Created in 2000, Mahora introduces the frangipani flower at its heart in the first time in the history of perfume, it also combines a green top note with frangipani, tuberose, jasmine, neroli, ylang-ylang as mid notes finishing with sandalwood, vetiver and vanilla. Mahora is a unique interpretation to create a floral fragrance with solar affinity and evokes a distant place, existing only in the imagination, sacred and mysterious. It is recommended for romantic wear.

  • ANNA01/23/2012

Hi love love love this perfume which has been discontinued so will need to make this last

  • ILONA10/08/2011

Hello everyone I wear a perfume close to 10 years. It's her favorite scent, as I have you understand. I live in Israel and I order the perfume from the company for 3 years. I get excellent service and my shipment to Israel is always on time and in good condition. Thank you. That's the first I give opinions

  • HELEN VALLANCE09/24/2009

i ordered mahora ten days ago and have not received it yet could you tell me when i can expect delivery

  • SYLVIE10/11/2008

I'm a huge fan of the older fragrances by Guerlain, but MAHORA was not nice at all. I didn't like the ugly bottle and the fragrance was too linear (tuberose) for the exclusive traditional fragrance house Guerlain. If you like and miss Mahora, you also should try legendary FRACAS by Piguet, Carolina Herrera classic and BLONDE by Versace. BLONDE smells very similar!!! Good hunting and sniffing, Sylvie.

  • BECA04/15/2008

This perfume is not for sissies! Seductive, full-bodied, somewhat Oriental, it evokes images of bare skin, heat, and candlelight. If you want something light, green, or breezy, Mahora is not what you're looking for.

  • MARA10/19/2006

After reading all the comments on this fragrance on this site, I decided to try Mahora. I knew that I would either love it or hate it. I LOVE IT. You just have to give this one time to dry down. I, personally, would put this on one hour before going out. By that time, it is very mellow and soft. This is a wonderful fragrance, in my opinion, but, then, I do not like Angel and those food-based fragrances.

  • BERITANETTE10/02/2006

I can't wear this, it makes me feel sick! It smells nice quality, but be carefull - A little goes long .. Nice bottle!

  • A OZEL11/28/2005

LADIES, THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST SEDUCTIVE FRAGRANCES I EVER SMELT.. REAL PITY THAT GUERLAIN CEASED MENUFACTURING.

  • HAANI11/21/2005

i am so sad its being discontinued so i am buying supplies and storing them well. Definitely one for free spirits, sensual , creamy , reminds me of sultry life in the tropics. Wear it if you dare.

  • LEE ANN10/27/2005

I hate this one... gives me a headache. I can't wait til I use it all up. Ain't gonna buy it again. This is one of the few I am GLAD is discontinued

  • CLAUDIA T.05/21/2005

This one has a terribly sweetness inside but strangely I can enjoy it. I usually like mingle it with Aqua allegoria's Herba Fresca to create a mild tropical feeling, which, no need to say, smell excellent ~ Normally I can get alone with any tuberose scent, for example, Michael Kors, but I can get alone with this one. Agree with Eve, this one smells very evocative.

  • EVE04/15/2005

I've never likes Gardenia scents but love Mahora!! It is sweet but not offensive, magical and evocative of an exotic paradise!!! Distraught that it is being discontinued!

  • MERRIESUNSHINE11/30/2004

The smell is so sweet that the ONLY place to wear it is in the freezing cold with NO humidity. Perspiration changes it's smell a great deal. There's some similiarity to White Shoulders. Be careful here, this is a strong perfume.

  • LAURA11/15/2004

i am a big fan of Guerlain's Vol de Nuit and Mitsouko, but unfortunately these fantastic scents are not suitable for Hong Kong sultry summer. After one hour, they just disappear. Mahora on the other hand stays, and smells better and better, losing whatever excessive sweetness you might deplore at "first smell" by combining with the natural acidity of your skin. This perfume is just perfect for the hot and humid climate of Hong Kong. I never leave home without it!

  • AMADAN7411/06/2004

If you don't like gardenia scents don't buy this perfume.

  • GAIL09/15/2004

Possibly one of the worst fragrances ever- I work in the industry and this accord is the pits!! So sweet and cloying with all the notes fighting with each other- it-s a yuk, yuk, yuk from me.

  • JAKQUA08/20/2004

I WENT AHEAD AND BOUGHT MAHORA ONE BASED ON THE REVIEWS I READ HERE AND I AM GLAD I DID!!!! I HAVE "FINALLY" FOUND ANOTHER "STAND BY" CLASSY FRAGRANCE THAT IS GOOD AND DOES NOT MAKE ME SMELL LIKE "EVERYBODY ELSE". I DON'T KNOW THE ORIGIN OF THE FILANGIPANI FLOWER, BUT I THINK MAHORA HAS A HAWAIIAN ESSENCE....IT IS REALLY, REALLY NICE!!!!

  • JANICE06/26/2004

This is true to Guerlain's image ... only for real women. i would say over 30s, women who have lived a little. you need to be super-confident to carry it off .. not for the faint-hearted!

  • MARY K. 05/24/2004

Yuck! Headache-inducing fragrance...way too sweet and kind of cheap smelling! Sorry, just my own opinion.

  • M PETERS04/14/2004

Hi! I love mahora with a passion. Can anyone tell me what the name means? Is it french? and where it came from?

  • ELENA04/06/2004

This perfume is unique.. I am unhappy, that it has been discontined..Perhaps the company still change their mind and go on with this mark?

  • ELENA04/06/2004

  • SUE C03/14/2004

I remember this one being launched in dept stores and in magazines, then it disappeared from the shelves. I don't remember trying it out, but it must have been a real flop judging by the comments here. Unusual for Guerlain to make such a mistake. When you can, try Guerlain's latest - L'instant de Guerlain - it's absolutely beautiful and smells of magnolia and honey. I think it's not yet available on this website. Jean-Paul Guerlain has now retired and this latest scent was designed by their new nose, Sylvaine Delacourt (I think that's the spelling).

  • KELLEY03/11/2004

I love this scent just like all the other Guerlain scents ... it has a wonderful sweet, waxy aroma from the frangipani floral heart ... it seems to become richer as it wears.

  • AMBER02/17/2004

If you like tuberose this scent is for you. Personally it reminds me of Charlie.

  • BELLE01/30/2004

I think this fragrance smells like a heavy/woodsy oriental. I recommend trying this one out before purchasing. If you're looking for something light... this isn't for you.

  • MICHELLE06/11/2003

Sultry, exotic, mysterious and not at all overpowering. I'm so lucky to have the chemistry for this scent. I feel more toward complete when I wear it -

  • SARA06/11/2003

I bought this fragance to my mom, because when i tried it, it smell to me to a 50-60 lady. So, the result of this gift, it's an useless bottle in my mother's room. Too sweet, even for old ladies.

  • NATALIE06/07/2003

If anyone has heard of Farouche please e-mail me. I would love to have a bottle. [email protected]

  • MADELINE06/07/2003

Mahora is intensely beautiful. I don't know anyone but myself that can wear a scent like that. Most women would commit social suicide with Mahora.

  • CHANEL2205/04/2003

Such a lovely summer fragrance because it does not smell artificial when you are standing in a garden. It has a lot of vetiver that keeps the sweetness cool and dry. It reminds me of the feeling of Tatiana. There are not many fragrances like this so grab it while you can for hot sticky summer days.

  • KELLI04/24/2003

I have been wearing Mahora since it came out, and I think it is delicious and exotic. I never fail to get a comment on it at least once a day!

  • LOVE02/10/2003

Absolutely love Mahora. I guess it works great for some and not others. probably depends on skin-chemistry.

  • TRACY DEE01/21/2003

I bought a bottle of Mahora and have only used it a few times. I don't think the scent is that bad, but it gives me a headache. I will trade for almost anything (except for Love's Baby Soft, etc.) Anyone interested, please e-mail me at [email protected]. Please put "fragrance swap" in the subject line. Thanks for your interest.

  • ELISHA01/06/2003

I do not like this perfume at all, but perhaps it could work for someone else. I love guerlain perfumes though. My favs are shalimar, mitsouko, and l'heure bleue. I think mahora is just too strong. I think that even though guerlain scents strat off dtarong ey soften raher quickly, this one does not.

  • ALEXANDRA12/03/2002

Even Guerlain can make a mistake! A horrible scent and I can say the same as Mary: the uggliest perfume bottle I've ever seen in my life!!! Unbelievable for Guerlain. From my experience the scent is somehow offensive-herbal-grassy and a bit "undefined" as someone said. Unpleasant, brrrrr...I was kind of shocked when I've tried it. The kind of scent that you can really get sick of it. And THE BOTTLE, again!!!!! Oh, my God!!!

  • DEAFIE12/02/2002

I enjoyed this fragrant but for romance... this is a question. I wore it the night out with my date. He suddenly got a bad breakout on his chest. He was real unhappy and had to take allergy medicine for several days. Allergy medicine constricts his blood vessel makes him have a hard time breathing. This is a no-no to go out on a date. Not so romantic! :(

  • MARY10/23/2002

Well, I don't know the scent and I would like to try it, and see if it's so horrible like many people say it is. One thing though it the bottle!Oh my gosh! It's THE UGLIEST bottle of perfume I have ever seen in my entire life!!! There are many perfumes which have ugly looking bottles (and things like these make you think ..what the heck was the designer (s) thinking about????), but this one is more than horrible! If I'll happen to like this fragrance, I will keep the bottle in a drawer on in my cabinet so nobody will see it!! hehe LOL Mary

  • BETHANY09/27/2002

This fragrance started out too strong, but it had promise. It has a lovely creaminess to it, and an exotic smell of some sort of flower that kept me sniffing. I thought it was different smelling, but I sometimes like that in a perfume. Unfortunately, the cloying sweetness never mellowed out. Too bad, it had potential to be another good one by Guerlain.

  • LANN09/23/2002

I had the siimilar experience with Mahora. I sprayed a little on the back of my hand at lunch time...by the time I got back to work what had been a pleaant odor was horrid and I could not get rid of it by washing it off. It took many washings to get rid of it. It does have staying power.

  • SHREE09/22/2002

creamy, rich, intoxicating for sultry evenings

  • REDONE6608/20/2002

I too love many fragrances by Guerlain, however Mahora I can describe in three words: Stink, Stank, Stunk!! I am afraid that I am stuck with this cloying, sticky-sweet bottle of yuk, I don't know anyone that I could even give it to. I liked the scent when first sprayed it on in the dept. store and implusively purchased the bottle. The dry down is terrible and my husband told me that I stunk.

  • LUCILE07/26/2002

reminds me of the pikaki leis in hawaii... it is sharp sometimes... makes me think it is really interactive with yer chemistry (the scent varies on me), which might explain the so many loves and hates in this relationship you are all having!!!!

  • NURSE PEBBLES06/11/2002

A very strong tuberose scent when first sprayed but then seemed to get mixed up in non-compatible notes...not something I personally would wear

  • EVONE04/08/2002

I agree that this scent grows on you. I think it is okay for everyday use. It is not one of my favorites, but I do continue to wear it because it is unusual and mysterious. Not like anything I have smelled before (and I own a lot of perfumes)!

  • CARLA04/02/2002

Well, there is spices and vanilla but it is soft, too outspoken though. I prefer too be on the safe side with no 5

  • ELISHA 04/01/2002

Nahema smells really good. It is a floriental fragrance. It has fruit and rose note to it, but the dry down has a very pleasant vanilla scent. so if that sounds good to you i recommend it for you. I like this scent because you can small all the notes in he dry down. The fruit rose and vanilla. Oh yeah It also is slightly wood, but not that prominant. Thanks

  • STEPHANIE03/31/2002

Could someone please explain to me what Nahema smells like? I've seen many good comments on that and am surprised at all the bad ones on Mahora.

  • LIZ02/27/2002

This is another fragrance that grows on you..dab some on then wait...it will smell fabulous.

  • CARLA02/26/2002

I bought a 1 oz bottle of Mahora from someone on ebay. It has only been sprayed a couple of times and is, for all purposes, completely full. It was bought in France as a gift, but this person didn't like it. I thought I'd give it a try. I like the fragrance well enough, but it doesn't really suit my personality, and it gave me a little bit of a headache at first. What I *really* want is Nahema by Guerlain, but I'm finding it hard to obtain at a reasonable price. Can anyone help me out? Would anyone trade Nahema for Mahora? As soon as I was ready to bite the bullet and purchase Nahema on this website, they got rid of it! :( If anyone wants to buy the bottle of Mahora (in the original box), I'm willing to sell it for $25 (including priority shipping). Thanks, Carla

  • NATALIA02/21/2002

I bought the edp and I cannot smell after a few minutes. It is not a bad scent, but I don`t love it either. I think Geurlains biggest flop. It`s undefined and not quite alluring. I think it will be off the market soon. Oh,well.

  • SHIRLEY FROM CINCI02/21/2002

this is a fragrance you will fall in love with or dislike it.i dont understand why some people get so nasty about it.i think mahora is one of my top 10. i love angel and wish also. for all you people that dont like yours i will take them off your hand for you, just post for me and ill be happy and so will everyone. ps. so many say its strong and stays with you. i have the edp. and 10 min after i put it on , i nor any one else can smell it. shirley

  • WILL02/14/2002

I almost got talked into buying this for my wife by the sales woman at the perfume counter. This smells bad.

  • VANESSA01/04/2002

The folks at Perfume Emporium must be cracking up at us. Mahora is great, by the way.

  • JOEL12/29/2001

    Yes

  • PERFUMEGIRL12/29/2001

Girls like to have fun. Are you man who wears women's perfumes or woman with a masculine name?

  • JOEL12/29/2001

In response to your question, the answer is what.

  • AIDA12/29/2001

    Wher's the rate?

  • AIDA12/29/2001

You are all so nervous because you use this horrible scent! Guerlain's disaster!

  • JOEL12/23/2001

Hi Gale, I read your hilarious message to me because I didn't like Angel. Funny, it's alright for you to dislike a perfume but not alright for me, that's what you're implying. That's a double-standard. That's very insensitive, non pc, and hypocritical for such a "sophisticated" lady such as yourself. Go back and read some of your messages, your spelling is really quite laughable. Perhaps my eight-year-old nephew could show you how to spell. I can give you his e-mail. I do not wear Old Spice, though Old Spice has made much more of a positive impact on the world than you ever will. I wear Bulgari. You wouldn't like it, it's SUBTLE ( look it up ) and not dreadfully offensive and overbearing like your Angel. You'll have to forgive me, I just had to annihilate you because you can't mind your own business. I've rather enjoyed this, thank you. Mahora smells far better than Angel too. Your love for Angel is a testimony to your intelligence and taste. Hah hah hah!! Itt waz nise tawking two yoo Gale.

  • GAIL12/12/2001

    Nasty,Nasty stuff!!!

  • A.12/06/2001

HM, WHAT A STRANGE STUFF!!!??? I BELIEVE THAT IT IS NOT A BIG HIT. IT IS NOT VERY ALLURING FOR ME; BUT I'M HAPPY THAT SOME OF YOU LIKE IT. THAT IS THE PROOF THAT ALL OF US CAN FIND OUR PERFUME IN THIS WORLD!

  • ANGELA DELGADO11/26/2001

Mahora is also another great exotic scent that i bought this year and added to my favorits!

  • VANESSA11/25/2001

mixed feelings. I love samsara, and I sometimes like this one. It's a very different scent.

  • MOLLIE11/24/2001

This is the best of all of Guerlains fragrances.. Absolutely wonderful (picked it up in duty free in Australia -- so i got it really cheap)

  • EDEN11/23/2001

I just discovered this perfume & I have fallen in love with it! It's sweet, but in a good way.

  • GIOVANNA11/20/2001

The tuberose note delivers a creamy, almost edible scent to this fragrance. My first thought was 'repulsive!'. About a month later, I smelled something very good coming from my table - a strip inside a magazine, with a sample of Mahora. I couldn't believe it! It was so me! Warm, inviting and yes, heady, but also feminine and sophisticated. The saleswoman at Macy's said it is not a big hit. I hope it remains a secret ...

  • KARINA10/27/2001

The jury's still out on this one for me. It definitely has the smell of a perfume of excellent quality, but at times it seems overly sweet or oriental in a very sharp way, and I normally love oriental scents. I think I have to try wearing it a few times before I can really decide. It definitely does remind me of Samsara, but I think Samsara is more appealing, overall.

  • LISA10/20/2001

I am a bit dissapponted. I love Samsara and Shalimar is my all time favorite. I thought I would love this one since it is described as an Oriental. But I have to admit it is too sharp and not deep enough for my taste. I bought a big bottle. Maybe I will have to give it more of a chance or just use it for office wear.

  • JOLENE 10/03/2001

This one is heavenly. It's just the right amount of spicy and sweet. I love it! I'm having a hard time deciding if I like this one better than Samsara or not, and I LOVE SAMSARA!!! Guerlain has definitely mastered the art of making fragrances.

  • KRIS09/25/2001

I bought this scent because I smelled it in a magazine and kept going back to the paper strip again and again. The real thing is quite strong, though, so go EASY. I do like it, in moderation.

  • TESS09/23/2001

When I wear this, I've had more men tell me they love this scent. This reminds me of the scent of a nightblooming flower called mogra that used to be sold on the streetcorners at evening in the Asian city where I spent part of my childhood. It sends me back to the times I spent looking out my bedroom window, when I would get a whiff of the exotic fragrance from a basket of mogra carried past by a street vendor. The trick is to use just a TINY bit. TINY!

  • VIKI09/18/2001

    Not good at all!

  • MAGGIE09/04/2001

I agree. Not for the timid ones. It's so sweet, you want to drink it. Yum!

  • CATARINA08/23/2001

    I think it's sickening.

  • CATHY07/14/2001

This fragrance is unique, sophisticated, complex and intoxicating. It is not for the faint at heart, but for a real woman. You will either love it or hate it. I happen to love it!

  • RUBY07/07/2001

definitely distinctive. sweet and sandalwood. but maybe a bit cloying.

  • TONI B.06/07/2001

What a fantastic sensual fragrance! Long lasting!! Vetiver root,Vanilla and sandalwood base make this a mosat exotic beautiful eau de parfum. Try it!!Especially the pure parfum!!!
