This was my favourite fragrance when released in 1970(?).It is woody and great for day time. It is my signature fragrance and evokes great memories.

  • SALLY08/10/2015

This has to be a classic. Fabulous fragrance. Suits all ages. Love it and have worn it for the past 33 years.

  • RITA12/21/2013

My favourite perfume... It's a gorgeous sophisticated light floral perfume, perfect for day or night...

  • TERRY DAWES07/06/2009

Have been told the only place this perfume can be bought is at Harrods in London - where I bought mine!

  • MK12/30/2008

I would like to get bath oil, body lotion, perfume, in this fragrance. Please advise availability. For many years this product has not been imported into the US and sales must have drastically been reduced which probably influenced production of this product. There is no other Givenchy product I will buy. Please consider making and distributing in the United States again.

  • JACKIE DAVIS10/07/2008

At last this perfume has been brought back. Have missed it so much. Individual, understated and such a beautiful perfume. Nothing else matches it.

  • ME08/28/2008

I just love this one! It is a lot like No. 19, but a bit stronger and lasts longer. I also think it is like O de Lancome. I love all the green scents with kick!

  • SUSIE09/04/2007

agree with patricia givency 111 was my all time favourite perfume and I am devastated that I can no longer buy it

  • JBG05/17/2007

I have an unopened bottle of Givenchy III perfume found among my mothers things after she died. Would like to sell.

  • JA04/28/2007

Oh, I have such a hard time finding this classy, regal fragrance. I began wearing it 30 years ago.

  • ROSE HOGG03/15/2007

I can't find this perfume in my state AL, I want it bad ,please make it available inthe states again.

  • ANA E01/06/2006

The best ever. I have used for more than 30 years. It would be a shame if they discountinue it.

  • NEVENA11/16/2005

A great chypre. Easier to wear than Cabochard and a great all year-round day fragrance. A must for every chypre lover. Timeless class and good staying power. My mom's favorite. I'm glad to see it on sale here and will get it as a surprise present for her. Impossible to find in Europe.

  • CK09/24/2005

This is a "working" fragrance! Office, conference, running around taking-care-of business perfume. Very dry and mossy, mature!

  • PATRICIA09/14/2005

This is an incredible fusion of the most wonderful perfume I have ever encountered, it is a crime that I can no loger purchace it.

  • HOWARD05/27/2005

My wife needs Givenchy III. she dreams about it and has been suffering for 2 years when her last bottle ran out. It's just not available in the UK. She asks every perfume shop she can find but it has just vanished. Do you really have Givenchy III available in the US? How can I get some ?

  • DELORES DAVIS05/01/2005

LOVE IT, I HAVE WORN GIVENCHY SINCE IT WAS FIRST INTRIDUCED, LOST TRACT OF IT AFTER MOVING TO WEST COST. I GIVE IT A 10

  • LOUISE03/16/2005

I bought a bottle of this back in the mid-seventies, judged purely by a spray of it's scent in the air with the tester. When I got it home and wore it for the first time, it just didn't smell as nice as it did from the bottle, didn't mix well with my chemistry and I finally gave it to a friend. About a week later, the next time I saw her, I asked what was the name of the new fragrance she was wearing, it smelled so sexy and good. Guess what, it was the Givenchy III I had given her the week before. Wow, on her it smelled completely different!

  • SHARON S.11/13/2004

Givenchy III????? Yes, yes, yes!!! Excellent. Smells clever, posh, refined, and expensive. Reminds me of Cabochard by Grès. Legendary and nostalgic fragrance. For classy, self-confident women in their best years (---50+++!!!). Givenchy III is too dated for the younger generation. If a young woman will choose this fresh-green, smoky-leathery chypre scent for her perfume-wardrobe, she must be an individualist.

  • LIZ08/26/2004

perhaps you were thinking of Gucci II, another chyper fragrance, but more floral than Givenchy III. I think both fragrances are beautiful.

  • KATHLEEN04/04/2004

Absolutely love this fragrance. Do you want to smell fresh, elegant and rich? Wear this. I am down to the last three oe four sprays in the large bottle. Will have to reorder soon! I also love Norrell for the same reason

  • MEG03/22/2004

I loved reading all your comments. This fragrance was at first recommended to me by my cousin, who is French, and how right she was. It's a wonderful light, airy, elegant scent, a good round-the-clock choice from morning to night. It's not overpowering and not particularly long-lasting either, but very pleasant and comfortable to live with, especially for the warm days of spring and summer when you do not want a "strong" scent anyway. I would like it to last a bit longer, but tenacity in a fragrance is not, after all, the only critieria. I appreciate especially the notes of hyacinth and honeysuckle, which are quite rare, and make this a romantic scent, but not too obviously so. A subtle rather than a blunt-statement perfume, with enough cleanliness about it to remind you of a good soap. One more advantage - it's light enough to match with some other perfume, if you like to layer scents.

  • JILL03/08/2004

Here! Here! to Maya and Dec'Grrl. This is a very fine frangrance. It brings back memories of when I first moved to London from the provinces in 1971. It hasn't dated at all-can't wait to wear it again.

  • DECEMBERGRRL07/08/2003

Maya, I love what you said, how you said it, and I agree 100%. Givenchy III is sophisticated, sparkling, feminine, and just delightful. It most certainly does NOT smell like an old lady scent. That's sophistication and self-confidence, not old age. So all those who want to wear Angel, Rush, Chance, Glamourous, BCBG, etc., just go right ahead on. More Givenchy III for the rest of us who appeciate a classic fragrance.

  • LEA04/12/2003

Olatz, there is something so right in your description (Anouk Aimee etc.): it makes me remember the time when Givenchy III was my signature fragrance (early eighties)... This is a very elegant and chic fragrance. I have very nostalgic memories of it! A typical chypre scent - this is a very chic and sophisticated family of fragrances, but not for everyone... you must know how to wear it. For a woman with style. Maya's description is great.

  • JULES02/16/2003

...just came back to look for replies and in the meantime (between this and my last post) I purchased Diva - haven't tried it yet. I thought I was a chypre-type dame, but maybe not? Jules

  • OLATZ02/03/2003

Givenchy III is absolutely the most elegantly sexy, sofisticated fragrance ever created (It makes me feel like Anouk Aimee in "A Man and A Woman). I am addicted to it. Hope they don't stop making it - as they did with "Le De Givenchy". It was impossible to get for years. Then sometime in 1999 they released it again, however, only the EDC - which dissapears in an instant. Does anyone know where I can get Le De Givenchy these days?

  • MAYA01/30/2003

I honestly don't know.I can't stand Charlie,I find it rancid from top to bottom notes. It must be a fluke of chemistry, because usually Givenchy 3 is earthy and dry, with a strong base of woods and mosses.Chypres blends aren't for everyone, though. Perhaps you would do better with a softer scent that's in the same family?Ungaro's Diva is luscious. It is also a chypre, but not as arrid as this one.

  • JULES01/24/2003

I wanted to like this, but on me it smells just like Revlon's "Charlie," which is pretty nasty. I wish I knew what the particular smells are - is it the jasmine (that stinks)? Is it the "fruity"-ness? What do Givenchy III and Charlie have in common that makes them smell alike to me I wonder.

  • MAYA11/04/2002

No,sweetheart,it's not a question of old vs young, fragrance is never about that. It's about personal chemistry.Surely you've heard of that, before?Givenchy 3 is a chypre, and on the right person,it is simply delightful. Chypre blends tend to be earthy, mossy, musky, and can be quite intense. They usually demand a light hand, and when used correctly by the right person, such blends are as wickedly sexy as they are tasteful and understated. And no,the lady who wears a chypre isn't an old crone whose sense of smell no longer works,it is usually a cool, confident and youthful beauty who is well at home in her own skin, knows her worth and has the balls to be herself with no apologies to the likes of you.But please, don't let me stop you. Do go on using the trendy, flash in the pan, slap in the face "fragrances" ,the rest of us are simply happy to free range on the REAL high quality scents out there. Smooch to you, babe, and peace!

  • ANATOLIA11/01/2002

This fragrance does not actually smell *bad*, (like roadkill, for example), it simply smells too generic and mature. It's something that a much older lady might buy, either from a diminished sense of smell, or because she no longer cares about attracting the opposite sex. This perfume is not sexy, original, or attractive in the least!

  • SHERRY08/14/2002

Hi, I also LOVE L'Interdit and was very upset when it disappeared from the store shelves. I found it again at a local mall's perfume bar! Now I see it is available on the net all over the place. I am still looking to replace a bottle of L'Interdit eau de Parfum though, it is stronger and soooo lovely. Sherry

  • KHAN07/29/2002

I searched for this product a lot, everyone whom I asked about this product at me like it never existed. My brother brought it for me once and then I was never able to find it. Its sweet fragrance is what I have missed the most over the years.

  • TARA WEINTRAUB07/18/2002

I am looking for givenchy III PERFUME (discontinued) Any info? [email protected]

  • CHERYL06/27/2002

People always think I'm talking about Fleur L'Interdit, but this is indeed the one that was created for A. Hepburn. Happy shopping! My own review? A little too cool for my tastes, though very elegant.

  • ASCHATAN05/30/2002

My mum used to wear it when she was younger, and she was really sad when it disappeared. Some years ago I managed to get hold of it in Glasgow (House of Frazer) -the best chiristmas present I ever got for her. I am sure you can still get the fragrance in Paris, at the Givenchy headquarter.

  • RONALEE S. SIMS05/03/2002

About 10-15 years ago I used only this product, and was told it is or was the signature fragrance of movie star Audrey Hepburn. It was at all the finer department stores where I live. It came in pump spray and body cream and shower gel. I loved this frangrance and would love to find it again. Please help me find an old friend again.

  • ASCHATAN03/08/2002

My mum used to wear L'Interdit when she was younger. It is really hard to get hold of it now, and I mean in Europe. Is there a follow-up other than Fleur d'Interdit, which smells not a bit like L'Interdit? As for Givenchy III, I like that, but it ist too adult and elegant for me yet. Unusual fragrance, and a bit hard to get, as well.

  • VALERY BILLUPS01/24/2002

I HAVE USED THIS PRODUCT FOR YEARS, AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVEEEEEE IT. I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE NOW EXCEPT THE INTERNET. THIS PERFUME IS AS MUCH A PART OF ME AS THE AIR I BREATHE. A REAL HAVE TO HAVE IN MY LIFE. VALERY

  • DINA12/05/2001

Charlotte, maybe you meant Givenchy's L'Interdit II?

  • VIKI12/03/2001

Givenchy II (two)??? Never heard, Charlotte. I'm from Europe but I've never heard for it. I'd like to help you, but I think you've made a mistake. There's only Givenchy III. And I like it. This is an old perfume, but classy and sophisticated.

  • CHARLOTTE11/26/2001

any help locating Givenchy II would be so much appreciated. I understand it's only sold in Europe. I want it !!!

  • MGARIS09/03/2001

Fabulous, feminine, thoroughly elegant scent. Not exceptionally long lasting, but just reapply; it's worth it! Lovely.

  • ELAINE10/15/2000
