A fairly decent effort from RL that won't exactly inspire one to climb Everest, but will certainly suit casual and relaxed daytime social outings or relaxed business meetings. Top notes are quite sharp and may remind some of insect repellant initially but after 20 mins the lovely - and not overly strong - Australian Sandalwood emerges to calm things down and that's the way things remain for the next 8+ hours. Very good sillage and longevity on my skin but if your skin is dry, try unscented moisturizer as a base or simply spray on clothing. Slightly above average quality: 3.5 stars.

I love the freshness of this cologne, unfortunately, it doesn't last on my skin. Great to wear in warm weather.
My other two posts did'nt make it. I get whifs of original polo, blue, blk, and dbl blk, all in this one fragrance. I like it, try it, see if you notice somewhat all 4 in one.I'm tired of the unisex type fragrances coming out, especially the ones that don't warn you up front. P.E. is taking it back to when men's cologne were for men.
In one, hints of original Polo, Polo blk, dbl black, and blue. Nice fragrance, and a change from all the feminine smelling men's cologne coming out now. (1rst post did'nt make it)
black, dbl black, blue, and original polo, all in one. this reminds me of each of these, but done in a good way, really like it. this is like getting rid of the old, and bringing in the new!
Great fragance, very aromatic, manly, versatile.. a nice combo between fruity-spicy and a fresh woody base longevity more than ok !
A very nice scent but seems to lose all its interesting notes very quickly. There's a point where something like patchouli is just coming through in the base notes but then it vanishes. If sustained, that would have been great coming after the oranges. It really seems so weak to me that I wonder if I picked up a fake, as I got it in the Middle East.
I first smelled this as a sample in a magazine and I liked it. I wasn't sure about it though because it was a sample and often times smell different. I looked at the reviews about it and the ones I saw saw rated Explorer as average to below average. I went to Macy's and smelled it for myself and I liked it I bought a bottle. It's fairly strong at first but it settles nicely and has great staying power. The first time I wore it A lady complimented me. Long story short don't pay too much attention to these reviews if you like something go with it.

Does not live up to the advertising hype, in my opinion. Flat and boring, nothing exciting about it. The "Blacks" are much better.
The initial spray might remind you of something similar to ferrari black, but the middle and end notes make up for it, woodsy yes, not fruity smelling like black, would agree with polo lite, but it's a solid addition to any cologne arsenal, women love the way it smells, give it more time and you will see
it does smell simular to this lacoste cologne however unlike ralph lauren's other colognes this cologne has excellent lasting power,6 hours plus.
after the great polo black this explorer is just below average smellin thing, continue with black and wait for something new in the market
was my first impression of this. i will sample later and give my official rating. now it would be 2 stars but i will do further sampling.
Have only sampled this a couple times, but it strikes me as just a lighter version of the original polo. Definitely an improvement over its original pine tree ancestry....though I've never been much of a fan of the greens. I do like the bottle though quite a bit... maybe RL's best bottle design yet!
This is a good scent, I am wearing it today, just bought it last evening. Good staying power, which I like. I would say it would be a daytime cologne, office wear acceptable.
