I RECALL AVON HAVING A FRAGRANCE CALLED RAPTURE YEARS AGO.

it smells like a older person no offense please.

this one is really good. It last forever on me. I can't smell it on me, but others can.

This is an aquired taste. It is well worth the money if you like a sweet musky dry down that hangs on forever. Love this one. I can smell it on my clothes after I've washed them! Very inexpensive and the gift sets are nice around the holidays.

I just can't believe how many compliments I receive on this perfume. I have some of the body lotion and a small spray from a purchase last year. I decided I had better use it after a long reprieve. I am simply amazed at how many people are asking me about it and telling me how wonderful it smells.

This is a scent I did not think I'd like, but, I love it and I always get compliments when I wear it. You only need a little and the scent goes a long way. I give it 5 stars. I love perfume and this one will always be a part of my collection of scents.

It is a strong perfume for a strong woman. That is how I feel. If you like soft fragrances, then this perfume is not for you. Wear this to feel sexy, strong and confident anytime and for anything.

This girl I use to work with wore this scent every day, and I couldn't stand it. Something my grandma might wear.. perhaps, White Diamonds.. YUCK! I love VS frangrances, *sweet* but this one is just not for me.

A gorgeous 22 year old young woman in my church wears this as her signature fragrance. It smells heavenly on her and not too mature in the least. I observe guys asking her all the time what her perfume is. My 24 year old daughter in law wears this as well. I think this fragrance is one that a woman of any age could wear well. It is beautiful!

I personally don't care for Rapture, but some men absolutely love it, while other say it smells too "strong". It's a fragrance with lots of personality, so people will either love or hate it, I think.

I work in fragrances and represent about 75 different ones at a retail store. Rapture is amazing... very yummy and totally sensual with notes of amber and lightly floral. I spritz it on and get double-takes. Every day at work, people (men and women alike) turn around and follow me just to ask what I'm wearing. It's classy & beautiful; everyone I have showed it to has loved it *on me!*. That may be the trump card on this one with all the negativity about this being trashy and cheap. It's in my top 3 fragrances and trust me I know what I'm talking about. I'm never without a bottle.

I think what you "naysayers" are forgetting is that scent interacts differently on everyone. What smells yummy on one person, can stink on another. Be an individual!

...this is one of those funky scents that people either love or hate. I'm in the latter category, but I know certain men find this irresistible...go figure.

It's an interesting floral/amber fragrance-not unlike Hypnotic Poison (although I think Rapture is much sharper & stronger on most ladies) or Versace's Crystal Noir-which I like, but my sinuses don't unfortunately-Crystal is too sweet & the gardenia flower note is virtually suffocated by the excess amber. Its easy to spot the flowery notes in Rapture-especially the orange blossom, which happens to be in my top 5 floral scents. I like the fact that as the amber dries down, the perfume turns much softer, even slightly powdery (the good kind-NOT like johnson & johnson LOL!) This is a fragrance that CANNOI be judged from the initial spray-it takes time to settle & change on the skin. If you are patient enough to get past the first impression-which is on the LOUD side- (if your sinuses permit you) & you have the right skin PH, this fragrance can be a wonderful addition to your fall/winter fragrance wardrobe or an excellent evening/formal scent as it has nice staying power. A lot of bang for your buck! Oh & FYI, the purse size (.75 oz size) is much nicer looking than the full sized bottle.

The bottle is atrocious in appearance, but that is trumped by the odious concoction within it. I love the name, so I tried it at a Victoria's Secret, and immediately thought there was absolutely NO WAY I would be caught dead with such a funky scent on MY body. Rapture is loud, obnoxious, and downright rude.

I mean it in the best way possible. If you are a very forward, sexually aggressive woman then this is your perfume for sure. If you're used to making the first move in a romantic situation this will suit you. It screams SEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually you probably won't have to make the first move after you wear this one. Look out!!!!!!!!! It attracts men like nectar does bees. Its also perfectly suited for colder climates or the winter season, as the ultra warmth of amber stands out as the top note in this. If you love warm fragrances & are sick of vanilla-laced perfumes & don't like overly spicy ones either this may be perfect for you. It is the epitome of seduction.

I found this on my cousin's bathroom vanity when I went to visit her...I sprayed some on and loved it immediately...the next night I had an evening bath and put some of the lotion on before bed and loved it just as much...a very sexy, feminine, confident yet soft...great scent for a va va voom woman

Victoria Secret must know what a man wants. Maybe some of the "inferior" perfume companies will take notes. What a sophisticated blend! This scent is sweet, aromatic, and sexy. Probably not for everybody, but definitely pleasing to the aggregate.

I USED TO LOVE THIS SCENT, BUT NOW FIND IT TOO STRONG, AND AFTER A WHILE IT GETS TOO MUSKY. HOWEVER, THE LOTION ISN'T AS OVERPOWERING, AND DOES NOT TURN MUSKY ON ME, SO GIVE IT A TRY IF YOU LIKE THE INITIAL SCENT OF THE PERFUME, BUT HATE THE WAY IT SETTLES.

When I first smelled this scent I literally dry heaved. I am not exercising hyperbole, either. It was quite embarassing. However, my coworker smells wonderful and I recently learned that she uses it. She's much older than myself, however. I'm eighteen and could never wear such a mature fragrance. I'm glad Victoria's Secret is finally making something an older generation can appreciate. The bottle is hideous, though. It reminds me of drug store perfume from the 70's.

Rapture smells dignified. I personally would not wear it, I feel it is a scent better worn by Mature Women, but still a good fragrance.

I'd heard so much about Rapture, and I do like the other VS scents for the most part, so I tried it. I think it's kind of dusty/musty smelling and too heavy on the patchouli/musk. I don't like it a bit.

I have worn Rapture for 10 years or longer now. I can not even stand to wear anything else. Men AND women stop me and tell me I smell so good all the time. I've had men stop me with their wives to ask what I am wearing so that they can buy it for their wife. It lasts all day long! My husband is a Marine and whenever I go to his work the Marines always know when I'm coming. They tell me they can smell how wonderful I smell when I pull up, haha! I've been told its the best smelling thing around by anyone that smells it on me.

to the fragrance junky there is nothing musky about rapture at least not to me I have worn this fragrance for a couple of years now and get many compliments maybe your skin chemistry just doesn't agree with this perfume. It has orange blossoms and amber perfect combination to me. Its funny how we all have different taste and different body chemistrys. Don't knock a perfume because your body chemistry does't agree with it because there a plenty of other rapture lovers out there

The intial impression of Rapture is incredible, but soon after the musk takes over and doesn't let go. This is the only scent I ever wore that WOULD NOT wash out of my clothing! It stunk up my closet something awful! Why on Earth they kept Rapture and discontinued Victoria is beyond me!

It was my favorite with its little gold sparkles. I always wore it to Phish Concerts!

I purchased this because one of my close friends really liked it. Well, she now has another bottle, because I sent this one to her. In my opinion, is to strong and smells like an older women's perfume.

Perfume is not one size fits all, one person's trash is another's treasure, that being said, I first encountered this fabulous scent being used as a hand cream by a cashier at my local grocery store and inquired as to what it was? Long story short...it smells as great on me and my husband absolutely loves it on me too! *sly wink*

Try Red Door, it is also a sexy scent. But like rapture it can overpower if you get too much, so just a little goes a long way. I would also try Beautiful, which is a bit lighter than Rapture or Red Door, but still a long lasting evening scent(but I wear it day or night myself).

many yrs ago, i had a bottle of lotion. god it was too strong and animal like. i guess cheap parfum can make ppl hungry and disgusted. i'm not very crazy about this one at all. i'd not use again. there are tons others that are fresher and less offensive

I was given a bottle of Rapture as a gift in high school - I wore it for about two years & always got compliments. It is a warm spicy scent that grabs you & holds on ALL day! My husband is in the Army & likes me to send him scented things like pillows & panties. Rapture was the first thing that came to my mind when I was thinking "what will stay yummy smelling for a long period of time?" So I bought a bottle a few weeks ago & have gotten so many compliments since then - I will continue to wear it. Oh, also - I prefer to only wear it in winter as it is a fairly heavy scent.

I have never encountered a single person (male or female) who hasn't liked the warm and sexy scent of Rapture. It's always brought compliments pouring in and not a whiff of unpleasantness.

I have been wearing Rapture for approximately 2 - 2 1/2 years and I love it just as much as the first time I smelled it. This scent is perfect for everyday, a night on the town, or even just to be seductive for your mate. I love this scent.

I loved this body splash, lotion, etc. by Victoria's Secret about 3 years ago in the summer. WHO knows what perfume is out there that has this scent so I CAN BUY IT??

The Raputre smell so make me sexy! I always buy is Body Lotions than Fragrance, because Body Lotions more smell soo good.. more sexy.. i always purchase the body lotion of Rapture at Victoria Secret stores!

I wear other scents for a change of mood now and then, but I always come back to Rapture. I love it!

I am 19 years of age and I do not consider myself old - I absolutely love rapture and wear it quite often. On the contrary I think that "Pink" is made like all the new fragrances out there that are targeted towards younger teens - and that does not make it very distinct or special

I have alot of trouble with allergies and this perfume does not make me sneeze, unlike alot of perfumes. I love it!!

This is the only fragrance that I've ever worn where total strangers approach me(almost daily) and ask me what I'm wearing and where they can buy it. It smells great on me and it lasts a long time! I can put it on at six in the morning and you can still smell it at four in the afternoon.

Rapture smells like old lady perfume. If you're an older lady, that's fine, but if you're younger like me, I would have to recommend PINK from VS.

Ok, I have to admit that I always made fun of VS perfumes. I thought they should sick to underwear and leave the perfume to experts. BUT I sprayed it on and WOW. Used wisely it is very enchanting and sexy. Great for dressing up.

I wore this at one time and liked it, but now as I have gotten older and wiser, I have moved on to better scents. This one seems so cheap and overpowering. Strong cinnamon smell-it smells like someone who's trying too hard to get attention/be sexy. Just my opinion-use as small a dose as possible. This one might be good/ okay in tiny amounts, but in regular amounts-too obvious and strong.

The first thing I noticed about this perfume before I had even smelled it (which it smells great)was the bottle. It is sooo pretty. It has to be the prettiest one I had ever see.

Based on what I've read on this site about all those 'hot mama' fragrances, I got to the conclusion my male friends must have come from another planet. They hate sweet/cinnamon/vanilla and other oriental smells, and love the softer florals. As for Rapture, I really like it. In fact, it ranks among my top choices. It's drop-dead sexy with its flowery and cinnamon-like notes and I feel very confident in it. I wouldn't wear it on a first date unless I was sure the guy likes it, because it has a lot of personality (read: could be quite invasive).

I have to agree on this one. Although I like Rapture, I certainly don't love it and think there are a million much nicer perfumes out there-however, men go absolutely insane over this one, and women seem to love it as well. I have some left in a bottle that I got a while ago, and since I don't want to waste it, I do wear it occasionally. And when I do, the compliments come right and left, much more so than with some of my favorite fragrances. So I guess this would be a great first-date "hook a man" scent-even if you don't like it, I can guarantee they will! Go figure, indeed!

My husband loves it, so that's what matters :) Love the way it smells on a girlfriend of mine but the trouble is I don't care for it yet people ask me what I'm wearing and love it! Go figure.
