If it is a question of trendy vs classic, it's a no brainer; classic has passed the test of time. a man's cologn must have lemon/lime for freshness and masculinity. This one has it all; classic, passed the test of time, lemon/lime and a freshness second to none. Daytime wear is best.

  • GUY05/23/2007

For nearly 35 years this great scent radiates like the summer sunshine, even on the rainiest day. Lemon-lavender & verbena is just the beginning. The drydown of amber/ musk and vetiver/patcholi last for hours. Dated, you say. Think again. Pretend you have never tried it. It is the most contempory thing on the market

  • ALFIE04/24/2007

This fragrance is an oldies fragrance. The orange/lime dominate this fragrance. Very strong almost like Rive Gauche

  • SABARIZ11/23/2006

Not too much to say. Just wearing it over the years, and beeing wooed by women everywhere!

  • DENNIS11/10/2006

I've been wearing this one on & off over the years, and I always somehow keep going back to it. I would call it one of the classics for sure. It's not a pretentious scent, just emits cleanliness, masculinity & freshness. I wouldn't wear it on an all-out seduction campaign, but it has surprised me in the past as to how women seem to warm up to me whenever I'm wearing YSL & I've forgotten that I put it on that morning.

Back in the day (1979) YSL would bring women to their knee's in lust! in south Jersery.

  • KORY12/15/2005

You want to be different, this is the cologne to wear. It is a true classic and refreshing scent.

  • RICHARD 11/11/2005

An oldie but goodie. Much better than anything after Jazz! Reminds me of the summer sunshine when this is all one might wear on a nude beach! Many kids today may appreciate its timeless appeal!

  • DAVE 11/06/2005

when i first put it on i was nearly knocked out by the lemonness (if thats a word) but upon dry down it became a real masculine and clean smell and lasts all day, to be honest when its been on for about 5 hours it does smell a little bit like jazz. I think maybe they share some major ingredients. overall a goodun thats stood the test of time, 34 yrs in fact.As they say, style never goes out of fashion.

Wonderful soapy topnotes with an impressive blast of lemon. Then grass or hay, a little bit of woods. Very outdoorsy. Smells like “summer in the morning.” Love the drydown, as well – masculine, adult. The only Yves Saint Laurent fragrance that I can stand, so far. Pretty good longevity as well, for a citrus fragrance.

I like it, but dont use it, because i am afraid that it smells a bit old. I dont think so really, and should probably just give a damn, but... Thats why i only give it 4 out of 5. Any thoughts? (im 31).

  • TONI FINISH02/22/2004

I don´t know much about this ones tradition, but it sure smells very much like a true classic. Masculine, old fashion scent. It´s like a lonely lemon, lefted on a sun burnt grass. And it´s crying, while it´s waiting for it´s dad-lemon to come home.

  • KEN07/12/2003

This reminds of what my uncle used to wear in the 70's. I thought he was so cool, and I wanted to be just like him. It's very nice.

  • CHERYL05/11/2003

Johnny Boy has it right. When I smell this, I think of my dad. It was his signature for years. It smells very masculine and clean. I love it!

  • JOHNNY BOY12/01/2002

Crisp clean and I have never worn it without a women comenting on it. sure it may smell like an old time cologne from a different time but women like the smell of there daddies and thats what daddies wore in the 70'Give it a tryyou wont be dissapointed

  • TIMOTHY MCBRIDE03/03/2002
