This is a wonderful all day scent. My husband used to wear Calvin Klein eternity but everyone smelled like that. This one is a true classic winner!

  • SYLVIA J05/23/2011

This stuff is oh so sexy on my man and amazingly it's been flying under the radar for years but that's ok cuz I'd rather not smell it on every other guy out there like AdG, Curve, Cool Water, Eternity, etc. Spicy, sweet and yummy!!

This almost had the makings of a masterpiece. The initial spray is one of my favorite scents of all time. The scent actually gets stronger once it dries down. My only problem is at that point, the scent gets too potent and develops an incense-like quality thats a little too strong for my tastes. I would have no problem buying this if the potent part was the first spray and it dried down to the initial scent that I prefer. This is definitely an original scent that last a long time so I recommend trying this to anyone who can find it...

First crack at a fragrance from this designer is a warm and spicy lavender-woody evening aroma that lasts a good while and has a unique bottle design.

  • ONG-BAK03/21/2006

Rather sensual sweet and spicy lavender fragrance works well with my chemistry and is a pretty big hit in the evenings for the ladies.

  • MARCO TESTAVERDE12/13/2005

Rather elegant spicy/sweet and woody fragrance reminds me a little of Oxygene by Lanvin and Axis by Sense of Space except I like this scent a little better and it lasts longer than those two.

myself for giving this 4 when it is an obvious 5. whimsical amd magical stuff here.sander hit it big (well maybe not) since no one has heard of this aromatic, fougere delight.waiting on dunhill fresh, burberry brit and 1 other cologne to come in the mail. i like this and it is definatley going to be 1 of my next 10 purchases, along with cavalli man, escada, design and jacomo.

I was looking for something unique as a signature scent besides to alternate between Drakkar Noir from time to time. This perfume is IT. Not many people know about it and maybe that's for the good. If clothes make the man then this cologne transforms him to a SAINT. I could only imagine the suave Simon Templar wearing it. If Drakkar's a SINNER then this is the SAINT. This cologne definitely will give women the impression that you are NO ordinary man - that you have good taste and you look out for higher things in life. I can only describe the scent as mystical probably because of the smell of myrrh and incense that linger for several hours. That's right it's longlasting. I sprayed once and it lasted right through the night. But be warned: it's an acquired taste. When I first tried it didn't impress me but after a while I realise it sets you apart from the rest of what's out there - in a good way of course! Some say it smells a little like burning wood after the flowery smell but they don't mean in a negative sense because that's when the nice incense flavour kick in. This is one of the true designer's perfume with ingenious use of myrrh. I hear it's hard to find. In Singapore you can only find it at one place but I'm not going to tell you as I intend to let it be one of the best kept secrets... Drakkar and Jil Sander should be permanent items in a real man's inventory.

  • TONY T10/14/2005

decent fragrance just not a wow scent. more spicy than sweet but i won't go and get a bottle. i like it even with that said.3.7 stars

  • JULIAN C. STRATUSON08/07/2005

Great woody-spicy-sweet scent from Jil that smells awfully similar to Axis by Sense of Space but this one has the better staying power. I'd wear either particularly being that both aren't commonly worn by every other guy out there.

  • NIKITA 02/22/2005

I've experimented with many types of smells and Jil Sander could possibly be the best smell for me. It's clean/young yet has something high class and old school about it. LIke everytime I put it on I feel like I'm on A New YOrk fashion runway. Nobody knows about JIL. BUt her new cologne PURE for men is going to put her on the map. IVe been looking for it but its not out yet. Just the one for women is. CAN somebody give me info on the mens version. I just wish SANDer would last long. It goes away too quick.

  • PEPE LEPEW01/04/2005

light. Strange scent. Smells like Escada Sport. Not for me.

  • PINOMEX06/13/2004

That is exactly what women say when they smell it. All the other guys that have heard the comments now want me to tell them what it is called and where to get it. NEVER! Now GIVENCHY has came out with a clone called BLUE. Similar at first spray but verry far off on the dry down. SANDER is still the one.

  • ROB H.06/01/2004

This spicy but sweet drydown is worth owning in your collections. I personally like it a lot along with the bottle design. I know you guys probably have tried and own a crapload of colognes and this stuff would probably be towards the middle or bottom of the ones you like the best. The longevity is probably average to above average and it attracts basically the same type of attention from females as does any of my other colognes do. Try it for kicks.

  • BRAD MEDLING05/10/2004

Jill Sander is wonderful on the beginning. I reate this only 2 stars because I do not like the myrh and incense in the drydown. The dry down is too warm and spicy which does not match the cool and refreshing mint in the begining. Had the mint lasted throught the scent, it would have been a winner.

  • SHAMY02/08/2004

this is a sweet, light and long lasting smell, I got good comments from women. try it, you will like it for sure

  • ROBERT D.02/07/2004

It reminds me of a spa. Has brazillian mint top notes which makes it so distinctive. It only lingers for a short time before reapplication is needed. IT would be one of my faviorites, if it would only last the night out :(.

  • AARON B.03/24/2003

    One Word Plain....not anything great.

  • LIBRA 9-2703/09/2003

This fragrance is unique. clean but not wussy clean like so many other fragrances. it starts of fresh and finishes fresh but with a twist... it actually has depth. Jil sanders fragrances are very hard to come by and that because she is truly top notch.

  • SABBY11/15/2002

The first moment I smelt it , I went weak at the knees, the fragrance lasts, Thats one of the reasons I snogged that guy and Im still with him 2 years later. Go on fellas its a right turn on .BELIEVE ME

  • B. CLINTON10/26/2002

I think that this is one excellent, quality, classy cologne. Obviously, it's not the favorite of the olfactory challenged however :)

  • KEVIN10/18/2002

I find this scnet very unoriginal. It tires me.

  • JAMES09/24/2002

First time I wore this to work I could have filed sexual harrassment charges on two women. Boobs in the back and butt squeezed.

  • STEVE08/10/2002

sorry marco-- the box you described is 'feeling man' (called 'man' in europe)... very very hard to find... good luck :)

  • SEAN08/07/2002

This fragrance is very good. it smells so fresh and woodsy. I would recommend this to any one.

  • RICK THE PRICK05/11/2002

Love it. Get it you'll see.

  • MARCO02/27/2002

I would like to know if new purfume for man that it is possible to buy now in Italy is the same wonderful purfume of about five yers ago; the purfume in the red and black box. thanks for attention

  • BARBARA GRINSTEAD02/20/2002

Inquiry - do you carry the Sander for Men Shaving Balm? If so how can I order it and if not, where can I order it. Thank You

  • DOUG02/05/2002

Similar to Joop but milder, not in your face or overpowering.

  • HAPPY CANADIAN10/11/2001

Nice Redwood basenote to Sander. Long lasting. HERE'S WHAT OTHER REVIEWERS HAVE SAID: WHAT IT IS: An aromatic fragrance with hints of Brazilian mint, cashmere wood, and myrrh. WHAT WE THOUGHT: E.R.: The bottle looks like an inkwell. This is very similar to Fahrenheit, but not as sweet. It's outdoorsy and casual, like green fields. Laura: What a great bottle design. Different without being too clunky. Two good smells that never miss -- citrus and vanilla -- need I say more? Peter: If you can't get laid wearing this you're dead. Shawn: This is the finest men's cologne I've smelled in a LONG while. L2: The man who wears this is guaranteed a boot-knockin' evening with me. Leigh: Yes. Not too strong, very versatile. I'm taking this home with me! Shawn: No, you're not! MEN'S SCORE: 9.7 WOMEN'S SCORE: 8.7 AVERAGE SCORE: 9.2

  • STEVE W01/09/2001

I bought a 2.5 oz bottle about 3 months ago and LOVE it... i get many many compliments on this fragrance every time i wear it.. it is woody, but NOT too spicy. very nice!

  • SHONDA12/20/2000

I am always looking for a wonderful frangrance for my man. This one is wonderful. I always like the ones that not everyone one wears. This one ranks up there with Versace for men, the original one. I originally picked up Sander for men while traveling out of the country. It seems I can only find it on the web or at Sephora in the states. Try it.
