yep, your right bc. they changed the formula. im glad i still got my bottles from the 70's. they killed a great cologne,the old story, make it cheaper,raise the price

When my husband was wearing this scent in the 1980's, I loved it. But something recently has changed. I can hardly stand the new stuff. There is a big difference, and I don't like it. I agree with Scott. However, sometimes I see "Classic Royal Copenhagen" and I've just ordered one. I'm hoping it's the scent I used to love.

I began using Royal Copenhagen when it was first intoduced in 1970. After 39 years I still can't find anything better and I still get compliments on the scent. Face has gotten older, hair has gotten grayer but I still smell the same. Some things never change.

Great mens cologne. Crisp, clean. I've been using this since the early 70's.

I also have used Copenhagen products for some time. My recent order somehow was not the same wonderful fragance as before. My wife spoke about how bad it was. Have they changed the formula to cheapen the product and make more money? I tossed it, no thanks!

I was recently informed by a [cologne expert] that tartaric acid and citric acid are used as preservatives and are probably not the reason for the sour note in this cologne. But I stand by my previous review that there is something off-putting in this most recent formulation of this once great cologne. But I just can't identify the source.

I discovered this charming scent back in the 1980s when I was in college. I recently finished my old bottle from that period and rushed out to purchased a new one. Immediately upon application, I noticed something was wrong. My beautiful cologne now carried a SOUR note that was never there before. When I compared the new bottle to my old bottle from the 1980s, I noticed that the ingredients had been altered. This new formulation now contains tartaric acid and citric acid - which explains the sourness. Vintage Royal Copenhagen is gone and it has been replaced with this foul mess. I'll never understand why companies tamper with perfection. What's next? ....a moustache on the Mona Lisa?

I really enjoy the light, subtle masculine scent of this cologne. It is the perfect accessory for the well-groomed gentleman.

Royal Copenhagen does start to smell bad, if it's old, as alot of colognes do. Be sure (if you CAN be sure) to purchase new stock and "try" to use it up within two years time. I say "try" because it doesn't take much to last a long time. Very Nice Scent !

I recently happily discovered RC, though it goes back to the early 70s. This is a great masculine scent that's not too strong or sweet, and it definitely lasts all day. It is truly a classic and classy scent. Does anyone know where I can find the deodorant in stores (vs the web)?

Can't say that about many things; but Royal Copenhagen is indubitably one of them. The light, powdery, redolence doesn't overwhelm or bludgeon the olfactory senses while lasting the entire day. I've been getting compliments on that scent for over 20 years now.

I've been using RC for close to 25 years and still get those "you smell so good" comments...

The scent perfectly matches my natural body odor. If you are androgenous or identify as a metrosexual(?) then RC is defintely not for you!

I have been using Royal C. on and off for over a year. I only consider scents a success if I get compliments and I do on this one. It is very unique. I mainly smell woods and citrus. It is highly refined. If it works with your skin you will probably enjoy this one.

I've been a wearer of RC for years, no fluff, a man's scent. No plastic smell here.

I received this scent about a year and a half ago as a present, and just tried it for the first time about a week ago... All I can say is it is the worst scent I have encountered to date! Very mossy/midewy... It kind of smells like the mildew scent that builds up in an old basement. Avoid this pedestrian scent like the plague!!!

This scent is a very classic oriential scent, rich in florals, powdery resins, sweet oriental ambers. Its a scent that either works with your chemistry or not.

If you really want to turn people off, wear this cologne.

I, like Tony North from the Atlanta area would like to see the Royal Copenhagen After Shave Balm reappear. I have found it the most satisfying after shave I have ever used. It soothes and relieves razor burn/irritation.

After not being able to find any of this product in Utah stores this month, I was able to order it through FragranceNet.com at a good price.

Don't buy, this stinks!!!
