If you want a really lovely violette cologne try Violettes de Toulouse made in France. Pricey but worth it.

I have been wearing this scent for almost 20 years--I constantly get complements and many times get asked the name of the scent by men and women.

This perfume & the original both smell lovely on me.I've been wearing mostly the original for about 20 years.Yeap, you heard me right. At the time you could only get it at Nordstroms & Needless MarkUp (Neimans). The large spray was $65.Now it's over $200.The small spray was $25 or $30, now it's over$100.The sale people would give me bottles of the little perfume for free. Not anymore. My point is that my mom has always loved the way it smells on me, but when she tries it on herself, it smelt like crap.I guess it depends on your body's chemistry. I know it smells good on me because I've been constantly getting complements for 20 years. It just depends on the person.

Hi! I'm assuming you've tried Violetta de Parma by Borsori. This, at least to me, is the most accurate rendition of a violet in its natural state. If you have, then I guess your search will continue. I wish you luck & happiness regardless.

To me, Quelques Violettes smells like Quelques Fleurs with a shimmer of violets tucked into the bouquet. Actually, it's more like a garland than a bouquet. This is very pretty and easy to wear. I get none of the soapiness the previous reviewer mentioned, nor does it remind me a bit of Violette Precieuse by Caron. Caron's VP is a dark violet with a lot of green before it sweetens. Quelques Violettes is much lighter and shimmery. I prefer the original Quelques Fleurs, but QV is a nice alternative, all the same.

To Perfume Emporium: Please replace my last message on Quelques Violettes with this corrected one: ----------------------------------- Soapy and unpleasant on me. No violets, just the soap. But not as awful as Violette Precieuse by Caron, which smells more like rotting vegetation. I have yet to find a scent that in any way resembles my beloved violets.

Soapy and unpleasant on me. No violets, just the soap. But not as awful as Violette Precieuse by Bvlgari, which smells more like rotting vegetation. I have yet to find a scent that in any way resembles my beloved violets.

I am a violet lover & this one stands alone. A fresh twist on the classic QQF with a subtle shimmer. You will adore it!

  • ELLA01/06/2004

On me, Quelques Violettes is a long lasting, very sparkling, bright, sweet violet - powdery, soft and nestled in a delicate floral bouquet. Contrast this to my HG, Caron's Violette Precieuse - a deliciously dark, very very dry violet, with ethereal hints of greenery. Same flower, totally different presentation. I adore them both. If you are a violet lover like me, or someone who is drawn to sweet powdery florals - give Quelques Violettes a test drive. (Based on individual body chemisty. Your mileage may vary.)

Delicate, feminine, pleasant; reminds one of original Quelques Fleurs but with a definite violet edge. A dainty floral- think "lace, tea parties under the canopy, a lawn on a warm, spring day with a bright border of flowers."
