  • CARL FROM IWAKUNI MCAS, JPN05/20/2011

Really dig this warm, woody & ultra fruity love potion which is a mystery to the women. Could use more staying power but it's well worth the $$ and not every other chap out there wears it to death.

  • EVAN10/26/2008

Hi every1.I am a student.i wan 2 buy a colone of lacost brand.I mreally confused after reading all d notes of yours.please suggest me which 1 i should by.plz give me suggestion at [email protected].

  • UM...09/17/2008

get a ton of compliments from the chicks. smells awesome and very versatile cologne. romantic/sporty/casual the real deal

  • BD06/17/2008

The rum, apple, and vanilla notes dominate. I kept waiting for citrus or perhaps wood notes to balance the sweet notes, but it really didn't happen. This is a good fragrance, lasts a long time, but it's a bit too sweet for my taste.

  • R. SHREST11/26/2007

You seem to make some sensible comments on other fragrance boards but you had to get carried away for once eh? Less of the name calling on other posters here please. You should know the obvious, an individual's personal body chemistry plays a big part in bringing out some particular notes in a scent so not everyone experiences the juice the same. I dunno who you were quoting but I too got some slight muskiness early on from about 10 mins after spraying. It does state in the description the basenotes carry a hint of musk. On top the part rum may be playing alongside agarwood's sometimes sharp balsamic character might be to blame for the slight smokiness in the drydown. To me this stuff is just not smooth enough or well blended. Take care!

  • R. SHREST11/25/2007

Well this is more or less a copy of Boss #6 and not as smooth as the Hugo classic nor as sensuous. I have noticed a pattern while trying out new scents where if there are top notes of apples, it turns real stale smelling on me (eg. DKNY Be Delicious - though I wouldn't buy it for its name alone). The scent on the drydown is simple but the notes aren't well blended together and there's something verging on slight smokiness. Don't like rum at all so can't say I'm happy with that note amongst it all. Lacoste has since done better with Essential though.

  • TONY T09/14/2007

not as sweet as some mentioned. not a girly fragrance at all. masculine and mature without being overbearing.

  • J.RIV08/04/2007

I wore it today expectig it to go away in 3-4 hrs as many people here said. I sprayed some at 6 am. I went throughout my day no problem. I got home around 3 pm and my sister said she could still smell it. About 6pm I had some female company they walk by and instantly almost like werewolves they jumped around asking me what I was wearing. Only thing I'll say is, is that dont wear too much. Make no mistake it has some strength to it. BTW the idiot who said it was musky is a retard. This is a fruity fragrance... with a hint of Vanilla. For some reason my Body Chemistry enhances the vanilla smell though.

  • J.RIV08/03/2007

I just bought this right now, I sprayed it. At first it was real real fruity which kinda surpised me. Then I rubbed it in further and after a few seconds it smelled more like vanilla, which was very pleasant. I love this scent. It is light but lasts. Fellas the broads love it too

  • DEVON06/16/2007

This stuff makes me want gag. It's WAY too sweet. For some bizarre reason I smelled it once in a store and actually liked it. A week later I couldn't stand the stuff anymore. I recently sold it at a garage sale and asked my friend to smell it, and she hated it. Maybe if they toned it waaaay down, it would be wearable.

  • MANDY06/08/2007

My husband uses in the morning and it smells really fresh and nice, but the best part of this scent is the sexiness on him in the evening when it's dried down. Really, really sexy with a touch of rum!! We love it so much that I bought him the deodorant spray as well. Now using both, he became a fanny-magnet; he's too popular when women are around him!! (I tried it on myself, but somehow it smelled not as gorgeous as him, probably this smell reacts with male bodies better...)

  • ROB H.01/16/2007

As far as trying to get close to this scent with better longevity............well definitely skip Ignition being that it's a super-sweet frag. dominated by vanilla. Casran is a spicy-fruity-woody evening sleeper. Give Carlos Santana, Paris Hilton, Sentiment and Magnetism a try. Get back to me whenever you've sampled any of them and let me know what you think. Take care

  • LOS12/27/2006

Need some help with this one! Sampled LPH only once when 1st released and smelled like an average spicy fragrance then threw sample paper away in 15 min. Went to a Christmas dinner and relative wore this and it smelled awesome! The exact fruity smell I've been looking for after so many attempts. Went to sample again to skin and it is sooo short lived! Even on sample paper it only lasted about 3hrs. as to where the new Reaction Thermal is still on paper after 4 days. Earlier posts you mentioned Casran and Ignition(I've smelled neither) as having similarities. Get me as close to this Fruity Heaven as possible with some decent longevity!! Apprec!!

  • DAVE12/10/2006

when you wear this you get really different opinions. some people love it and others think it smells like you havent showered in a while

  • RAI09/06/2006

Spicy and very very fruity scent could be great if only it could actually last more than an hour which a few have mentioned already.

  • ARMYGUY08/18/2006

I bought this cologne in Texas, where soon after you put on a cologne you forget that you're wearing it, and this one actually stuck with me. I've had many compliments from women on this one. It was a toss up between this and Chrome by Azzaro and I bought the Lacoste, my buddy bought the Chrome, I didn't hear any compliments going his way when we went out.

  • MAHRAN AMONA08/16/2006

For me, it's the best fragrance ever made, except for the fact that it doesn't last... i was really disappointed.

  • MIKE08/13/2006

i havent really tried this cologne im considering buying it. does it last long? is it synthetic smelling like dunhill desire or is it a more natural smell like kenneth cole reaction? are there any colognes you can compare this to?

  • ONG-BAK06/28/2006

Attractive and warm spicy, woody and very fruity aroma turns the ladies' heads in a highly positive manner but I just wish this love potion could last a bit longer!

  • DEVIN DAVIS05/31/2006

My top ten in no particular order: LACOSTE POURHOMME RALPH LAUREN ROMANCE SILVER CRISTOBAL HUGO BY HUGO BOSS DUNHILL DESIRE CALVIN KLEIN ESCAPE CURVE BURBERRY LONDON ACQUA DI GIO

  • TONY T05/04/2006

great fresh clean scent, sorry but good.can't compare to ADG or geir but still a good cheap scent. question though, i have a sampler in a clear bottle with lacoste inred. it says pour homme but i'm thinking it maybe red or style in play.

  • AQUARIUS4.703/24/2006

Spicy and awfully fruity cologne seems fairly youthful but could still suit guys in their late 30s. This could be great but doesn't last more than an hour.

  • HISGIRL02/12/2006

Got this cologne for my sweetheart for V-Day. Had to give it to him early since he'll be out of town that day. He sprayed some on right then, and I just about attacked him! Smelled even better on him, than when I was testing it in the store. Very sensual fragrance... can't go wrong with this one.

  • RX-802/04/2006

VERY fruity scent with some good hints of spice make this warm aroma most appropriate for the mid 30s and under bracket.

  • RN02/03/2006

There are too different colognes. This is Lacoste pour Homme, and the other one you mentioned is Essential, which came out a few months ago. Essential is a bit more citrus oriented than this.

  • JASON BOURNE01/22/2006

I've heard somebody mentioned that there is a Lacoste Essential. Wonder if it is the same fragrance as the one here - one and the same. Or maybe it's a different one altogether but I've never seen it. Can someone solve this identity crisis?

  • TROY12/19/2005

I bought this when it first came out. I sampled it in the store, then went back the next day and got it. It smells good if you don't apply it too heavily. A very relaxing and soft fragrance.

  • F.MICHAEL12/07/2005

3 similar colognes IMHO would be in order Kenneth Cole "Reaction"; Estee Lauder "Intuition"; & Givenchy "Pour Homme" in the dark red bottle. Test those 3 out & good luck!

  • LEBRON12/05/2005

Hi, I have recently purchased this cologne since I really like the smell on me, but I want to try something different for certain days, I am wondering if there are any colognes that smell similar to this, any help is appreciated thanks!

  • LEBRON12/05/2005

Hi, I have recently purchased this cologne since I really like the smell on me, but I want to try something different for certain days, I am wondering if there are any colognes that smell similar to this, any help is appreciated thanks!

  • DAX12/03/2005

This fragrance is sweet and as some say overpowering, and that's what i like about it since it is important that others can actually smell it as well.

  • ERMAC11/22/2005

Awesome combo of fruits and spices balance out to a sensual aroma that's not too youthful and women of all ages compiment me on it.

  • HAROLD11/12/2005

Seems just a BIT youthful but overall it's a wonderfully bold and fruity fragrance with just the right amount of spice.

  • P.T. STOCTOROCTON11/03/2005

Starts out very bold and spicy and then in a few minutes, lets up to dry down to the luscious fruits. Very exceptional of its kind.

  • WES CLEMENS10/30/2005

Picked up a big bottle of this fruit juice and the first time wearing it, my girl French kissed me.

  • MIKE10/11/2005

good cologne if you want to smell like a French whore!

  • GRAMMATON CLERIC10/06/2005

Masculinely bold, sensually spicy and refreshingly fruity.

  • STEVE YOUNG10/02/2005

Regardless if it doesn't last long at all, this sensuous and somewhat spicy fruit cocktail's fragrance overshadows its longevity. It's that good!!

  • THUMPER09/02/2005

Tried it on at a store and 6 hours later went bowling with a few ladies and got compliments a definate winner.

  • GILBERTO 08/05/2005

Is fabulous, in all sensitive you are thinking. Very sweet and fresh as the orange fruite smell. Hey guys buy this one!!, to trap any women what ever you want!!

  • SYNERGY08/04/2005

Somewhat youthful but rather outstanding as far as fruity fragrances go. Has a nice spicy kick to it but I just wish it would last a bit longer.

  • RN07/12/2005

That it is too soft and not very noticeable. I'd give a 4.5 stars. Love the plum note.

  • MARCO TESTAVERDE07/01/2005

Fruity fresh with a hint of spice and endless compliments from the ladies. Just wish it would last a little longer.

  • M.R.06/25/2005

This is a nice warm and "Fruity" scent that the ladies have complimented me on a lot. This is not sweet like Ignition or Rochas Man but in fact strictly fruity with a little spice to it. Just wish the smell would stay a little longer on me.

  • F.MICHAEL05/30/2005

A sophisticated scent; mixture of citrus & spice to start out with. As it settles a warm scent of vanilla appears...Women of all ages ask what I'm wearing & appear very receptive for an answer; guys this 1 is a winner ;)

  • TOM02/27/2005

This cologne will make the girl's head swing & turn when you pass by! Very sophisticated and a sexy fragrance that charms and attracts the women.

  • GQ02/15/2005

lacoste is a classic, it's up there with the best. D&G, john varvatos, versace blue jeans and j. paul gaultier

  • CHERI01/30/2005

My current boyfriend became my boyfriend because of this scent . I love it ! It is a fresh clean scent that fills the room when ever he is around. It leaves me thinking of him all day long.

  • BRENT JARVIS01/05/2005

i read the girl getter comment and it really really worked. thanx mike for that comment. i go to parties all the time and tell my co workers. kee kee kee kee...... man this smells really good kee kee kee kee

  • NICK12/27/2004

I just purchased the pour homme not too long ago. It smells very nice, not too overpowering. I used to use paco rabanne, ultraviolet man, and figured I'd give this a try. I made a good decision, but I would buy ultraviolet again if I could find it.

  • KING CHOOFER12/24/2004

This is one of the best fragrances out there, up there with the best of them like Joop and Aqua di gio, its brilliant, easily one of the best 3 male fragrances made

  • CB12/16/2004

I like the smell of this one, it has a definite vanilla scent to it. It is important that a cologne be versatile, and this one definitely is.

  • KENT11/27/2004

I like the fact that it is a unique smell to it. Some say there is an issue with how long it lasts, I don't really know since I just got it. But the smell is unique and very pleasing. Not to fruity, like some of the others (candies, curves etc.)

  • CEFIRO11/22/2004

I bought this on a trip to the local department store without ever hearing of this cologne. It smells wonderful and my girlfriend really enjoys it. It is a pretty sophisticated scent that is not overpowering. It has a slightly sweet and fruity scent, but not over the top like some Italian colognes get. It is my current favorite.

  • SOMEGUY2511/21/2004

What an amazing scent, the perfect blend of sweetness and freshness. Only problem it doesn't last longer than about 3-4 hours on me.

  • COLOGNE GUY10/29/2004

this smells something between Boss Bottled and Allure by Chanel, it smells like both, not original at all, but it smells good i think.

  • MIKE10/13/2004

this is the best cologne. my lady friend bought it for me, and all the girls are always over me when i wear this. pimp status.

  • AMY08/20/2004

This is one of my favorite on my man!!! It is YUMMY!!!

  • W.B.07/02/2004

YES. THAT SOUNDS WHAT I WOULD DO ON A REGULAR BASIS AS FAR AS BRINGING COLOGNES WITH ME AND RE-UPPING(SPRITZING) ON THEM GOES. THANKS ALOT ROB H. AS FAR AS ME BEING A COLOGNE MASTER GOES, THAT MAKES THE TWO OF US.

  • ROB H.06/26/2004

The scent is great and in a way reminds me of Casran which I know you liked. As far as the longevity, it seems to be in the average range. But then again I usually spray kind of a lot on if the cologne I use at the time doesn't last or depending on where I am (ex.: work-in my locker), I bring the bottle with to spray more when the scent dies out. My collection mostly consists of 1.6oz. to 4.5oz. bottle sizes not miniature to 1oz. sizes so I know that with the number of different colognes I have that it will take me a long time to completely use each of them up unless they go bad on me. Does that answer your question, Oh Great Cologne Master?

  • DAVE06/25/2004

Not bad, but a bit to sweet, and some strange notes. Reminds me of Allure (Chanel)

  • W.B.06/24/2004

IT HAS AN AWESOME SMELL, HOWEVER, THE SCENT IS PRETTY SHORT-LIVED UNLESS YOU USE IT WITH EITHER THE SHOWEL GEL OR AFTER SHAVE. IT IS SUCH A SHAME THAT THE BEST-SMELLING COLOGNES DON'T LAST NEARLY AS LONG AS THE AVERAGE OR BELOW AVERAGE SCENTS?(SIGH) DOES ANYONE FEEL ME ON THIS? IF SO, PLEASE REPLY BACK. THANKS.

  • ROB H.05/29/2004

Quite fruity and somewhat sweet but also has some spice to give it a more masculine flavor which will distinguish it from Ignition which is very sweet and one of my favorites. Price I paid for the 3.4oz. was reasonable.

  • ALAN05/27/2004

My friend who works at a fragrance counter told me Lacoste pour homme and the Boss Bottled are the two new, hot cologne. I was at the store the other day and was looking at some Armani ones when the lady told me to tried Lacoste. Smeel very nice on paper. I got a sample of it and will try it out and see what reactions I get. I bought Mania.

  • MIKEY05/21/2004

It is a fresh, sweet fragrence and i highly reccomend it!!!!

  • KING CHOOFER05/18/2004

Possibly one of the best smelling fragrences ive ever owned, smells absolutely fantastic. DOES NOT LAST, this fragrance does not last more than 2 hours on my skin, to the point that i cannot even smell it at all after 2 hours - wow which is a shame, because it smells brilliant! did i mention it smells really really good?

  • JOEJOE05/15/2004

Its perty good, Its almost a bit too sweet but it lies inbetween, its not the best, but its up there.

  • BORIS05/14/2004

The first time that I tried this cologne was probly almost 6 months ago n I been trying to buy ever since, but its hard to find. I can still remember the scent like it was yesterday n that was almost a half a year ago. Great cologne but very rare to find.

  • JEG05/13/2004

Real nice fragrance, did you check the other lacoste fragrance. "Style in play" in a red bottle nice scent, just in time for summer in NYC

  • MELISSA05/07/2004

My boyfriend wears this cologne and it is awesome. I love it. He smells so good!

  • MERCEDES04/08/2004

I love the smell of this scent. It's very seducing and masculine. It makes me want to be next to my man all day.

  • BRAD MEDLING04/04/2004

This, in my opinion, is not a smooth fragrance. Their is too much trying to happen as if the differents elements do not compliment one another.

  • JONO03/20/2004

I love the scent of this cologne. It's a very masculin scent that isnt too strong. the only problem I find with this cologne is that the scent doesnt last that long. Other than that. It hs a very unique smell.

  • JONO03/18/2004

excellent fragrance, not too strong, not too weak. Not very citricy so it doesnt smell like a kid would wear it. Very mature smell. Excellent day-time cologne.

  • SHAMY02/08/2004

this is a fresh, sweet cologne, it is light and lasts for 3-4 hours max. one of my "sweet cologne" collection in addition to(very sexy for him2, Pi,Flanel and sander)

  • DIDO01/07/2004

i just bought it and i liked very much

  • KRISTY12/28/2003

this is the best on the market right now. my ex wears it and i have to control myself! men,you should try this one soon!

  • MICHAELA11/24/2003

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM I must say - this is my favourite male's fragrance. Sensuous, seductive, I just can't keep my hands off my boyfriend with this one. What a turn on!

  • CHRIS G11/14/2003

I personally don't like it too overpowering(but when dried down for an hour or so isn't so bad), too sweet too musky, too awkward smelling(in my opinion) BUT it dosen't stink. so...there's a plus I definetly wouldn't recommend this perfume but if u try it and like it...spray on veeeery little. You'll give people seizures if you splash this stuff on.

  • MARC-OLIVIER11/10/2003

I like it, but I'd be willing to switch to something a little bit more exotic or unique and understated or subtle. It's better than 60% of the Spring/Daytime colognes, but when the body temperature increases it tries a little too hard to attract attention. Also, at times it gets soapy!! Ralph Lauren, Polo, Bvlgari, Cartier, or Halston makes a better casual daytime cologne.

  • JAQUES09/23/2003

Lacoste has become popular again. The cologne is sweet and my girlfriend says it is so sexy. Definitely a lady getter cologne.

  • MARIO CHAVEZ08/24/2003

This is a very distinct cologne. It has a sweet scent that is very appealing. Several of my girlfriends like it a whole lot. It is sweet but not as sweet as "Joop," but it is sweeter than "Pour Un Homme" by Caron. I like Lacoste better than Pour Un Homme. However, I will not stop using "Pour Un Homme" by Caron. I still use it for casual occassions, and "Lacoste" for a nigths out.

  • THE BIG R08/23/2003

This is a very good scent. I think it's smoother and fresher than Allure, which is sometimes a bit too strong smelling. Lacoste is more refined and subtle.

  • EDWARD06/08/2003

That's true, but, in my opinion, better. All of the things people like about Allure in a product which is milder and easier to wear. Lacoste is excellent.

  • JEAN05/26/2003

i like it but wife says its too sweet

  • ARNOLD R.05/20/2003

I liked this fragrance much better the first time I wore it when it was called "Allure." There is a suspiciously strong resemblance here to Allure homme (Chanel 1999). Accidental, I'm sure. [Rolls eyes] Lacoste is not as elegant, not as refined, not as sexy and powdery-sweet as Allure (and certainly not as long-lasting), but it has enough obvious similarities, to come across as a kind of cheaper impostor of Chanel's terrific fragrance. Needless to say, however, it's distinctly inferior. It's like, I've never understood the purpose of musical groups doing covers of songs by the Beatles. What's the point of that? They're never going to sound as good as the original, so why bother? Hearing the cover/remake only makes me want to go listen to the original. Same concept here with Lacoste. I put it on, I smell it -- then I immediately want to wash it off, and reach for some Allure. If Allure didn't exist, I might give this an "Average," maybe an "Average Plus" (nahhhh). But I gotta say, hey! Next time try coming up with something original.

  • M.MANG05/19/2003

Fresh, clean very elegant and brings you a lot of attention

  • TONY BOLOGNA05/18/2003

Yes, lacoste pour homme has some vanilla in it, but only a tinge so it's just right. It's also nice and clean smelling and not too heavy or thick. It's definitely a great summer cologne.

  • ROB D.05/09/2003

Good for day or night. Strong but not overpowering. If you like vanilla tinged scents, check this one out.

  • MAURICIO05/09/2003

Really nice: its clean light and sensual. I think is similar to Boss #6 (Boss is sweeter than Lacoste ). Boot are a really good option.

  • CHRISTOPHER05/05/2003

If a color, this scent would be a special kind of yellow. It has something from a delicious cake, mixed with the feeling of a warm sunny day spent in a friendly, calm environment. Excellent fragrance!
