This perfume has me smelling my own wrists all day! I just love it, earthy, leathery, ripe...flowers without being "flowery". Sex in a bottle.

  • CIGDEM07/11/2011

I have used Bandit since late 50s as my signature. It was best in the breeze after many hours of wear. Unfortunately, it is not the same Bandit anymore. I was told in Paris that it was not cost-effective to pick the flowers as they used to. Hence, the sweet, heavy new version. I miss it a lot and cannot find any other perfume to replace it! I feel naked without it!

  • RANDA03/06/2011

I have to agree with JK that Bandit is not the same as it used to be. I have been wearing it since the mid 1960s and have been very disappointed since the re-release that the scents are not like the original ones. I have had more luck with the parfum than the EDP but I have poured out several bottles that were entirely too sweet. They smelled more like Fracas than Bandit. I thought they were mis-labeled. I would spend any amount to have my original Bandit back.

  • JK02/21/2011

I just received my latest bottle of Bandit EDP. It is unbelievable how disappointing it is. It is sweet, and not at all what I have been buying for several years. I will never buy this again. This company has just lost a good, loyal customer. I have checked several other sights, and interestingly, other women are recently saying the same thing. It may be no big deal to many, and certainly not to the company. But to those of us who work for our money, we are not going to throw it away on something that is so disappointing. Bye, bye, Bandit. You were great while you lasted.

  • ANDREW01/03/2011

Calm down M. I think your comments are an over-reaction. Jude didn't mean to offend any one. It is his right to express his thoughts and if he feels the perfume is more masculine to his nose, them that is is opinion. I think you are being highly critical and judging. Venting is good but I think you hit the wrong target. Peace

  • MELISSINA12/15/2010

As a woman who has worn Bandit since it was first re-released in the late 1990's, I was very offended by Jude's ignorant post. Just because a man likes a scent does not mean it is 'more for men than for women'. He describes it as dark, mysterious, complex, etc. These are all qualities that describe me, and as Bandit was a signature scent of mine that my husband has tried to purchase for Christmas for me with little success, I was very angry at the presumptuous post of that jerk. Bandit is a scent for real FEMALE women - DEAL WITH IT! The female is always more dangerous than the male, and as a Bandit woman, I can say unequivocally, that I would eat such a boy for breakfast. Bandit was created BY A WOMAN, FOR WOMEN. DEAL WITH IT, BOY! If you want to wear women's scents, that's fine, but don't try to co-opt them and insult women. Hopeless osser! A REAL MAN is attracted to a WOMAN who wears BANDIT. Note to PE: Bring it back soon. Why is it so hard to find? As a slinky brunette, I am a Bandit woman.

  • BETTY04/08/2010

I can't live without it! Men follow me around when I wear it.

  • DEBS01/07/2008

Without a doubt I suggest using the EDP form of 'Bandit', as the EDT is harsh and synthetic. And... as I stated in my earlier post the pure parfum (1 oz.) is a whole different animal, being smooth and a chypre/floral. The spray versions are chypre/leather based. All in all, each has its own personality!

  • JUDE C11/27/2007

How is this stuff for women? I simply think not, it is for men. I use the edt and the edt light for homme. This is a fascinating scent that is similar to Monsieur Musk. So potent, and very masculine. Somewhat similar to Antaeus for men. Bandit is extremely potent, sexy, dark, complex. It is a fascinating scent, that to me, is better for men than women.

  • SMELLIE KAT10/16/2007

Bandit: Lovely-resin-tar-creamy-floral-smart-feminine-shy-masculine-leather-arresting-enduring-disarming-beautiful. In a class all its own.

  • KATIE03/05/2007

OBVIOUSLY THIS MUST SMELL GREAT ON SOME PEOPLE OR IT WOULDN'T STILL BE AROUND. BUT ON ME IT SMELLS LIKE BURNT LEATHER... IN A BAD KIND OF WAY.

  • KATHY Z.08/23/2006

I really, really wanted to like this perfume with its rich history and all the positive posts here. But, alas, I do not. I might be able to tolerate it on someone else, but I just can't pull it off. Very long lasting. I have tried to wear it more than once since I had invested in a bottle, but its just not me. Too masculine.

  • FRAGRANCE JUNKIE06/10/2006

Whew! Not sure what hit me with Bandit, but it certainly gets my attention! The description is wonderful, so I felt compelled to try it. All the posts here were very helpful too. It is a stong scent, a bit masculine, yes. But that's okay. There are occasions that this scent will be too much for, so I will likely use Bandit more for going out in the evening. It is not overpowering to me, but then again I just used a tiny spritz the other day to check it out. Must say it lasted very well on me, so I will have to use caution when applying it in the future. Can't bathe in it like I usually have to with today's watered-down fragrances. I love the story behind Bandit. Anything with a history like this gladly holds a place in my collection. It's one of those perfumes a collector like me just has to include, even if it is not my most favorite scent in the world. I rated it 4 stars for now, becuase the scent itself is not as appealing to me as many of my other perfumes. However, I may change that rating the more I play with Bandit. Love the black sleek bottle design too. Have totally had it with today's clever goofy-shaped bottles that you can't even hold in your hand, let alone spray correctly. This bottle is plain, pure and simple; nothing like the magic potion inside.

  • TREVA05/31/2006

Bandit is not for everybody, but it is certainly for me. Someone said it was like the crack of a whip at first, but the drydown is wonderful. It would last over 24 hours on me....or until I shower.

  • DEBS05/05/2006

It is incredible! the 1 oz. pure parfum is completely different than the eau de parfum spray. I adore both versions but reserve the spray form for certain moods. 'Bandit' pure parfum is very soft and feminine; similar to 'La Perla' and 'Diva'. It is like nothing I expected. Very happy!

  • JK01/31/2006

One of the very few scents I can still smell the morning after. It lasts, and lasts, and gets better with every passing hour. Many compliments. And....it is so different from the normal flowery scents. If you like to be an individual and not smell like an assembly line production, this will do it.

  • JK01/17/2006

I have tried so many of the classics. I don't go for the newer things, certainly not the fads. But the classic appeal to me. As for Bandit, the frist time I tried it, I thought, Not for me. But....I tried it again, and am I ever glad I did. It is so classy. Not too sweet, and certainly not common. Just the best. People lean closer to me, and breathe. Then they smile, and say, "WOW. What are you wearing?" Hard to find, but that's good. Not for every woman, true. But certainly for me, if you don't want to smell yourself in every elevator, etc.

  • JAN01/06/2006

I did not like this at first. I smelled it in a dept. store. Then, to my dismay, I could smell it in my mind for days. I have prefered Fracas, but now, I love them both. They are very different one from the other, and they both grow on you. I love something like both of these that is different from the norm. I like for people to ask me what I am wearing, not tell me because they recognize it. Hopefully, I will never have to be without either of these wonderful fragrances. Fracas, and Bandit. Pure class.

  • DENNIS11/15/2005

Whoa, baby! Stop in the name o' luv! She's playin' my song & every other thing/string when she wears Bandit. Sunset Boulevard here I come...

  • JAN10/31/2005

I tried Bandit. Interesting history and cute idea with toy guns on the runway, but that does not make a good fragrance. I prefer Fracas. But be careful. Fracas is strong, so a little goes a long way. I receive daily compliments on Fracas. None.....when I wore Bandit. But, then, I understand not all fragrances smell alike on women. For you who love it.....enjoy.

  • BEBE BULLET07/08/2005

my fav scent. rare. unsual very nice. one of a kind. the true beholder.

  • JESSICA05/03/2005

A bitter, wheat-based bottom makes Bandit unlike any other scent. Marlene Deitrich's signature scent (that'll tell you this is not for the typical girly girl). My cold weather staple.

  • AKA4KIM04/19/2005

This is an awesome fragrance. It has an edge but one that has a bit of a corve that is not noticeable until worn for a bit. Very sexy & provacative, but not to the extent that it is overbearing. This frangrance could easily be re-launched, Especially when you do not want to smell like every one else or like a teenager......believe it or not there are a lot of us "woment" left. Please do not tell anyone else about this.

  • SHARRIE01/29/2005

one of my signature scents, magickal. magnificant. the baddest of the bad the best. awesome.takes intelligents and creative spirit to love it.

  • SHARRIE12/24/2004

bandit is bewildering. bandit ids the badest. fav of mine. toy guns and swords on the runeway, terrificly wonderful.

  • MERMISS11/18/2004

My first reaction to Bandit was "Gack! Son of a gun!" Very strong, very pungent, like metal and patchouli. To me this is an S&Mish type scent for extremely bad*** women (Marlene Dietrich comes to mind). I could never pull this off, heck I could never be in the same room with it, but this is only my opinion. Kudos to those who can wear it and enjoy it.

  • PERISCOPE10/18/2004

...about half an hour for this perfume to become less harsh on you (edp) but then it smells better and better. Like sweet tobacco smoke mixed with leather I think, and some mature flowers. It has something sophisticated to it too.

  • LLL07/27/2004

I love Bandit! It's very unique. I do notice a similarity of Clinique's perfume "Wrappings" to Bandit--so if you are a Wrappings fan and fed up with not being able to find it--try Bandit. It's got the same punch as Wrappings (if not more), and more history. ;)

  • STEPHANIE05/14/2004

This is a wonderful and unique scent! I've been looking for something different and this is it. I highly recommend it if you want to stand out and it lasts quite long too!

  • DIZBAT05/05/2004

If a chyper type scent are your favorite, this is a good one for you. I'm not a patchouli lover by any strech of the imagination. I find this perfume very masculine. When I tried it the first time I had to go on-line and check if it was a man's scent. I read this scent was very popular with women in the 1920's. If you buy this one and don't like it give it to the man in your life. Bandit smells great on my fiancee.

  • LISA03/24/2004

...but be sure to get the EDP. The EDT is too harsh and leathery. The EDP has such nice, soft floral notes along with the exotic leather/chypre smell. Fabulous! Can't imagine feeling bad when wearing it. It's very empowering, for the woman who knows what she wants. It's a "power" scent. PS Similar (but not the same) "leathery" scents are: Miss Balmain, Jolie Madame, Miss Dior, and Cabochard. My two favorite are Bandit and Jolie Madame. But I love them all!

  • JENKIVOVA ILINKA01/01/2004

hello...it's impossible to find Bandit in my country with witch other perfume can you compare it to? i know it's chypre and has mirrth in it is it like caron's parfum sacre meets magic noire? thank you waiting for a responce

  • LIZ11/24/2003

Don't know if Rhonda is still considering Bandit, but it's one of my all-time favorites. Definitely unique, strong, and long-lasting. However: I would not agree that it is at all a soft or feminine scent. It is a sophisticated chypre with a slightly masculine edge. Dark and potent.

  • RHONDA10/02/2003

This sounds intetesting. Is it long lasting? I'm looking for a unique perfume.

  • SHARON09/12/2003

I Love Bandit!! I have loved this perfume since the 70's. My sister-in-law used to bring it to me from Germany. This perfume is the most lovely soft scent and becomes a part of you after it settles in. It calms my spirit and makes me feel so feminine. My favorite!

  • MONIKA MALIYE07/10/2003

I have known and used this perfume since 1963 (last purchased 6 or 7 years ago in the original clear glass bottle & acid yellow packaging, not the reproduction black ! A wonderful fragrance, if the orginial composition !
