Bellagio is a wonderful scent. Very different; however, it totally depends on your body chemistry. It is great on me, but not so great on some of my friends. I love it.

  • ANNE10/23/2008

I have read the negative reviews, and am quite surprised. I really like the scent of Bellagio. If you like floral scents then you will probably like this one. It is one of my favorite perfumes.

I picked this up for cheap at a certain national discount store, wooed by the pretty Italian name and the "made in Italy" imprint on the back of the box. But WHEN, oh when, will I learn to try before I buy? Bellagio smelled almost like burning tires when I first applied it, then slightly less toxic and more floral (although with a heavy, cheapish smell, like something an old auntie might wear when she gets all decked out (sorry, old aunties!). Not pretty! Then again, it could be my chemistry. Or, the scent may have turned. Anyway, lesson learned!

i purchased carlos santana for my husband, and the perfume store was running a special: $5 for a 1oz bellagio with any purchase. it didn't smell that wonderful to me on the card, but i bought it anyway b/c it was so cheap. i tried it, and it just doesn't work w/ my chemistry. i kept getting a whiff of honeydew or cantaloupe melons while wearing this fragrance, which i absolutely hate. i can't really understand why, b/c there is no mention of any fruit notes in the fragrance description. i think this perfume may be better for light haired women with dry skin.

Thank you so much for your suggestion. I wanted to let you know, after reading the reviews about it on this website, I did buy some Stella McCartney in the lotion. I have only worn it twice, so far, but I received several compliments. It's not quite as spicy as I would like but it is not overpowering or cloying and it is a very "true rose" scent, perfect for spring or summer....again, thanks Barbara!!!!

  • SUSAN12/22/2005

i posted a review here on monday 12/19 but it was never posted for some reason,(it had no profanity, and many reviews here contain profanity. i guess someone took exception to my remark that it smelled like a dead rat, which it really did...) so i will try again: i keep reading reviews where this is described as a clean scent. i bought this based upon those reviews: what i recieved was anything but clean: it was stong, overpowering and smelled like cheap perfume that had gone "off": like something that was 20 years old and had been sitting in the sun fior those 2 decades and cooked down to a noxious concentrate: it was the most disgusting thing i have ever smelled. since i also ordered the bellagio for men for my husband and it was awesome, i am wondering if this was really bellagio, or if something else had been placed in the bottle (PS I DID NOT ORDER IT FROM THIS SITE) .. anyway, it was 20.00 wasted : another reason to always test before buying, and not to rely on reviews of others. however i must say that all other reviews have been spot on. :) peace out, susan

Have you tried Stella by Stella McCartney? You said in an earlier post that you like rose scents, and this one is fantastic. Its base is amber, so it has a warm/woody base to it that balances the rose really well. It's fresh and modern and would be appropriate for the office, too. Let me know what you think.

  • ROSIE10/12/2005

i purchased bellagio from a different web supplier. i was disappointed not only did it arrive broken, but it didnt smell so good either. the designer was cheap when designing this perfume. the scent doesnt last also, the top note is just too strong and alcoholish. i wouldnt recommend this perfume to any sane woman who wants to smell good.

  • JAKQUA10/10/2005

I got this one in the mail last week. I was so excited about trying it that I had my mother open it and smell it before I got home from work. I am sad to report that I don't like it. It doesn't smell anything like I expected. At my first whiff, I thought it smelled like a fragrance I mixed up at one of those "make your own scent" places that was popular back in the early 90's, Garden Botanika is what I believe it was called, is that company still in business? Anyway, the weather in my area has gotten cooler so, for now, I am going to stick with my old stand by Paloma Picasso....just one spray per day, as far as getting complaints about it on my job, I will just have to take my chances!!!!

  • JAKQUA09/26/2005

You all have convinced me to try this one. My favorite cologne for the past 7 years has been Paloma Picasso. I am also a fan of Clinique Aeromatics. Last year, I got married and moved to a new (big) city. I just started my 2nd new job about a month ago and although I received compliments on my fragrance, I was told by one of the bosses my perfume was bothering one of the coworkers allergies, even though I only had on the lotion and the coworker who complained smokes by the way.... Anyway, I am once again on the "hunt" for a rosey, spicy, woody/mossey scent that stays with you all day, is sophisticated but of course is not too strong. I will let you know what I think of this one later..... If you have any suggestions on other scents that fit the category I am looking for that you think may be worth a try, please post me a message, Thanks.

This perfume gives me a headache. I do not like it. It also reminds me of Tommy Girl and Issy Miyake. If you like "clean scents" it it for you. If you are like me-avoid it. I do not plan to get more once I am out.

  • VICTORIA08/04/2005

I smelled it while we were staying at Bellagio in Las Vegas. this is very light clean slightly musky perfume. I really liked it and after reading some comments here realized that it does smell very simular to L'eau d'Issey. I had that one before and liked it also but the price is outrageous. This one is much cheaper. My only dissapointment that it doesn't last very long so I have to keep reapplying. Bummer.

  • LEE ANN07/25/2005

This perfume gave me a headache. Those clean scents do not last on me. Unless you like the clean smelling scents I would not buy this one.

  • EMMY06/13/2005

This really does remind me of L'eau D'Issey, only I think that I like it even better. I even think it lasts longer. Very nice!!!!!

  • CHLOE05/28/2005

Micheal Angelos Bellagio smells wonderful.I can't wear it without compliments. It is like Issey. I don't know about a different one by parlux. There is nothing strong about this scent.

  • BELLE03/29/2005

I smelled "Bellagio" in a store, but it was by "Michael Angelo" instead of by "Bellagio". Does anyone know what that's all about? Also, this "Perfume Emporium" site is saying "Bellagio" is by "Parlux Fragrances". This is confusing. The one I smelled by "Michael Angelo" smelled good (a lot like "Issey Miyake"). RSVP please!

  • PAM03/10/2005

One of the best buys I've found. Smells fresh....great! I cant'wear it without getting compliments. Very close to Issey without the price!

  • PAM03/07/2005

The best perfume around. So close to Issey without the price! I always get compliments when I wear it.

  • BON BON 01/21/2005

If you like Lilly of the Valley you will enjoy this TO me it seems sour but am trying to get used to it here in the desert. Tribu works better for me . Can any one tell me if all the Bellagio perfume s are the same scent ? I got mine by Michaelangelo not made by Bellagio .Help I am confused.

  • MICHELE12/26/2004

Try Chanel #5 COLOGNE, not perfume and not toillette. COLOGNE only

  • KIM09/07/2004

I bought this because of the reviews and it didn't pass the test. It is too strong for me. Any recommendations for any soft floral scent that won't give me a headache?

  • ANN06/19/2004

This is my favorite perfume! Almost all perfumes give me headaches, but this one doesn't! I wore it the evening I was engaged, on my wedding day and plenty of other times!

  • PAULA05/25/2004

I purchased this fragrance when I stayed at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas two years ago. I could not get over how great this fragrance smelled - light and fresh but lasting! This fragrance is not only perfect to wear in the desert climate of Vegas, but just about anywhere and anytime! I liked this fragrance so much that when I stayed at the Bellagio again last year, I just had to buy another bottle!

  • PJEMERALD11/21/2003

I first smelled this perfume while visiting the Bellagio Hotel on vacation in Las Vegas last summer. I fell in love with it. I'm so happy that it's available online. This is a very sexy and feminine fragrance.
