I have recently bought the EDT and here's what I think: 1. It's the kind of perfume I would wear to work, as it's not very long-lasting and doesn't have a strong smell. 2. It's got a pleasant smell, fresh, floral, quite elegant, with a touch of spicyness to it. The drydown on me is a bit peppery, like subtle masculine fragrances. 3. All in all, a neutral fragrance for me, like I said, best for work, not offensive or disturbing.

  • CASSIE04/03/2008

I have just sampled Premier Jour and my immediate thought was how alike it was the fabulous Max Mara with less of the lemony but more of the fruity. Thoughts anyone?

  • ALLYSA01/11/2008

This fragrance is very soft and airy. If you love bold type of fragrance, this might not be suitable for u. If u ae the beginer of fragrance user, u can add this to your fragrance test list.

i think this is a classic. It's one of the few romantic florals which has got a touch of unique elegance that is mesmerizing. It's a light and soft fragrance, but it lasts very long - and i love long lasting fragrances. It smells expensive and distinctive. But there is something about this that can hold its own among the thousands of other perfumes out there. It's unique. I have over 60 perfumes, mostly classics, yet i know, when this one finishes, i shall go out and buy another. It's elegant and sophisticated and mature, and being a floral, that's really hard to be ! It's perfect to wear to work, if you want to reflect taste, elegance or a feminine spirit. Works for evenings if it's a hot day and you are wearing linen or cotton or silk. It's crisp and invigorating. It's very good for serious work places when you want a soft but not too sugary/sweet fragrance that will last the day. I can tell you what it is not - it's Not girly, sweet, neither does it lack character like many florals do. It's perfectly balanced and strikes the right note without being agressive or flirty. My sister loves chypres, hates florals, but loves this one. It's quite exceptional. Has a lovely dry-down. It makes a perfect gift for someone who has discerning taste and elegance. Even very young girls can wear it occasionally, it adds a dimension to their appearance. Even those who don't usually like florals, try this sparingly, you might be surprised ... Try on some on your skin, you might want to buy it and treasure it ... It's a classic.

I've worn this frangrance since the summer 2006 and I can now safely say that it's ok. Nothing to shout about, however I think it's all in your attitude and what your wearing. Your style does add to this one. On me it was somewhat LOUD. since wearing this one, I've only received 1 compliment....bummer

  • MICH12/11/2006

Excellent fragrance if you want something light and feminine. I love it.

  • RAJUL07/15/2006

my earlier post was dated feb and the weather then was diff ! today in the sweltering heat and humidity (on days when the rains are delayed beyond endurance )this very perfume is among the FEW that i can bear !!! my usual favourites (chypres and orientals) come across as too strong and i cant think of wearing them but..... this one seems lovely for now and the heat intensifies the fragrance so where i found that it disappears.... i find that it is ideal for hot weather and lasts all day too.

  • RAJUL02/13/2006

i am wearing this fragrance today while i type this post...... frankly it is a classy fragrance but as a lot of other posts say......its toooooo mild ! i have on the edp and yet somehow there is minimal impact.i do get a pleasant whiff from time to time but not even the person next to me would get the fragrance of this perfume!i suppose it would require the concentration of pure perfume for this one to make an impact !!

  • SARA01/09/2006

I've tried some other perfumes before & I realy LoVe Premier Jour,it's 1 of the greatest...

  • MAYA12/09/2005

Everything in this fragrance sounds like it would work out to make it a wonderful scent... then you smell it on your skin and... well NOTHING THERE! Some weird kind of dry thing going on that I do not appreciate in the least! I have no idea what is going on... There is Mandarin, Sweet pea in the opening, then there is Gardenia, Orchid which I cannot even smell, and then there is Sandal, Vanilla, Musk which are also non-existent as far as I'm concerned. What is this supposed to smell like? Oh and I do agree with Coco this stuff burns my nose and sinuses.

  • COCOA12/06/2005

The smell is so light, it's like it's not even there, but if you spray more the burning sensation kills my nose (and still no scent!). PJ is also very green and dry which makes it really unattractive to me, once you are finally able to smell something. Somehow like a really bad hairspray you'd smell in the ladies bathroom. A real flop in my books!

  • DESDEKID11/06/2005

I have premier jour SOLEIL, and it's the one fragrance that I can't get tired of. It's the essence of femininity, you smell great, but not like a certain flower, or vanilla, or cookie, or pepper, you just smell indefinibly good. LIke a woman should smell. It's soft, light, pure and classy. I recommend it for day, for young girls in their 20's. If you want a night fragrance to turn heads, this may not be it. But it is a perfume to love forever.

  • MARY ANN06/28/2005

This is one of the few perfumes that doesn't make me nauseous or give me a headache. It's the only one that I've purchased more than once. When I wear it people love it and think I'm wearing something super expensive because it's not one they recognize. It is pure femininity, very sexy.

  • YELEENA05/25/2005

love it!! It has a really soft and lovely scent especially when it dries down (after about half an hour), but i hate it because i need to spray it like 3 or 4 times to get a long lasting smell. I didn't get any effect when I spray it 1 times only! 2 times better but not much different tho... Anyway mine is EDP (thought it would last longet but not really i think!)

  • MARY01/09/2005

Today I wore my Premier Jour again after a long time, and feel that it is a very light perfume. So light that I have to spray 3 times, just to get an effect. Think this is why I dont wear it often, because it does not give me a strong enough effect. This however, can make it ideal for those days when something light and subtle is called for. Actually when I purchased it, I asked the saleslady to show me something soft and very feminine.

  • MARY12/25/2004

Premier Jour is a nice fragrance, but I hardly ever use it. I have many perfumes and decide each morning what I will wear. I dont stick to one perfume. Have noticed that I hardly ever wear my Premier Jour. It smells nice, but doesnt call out to me strongly enough. Dont know why.

  • SHANNON03/17/2004

I tried to like this, used the body cream and all. A few days ago I found an oily patch on my dresser and sniffed it trying to guess what it was. It smelled like coffee and men's fragrance. Then I figured it out, it was Premier Jour. Not as girly as Nina Ricci's other fragrances. Lots of masculine notes are creeping into women's fragrances lately, has anyone else noticed?

  • SUE C03/01/2004

When this perfume was first released I fell in love with it immediately. It's a welcome return to a very classic feminine scent and a change from the watery and slightly chemical-smelling fragrance trend at the moment. Try the body lotion, it is devine and has the wonderful scent of sugared almonds, very creamy and delicious. This would be lovely to wear to a springtime wedding. I love to wear this perfume with beautiful shades of pink.

  • LEAHA02/11/2004

My nanna was given this fragrance by my aunty, but didn't like it so she gave it to me. I'm so glad, coz' i love it it's my favourite perfume! Everyone loves it and my friends always want to borrow.

  • COLEY01/09/2004

smells realy nice. I had a sample but now I am looking for a full size bottle. I know I'll find it. Very sexy but not too much.

  • LUCINDA10/22/2003

I don't know what it is about this fragrance but it is definitely a keeper! I loved it the first time I smelled the insert in the magazine and I placed an order and get compliments every time I wear it. If you love florals I would strongly recommend this fragrance.

  • CELESTE07/26/2003

Was using a tester & after smelling Premier Jour on me, my husband was absolutely in love with the fragrance... So must so that he actually went to get me a new bottle.

  • MILENA07/10/2003

Because it smells just like Naomagic. It is not original. 3 stars for Premier.

  • DORA06/17/2003

    Elegant, classy, feminine!!!!

  • MJC03/10/2003

After Elllen Tracey was such a disappointment for me,I stayed with my old stand-by Bvlgari. Everyone liked that one on me and , but I was ready for something new. I have tons of colognes and perfumes, but I needed something that my students could relate to. So many of them have allergies. But so far all of them tell me I smell really nice when I pass by their desks, or they come up to mine. So I think I will finish up the school year wearing my new signature fragrance.

  • NICE03/04/2003

I like this fragrance very much. Very summery, floral and fresh. However, after wearing it for a few weeks, I feel that I need to change to another fragrance just to go back to it afterwards.

  • SARA12/10/2002

I don't like the green note in it.

  • TIM KOOISTRA11/15/2002

My girlfriend uses this fragrance and i like it very much! We are apart for long times due to my work, but when i smell premier jour.. i'm in heaven :)

  • CRISTINA10/31/2002

This perfume smells wonderful. It is so sensual.

  • TOMMYGIRL_SLIMSHADY10/27/2002

well i think that this perfume smells wonderful.it's so sensual and sexy at the same time that everyone would go crazy about this fragrance. i don't like it's bottle but the fragrance is excellent. good nona you've done e wonderful job creating 'premier jour'

  • XX10/07/2002

New EDT is better than EDP for my taste - it is not so green and it is softer. But I put it in the category like Bvlgari pour Femme - pleasant fragrances but a bit boring, (and not sexy at all).

  • ELENITA04/12/2002

Men seem to have a better nose, he chose it, i love it. Long lasting, floral and fruity and everyone else enjoys its fragrance.

  • LYVIA04/11/2002

Tis is one of the best fragrances ever. Fresh, elegant, very long lasting. Love it. My signiture scent.

  • CARLA04/02/2002

likeable, sheer not-too-oriental, soft, pretty, sweet

  • JENNIFER02/22/2002

Premier Jour is a nice, soft fragrance. But at this price, it is too similar to Sung, by Alfred Sung. Spend less, smell the same.

  • LEAH01/09/2002

Fabulous., the gardenia is delicious, just got my 3rd bottle, it is great- L

  • SONIA10/28/2001

My daughter brought a bottle of Nina Ricci's new Premier Jour home for me this spring after a visit to Paris. I've written the name down for literally dozens of women who have loved the scent - on me!

  • GAIL10/10/2001

Too much Gardenia for my taste.

  • DEB10/03/2001

Very feminine--- Its the best word to describe it!!!

  • VIKI09/30/2001

Nina Ricci-Premier Jour and Nino Cerruti-Image, NINA and NINO, Premier Jour and Image are very much alike, very similar fragrances, almost the same (lounched in almost the same time)!

  • HRBETTYBOOP08/29/2001

A BEAUTIFUL FRAGRANCE. I BOUGHT IT WITHOUT EVEN SMELLING IT ON A RECOMMENDATION. IT IS WONDERFUL. IT IS SLIGHTLY FRUITY WITH SOME WARMTH BUT A LIGHTER SHEER FRAGRANCE THAT SCREAMS CLASSIC FEMININITY. NOT TOO SWEET. DEFINITELY WORTH A TRY.
