My sister used to wear White Linen in the 70s and I loved it on her. So thought I would purchase a mini to have in my collection. Unfortunately I didn't pay attention and ended up with the Breeze edition. I have tried it twice and do not like it at all, the original is worlds apart from this version. I will be giving or throwing it away.

This fragrance is fresh and clean smelling. The original White Linen smelled like old lady, but this is very different. I always get compliments when I wear this one!

a lot of seelers are trying to sell the original White Linen as White Linen Breeze. There is a huge difference in smell. The breeze is in a GREEN bottle and is very light and citrus...delicious...the original is in a clear bottle trimmed in blue and is stronger in smell, not as nice as Breeze. Has been around since 1996, I used to wear it back then. Please look at the picture of the bottle the seller is trying to sell.

This stuff started out good, then instead of drying down it seemed to dry up! The smell became louder and I had to wash it off pronto.

This scent is absolutely beautiful!!In -97 I recieved a sample of it in a magazine, but I never bought it because I thougt it was too expensive back then.I have always remembered this scent for the light, peachy and musky notes .Today I recieved another sample, this time it was not just a piece of paper but real edt and it is just as fresh and light as I remembered it......actually it is similar to Lauren, by Ralph Lauren, but Breeze is less floral and more modern....but not too modern and trendy.....just perfect....for sumer:-)

This has an ingredient in it which I have detected in other perfumes, and which I do not tolerate well. It gives me a headache. There is something very strong about this ingredient which is often in the fresh-clean smelling perfumes. Issey Miyake gives me the same effect. By the way, I find the original White Linen totally different. Two separate worlds.

I was scouting for that perfect gift for a female friend when I saw Estee's line of perfume. I checked this particular scent and found out nothing really extra-ordinary. As a matter of fact... it smells like a local alcohol to me. Not the one I bought.

I, too, hope this product is never discontinued. It's such a clean, light, fresh scent and it's also perfect for daytime office wear since it doesn't threaten to overwhelm those nearby. Would like to see it in some gift sets.

    a signature scent

  • ANN11/20/2003

It has been mentioned before on this board: on fabric this scent is light and doesn't smell bad, but on my skin it turns into something faint like the scent of dying flowers. I won't spray it on my skin again and pray that it doesn't leave marks on my clothes when I spray it on them...

I like light and fresh fragrances, but without strong citrusy notes. It should be soft: that's the one like that. Airy, transparent, not too floral, not too sweet, not too sharp. I prefer W.L.Breeze to the original White Linen.

  • CYNTH09/07/2003

I'm a huge fan of White Linen parfum, which I return to again and again, so I wondered if White Linen Breeze would be as good for me. It really is nothing like White Linen. It is light and airy...leaves a fruity (citrus?) floral scent. It smells very good sprayed on towels and sheets for a fresh summer scent, but it isn't my kind of thing for the skin. It reminds me of Polo Sport for Women but it's about half as strong and lasts not nearly as long, which is weird since Polo Sport is an edt, and my W.L.Breeze is edp. But they are very different aromas in that the Polo fragrance has an herbaceous element that the Breeze scent lacks. White Linen Breeze is a good, light summer fragrance for those who lean towards fresh, young scents or it's also an excellent room and linens spray.

  • EVELYN08/04/2003

This is my absolute favourite among the bunch of Estee Lauder fragrances. Perhaps it is the name, but the fragrence reminds me of a chest of freshly laundered and sun dried bed linens, stored with sachets filled with cedarwood and other aromatics. It is all about freshness and cleanliness. And also about open air, like a breeze from an ocean, an unlimited horizon. In short, White Linen Breeze is a lovely fragrance, that deserves much more attention than it gets. A last word, do not be intimidated by the initially strong and perhaps a bit pungent smell, the strong notes soften quickly and beautifully. And the fragrance lasts quite long.

  • BARB02/18/2003

I sure hope this isn't discontinued...It's my favorite! I wear it every day, and it's wonderful for nighttime, too!

  • LAURA SHELTON01/11/2003

it is hard to get this fragrance in stores in a gift set. estee lauder needs to market this product. i hope they dont discontinue it

  • A.G.05/07/2002

A nice fragrance...Light, but good staying power. Kind of floral-aquatic,I think!? I suggest you to try it.

  • LORI05/01/2002

This is by far the best scent ever! I can't believe Estee' isn't stocking it more than White Linen (which smells like an old lady!)I get more compliments on Breeze than any other!

  • LEELIOUX12/06/2001

This is a clean-smelling classic. It's good memories of elegant women in my family. It's strong though, so use sparingly or else people will run! I find it nice in the wintertime for it's lasting power.

  • HT11/29/2001

I only tried the white linen breeze lotion. It smells like the sea or something. I don't like it.

  • TRUPTI08/07/2001

This is a really nice fragrance to wear in the summer. It's a subdued version of the classic White Linen. Try it!
