. It lingers in the air and on clothing, so be prepared to smell it and smell it and smell it. Give it time, to see if you will like it. I say the same for those who don't like it, give it time, it is a nice scent over all.

I did not like this fragrance. I thought it smelled a bit like soap... I didn't find it refreshing either... One gets an impression that this fragrance lacks some core note that would make it into something.

The woman's scent is more harsh. The men's is more floral, but in a good way.

I hated this at first and did not change my mind for a long time. I was sort of "anti-floral" for a while, and orientals and chypres have always been my favorites. But, after warming up to Michael by Michael Kors, Happy Heart, and Rosamor, I really love this. Maybe it's the Eden Mist that gives a dewy note that some don't like. I love this now, and I certainly never thought a year ago, I'd be exchanging something to get a bottle of this. I also think the men's smells great.

This Perfume is Great. The smell is very exotic and strong. It lasts throughout the day and i get many complements on it. Another Great Perfume by Estee Lauder.

My husband just asked me what I was wearing..he said he liked it alot...that it wasn't confusing, and that it smelled "young". This was a gift from my daughters...a mini that came in a set...I had to give it time because at first, I didn't care for this at all...but the drydown on me is great...very comfortable to wear...doesn't give me a headache...I usually like chypres, but this is a very nice change.

PLEEEASE, do not spend your money on this stuff! It smells SO CHEAP...and just as boring and shallow as Glow by J.Lo. I was expecting a floral, sexy-as-hell scent because of its beautiful bottle but it was a BIG disappointment. I cannot understand gals who spend fortunes on perfumes without smelling them first...

I couldn't believe that estee lauder was putting gift certificates out in the magazines last year and this year for a free purse spray of this! What a deal and to try it out. Some women can't afford the big bottle,but I think this is a great idea to get it out there and given to all women. I don't remember any company doing that ever unless you had to buy something first. I saw the card in DEC. lucky and I think the Dec. teen vogue. So better hurry if you want one! I think most estee lauder counters are participating. It's a great perfume and smells so good on.

beyond paradise is the best prefume I have ever smelld.

It smells ok in the bottle, and at first ok on the person, but after awhile, it has a deoderant type smell to me, and on some people wearing it around me, it kind of smells like slightly rotted peaches; you know, when they first start to get mushy. I don't find it "refreshing" or "exotic" as others have described it to me.

Judging by the mixed reviews on this message board, this is one of those like-it-or-loathe-it fragrances. I'm still undecided myself, it has some very exotic ingredients but is quite a strong scent, despite the pretty bottle. The Eden project in England that inspired this scent has now been dismantled - it was an environmental project with a huge dome with tropical plants to create a micro climate.

I bought the mini of this and will be buying a bigger bottle soon. I get tons of compliments on this one. I own 15 fragrances. It is unique, not like all the other common scents out there. I don't mind if people don't like wearing this one, that means that I won't have to smell like everyone else when I walk in a room. Smells great on my skin and that's all that matters to me. Love It!!!!!

This comes in such beautiful packaging, it is a shame the perfume is such a disappointment. It is far too strong and smells like air freshner! I definately won't be giving this one another glimpse. I'm not surprised it has recieved such bad reviews here.

"horrible" is the only word which best describe Beyond Paradise. I was attracted by its pretty bottle. But I found that the smell just makes me feel like hell.

This is estee lauder's best seller. I think it is so lush and exotic. I know there are notes in it never used in a perfume before. From the rainforests and other far off places. I love it, it's sexy and men love it. It's been voted countless times in all the magazines the best scent. It unfolds on your skin like a true real flower throughout the day and I'm happy with my choice. I think most women are.:)

First impressions - I love the multi-coloured bottle and desperateley wanted to like the scent, which I did at first. But as soon as it had dried down I kept smelling it trying to get past the icky artificial smell (not floral at all?)... it has absolutely no depth, making it a very shallow perfume indeed. Disappointed, Estee Lauder :o(

well Its simple and boring:I was expecting something more attractive like the bottle but :(

...I bought it because my first impression of it was good. After two days of wearing it, I had the worst headache ever. It's not a very good smell. I gave it a two for the absolutely gorgeous bottle. Oh well, back to my old perfume.

The first time I smelled in the store it smelled good that's why I bought this right away but when I used it again, I realized I don't like this kind of scent, its too flowery, it has the same similiarity of scent with Bora-bora, its light but this kind of scent is not unique.

My mother bought this for me. I love it. It's has a nice light scent.

Even Luca Turin touts Beyond Paradise as the ultimate floral. I only ask what floral? We love flowers mostly for their softness, beauty and subtlety. But Beyond Paradise has none of this qualities. On the contrary it is harsh, sickening and head-ache inducing. Beyond horrible!

i bought it a month ago, i guess i was taken by an adverb, i regret spending money on it, now i smell like i was a russian perfume seller( if You know what i mean) there is far too much hiacynt, SCENT WITHOUT STYLE (why did i spend so much money...stupid me!;)

If you have any allergic reaction to perfumes at all, this one is not for you. In addition, it is not a pretty smell. It is overpowering and sickeningly sweet.

In my message posted earlier i gave this a one star negative review. I have had to change my posting. The first time i tried this was on a scent card and I had been fighting a headache when I smelled it. I never thought about it again until I asked a gal I work with what the wonderful perfume she was wearing was; low and behold it was Beyond Paradise. I went that day to the Estee counter and got a small sample. I liked it on my skin. It has a soapy floral smell on me. The staying power was like no other. I do believe it is one I would only wear in the warmer weather months though. I then ordered a small GWP size for the summer. I'm glad I gave it a 2nd chance. I'm getting rather tired of the oriental that I usually buy and this one is a nice change. Does anyone have any suggestions for clean, soft ,florals that may be worth trying that could be used year round? Thanks!!!!

This is one of my least favorite scents. It is so strong and artificial smelling. I would never wear this. It would choke off the people I work with. I prefer the warmer, more natural scents. Very disappointed in the fragrance, but the bottle is simply stunning.

My mom gave me a sample tube of the body cream and I had to have the reast of the set! I bought the whole set the very next day. I love the flowery notes that last all day on my skin. I get so many compliments from men and women alike. If you like floral perfumes this is the one for you! take a chance with Estee Lauder. I have NEVER bought one of her perfumes before. I am strictly a Givenchy kind of gal. Enjo shold you choose to endeavor.

I use the Beyond Paradise body lotion and I constantly receive compliments on it. Each time I wear it, strangers literally stop me on the street to tell me I smell good and ask me what fragrance I'm wearing. It lasts longer than the EDP and it is a great moisturizer. One of my co-workers recommends using it after you shave your legs because it is non-irritating. Beyond Paradise is a very feminine fragrance. Its great for the summer or for those stressful days at the office when you would rather be on a tropical island but can't get up and leave. I do think this fragrance is quite strong and while I wear it frequently, after about two hours it begins to smell too syrupy sweet to me almost to the point of giving me a headache. I've never received one single complaint while wearing it, however. People do tend to love the smell of it. The lotion is a good value for the money because it is a longer lasting fragrance and a great body product.

This fragrance is FANTASTIC! The smell is absolutely intoxicating and exotic. It is very sexy and it lingers all day. I like to wear it at night because of its sexy scent. It smells NOTHING like Still by J.LO!! I own them both and they are total opposites! Still is a fresh day fragrance and Beyond Paradise is a sexier evening scent! Highly recommended!!

What a beautiful bottle and when I first spray it on it reminds me of a Tropical Vacation! Unfortunately it doesn't last at all on me. I was thinking if layering it with the body lotion as I like to smell my fragrance a bit while wearing it. A beautiful 'hot'weather fragrance to wear in the Summer or on vacation.

I absolutely love this fragrance. It doesn't seem to last very long, but if I apply the lotion, the scent seems to linger on for quite a bit longer.

This fragrance isn't terrible, but it is a bit too sweet and doesn't last beyond an hour. If you are looking for something with a good fruity-floral mixture that lasts try "Light Blue". Alot of compliments.

I think because of all the different notes in this, it may not wear well on a lot of people. Me however, I love it! It lasts all day and whenever I wear it, I always get asked about it. Very fresh, but not grassy fresh and flowery without being too sweet.

I was curious to see if Estee Lauder is making anything good. Not really, it was ordinary and pretty bad. It doesn't deserve its name. The smell is unpleasant, too sharp and too many notes.

It took awhile to grow on me, but this is excellent. I don't understand why most perfume lovers rate this boring, bad, or ordinary. It smells better than Marc Jacobs, which is overrated IMHO. It is not like Pleasures at all. It is the jasmine and humidity that is similar. This one is far more exotic than Pleasures.

I love this scent, but it is gone after about about an hour, no matter how much I put on.

Have you tried Still by J.Lo? Well the smell is identical! Next time you go to a dept. store, try BP on one wrist, and Still on the other. You wont notice the difference. The reason I say this is because that is exactly what I did yesterday. Not to mention, both scents are only OK and highly overated.

Phew...what a sickening stench! Estee has lost her touch with this one; she needs to rediscover Paradise.

BP is almost aromatherapeutic - it really gives me a sensation of well-being! It's a joyous, complex floral in which I pick up notes of freesia and lily-of-the-valley (muget). I am so glad that florals are back in!

Years ago Victoria's Secret had a scent called Exotic Bouquet that they discontinued. This is a classier version of that - sweet, tropical and very sexy!

the drydown of Fidji. Top notes are a nice tropical burst. Cute bottle.

I think Beyond Paradise is a wonderful perfume. I am on my third bottle of it and I get compliments whenever I wear it.

I got this as a gift. I think it smells just like paradise. My husband really likes it. This is the first one he has ever liked on me. So I will always wear this one. I do not think that it has an old lady smell at all. So you need to just try it.

I received a bottle of Beyond Paradise for the holidays. This is one fragrance that will last and last all day long. At the end of the day when you get into your PJ's, you will still smell it. I have gotten many positive comments from people. Its my favorite and I think it will be yours too.

This is the first fragrance that truly matched it ad in Vogue. I received it as a gift, and it smells just as wonderful on my skin as it did in the add. The bottle is beautiful, and so is the scent. I will be wearing this scent for years to come.

Don't buy this if you hate florals - especially jasmine. As for myself, the jasmine was most overpowering and obvious. (This lasted for the first 2 hours). The end notes are much more pleasant. Staying-power-wise, I lasted 5 hours without having to reapply. And because of the price, a mini is definitely worth finding/buying - you'll either really love it or really hate it.

This perfume gives great value as it lasts and lasts and lasts and lasts. A very white flower distilled in a bottle that spells purity, wistfulness, and something to be cherished. I love it.

Nothing remarkable abt. this one except for the high price! Fades rapidly and smells old-ladyish.

The bottle is nice and I really like the scent. It is a sharp floral but it is delicate at the same time. Not too over-powering but enough to let people know you have arrived.

This one is delightful - imagine all the white tropical flowers and a few conventional garden ones thrown in and you have a long-lasting, very fresh, very lovely, all day perfume.

When I saw the bottle, I thought that it would smell very beautiful. I thought it was too strong, and not a pretty scent at all.

My son bought me this for Christmas. I love the fragrance. It lasts all day!!

I tend to stay away from any Estee Lauder perfume because most of them have very strong smell and give's me a headache but I must say this one is a very light and refreshing. It's about time that they made a perfume for women who like light and refreshing smells. Thank you ESTEE LAUDER

I have both now and they smell exactly alike, to me. So Beyond Paradise is nothing new.

It would have to be the last perfume on the earth before I purchase it. The smell is very very strong it has a disgusting smell.

This is a nice scent if you like tropical scents. Reminds me of some suntan lotions out there. The bottle is lovely and has a nice design. This is a really big change for EL....give it a try.

I wore nothing but Beautiful for 15 years, and have been looking for that special scent to replace it (grew tired of it, and everyone seems to wear it). I think that Beyond Paradise might be it. I love the gentle, floral smell. Only one caveat--everyone else posting is raving about the scent being a long lasting one...whereas I spray the heck out of myself and it seems to fade within 3 hours...my boyfriend's reaction was "I can hardly smell this one"...and that was only after a few hours.

Couldn't make up my mind to get this or Pleasures intense. Smells just a little stronger than the latter. I think I prefer Beyond Paradise. What do you think?

As soon as I sprayed it on, I worried that it might be to cloying. One of my friends complimented me on it but she says I smell like a bouquet of flowers. It's pretty- an every day kind of perfume but I wouldn't classify this as an attention-getter. The top notes are a bit much. I look forward to the bottom notes mostly. Good lasting power.

I was very very pleased it has a slight hint of lilly of the valley last a long it is #1 on my xmas list!!!

A floral blend of exotic flowers and tropical fruits. It's nice in a very mainstream conventional way. It smells clean, fresh, sweet, and feminine. It lasts a long time (I sprayed once in morning and smelled it still at end of day) without being too strong or overwhelming. It's a good everyday officewear scent. Very pretty bottle too.

Love the color of the bottle! This is a very nice scent smells clean, and crisp leaves awonderful trail.

I tired this for the first time and I think its a keeper.

its not bad but its kinda boring. not what i expected from its description. but it does have a spring/summerish feel to it... so so i won't buy this one

Leave it on for quite a while and you'll will get that gentile feeling. A great gift for that special person you love. A strong candidate for the fragrance of the year.

I sprayed some on my arms today and 10 hours later I can still smell it. It reminds me of Jess or Casual which I think has a gardenia smell. I will probably buy it!
