With the essence of success in every drop, Tabarome is a fragrance for men who aspire to be leaders. In the aristocratic British tradition of fine brandy and high quality cigars, this blend is an avant garde take on a classic favorite.

The name Tabarome honors the pinch of finest tobacco aroma that gives this fragrance its English club luxury. Warm ginger and seductive sandalwood are rendered robust with the addition of leather to the masculine mix. Modern and assertive, this woody fresh scent is also enjoyed by women who love the men who swear by it.

Tabarome by Creed is a Aromatic Fougere fragrance for men. Tabarome was launched in 2000. The nose behind this fragrance is Olivier Creed.

Vintage Tabarome (only available as part of the private collection) and the new Tabarome seem to be completely different fragrances to this nose. The new one is a drier tobacco/ginger based scent whereas the vintage Tabarome is a much richer, sweeter smelling fragrance. Both have tobacco, but they are completely different fragrances. I prefer the vintage Tabarome but it is one powerful scent -- not for the shy or faint of heart!

Forget what I said more than 3 yrs. ago; this very bold lemony-tobacco scent is stricly for the 65 and older crowd. 2*s

  • HARRY_TABAROME02/26/2007

This stuff is deadly. I love this sooo much that I have changed my name to it !!

  • STEFAN01/17/2007

Have know doubt... women will ask , "mmmm, Who smells like that?" A true smell of power.

I am curious to buy Creed tabarome but b,cos it has tobacco leaves as in Romance silver i want to know b,cos of its cost. I would be glad to hear from any of the users of Creed tabarome.

  • BIGNUTZ04/15/2006

Very bold & spicy lemony-tobacco scent is definitely not for all tastes and is no babe-magnet................in particular for this 28-year-old.

  • FLYBOY01/24/2006

This is an excellent scent that maintains it rich, sensual character throughout it's dry down. On me it becomes a little sweeter as it progresses. The Vintage Tabarome is a much stronger, intense older sibling of this gem. Both are extremely well crafted, the tobacco is much more dominant in the Vintage version. Consequently, the Vintage version feels a bit dated and could be hard to pull off more most people. This version is more suited to today's market and is one of my top ten fragrances.

This is by far my favourite Creed fragrance. There is not one Creed scent that I don't like, but this one stands out a mile. I know many people rave about GIT, and it is very nice, but doesn't compare to new Tabarome. It is distinctly masculine and sensual, with a wonderful dry down. Reading other reviews, it seems many people consider Vintage Tabarome to be even better than the new one. I'd love to offer my own opinion, yet I'm finding it almost impossible to get hold of VT! Even though I live in Europe (UK), Creed do not sell VT in this country!!! Apparently I'd have to go over to France. Outrageous. If anyone knows of any reliable and trustworthy online shops that sell this, I'd appreciate it if you let me know.

I fnally got two small decants of the vintage (1875) tabarome and the one for sale here--which neither Bogey or Winston ever wore, btw. Anyway, don't think I'll be rebuying either. Thanks to Tony's review about bergamot a bell rang: I couldn't place it but as soon as I smelled it I knew this frag was similar yet couldn't hold a candle to one of my faves, the far more interesting Le Roy Soleil by Salvador Dali. Sure enough LRS has Calibrian Bergamot as one of its ingredients! Now, as to the Vintage Tabarome, it's heavier, more full bodied and has more tobacco. Some may find it musty or old fashioned. It's a 'power scent' which some women really dig, but mostly it's about being the alpha male in the money pack. I've already got Dunhill '34, Versace by Versace, and Eucris-- any of which are more than enough to fire Donald Trump.

  • TONY T11/28/2005

hmm. a light version of dreamer. no then the bergamot jumps out which imo is the best, sexiest ingredient in a cologne. many will say vanilla but hey. anyway a bit average at best but save a lot with dreamer.

  • SPACE PILGRIM11/19/2005

The warm tobacco and tea notes really give this bold and highly masculine fragrance from famed designer Creed some muscle in it's lineup.

  • MARIO JUSTINIANI09/08/2005

Julian's right. just got a whiff of the original, it's Vintage Tabarome (1875) Question is outside the fickleness of e-bay, where do you get it?

  • RN08/25/2005

The first few minutes are somewhat disappointing. then the disappointment disappears. Fury takes over. Especially if you're an anglophile and wanted real bad to LIKE this thing. ;)

  • KINGJON08/24/2005

I dislike this scent. Smells kinda like a cleaner at school. I don't like this... bad ewww.... and for the price, YUCK!

  • JAVELIN08/23/2005

Elegant Creed product which evokes images of London, clear, crisp fall days, beautiful women wearing beautiful dresses, manly men with tophats and canes speaking quietly and confidently to their admiring ladies ...... Simply marvelous. Ah!

  • FRANK_2708/22/2005

Smelled from the bottle Polo blue and tabarome to me seem to share alot of notes. Although tabarome is a wee bit more refined, I still wouldn't pay topdollar for this.

  • MARCO TESTAVERDE08/15/2005

I agree with Bruce on this one. This is a highly masculine, bold and very manly scent for the classy and sophisticated man of refinement. If you think you're too young or not man enough to wear this then stay out of the kitchen.

  • BRUCE08/03/2005

Don't think so. What a TRIP. This is the appex of refinement, masculinity and style. Not something that a lazy, shiftless slacker could ever comprehend..........

  • R.J.08/02/2005

IT'S A VERY CLASSY AND PROFESSIONAL SCENT THAT WOULD WORK WONDERS IN BOARDROOM MEETINGS AND CIGAR PARTIES EVERYWHERE. IT WOULD'VE BEEN PERFECT IF CREED ADDED EITHER CINNAMON OR VANILLA TO THE MIX TO SPICE IT UP WITH SENSUAL APPEAL(SIGH). IN THE MEANTIME, I'LL PASS.

  • W.B.07/28/2005

A VERY OLD FASHIONED SCENT THAT REMINDED ME OF A CROSS BETWEEN MICHAEL KORS AND GIVENCHY GENTLEMAN(WHEN FIRST APPLIED). I CAN'T SEE MANY WOMEN WEARING THIS MUCH LESS APPRECIATING IT ON MEN. BOTTOM OF THE BARREL OF CREED FRAGRANCES.

  • MARIO JUSTINIANI07/02/2005

This one was 'introduced ' in 1999. So if it's not a situation where Creed stopped making it for a while and brought it back out again, then Julian S. must be right, and I'm curious as to the Bogey and Winston 'Old ' Tabarome which he raves about. Is it that much better? Has anyone gotten it? Is it the same as Tabarome Private Collection ? Ah, well, back to this one. Yes, the (new?) Tabarome is a bold choice for Creed. It's damn good (4.5 stars?) though one could argue that Vesace L'Homme or Givenchy Gentleman is more "old school" regardless of when they were manufactured, and I, for one would place the rustic box '34 Dunhill ahead of it. Damn it, as long as i'm nitpicking and pontificating, I'd give Minotaure a higher rating as well even though it's an "Oriental" and Tabarome is--well, hard to describe-- bergamot, green tea, ginger and tobacco. Hmm... Still if you like any of the elegant and unmistakably masculine fragrances ( Tabarome is marketed as Unisex in some sights--no, I'm not kidding ) I just mentioned, chances are you'll also like Tabarome Millesime whether it's a 'timeless classic' , or a newbie '99 Enjoy.

  • STEVEN JANES06/22/2005

You are absolutely wrong. This cologne is totally awful. No wonder Winston Churchill liked it. This cologne is just like him: Boring and Useless. Fellas take my word go for GIT or Erolfa by Creed.

  • KENNETH V. RICHELIEU06/15/2005

One of the more expensive classics out there and definitely not for every man's taste. The tobacco and lemon notes really stand out in this one which probably boots some younger men out of the way and leaves room for mostly men 50 or older to use. Not Creed's best but probably the most bold.

  • VLADAS MAZELIS04/21/2005

Yes, it's wonderful. If you want to smell like a big shot of the 1940's, this will be great. Also, I appreciate the comment which says this fragrance can be used by a woman. Indeed it can, there is something very feminine in it. In fact, it smells a lot like my mother in 1950's and 60's. I don't think she used this perfume but what she used is a lot like this.

  • JULIAN S.04/05/2005

First, Winston Churchill has never smelled this fragrance, and New Tabarome is not a timeless classic. While New Tabarome is an amazing scent, it pales in comparison to Original Tabarome, which was worn by Churchill and Bogart. It’s important not to get the two Tabaromes confused. Second, this could easily be worn by a man or woman. Most non vintage Creeds have a very ambiguous character; the “Creed Accord” that is found in most of their fragrances create a waxy and metallic character that can tame even the most robust Tobacco notes. This could easily be worn by a woman, and a man could easily find this enticing on a woman. If one finds this a little too heady, I’d recommend Creed Green Valley, which is similar, but lighter and better suited for warm weather.

  • CHRISTOBELLE02/17/2005

with the tobacco descriptions, does this smell like gucci pour homme? I quite like that, its very unique. Not a boyish sporty smelling cologne, definitely like pipe tobacco, mature man smell. what do you gentlemen think?

  • DAVE02/03/2005

"out of the 4 scents", eh? Hmm.. the same 4 scents that are reviewed here you just happened to smell? Creed makes DOZENS of fragrances. You are a faker and probably some young kid. Grow up. Tabarome is a timeless classic.

  • PEPE LEPEW01/20/2005

that I had smelt, this was the worst smelling to me. It had a very old fuddy smell. No wonder Winston Churchell liked it. I thought Silver Mountain, Irish Tweed and Himalaya were superior to this scent. JMO. I know many of you liked this scent but I thought it smelt dated. I kept thinking of cigars and a old musty velvet chair when I smelled the scent.

  • ROB H.06/25/2004

Regardless if it's unisex, this is a "MAN's" fragrance which attracts positive attention from "WOMEN" only. Keep that in mind, fellas.

  • DON06/16/2004

Someone once said of Churchill that he was prepared to put up with the best of eveything-this scent proves the truth of that comment.

  • MARINA06/07/2004

Is anything wrong with me? I loved the smell - I got it for myself. It is not overly sweet-feminine, but you can feel such a sensuality in this scent, i think it is too sophisticated to be used only by men...

  • SHAMY03/07/2004

this is a very warm and refreshing scent, you can smell the green tea and tobacco long after you apply. this is a classy and laxurious fragrance

  • JOHN L01/03/2004

This is a very masculine sent that is unlike any others I have worn. I enjoy it a lot and it lasts a long time. I feel its more of a winter than summer scent.

  • JTP12/30/2003

Ultra powerful until it dries. After that has a nice warm smell to it. The ladies can't seem to get enough of it. When it gets long in the tooth it starts to smell a little bit like old man but thats after some time. Nice job.

  • GREG B.11/05/2003

Not my favorite scent by Creed. I'll grant that it is strong, and the Tobacco notes in the base are nice, but I don't really care for the flowery/soapy smelling top notes. On the other hand, a tiny spritz makes an excellent air freshner that doesn't smell like an air freshener scent for my bathroom, so despite the fact that I am not a Tabarome fan, it won't go to waste. If you are buying a first creed scent, I can tell you I prefer Green Irish Tweed by far over this scent.

  • ALEX10/12/2003

One spritz and stand back! I've never had a scent last so long. This is not a romantic scent per se, but it excudes class and power and unrepentant masculinity. Throw in a tweed coat, a vintage Janguar, and afternoon at The Club, and you've got the image this wonderful scent conveys. Get it while you can. It's a vestige from the past.

  • JSP09/21/2003

    Classic. Utterly sophisticated.

  • JOSH08/17/2003

I don't think I've smelled a scent quite like this one!!! Very Original, strong, but not too strong. However it doesn't last as long as I'd like it to. But that's okay, it's just another creed perfection!

  • DAVE08/13/2003

Fantastic! It's a little expensive, but worth it.

  • WILL07/17/2003

I have many tobacco scents, with Tabarome being my favorite. (I have it on right now.) If I had to start my collection over again, this would be my first purchase. I have been most impressed with Creed. Tabarome is well worth the money.

  • ROBERT07/06/2003

This is my favorite scent. I wish that Creed would put into a body wash as well.

  • JENNIFER X12/09/2002

You'll have scratch marks on your chest sporto. I self combust......

  • CORNBREAD BARKER12/04/2002

this brand of cologne is great... almost everywhere i go they want to know the name. it is fantastic

  • ERIC07/30/2002

I just got a killer deal on Creed Tabarome. It has notes of bergamot, ginger, and tobacco from Havana and Virginia. But it is not too heavy. It is rich and sparkling. True to Creed form, one spray will last you until next week. I am sooooooo glad I got this. I have a huge fragrance collection, and this is probably the best one. Originally created for Winston Churchill, and a favorite of Humphery Bogart, it smells and makes you feel like a million dollars. Beautiful scent!
