ordering from emporium was excellent, prompt, well packaged. assume product s in burani may be a little old as no lnger in production i understand. i love this scent and wish it were still being made. there are a few being offered on internet. i bid on one but didnt make higher bids because i wasnt sure about freshness worth paying for. if im wrong please tell me. i love burani perfume. sad i found it so late. nancy

  • ALEXA10/28/2011

Beautiful perfume. One of the few perfumes that didn't give me headaches. Lovely bottle design, head and shoulders above other perfumes. Such a loss and will be missed.

  • HADRIANNE 08/21/2011

PLEASE, SOME OTHER COMPANY BUY THE RIGHTS TO IT AND KEEP MAKING IT IF THE COMPANY'S GOING UNDER!

  • CELIA 08/16/2011

Have been trying to find this perfume for years. I used this lovely scent in the 1990s-until I could no longer find it for sale in the UK.Whenever I've found it for sale online -it is always out of stock. It is sad news that Mariella Burani has gone out of business, but surely, given that there is an obvious demand for this perfume, there could be some sort of rescue package for such a good product? With good marketing there is a profit to be made. I hope there is better news on the horizon for this perfume in the near future.

  • JUDY 08/09/2011

Please don't tell me this is not available. I will be crushed!!!!! I love it!!!!!!!!

  • FALLSTAR06/07/2011

The company, Mariella Burani, is going under, and unfortunately this was one of the first things to go...so it's no longer being produced. check ebay, good luck.

  • CLIFTINE05/17/2011

I love the soft fragrance. You can never put on too much... It's a up close and personal space perfume. I always get asked about the name of the perfume. It's not easy to get (like in a local store), The online information was too much info for a new buyer.

  • CLIFTINE05/17/2011

Where do you get your marketing info from? This perfume is the best things sence tater chips and pop. I started using your product approx 15 years ago. I use to buy 4 to 6 at one time. I have always had to purchase on line. If this was in the stores it would fly off the shelves. Please keep producing this product.

  • CHRISTY04/28/2011

What is going on ... everyone is out of stock. This is the BEST perfume in the world! Please do not discontinue!

  • EMILIA GAGO03/07/2011

What Happen to this perfume, I have been using it sinse the ninetys I cant find it anywere. Wer can i find it?

  • KAREN03/06/2011

I cannot find this perfume anywhere, not even in Europe. Have they discontinued it?

  • TERRI12/31/2010

where is this perfume. No one has it. What is going on? Did they discontinue it? I will die if they did..

  • JILL12/10/2010

i bought this years ago because i loved the bottle and thought i liked the scent..i keep trying it but to me it's too powdery smelling and heavy. I still love the bottle..

  • SUZETTE11/19/2010

I haven't been by here in quite a while! Don't know if you'll see my reply since you posted over a year ago! Coriandre was never a favorite of mine; I find it a bit dry, crisp, and unexciting. Sorry, I'm not familiar with any of the other scents you've named. The perfume industry has exploded to include so many fragrances, designers, houses, etc. even I can't keep up! I'll just say Mariella Burani is STILL my absolute favorite, but lately I'm also enjoying Gucci by Gucci, IDOLE d' Armani, D&G's 'La Roue De La Fortune', By Kilian's 'Back to Black', and Calvin Klein's new 'Beauty'. Disappointed in: Guess's 'Seductive'. When I got it home, it smelled like cheap drug store stuff on par with 'Vanderbilt'; had a dry down like those little rolls of tart pastel disk candy we used to get tons of on Halloween. Juicy Couture's 'Peace and Love' is nice but mimics Dior's 'Diorella'. Tom Ford's 'White Suede', which I bought online unsmelled, has something in it that smells just like cigarette smoke; it was costly, boring, and faded in ten minutes. Happy Fuming, everybody!!!

  • SHARON11/16/2010

lynn, how are you finding this perfume?? I have worn it for over 10 years, and can now only find it on-line, not in any stores. and on-line they are saying it is out of stock. do you know if it has been discontinued?? gosh I sure hope not!!

  • LYNNE10/24/2010

I have an allergy to most perfume. That is why I use the EDT in this one. Every man that has come near me to express a "hello" or "goodbye" has always complimented me on the smell. It was a gift and the gentleman is classy and has very good taste. I do find your prices higher than the prices on the other sites.

  • MARIA04/16/2010

LOVE LOVE THIS PERFUME ITS WONDERFULL

  • TANYA02/16/2010

For those who are not so sure about this fragrance. Try it in the WINTER, its wonderful. I always appreciate it more then. I love it all year long, but in the winter it is expecially nice.

  • TANYA02/16/2010

One of the best ways to promote a perfume is with minis. A lady carrys it with her and when someone comments on it and she pulls it out of her purse. Wa La it sells itself.

  • TANYA02/16/2010

I noticed you do sell the mini or purse size of the Mariella Burani but it is not in yet. I will have to keep checking. I love this fragrance.

  • TANYA02/16/2010

I saw my old review on this. I was like that was my review. Well it is 3 years later. I still LOVE the Mariella Burani, the original, I would still love to find the parfum in this. My husband still loves this frangrance. He always notices when I wear it.

  • LIZ03/28/2009

Suzette, I hope you're well, thanks for your previous post, I've been searching for a detailed description of Goutal Eau du Ciel. (Saks and Niemans don't have testers.) Are you familiar with it? Your description of Mariella Burani was spot on, and I'm glad I bought some. That's why I'm seeking your opinion about Eau du Ciel. I'd appreciate your comments.

  • ORCHIDFLWER03/03/2009

And if was beautiful! I have not tried it on my skin yet, but when I do, I hope it smells as good.

  • LIZ05/11/2008

sorry this beauty doesn't last well for you. I only have the edt and find it lasts all day, the drydown is beautiful for me and really stays

  • LIZ05/11/2008

Hi there suzette, I've been branching out a little lately, recently purchased jolie madame, un jardin sur le nil, both are very good. Are you acquainted with any of the scherrer fragrances, and if so, what's your opinion? Also, Coriandre, what do you think of that one? I hope you're still out there...

  • JEANNE02/06/2008

Wow! This scent is by far the lovliest of the parfums. I am constantly asked 'what is that wonderful scent?' For some reason I can no longer find stores that carry it.

  • SANDY M.CHOICES12/20/2007

I've loved Mariella Burani for three years now. I really would like to find it in EDP and dusting powder. Any suggestions?

  • TANYA10/22/2007

This frangrance is so wonderful, very soft yet warm. My husband absolutely loves this fragrance. I have a ton of perfume. But this is the only one he ever says anything about. And it always gets a positive response. I do love the parfum and I can't find it anywhere. But I will keep looking. But until then I will keep wearing the Eau DeToilette.

  • MAGGIE09/09/2006

A few years ago I was introduced to the Mariella Burani fragrance line and fell completely in love with the bottles and the actual fragrance. Very feminine and oh so pretty for a very affordable price. My favorites are Bouquet de Roses and Amuleti. I'm down to the very last squirt of Bouquet de Roses and I'm finding this fragrance hard to find. If you should be so lucky to come across it I reccomend you try it. It's very suttle and truly feminine with floral nuances. And in todays world of perfums, where most women's frangrances smell the same or smell like mens watered down cologne that is is a good thing. Sometimes a woman wants to smell like a woman, not like a man or as if she just got out of the shower.

  • SCOTTISH 4907/30/2006

This is a romantic perfume, not a run of the mill fashion perfume!!It has orange, cedar , violet and iris in its make-up and you never forget the smell.

  • TAYA03/23/2006

This is one of the best perfumes ever, however there is a big difference in staying power in the edt as opposed to hte edp version. Edp version is a little bit harder to find. It is only sold in 1.3 oz size and it comes in a oval box and has a round bottle (with the similar rose on the top as the edt version). If you are really into this fragrance, I would definitely suggest to get the edp version since the edt will evaporate within 1/2 hour tops.

  • SUZETTE11/03/2005

Sorry, it took me a year to get back to you! Oh, well! I never read books on fragrances, I go by my own opinion. Chloe is a similar color to Bijan but the difference is marked. Chloe is flowery calla lilies and Bijan is hot spices. I prefer Chloe. It's more classy and feminine. Bijan was one of the fastest changing perfumes I ever experienced. Within only two years, it smelled totally different, 'off', and not as good as when first purchased. I think Gucci 3 is a dead ringer for HERMES' AMAZONE. Burani's Bouquet d' Amour in Mysterieuse is nice, but none of that line compares to the original Burani signature fragrance, nor are they as long-lasting. To the person asking about the difference between Burani and Eau Rosee: Burani is a complex mix of many things: flowers, vanilla, citrus, aldehydes and woods blended just right. With Eau Rosee, you smell basically two things alone: light powder and strong woods. Burani's signature fragrance is the best there is, but I'm not crazy about most of her other ones. STORAGE TIPS: If you keep a fragrance boxed, it'll last much longer in scent quality, color, and non-evaporation. Biggest evaporator ever?--GIVENCHY. Keep Givenchy perfumes boxed in the dark. Worst and quickest scent turner?--AVON. Use it or lose it. That's a big problem with the 'cheaper stuff'. After 20 years some perfumes get stronger and thicker (Calvin Klein's Obsession). Some stay exactly the same (Dior's Poison). Some get nasty and good for the garbage (GUESS, some of Estee Lauder's). But, a good air-tight bottle, kept in its box in the dark, by one of the better houses (Guerlain, Patou, Dior, Yves St. Laurent) will last forever. I'd keep them out of the refrigerator. Too much cold can change the scent and damage it. So can too much heat. Don't store the bottles near the radiators or under your lamps and keep them OUT of the warm, humid bathroom. Dark closets and drawers are best.

  • OLIVIA09/11/2005

This is a very sweet scent with foody notes to me( I think I smell vanilla note ). Have to be in the mood to wear it and wish it has longer lasting power. I think I got a positive comment from a 3 yrs old girl-when I let her smell my wrist, she said:" want to eat it." I guess it was the vanilla note she smelled and liked.

  • LINDA05/03/2005

What is EDP (Collection of Roses)? Is it the same as the regular Mariella Burani? I love the original and want to purchase more but I'm confused. Aslo is there a small purse spray available in the original?

  • BELLE02/25/2005

Is this the good smelling one or is the Mariella Burani Eau De Rosee better than the original Mariella Burani? I read a description on the Eau De Rosee, and it contains some of the same ingredients that the original has, but Eau De Rosee has peach and coconut in it. Has anyone smelled both of these to compare them? I've never smelled either one.

  • KAY02/23/2005

I just recently purchased and received the EDP version from Perfume Emporium. I have to say that it is much better than I was hoping for. I love the complexity of the scent, and how you cannot recognize any one specific note. This is not a fruity, gumball, grapefruit perfume. I can't explain it, but it is unique and lovely.

  • NINA01/05/2005

The drydown of this is an overwhelming, nauseating sticky vanilla scent, sorry.

  • NANCY10/28/2004

I recently purchased Mariella Burani cologne, whic I have thoroughly enjoyed, however, when I ordered a new supply over the internet, the Mariella Burani that arrived was a different scent. I can't see where it designates which scent is which on the bottle. None of the bottles look like the ones you have pictured. Please advise. Thanks, Nancy

  • LIZ10/21/2004

suzette, thanks for your reply. looks like you're getting a cult following! Tell us more...have you read Jan Moran's books? Bijan seems to have rave reviews, what do you think of it? It is the same color as Chloe, which -- I just don't understand that fragrance. Don't you think Gucci 3 and Eau de Soir are dead ringers for each other? I do. But getting back to Burani -- which bouquet des roses and bouquet d'amour do you recommend?

  • M10/09/2004

..the one who wrote in November 01. You have collected perfumes for over 20 years and have over thousend of them. My questions are; how do you store them and do you feel any changes in the smell of the ones that are twenty years old? Other experiences from storing? I have perfumes that are ten years old that hasn´t changed at all. Most of them I have stored in the fridge and some dark in room temperature. I hope you read this, I´m eager to learn from your experience!

  • PIA10/07/2004

I don't know if I like this edt at all, loved my mini which I finished last winter and recently purchased a 1.7 oz edt., very dissapointing scent, maybe my mini was edp. The scent in my 1.7 oz is so plain and mediocre as if some of the ingredients were missing.

  • PIA10/05/2004

I recently received a mini of the eau rosee and it smells identical to the Mariella Burani we are posting here for. Exactly what is the difference in the two and why make two fragrances identical? I also have Mariella the one in the frosted glass with black cap which is a very nice soft rosy spicy scent. Thanks for info.

  • SUZETTE09/29/2004

I also enjoy D&G's 'Sicily' and Moschino's 'Haute Couture'. I'm glad you were able to discover Mariella Burani, it's plainly the BEST!

  • MJC09/21/2004

I purchased this because I liked the bottle top,and when I spritzed a little in the store, a woman next to me said Oh! that smells nice. When my man saw the receipt, he was response was "You paid that much for some perfume?anf you don't even use half the ones yov've got." Later that night, he kept sniffing my neck and shoulder, not once or twice, but Many times. His only comment was."You smell good, I like that" This morning he said, "Uh, could you wear that again tonight. So this must be some type of winner.Personally I didn't think it was all that great, but "HEEEY!"

  • CINDIE09/16/2004

My mom liked it, so I gave it to her. Very light and understated.

  • KIM N09/15/2004

This is a nice soft fragrance. Too many perfumes out there give me a headache so I appreciate fragrances that are pretty and light. I love the top note on this...wish it would stay but it does change after dry down. It's still a pretty scent.

  • BLANKIN09/08/2004

There are worse things to smell like I guess. This is very strong (I used the tiniest little bit) and reminds me of "powder fresh" scented deoderant. I got the tiny tiny .15 fl. oz. size, and the bottle is adorable.

  • CC08/21/2004

an odd melange of conflicting notes. smells like D&G Sicily at first but doesn't have the honey dry down and dosn't last(thankfully).

  • MARTIE08/12/2004

I just have to say it again... Man I love this!! I just wore it to a show about a week ago and I could smell myself every minute or so and it smelled sooooooo good!!! I think I smelled better than anyone in the showroom! :D A note* use plenty of this when you spray it and let it dry down too because it retains the powdery notes but develops the amber vanilla and sweet notes later (very fresh!!) It is absolutely divine!!! It has bergamot in it as well, which is what you are smelling if you detect a very fresh smell. One of my favorite ingredients :D!!

  • ADRIANNE07/21/2004

Hi, I would like to try the Mariela fragrance the one that came out after the original, not the eau rosee, just the plain Mariella which is described as an oriental with marine notes. Is it good, what is it like, is it similar to any of the current popular fragrances? Thanks, Adrianne.

  • JOAN07/06/2004

this is quite a delicate, subtle fragrance. if you're a smoker or plagued by allergies you will miss a lot of the depth of this fragrance.

  • LIZ07/06/2004

sorry to hear you didn't like it. who ever called it an oriental? it's really more of a floral aldehyde, along the lines of chanel 5, or l'air du temps. I wish you could send it my way.

  • LIZ07/06/2004

you sound like a serious perfume collector. I smelled mariella burani because of your review - and love it. Do you have any other favorites?

  • IRINA06/29/2004

I bought it online, only because of all the nice messages here....it's really bad.And I am a fan of orientals. Now I don't know what to do with it,I'm not even sure that my grandmother will like it.

  • PIA05/21/2004

Hi, based upon all the positive comments, I just ordered the gift set . It has 1.7 oz eau de toilette natural spray, 1.5 shower gel, 1.5 lotion and two soaps for a little over 30 dollars. Surf the net , you'll find it. Excited to get it, hope I like it!

  • MARCY05/13/2004

I bought this perfume because of all of the raves on this message board. Honestly, I don't get why so many love it, it seems kind of boring and powdery to me. I guess we all have our favorites, but this is not one of mine. Not horrible, just not great.

  • ANETTE04/18/2004

    Floral baby powder. Bland.

  • LIZ03/25/2004

Wow, Suzette! I really want to try it now. Unique as it is, can you give me a group of perfumes to compare it to? The descriptions sound Hanae Mori-ish, or perhaps L'interdit ish. How would you compare it to those two?

  • BURANI FOREVER11/02/2003

It's euphoria to the sense of smell, like the best music is to the ears, the greatest artwork is to the eyes, the finest food is to the taste, and the most gorgeous man is to sensual desire. The little lady in Italy hit nasal to mind rapture with this outstanding blend like no fragrance designer ever has, does or will. This perfume gets into your soul and becomes one of the things you cherish about existing on earth.

  • TC09/05/2003

Got a sample in the mail, I loved it! Ordered some, love it even more!! A classic fragrance in our not so classic times. Perfect as a signature scent for women of distiction. Not a "fad fragrance" that will be history in a month.

  • ANTONIO HARRELL06/14/2003

This perfume is awesome I order it for my wife even before smelling it she had tried Amulet which is also great, but this one is WOW!!!!!!!

  • MARTIE06/12/2003

This is my all time favorite! I've never found anything to match it. It has just the right blend of everything/ fresh, vanilla, a hint of powder, a hint of fruit and floral. It is just a spectacular fragrance! Everytime I wear it, people are like, WOW, what is that? I think it is the best kept secret of the perfume world. No one where I live even knows about it because they don't sell it here. I have only seen it in upscale dept. stores and perfume specialty shops. I discovered it while out of town about 8 years ago.

  • SUE05/24/2003

The smell of this particular fragrance reminds me of Ivory Soap!

  • SUSAN02/14/2003

Ordered this fragrance from the many positive feedbacks and just received it today. It is fabulous, and very special. Will be my new favorite.

  • NICOLE12/13/2002

Soft, elegant, flowery. I love it. After trying so many scents, I finally settled for two winners: Mariella Bunari and Cerruti 1881 that have the same qualities. They smell like classics but they are from the 90's. Definitely, not following the trend. Excellent!!

  • SARI11/21/2002

Fabulous fragrance My husband loves it. Sensuous

  • NONI07/17/2002

i agree with everyone else who says this smells wonderful but like nurse pebbles has already pointed out no staying power.fades fast.layering is a must.

  • NURSEPEBBLES06/04/2002

What a letdown when I got this fragrance,I trusted the many positive responses as I have with previous purchases of "Ellen Tracy","Belladgio" etc...this smells very "run of the mill"...too much vanilla and had no staying power...A "miss" in my book:(

  • LOLA05/18/2002

for anytime when you don't know which fragrance to choose.it is soft enough for any occasion or company.

  • LINDA S05/03/2002

Tried for the first time today it's ,wonderful my husband comment was "you smell great"when I kissed him good bye before leaving for work.

  • PAT SMITH05/02/2002

    Can't do without it.

  • ARLENE05/01/2002

I have used this fragrance since it was introduced and receive compliments everytime! It is sold in all Bloomingdale Stores here on the East Coast.

  • CARLA04/02/2002

after all these comments I tried it. Too fruit/candy /chewing-gummish

  • CHAR03/21/2002

I absolutely love Mariella Burani Eau de Parfum, where can I find it? If anyone can help me find it please send info. to [email protected] Thanks

  • MICHELLE03/05/2002

Michele: You can purchase on line. That seems to be the only way. I also had a shop that no longer sells Burani. I understand your frustration. Good luck.. Best regards.

  • MICHELLE 03/05/2002

You wouldn't catch me w/out my Mariella Burani. You have to try this exceptional perfume. I refuse to wear any other.

  • MICHELE'02/24/2002

My husband purchased this for me in Hudson's, an upscale store in Michigan, a couple of years ago. I ran out about a year ago so my husband called Hudson's, the presonal shopper told him they no longer sold Muriella Burani and sent him Rykiel Rose, now I am out of that as well and NO ONE seems to sell either scent. Could someone help me out and tell me where (if anywhere)you can purchase either Muriella Burani or Rykiel Rose here in Florida?

  • LINDA02/23/2002

I fell in love with the fragrance on a test strip and never expected the actual fragrance to live up to the strip--they never seem to in the past. Mariella Burani is heavenly and also has lasting power. This fragrance has captured femininity in a bottle. I, too, will even wear it to bed just to enjoy the delicious fragrance. I plan on also trying the entire line by Burani, particularly Amuleti. Many of the new fragrances out today resemble each other, yet Mariella stands out in a crowd. The fragrance dances to a different drummer--and I love it!

  • MARIE12/21/2001

I must say this is my first time to a site such as this. Why? I was looking for information on Mariella Burani. I was in a hair salon, and one of my hair stylist's admirers came in. He wanted her to try this perfume on her. When she sprayed it ALL of the other stylists and customers wanted to purchase it. She gave me what was suppose to be her gift. This is my second day wearing it, and I've received so many compliments. In the past, I purchased sets so I was surfing to see if I could find a body lotion and shower gel for this line. This is definitely a winner!!!! Anytime that I'm willing to stay up late at night to surf the net.

  • AIMEE12/19/2001

Warm; spicy; soft; edible; rootbeer-vanilla-caramel; exotic flowers; aldehydes/hairspray. It is good, but does not stand out. I have smelled similar fragrances.

  • HISAKO12/16/2001

I have been looking for a perfume that can be my "signature scent" for a long time. But now I have found it! I just wanted to share with other perfume lovers how excited I am. I had never bought any perfumes without trying them for a while as I develope somewhat "dislikes" even if I liked them at first. Well, it never be the case with this scent. As Susanette- sorry if I don't remember one of the perfume lover who wrote a comment on this scent- mentioned, every element of this is just rihgt and guess what? I bought five testers as they were on sale!! I don't mean to advertize for the company but they virtually carry any perfumes with outstanding prices. Believe me. My "the perfume" seach was over!

  • EVONE12/10/2001

To you perfume enthusiats, I share your passion and have quite a collection also. I bought a bottle of Mariella Burani, some type of Eau version. It is nice and light, and I have never seen it anywhere. The bottle is kind of an oval shape, and the lid is the standard floral design except it is a frosted clear/white color. Do you know exactly what the name of this perfume is? I obviously did not pay attention when I bought it.

  • AL11/29/2001

Can anyone recommend a fragrance similar to this?

  • AL 11/29/2001

I, too am a perfume enthusiast for the past 18 years and I must agree with Suzette that this is probably the best you can find on the market. Unfortunately, living in the Far East, it is difficult to come by. My husband bought a bottle for me about 5 years ago at a duty free shop at a virtually unknown airport in the Far East, but 5 years on, when I had finished the last drop and wanted more , I failed to locate it anywhere in the Far East.A real shame because I would like it to be part of my wardrobe forever.

I've been collecting perfumes for over 20 years and must have literally over a thousand bottles in my collection. Perfume collecting is a hobby of mine. I have EVERYTHING. I've tried and worn EVERYTHING. I've got all the designer fragrances (old and new), the classics, remote oils mixed in small perfume shops from little corners of the world, antique perfumes from the turn of the century, the 20's and 30's. Mariella Burani is the BEST FRAGRANCE EVER, IN THE WHOLE WORLD. It is perfect for any season, any occasion, any mood, day or night. The blend is flawless. It's very old-fashioned romantic and classic yet manages to accomplish a modern, contemporary twist in some inexplicable fashion no other perfume can match. Burani is just powdery enough, just floral enough, just fruity enough, just sweet enough, just sexy enough, just elegant enough and it all combines to make the ultimate fragrance experience. It isn't just a perfume, it's aromatherapy. It takes one away and makes one fantasize and seems to bring out to full focus all the beauty and romance of life. Do yourself a favor and at least TRY this perfume, you'll fall madly in love with it! It is the versatile, magical standout of the fragrance world!

This is definitely my FAVORITE. Every other perfume I used would make me sick after a certain period of time. I often put this one on when I go to sleep, because it makes me feel wonderfull.

I love this scent. I have all my female relatives addicted to it- including my 95 year-old Grandmother! It's very floraly, but not overpowering. The scent reminds me of how I feel when I've just stepped out of the shower and dusted talc all over my body! I have received many compliments while wearing it.
