...my favorite perfume... It was a joy to ... receive comments of people about how wonderful is its fragance...

  • MIKE PRICKETT12/10/2012

    Exactly as it should be

  • MARIGOLD05/07/2011

"Roma" is a unique scent; flowery, lemony, subtle, yet piercing. I have been wearing it on and off for over 20 years and I absolutely love it - plus, I get so many compliments when I wear it! It is becoming quite hard to find now. Please, please, keep making "Roma", and we fans will keep buying it.

  • LISA JOHNSON04/18/2011

I love this perfume, it makes me feel special when i wear it and everyone asks oooh what perfume is that you have on, wonderful please do not stop marketing it plzzzzz x x

Hi Fragrance Junkie, nice to read you. Thanks for your Roma-review. I totally agree with you. Roma was in Germany for many many years a top seller and very popular. Together with oriental SUN by Jil Sander (worth a try too-but it's a linear scent). When ROMA came out, I didn't like it too much. I miss more vanilla and I compared it too much with Shalimar, which was and is still today my special-fragrance-darling. Meanwhile I think ROMA is a masterpiece by Laura Biagiotti! An Italian "Shalimar". A classic. I hope it will stay forever. The bottle-design isn't that great, but the fragrance smells excellent. Happy sniffing and best wishes, Sylvie.

Roma is quite a unique scent. From its minty top notes, to the final earthier base notes, Roma is truly unique. I have never smelled anything like it in my life. The opening notes can be a bit overwhelming at first, but give it five minutes to warm to your skin and the journey will be on its way. The middle floral notes start to shine through and the fragrance takes on a new life. Soon after the base notes emerge and you have quite an olfactory gem in Roma. The drydown is sweetly musky, earthy so to speak. It is a scent that changes dramatically on me from beginning to end, like a good story. And the journey along the way is quite interesting. Thank you Rosaria for introducing me to this incredible, unique scent!

  • ABIGAIL10/03/2006

Roma is my absolute favorite. It is a fresh as a song on an italian breeze, and as timeless as the eternal city. I wear it to class, mass, and I would wear it on my wedding day. Try this one with confidence. It is well made. For me, it fits.

  • KATIE06/17/2006

I absolutely LOVE Roma - from the intial uplifting minty blast, that is so unique, through the soft , flowery middle notes down to the warm, balsamic base. It's a truly unique masterpiece that will have you totally mesmerised.

  • DONNA AUGHENBAUGH02/15/2006

I read where it is being made again by someone but where will it be available.?? I had never tried it but heard good things about it.

  • MATUSHA01/12/2006

This fruity green Oriental perfume is a true cascade of merry emotions, semi-sparkling and sensual. It is a magic perfume and surprising ready with you envoûter. Note head: bergamot, blackcurrant, mint Note heart: jasmine, pink, lily of the valley, eyelet Basic note: balsamo (myrrh-amber-vanilla), musk, chive, beaver, foam of oak, patchouli

  • DEBBIE10/19/2005

  • ANNE10/15/2005

First bought Roma about 10 years ago. I lived in Italy for 3 years, Roma reminds me of everything great about Italy, including the men!

  • ELIZABETH SIMPSON10/11/2005

Day & night I wear it. Roma works with my natural scent;it becomes my own essence.Roma & I become one.We leave everything else in the dust!!!

  • MAYA08/29/2005

Hi there, I know exactly what you mean. Roma is really very strong and yes indeed has given a headache both to me and my sister. Neither one of us really took a liking to this fragrance. Venezia was incredible on the other hand :(

  • SABS08/17/2005

Surprised to see they're still selling this! Everybody is going on about how great Venezia is. Are venezia and roma anything alike? About 15 years ago my relative visited us from Europe and passed her half-used bottle of Roma to my mother because it gave her a headache. Smelling it gave me a headache, and it also gave my mom a headache! (I was too young to wear perfume than anyway) In turn we gave it away. I'm surprised to see that nobody else mentioned this reaction!

  • MAYA08/10/2005

For me there is no comparison whatsoever! I love Venezia and always will... I too have found a place that makes the imitation and it's not too bad, actually pretty close but NOT THE SAME! On the other hand, Roma is too heavy for me and I really don't like it! Why would such an incredible fragrance (Venezia) be discontinued is beyond me and my comprehension!

  • LOUISE03/04/2005

I'm rounding up mathematically because I'd give this fragrance a 4.5 and not the full 5 stars. The opening notes drive me crazy. Bad crazy, not good crazy. On the other hand, the drydown is superb. On my skin and in my nostrils, the opening notes are too redolent of mint that reminds me of freshly crushed basil that makes me think of pesto. And, ladies, pesto is not what I want to think of when I'm wearing a fragrance. But, after I give it a while and Roma's base notes take over, the fragrance is quite wonderful and a pleasant surprise. This ratings system isn't based on halves, but if it were, I'd give Roma a 4.5. And if the opening notes were better, it'd be a full 5 in my book, hands down.

  • NINA01/18/2005

THIS HAS A UNIQUE FRAGRANCE. EVERY TIME I WEAR IT I GET COMPLIMENTS ON HOW GOOD I SMELL

  • NINA 01/18/2005

  • SHARRIE12/21/2004

luxiorous. oriental night. beauty of a rose petal. dark undertones. romantic. wonderful.

  • KAREN S.11/03/2004

Love this scent. It has a lovely nostalgic feel, light yet sensual and very elegant. It might even come to replace my beloved Bal a Versailles.

  • ROBIN10/09/2004

This fragrance is gorgeous. I don't usually like powdery scents but the powder is offset by the oriental notes.

  • PIA08/12/2004

never tried Roma but I love venezia. Alas, it is discontinued but a reproduction is available at longlostperfumes.com. Customers say it is identical to the original and the price is great, may have to order it myself when i run out of my mini. that is all that is left on the many perfume web sites.

  • GLORIA BROWN06/07/2004

This is a light and alluring fragrance. You hardly notice that you're wearing it, but it leaves a soft, kind of sexy trail. It does get you noticed.

  • TAMAR03/29/2004

Wanted to love it so much but I guess the mint did not sit well on me. Smelt a bit like insect spray. But still, something about it had a touch of delicious gorgeousness like baby lotion and sweet fruits. Hope it suits you better than it suited me.

  • HALLE03/26/2004

When I was in Rome last year, there was a distinct fragrance in the air and the people - the minute I smelled ROMA in the shop, I knew that was it. Warm, complex, earthy and floral, sexy -it's a perfect fragrance.

  • MARIA02/17/2004

  • KATARINA12/06/2003

Roma is not bad, but I miss Venezia; it was the best one...

  • ORSI08/06/2003

Many of my friends have been mourning Venezia, too. I discovered that Escada Collection has very similar notes to it, although not the same. But definately worth a try.

  • MURKI06/09/2003

Love this scent, but can't wear it as it reminds me of a bad relationship! Almost forgot about it..Like it better than Venezia.

  • PERNILLA04/22/2003

i just want to say that venezia was one of the best perfumes ,it was so unique and didnt resemble any other fragrance ,dont know why you wont make them anymore...

    Phenominal fragrance!!

  • SHER11/16/2002

Please please bring back Venesia It made so many great memories for me.

  • MARYANN05/01/2002

I miss Venezia so much, I used it for 5 years and just can't imagine why you would discontinue it.

  • SUSIE04/03/2002

I like this one so much and I get so many compliments, that I could not wear another.

  • ASCHATAN03/11/2002

I tried Roma a few times, but I don't know whether I like it or not. Very powerful grapefruit at first, dries down to something powdery and vanilla-ish, one day I love it, the next day I think it's so cheap and vulgar.

  • ANDREA IVANOVIC01/02/2002

My mother have this one parfum and eau the parfum but parfum is better!

  • AIMEE12/20/2001

Citrusy; spicy; men's cologne; softens to musk; subtle; nothing exciting.

  • PHYLLIS12/12/2001

I loved Venezia too. Has it been discontinued?

  • DONNA WILLIAMS10/26/2001

i WISH TO PURCHASE THE PARFUME NOT edt

  • GAIL10/10/2001

A good scent to wear for a dressy occasion. It's along the Shalimar line only alittle more balsom in it.

  • MARIA10/08/2001

Roma is the first parfume I loved and used. Now I have new favorites but I will not forget this parfume and maybe in future I will return to Roma - it is so warm, feminine & sexy!

  • GINA H.10/02/2001

Roma is by far {in my opinion} the most beautiful smell of any perfume that I have worn,or have sampled. If you are a perfume fanatic also try Casmir,Very Valentino and Boucheron. There are too many other's to mention. But having tryed so many perfumes Roma is by far the BEST!!!!

  • KRIS09/25/2001

Does anyone know what happened to Laura Biagiatti's Venezia? It was gorgeous, smelled a bit like pipe tobacco (but still feminine). I miss it so!

  • NINA07/06/2001

this is the most beautiful fragrance i've yet to wear. please tell me where i can find the perfume, not the toilette spray. [email protected].

  • SANDYG07/02/2001

Roma getting harder and harder to find. They use to sell body lotion, powder & showere gel. Why don't you carry them. It's lovely fragrance.

  • H.05/31/2001

Very soft, very pretty, and compliments from everyone!

  • REGINA04/25/2001

Roma is the most beautiful smelling perfume that I have worn yet. If there is another like it let me know!! Really try it.

  • COLLEEN CLEMENS12/18/2000

I am down to the last quarter of my bottle of Roma, and just today I was heartbroken to find out that it is no longer carried in the US. Is the information I heard wrong? Is it possible to still get Roma in the US? Help!

  • KRYS MCKEAN11/19/2000

This is one of the most complex and subtle fragrances I've ever found. Itsdevelopment from application to dry down is a fragile, moment to moment delight, and I was crushed when the department store which carried it in my area told me that it was no longer imported to the U.S.

  • JOHN MORAN11/08/2000

My Sister in England brough me over a 2.5fl.oz of ROMA uomo to the States and all i can say is i have never had so many comments on my collogne.Even my Gay female realtor wants some. Buy this for your man.he will love it as much as you will love him wearing it. Honestly
