  • LIZ04/27/2015

Coriandre is a favorite that will bring many compliments and questions as to what the name of the sent you are wearing. It is a fresh, one of a kind sent that is worth wearing for every occasion.

  • JO11/06/2014

    Beautiful scent

  • DAWN LANE04/13/2012

I used to splash this all over when I was using it in the 70s then it suddenly disappeared from the shops and I couldnt find it anyway. I am so delighted to be able to get some again. It is perfect for my asian skin and the smell lasts and lasts and lasts despite daily showers. Its not a scent for a fair skinned person Im afraid as the base is too musky and heavy but I lurve it!

  • OLGA04/09/2012

Everything OK! I recommend shopping at this store :) Coriandre - this is one of the best fragrances in the world!!!

  • OLGA03/04/2012

    I love it!!!

  • DR01/13/2012

Real classic women's chypre, very elegant. I feel beautiful rose and moss. Delight!

  • TOM01/11/2012

A bit heavy on my bride and so more of an evening scent. Needs to 'breath' some before casting judgment. Definitely a walk through rather than a spray on but I really like it after an hour or so.

  • ERKAN DESAT01/03/2012

    completely feminine and strong

  • JANE11/02/2011

This is intensely beautiful and unique. I have been stopped by other women wanting to know what it is. Ethereal and very different to most modern perfumes. It smells expensive and old world and luxurious.

  • ANNETTE10/21/2011

THIS NEEDS TO STAY ON THE SHELVES EVERYWHERE!

  • MARIA10/21/2011

    I LOVE IT!!!

  • NAN09/10/2011

Absolutely delicious scent -- mysterious, light, wears well all day. So much deeper and interesting than any of the newer colognes.

  • DAWN05/04/2011

I used to use this wonderful perfume in the 70s, then it disappeared off the shelves. I am delighted to have found it again. Its the only one that gets strangers on the street, public transport, restaurants, ask me what perfume I am wearing.

  • MONTGOMERY09/22/2010

A co-worker at Bloomingdale's wore this, and I was immediately drawn to it, so had to ask what she was wearing. She was quite lovely and had great carriage. I have given this as a gift to several women friends who have also loved it. It does have a very distinct smell, and like someone else here said, you either like it or you don't. It works for me and haven't found anything else like it.

  • BLONDE TICA06/19/2010

This is definitely "dry", and is greenish, grassy, herbal, spicy. If sprayed on the crotch of your underwear, or jeans, it lasts ALL day. You get a wonderful whiff when you sit down. I love to wear it that way. It is similar to many other things of the market but wins hands down for price. It's a gem, a must-have, a keeper. One I will always have with me.

  • YVONNE02/12/2010

    WONDERFUL AND SENSUAL

  • IRMA02/12/2010

Simply a BEAUTIFUL SCENT!!! Do not ever take off the market.

  • IZZYWOOD03/09/2009

I too have been wearing Coriandre since the 70s. When I first found it, I couldn't believe it because I already was a great fan of the herb itself. And I think that those of us who love it so much are probably in a category similar to those who love cilantro (same plant). Those who like it, love it. Those who don't like it, pretty much hate it. Anyway, I've never found anything that is quite the match for this elixir.

  • ANNINA MCCARTHY01/08/2009

Everytime I have worn scent-toilet water- or given same a s agift the raves have been great. Please do not remove from market.to me fragrance is clean and timeless.

  • DONNA06/25/2008

This is so similar to Maroc, which is not to be found anywhere. I'm so happy that I found this scent, it's wonderful.

  • CAROL02/12/2008

I can't find my Coriandre! I have loved it and used it since it came out in the 70's. I am looking for the perfume, bath oil, and body creme - not the lotion. Anyone know where to find these products?

  • BEV JANKE01/30/2008

I bought this over the net within the past year-I still had some so9 I didn't start using this 'til today-only to discover that it has all evap- orated sitting on my dresser. What do I do now - I got it from the net and now don't know how to get reimburased. Thank you, Bev

  • CARINA10/20/2007

I am glad you also thought this smells very similar to Eau du Soir ($220). I also gave my bottle away. my husband was allergic to green smell. I want to add that this perfume also smells very similar to Agent Provocateur which I own but dont wear often (too Strong). Coriandre is lighter version of AP imo. ;-)

  • VICKI10/14/2007

I've been wearing this perfume since 1984.I can no longer find it in major stores. The perfume that i've been buying on line is in the original bottle, but the scent is not right.I miss this perfume !! Has anyone found the real thing?

  • SYLVIE09/27/2007

Yes Carina, I agree. Both fragrances belong to the same perfume-category "Chypre". Coriandre was first, Eau du Soir by Sisley comes later on the market. I gave my Eau du Soir away, because the staying power was not that good... - Ciao Sylvie.

  • CARINA09/13/2007

I did not apply to skin but did smell on paper tester. this smells exactly like eau du soir by Sisley which retails for $220. Green, crisp, clean not animalic or musky.

  • EVELYNE03/28/2007

I bought this perfume in the 1973's, more exactly "Parfum de toilette", stopped it during few years and now I'm looking for it every where. It was "Parfum de toilette" 100 ml. Help me to find it again.

  • NATALIE02/04/2007

WHERE OR WHERE DO I GET THE LARGER BOTTLE?? NO ONE STOCKS IT ANYMORE? I THINK ITS 3.0 OZ SPRAY..HELP

  • MARA02/02/2007

I went into the store tonight just to see what fragrances they had. I bought Coriandre simply to see what it smelled like. I got it home tonight and tried it on and WOW. What a beautiful fragrance! I have been looking for a truly different fragrance for quite some time. Every time I have tried something new, it has been so floral and sweet. I prefer this type of clean, not the current crop of citrusy, sweet copycat fragrances. I also love Jolie Madam. I would recommend that one to anyone on this site who loves Coriandre.

  • MELOSINE12/11/2006

I wear only Coriandre's eau de toilette for more than 12 years now.It can be worn any time of day, I LOVE it. Wish I could find the dusting powder...

  • TEDDYSGIRL12/08/2006

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THEY STILL MAKE THE DUSTING POWDER?

  • DRODWELLALLLEN11/08/2006

Hi I just love this line of parfumes I really like the body lotion and can not find it anywhere does anyone know if this company has gone out of business? thanks

  • ARTGIRL40010/23/2006

I first found this perfume in the 1970's and I will not wear anything else. So glad to find it again..I had run out of it. Everytime I wear it people stop me and ask what fragrance I am wearing.

  • GREEKGIRL08/15/2006

Hi there, well sounds like im gonna luv this one if it smells like Paloma, which i have and luv, ill have to check out Aramis sounds interesting (ive never tried a mans frag before, but theres always a first time) Animale is not available here, and M ive tried Agent Prov and like it as it reminds me of Paloma so im going out now to try and track down Coriandre, thanks ladies, bye for now, Helen.

  • M08/13/2006

Agent Provocateur imo. At first both smell a bit as a plastic map (but in a good way). AP is more flowerish (roses), Coriandre has more green in it.

  • SYLVIE08/08/2006

Hi Greekgirl-Helen, thanks for your nice message :-). You asked me a very difficult question!! Taste is so different! The most chypre-fragrances are meanwhile discontinued or hard to find, because they are no mainstream fragrances and therefore no bestsellers... Coriandre is sharp and very long-lasting. I think Paloma Picasso smells similar but more subtle and soft. Genny (discontinued/black packaging), Gucci 3 (discontinued) and Animale classic for women by Animale come close to breathtaking Coriandre. Please try Aramis 900 for men: This is a great and strong chypre fragrance which I can recommend as an unisex scent. I like Aramis 900 very much since over 25 years. Happy sniffing!! Best wishes, Sylvie.

  • GREEKGIRL06/27/2006

Hi Silvie, of all the perfumes you mentioned, which is more similar in your opinion to Coriandre, I have some of them, as i love chypres, but need a comparison, by the way i luv your posts, you really are very helpful, I like the way you describe fragrances and compare them to others, keep up the good work, thanks, bye for now Helen.

  • DEB02/17/2006

Bought my first bottle in Tenerife - loved it ever since. My favourite ever was Ritz but when YSL took over the comany they got rid.

  • SYLVIE02/11/2006

Queen mother of all chypres, except Coty's legendary "Chypre". Breathtaking aromatic-green-grassy. Not for everybody! Very special, crisp and herbal. Not a typical feminine fragrance, but refined, sophisticated and unique. Maybe not suitable for carefree, young girls/women. More for the lady 40++++. "Coriandre by Jean Couturier for Women. Year Introduced: 1973. Scent Type: Chypre - Woody - Floral. Top Notes: Coriander, aldehydes, orange blossom, angelica. Heart Notes: Rose, geranium, lily, jasmine, orris. Base Notes: Sandalwood, vetiver, musk, oakmoss, patchouli. "A classic French fragrance from Jean Couturier, Coriandre is an enchanting chypre blend of rich rosy florals, warm woods, and sultry spices. A feminine scent of understated chic. Literally translated, Coriandre refers to a highly fragrant, sweet, and slightly peppery herb of the parsley family, in Latin, coriandrum sativum. Presented in malachite green cartons with gold-colored accents." Similar fragrances are: Aromatics Elixir, Halston, Paloma Picasso, Gucci No.3, Animale, Genny, La Perla, Rose Cardin, and L'Arte di Gucci. For chypre lover Coriandre is a must try!! Don't think it's not an excellent fragrance, because you can find it for an inexpensive price. It's a masterpiece.

  • GRETCHEN01/21/2006

I too feel like there is something missing with this scent. It certainly isn't unpleasant- I have to be in a certain mood to wear it. It's like an unfinished song- leaves you wanting more...depth.

  • LOLA10/07/2005

For the longest, the guy who became my husband didn't know I was wearing Coriandre---he thought I just smelled that way! {g} I found it at Neiman Marcus in the 70's. Hard to locate, but wonderfully unique---it was love at first sniff!

  • APRIL08/04/2005

I tried Coriandre the other day after reading all of the rave reviews. It is very distinctive, doesn't smell like every other sweet sickening potion that has flodded the market. But it is definitely not fresh, green and herbal like so many of the descriptions of it said. I was disappointed, I'm searching for anything herbal (I hate girly flowers and powder -- used to use Guerlain's Vetiver, LOVED IT but I can't get it in my city anymore) and Coriandre was not at all. Very thick, heavy, spicy and musky. Glad I gave it a shot though!

  • M05/12/2005

As with Diva I give this one five stars +! Diva and Coriandre have much in comman but Diva has more flowers and C is more dry, clean and fresh from the citrus tone natural in the coriandre spice. Good staying power. My mother who is very delicate with perfumes (wears Diorissimo since the late 50´s, can also stand Miss Dior, Remember me and L´eau de Issey) tried this and first she thought it was heavy. More than 24 hours later back in her home she sniffed on her pullover and at first she wondered what a wonderful scent she felt and than remembered: Coriandre!

  • DIMA01/25/2005

Perfect daytime scent for those fond of woodsy, exotic fragrances, unique, refreshing and lasting. Back in the early 70's, I spent the better part of an hour tracking down the little old lady wearing it in a grocery store, a bottle has been on my shelf of favorites ever since.

  • WILLOWGURL01/12/2005

I ACCIDENTLY FOUND THIS FRAGRANCE. IT IS CLOSE TO AROMATICS, BUT MORE SENSUAL. IF YOU LIKE AROMATICS, BUT NOT THE COST, THIS WOULD BE A GREAT MATCH. I'M BUYING ANOTHER BOTTLE BECAUSE I WANT IT TO BE THERE IN CASE I RUN OUT.

  • SHARRIE12/28/2004

i am not fond of this . i feel dry and lost and dry. a disappointment. missing in my heart. sad.

  • ANNE LOUISE12/10/2004

After reading the reviews here I asked a friend to bring me back a bottle from America. I spritzed it on once and had to put the bottle away for good. I can't describe the smell, but it reminded me alcohol or maybe certain liquor, dead grass left out a few days, and some other things I couldn't place. Reading the reviews here again I am pretty convinced I got a bad bottle. A friend suggested I use it as an air freshener or spray it in my closet but I really don't think I could be in a room, or wear clothes, that smelled this way. I generally like most fragrances, except for heavy floral scents, so I don't think the perfume itself is to blame.

  • KAREN09/27/2004

One of my favourites -i've only recently tried it and it is distinct -except perhaps it reminds me of a perfume I wore as a teenager called chique? It's been so long maybe I'm completly wrong! I like it a lot.

  • ILAUNA MARCUS09/23/2004

I agree with many of the exceptional comments. Coriander is a wonderful Especially the lotion. In fact, my boyfriend took my lotion and put it in his car for his use and to maintain the scent in his car. iIwish all of the products were easier to find

  • ILAUNA MARCUS09/23/2004

I also have been wearing it since the the early since the beginning and still love the fragrance. It's become my signature. It's also becoming harder to find. Please don't disappear!

  • CC06/18/2004

maybe "a/e" has the chamomile thing going and and is a bit stronger and amberier but they're definitely in the same family.

  • LINDA-NELL06/16/2004

This didn't really impress me at first, but after trying on about 10 other perfumes I bought it. Although Angel is still my favorite, this is my favorite office fragrance.

  • MAH06/15/2004

I first discovered Coriandre as a child (while looking at my mother's perfumes), and I've loved it ever since. It's an exciting, unique, herb-y scent, very fresh and clean. But it's not like all of those new "clean" scents out there now (some of which I happen to like, but you have to admit, many of them are so similar). Coriandre's fresh, but in a different way. Yummy. Try it! You won't smell like everyone else!

  • JULIA02/11/2004

I have been using this perfume since the beginning, and I like it because its unique. Unfortunately, it is has been difficult to get hold of before the internet arrived! I also like the real perfume better than the eau de perfume, but I can't seem to find it. Overall excellent!

  • LLL01/05/2004

This is a unique, fresh, herbal-smelling fragrance. I agree that a sheer spray of it is enough--you want to keep it light. It's got a nice sharp tone to it that I just love.

  • CK09/02/2003

Bought this fragrance back in the late seventies. It was more potent then and last all day! My mom even started to wear my perfume. It use to come in a large cylinder like aluminum can shaped container, that now is the color of the marble- like box. It was truly ahead of its time! Wonderful!

  • JOYCIE05/29/2003

At first I liked it, but as time wore on I thought it was not so great. It's not bad, but there's many other scents much nicer like Michelle, Paris, etc.

  • JOYCIE05/28/2003

It's nice but not my favorite. I think I prefer Byzance EDP.

  • JOY05/28/2003

I just received a mini Coriandre, and tried it. It's lovely; I just hope it's not too light like some others [Paris EDT, looking for the EDP]

  • CHINAMAY02/15/2003

Coriandre IS devine. It is best if used spairingly, I agree. And I use if I put on a perfume that is too sweet and Coriandre mellows it right out. Great stuff.

  • JOSEPHINE09/02/2002

I recently returned to wearing perfumes after a 15 year hiatus brought about by allergic reaction to the 80's wave of crass, commercial toxins being marketed under mass designer names. Starting again with Coriandre helped me get over my perfume phobia. Now when I can't decide what I feel like wearing, or even if I ought to wear anything, I fall back on Coriandre. A light misting of it imparts a clean but tangy feeling of refreshment (applying too much, however, quickly cheapens the intended lighthearted effect and blunts its unique qualities, bringing it down several pegs toward the common).

  • PATRICIA07/03/2002

Coriandre is wonderful and it would be nice if all products were readily available. I mix it with another scent on occasion and when I do, someone always wants to know what perfume I'm wearing.

  • CHERYL M.01/28/2002

I too have been using this a while - I guess about 15 years. I have tried to find something else I like as much but never have. I'm glad (hardly) anyone else knows about it! The body lotion is the best - it is the most delicious smell ever.

  • LAURA G.01/27/2002

Yes, I agree with Suzanne's comment of 3/01. I've been wearing Coriandre since 1978, and have the same experience- it is both soothing and exciting, and pleasing on many levels. I also receive comments from people on what a lovely fragrance it is. And I too wish it were more easily available.

  • SUZANNE A.03/09/2001

I"ve been wearing it since its very beginning in 1973, and still, most days when I have it on, someone will give me a great comment on how good it smell. It's uplifting, boosts my humour whenever I have clients to meet or when going out on a romantic evening with my husband. Strong and sensual, suave. Just try it! Too bad all the elements of this product's series are so hard to find.
