  • KERRY11/22/2016

It is very nice and it is certainly nice on me, but of course it is not quite like the original but I would still buy this as I do like how everyone comments about it...

  • JOY K.05/01/2015

My favorite scent. Chantilly has been around for years and remains my favorite. It is lite and pleasant that causes those around me to ask what I'm wearing. It always evokes compliments. I just love it!

  • GAYE09/20/2014

The smell takes me back to a time when I first started dating many, many years ago and takes me back to some very beautiful memories.

  • JACQUI BRISTOW09/18/2013

I have been using this perfume for over 30 years and still everyone remarks on it. I would recommend this perfume.

  • JENNY06/29/2013

I love chantilly, it was my very first perfume, my mum bought it for me over forty five years ago. I wear it everyday.

  • PATRICIA01/15/2013

This was a gift for my Mom. She has been using Chantilly for over 60 years and will not change to any other Perfume.

  • SARA01/27/2012

Chantilly is my mum's favourite perfume, when the bottle is empty she asks my sister and I to get her another gift of this perfume!

  • JACKIE DAVIS10/18/2011

The best fragrance I have bought - everyone comments on it

  • SARAH08/11/2011

Always loved Chantilly...everything about this fragrance is totally "me". When I spray it on it puts me in a different place and time...notes of sandalwood moss and orange blossom are so uplifting to my senses and smells so beautiful; brings me back to my early teenage years when the world was a kinder; gentler place. I just love it. Even though it was originally made by "Houbigant", in my opinion, Dana did an amazing job matching the original scent. Have been out of this for a while, so I just bought a big 3.5 oz. bottle of eau de Toilette spray...ahhhh...Heaven in a bottle...such a lovely fragrance!! Bottle looks beautiful on my dresser, too. Glad to know this website carries it. Won't be without my Chantilly anymore...oh so Heavenly!!

  • Where can I find this? It was my absolute favorite. Now that Dana took over, Chantilly's fragrance is not the same. I have been looking for the parfum oil by Houbigant a long time. PLEASE

  • WANDA GRIFFIN08/10/2010

Best product ever made and I can't find anywhere. Help

  • CUPCAKE12/19/2009

I have to laugh...the description says "recommended for evening wear." I think Chantilly is fine day or night! (Of course there is no perfume police to investigate.) I am getting rather nostalgic lately and re-introducing myself to the older classics in fragrances. So many of the newer ones are too complex and irritating to my senses. I find the older scents like this one very pleasant.

  • JANE09/29/2008

I have worn Chantilly for years. It is not the same as it was years ago but still a nice scent . I get tons of compliments when I wear it. I used to have a container of the solid Chantilly and loved it. Cannot find it anymore. It was in pink packaging. I always look for the Chirstmas specials each year.

  • NANAGRAMMS08/03/2008

I have a 4 oz bottle of Chantilly by houbigant. it is a pink bottle and still in a box but i don't know how much is in there. Does anyone know how old a bottle this would be? I looked on e-bay but they don't have any pink bottles of Chantilly. Thanks for any ideas.

  • HELEN06/28/2008

I agree with all the posts that say Chantilly is not what it used to be. Does anyone have a suggestion for a substitute?

  • WENDY KEYS06/27/2008

Does Chantilly still make the solid compact for carrying in your purse? I can't find it anywhere and I'm almost out. Help! I've had this one for years and I absolutely love it.

  • LAURA05/08/2008

I have a bottle of the original Chantilly by Houbigant. I am willing to trade it. Write me at [email protected]

  • ME04/29/2008

I used to wear this back in High School. I picked up a small set of 1.0 oz spray with a small body lotion for 9.99. This did not last at all and I noticed the body lotion is now made in China. I won't be using or buying again.

  • SANDI02/19/2008

I think those of you who think Chantilly is not the same are correct. I bought some recently after not wearing it for years and there is a difference - not as good. That is really too bad. I won't be buying it again.

  • CONSTANCE12/31/2007

This stuff died a long time ago then Dana tried to revive it. Putrid mess they made.

  • NOREEN12/07/2007

So nice to know I am not the only one on the lookout. They stopped making it for a couple of years 7 years ago. Hopefully they will start again. I bought 5 the last time and would buy 15 if i could find it again. Where are the Chantilly people when you need them?

  • GRACIE PFALTZGRAF05/19/2007

I hate this perfume, it is the skankiest most vile scent next to Emerude. Its vile!

  • DEBBIE05/11/2007

I have a bottle of Chantilly by Houbigant that I found at an estate sale and there is no comparison to the Dana version! Even as old as this bottle was, it still smelled exactly as I remembered it, sweet and sexy. Dana has taken a classic and once again, for the sake of saving a few bucks, ruined it.

  • LISA01/08/2007

I love this perfume...I am not an old lady but this is a perfect scent for anyone who is ladylike...think soft sweaters, skirts, nice heels and scarves lightly fragranced with this classy perfume...nice to put on after an evening bath...perfect for warm and cool weather.

  • GALA12/01/2006

This one has changed so much but it is still a good fragrance. I always liked it better than Shalimar. This is another one that brings back good memories.

  • PINK11/16/2006

i remember my mom wearing the body lotion-and i remember it smelling so powdery and yummy- as a thirty year old woman-i walked by the display counter-of a drug store and they had fabulous chantilly kits for christmas-bought a 3 piece set with the powder for such a low price. Smells the way i remember it twenty years ago! love it-i particularly love it after a few hrs -its so subtle and feminine-light and just pretty!

  • SEXY KITTEN10/07/2006

Yes you are right...it did smell alot like shalimar in it's day...coty's emeraude is a takeoff on shalimar as well...however, if you like the scent, buy shalimar instead of chantilly...always better.

  • SEXY KITTEN09/29/2006

this was my first real perfume when I was 14...it was wonderful then..rich, warm and shyly seductive...the boys loved it too...just for old times sake I smelled it again recently and it smells a little harsher and watered down...what a shame.

  • XIME07/19/2006

I had never tried this before and received it today in a parcel. I am very fond of perfumes and I really don´t like them at first sight but this one has something of magic. Maybe imagining the generation of women wearing it with ilusion and passion. I love it

  • GRETCHEN07/16/2006

I have 2 clients I took care of- both wore Chantilly. One had the older version (Houbigant?) The other had the "New Dana" version. What a difference! The older version smelled soft, powdery and floral, with a touch of sweetness. All I could smell of the newer version was a cheap alcohol scent, very bitter- no softness at all to it. Very sad- companies don't seem to care about quality anymore-you'd think they would, too. But then, maybe that's why I'm not a business major!

  • JULIE03/31/2006

I used to really like this when I was twenty. Since then my tastes have changed, but doesn't mean this is bad. I don't care about designer clothes, shoes, handbags, etc. but I am a fragrance snob. I LOVE expensive perfume, and can definitely, in most cases, smell the difference. Since I haven't smelled this fragrance in a lonnnnggg time, I can't rate it now.

  • COMMENTATOR03/29/2006

I am not in favor of this tacky, cheap disgusting scent. Sorry, folks just not for me, personally. In the 80's when I saw a beautiful girl posing for the lacy chantilly ad kind of made me want to go and purchase it and smell like chantilly. Was I in for a surprise. Nice ad, but tacky perfume.

  • SYLVIE02/25/2006

Hi Y, it smells not like Shalimar, but it's similar because Chantilly is also a sweet oriental with an ambery drydown. I adore Shalimar and I like vintage scents!! Chantilly smells really great!! Chantilly = "Old-Ladies-Drugstore-Stuff"??? I have nothing against old ladies: I love and respect them. Well, I let my nose decide what smells good. And Chantilly smells good. Very powdery - very pink - very romantic - very feminine! Unique, oriental fragrance. I can remember an US-ad in the 80ies: A modern, suntanned beauty in a sexy white lace blouse. Angelina Jolie-type of woman. Here a subscription for you: Chantilly by Houbigant / now Dana Parfums for Women. Year Introduced: 1941. Scent Type: Oriental - Ambery. Top Notes: Fruits, lemon, bergamot, neroli. Heart Notes: Jasmine, rose, orange blossom, spices, ylang-ylang, carnation. Base Notes: Indian sandalwood moss, vanilla, musk, leather, tonka bean, benzoin. "Chantilly is a classic French blend of florals, Oriental woods, and spices with a sweet amber finish, created by Paul Parquet for Houbigant. An expansive, feminine fragrance, the Oriental blend excites with a heart of jasmine and rose, smoothed with vanilla, musk, and tonka bean. Chantilly shares its name with the picturesque French town, the pastoral site of championship Thoroughbred horse racing. Perfect for a day at the races with a broad-brimmed hat and dark sunglasses. • Y02/10/2006

is it just me or does anyone else think that this smells exactly like Shalimar? I love them both!!! I am a bit embarassed to wear it sometimes because a lot of people think it's an old lady scent. I know, I know I shouldn't care what other people think...but I don't want to offend the other people I work with>

  • JUDY BALLOU12/30/2005

I am looking for Chantilly in a small pink compact like a gel perfume inside that I used to buy. Is this still available?

  • CATHY12/26/2005

I think Chantilly is a very pretty powdery scent. However, on me it does not last all day. I must spray and then later respray again. This can be wasteful. I think Dana waters it down so consumers buy it more often. Next time I plan to buy Shalimar by Guerlain. If you prefer your cologne to wear off fast then you will love Chantilly by Dana.

  • RACHEL11/27/2005

You're not alone. My mom loves the stuff and can't find it either. Thanks for letting me know we're not alone!

  • KATHY Z.11/04/2005

This is the scent I was wearing when I met my husband 29 years ago. I almost always have a bottle. I don't wear it all the time anymore, but I wouldn't be without it either. A couple years ago, my husband bought me a bottle of Shalimar for Christmas and when I smelled it I was surprised how much it reminded me of Chantilly. I think that's why he bought it--It smelled like me! This is a nice, everyday scent. Very nostalgic for me. Spicy and powdery. I loved it then, I love it now.

  • NICOLE10/24/2005

I am wearing the powder. I love it. Soft, sweet, elegant, not overpowering and the price is very reasonable.

  • GLORIA08/10/2005

My dear neighbour whom I lovingly call Mother bought this for me for Christmas one year. It is sweet and ambery- and the pink lace packaging is too cute!

  • MICHELLE07/31/2005

I had high hopes for this one. I thought that it would smell pretty. It looks pretty. I guess looks can be deceiving. This smells like Old Lady perfume. If you want to smell like you are 90 years old-wear this.

  • NANCY05/25/2005

Come on Dana.......Let's make this wonderful fragrance again! I have been wearing it since I was 16...and I miss it terribly. If you have something this good, why not make it again and again!

  • MARILYN KANE02/14/2005

Mother gave this to me as a gift on my first date when I was 14. I still love this beautiful sweet scent, so feminine, trust me, it drives them (men) wild, the ladylike perfume essence that smells sweet and pretty, with a hint of spice to liven things up!

  • KAMIEL01/30/2005

Where is the product listed above? I have worn Chantilly and no other perfume for 45 years. I also loved the body spray. How can we convince the company to produce our favorites again?

  • LYN DONAHUE01/10/2005

The perfume has changed - not as good. Where has the great body lotion gone? I can't find it anywhere. Lasted all day, and received many compliments on its fresh fragrance. Can anyone help?

  • LAURA D12/23/2004

How dare they change the scent!! I say we uprise and do something so shocking that we leave them wondering. How about..WE DON'T BUY ANYMORE! hmmp let em think about that!

  • DEBI07/29/2004

I am so glad to find these boards and that people feel the same as I do. I started wearing Chantilly in the 80's, and now that I am back to it, it is similar, but not the same. It actually sometimes smells like mold rather than the more spicy and warm scents that I loved so much. I wear it once in a while, but now prefer Shalimar, which is very similar to the original Chantilly. It costs a lot more, but at least it is a scent I can love. Pity it was changed. They should change it back, and be proud of quality, not quantity.

  • SHARON05/14/2004

I have worn Chantilly since I was 18, now I am in my 40's. I have purchased many expensive perfumes over the years, and just because its expensive, doesn't mean it smelly good. Chantilly is my absolute favorite! Now that it is manufactured by a different company, its not the same. I am very disappointed in the quality, and the fragrance has also changed somehow. ITS NOT THE SAME ANYMORE!

  • RAINFAERIE12/02/2003

The 'Dana' company sure knows how to break a lot of consumer hearts, while they make "dime-store perfume" out of our favorite mid-range classics. They've done it to 'Tabu', 'Ambush', and now 'Chantilly', after acquiring it from Houbigant. These scents used to be an amazing value for the buck, and they've been reduced to watered-down, low-quality knock-offs of their original selves - just to keep the price down. I know I'm not alone when I say that I'd much rather shell out a few extra dollars for the genuine article. The quality's just not there anymore. Disappointing...

  • CHRISSY11/24/2003

I loved this fragrance in the 80's too. I think its a classic. But I have moved on..if its still nice on you..go for it. The packaging and price are great. All in all it nice.

  • HEATHER11/17/2003

I've been wearing Chantilly Perfume for 30 years. It's not quite the same as it used to be, but the low notes are still warm and subtle. Much cheaper now though!

  • JO-ANNE11/15/2003

Rainfaerie: It is not just you. I LOVED Chantilly in the 1980's and have continued buying it, however, it is definitely not the same. Wonder if I could find an old bottle some where....

  • RAINFAERIE11/07/2003

I really enjoyed Chantilly in the 80's when it was made by Houbigant. Chantilly by Dana is just not the same. Dana seems to have altered 'something' - or is it just me?

  • MARY K.06/25/2003

I like Chantilly okay, but I really loved Chantilly de Bistro that apparently is no longer available. Where can I find it?? Most people have never heard of it, but when I wore it I got a lot of compliments on it! I still have a little bit left that I ration to myself, only for special occasions!

  • SARAI BROWN03/11/2003

Hi i used your body lotion for years then you change it. I've try to find some from the 70's and 80's . HOW I MISS THAT ALLDAY SMELL ON ME.

  • NICOLE10/15/2002

Reminds me my childhood when I was smelling a sample of Chantilly from a magazine in a winter day when the sun was coming through my bedroom window. Just bought a bottle. It is sweet, subtle, warm. A real classic. Throws me back in those days..

  • DEB MEYER07/29/2002

  • DONNA MALONE05/14/2002

My daughter and I have used Chantilly deodorant for years. However the last two years we have seldom been able to find it. This year the Sears store in River Crossings, Grandville, MI had a very limited supply at Mother's Day. We were only able to purchase one. How or where is it available. This is the only deodorant I am not allergic to. Please help.

  • LIZ02/26/2002

    Egads...this is SWEET!

  • BILLIE BUCKNER02/19/2002

I live in Lubbock Texas and we only have one Sears and it alreadt has gone to a grab bag thing in their Cosmatics Department. I too have used this deordrant for 35 yrs and haven't been ablr to find it for about five years at which time I purchased all three little plastic roll on bottles they had. That happens to be the only deodrant i can use. Whoever Dana is we need your help, and soon please. Thanks. my email is [email protected]

  • MAGGIEMAE02/17/2002

My older sister used to wear Chantilly when she was in high school. I never cared for it so I nicknamed it "Chan-toilet". What a brat I was!!

  • AIMEE12/21/2001

FYI: Many Chantilly products are available at Pic 'n' Sav(deep discount stores here in San Diego.) They seem to have more variety now because of Christmas. Check them out if you have a store in your area. *FYI = for your information.* :)

  • TERESA12/20/2001

I have been looking for the cologne in the round bottle but cant find it. Is the tall bottle the same thing? I dont like the spray.

  • AIMEE12/19/2001

The drydown notes of Chantilly(modern) are coca-cola and musk. :\ JMHO

  • AIMEE12/19/2001

Vintage: minty; fresh; chalky; balsamic; sweet; resinous; ambery; Similar to a Guerlain or Bal a Versailles. Hints in drydown of rubber and marijuana. New: not as dense as vintage; rather than a Guerlain scent or Bal a Versailles, this new scent has more in common with Replique(Raphael).

  • ARLENE12/16/2001

Does Chantilly still make a parfume and where can I find it. All I find now is cologne and eau de toilet, but I want the parfume.

  • PHYLLIS M. EBY12/04/2001

  • TINA WATSON11/30/2001

I have been using Chantilly Hand and Body lotion for I Know close to thirty years, when a bottle cost $3.95 (12 oz.) that now cost 12.95 for maybe 3 ozs. It is now almost impossible to find. Help me to keep using my same product. Please e-mail me at [email protected] as to where I can stock up on this product.

  • TSK10/25/2001

I have found Chantilly cream deodorant at two Sears stores in the Washington, DC, metro area. I have been "stocking up" because I understand that Sears will be doing away with its cosmetics departments in the very near future. Good Luck!

A classic, elegant, lasting scent that is wonderful in moderation.

  • SUSAN08/28/2001

When I think of this fragrance, all I can remember is my grandmom who wore it constantly. It was the only fragrance she wore. Also I remember a co-worker wore it in the 70's and her boyfriend said she smelled like a French whore.

  • PATTIE07/03/2001

you can purchase the oil at Walgreen's or Dillards store at least where I live

  • BJ06/28/2001

By Dana, this has been one of the world's classic fragrances for over 50 years. It is a pleasant, long-lasing scent that has a hit of flowers but is still alluring.
