Not a bad citris smelling fragrance, but 1/2 hour after spraying it on, there was next to no trace of it on my skin. That's the only reason I won't recommend it.

  • RYAN12/13/2008

Can't quite put my finger on what the problem is but I really hate this stuff. I find the smell very offensive to the nose. Just not pleasant. The womans version is no better either. I'd stay well clear of 'happy' and its offsprings.

  • DAVID10/05/2008

I agree with Rob. The scent doesn't last at all long and to be quite hones its not a very nice smell anyway. Mind you I don't like any of the clinique scents (i'm talking about the womens version as well) - they all have a harsh base note which is a real turn off. I have forbidden my mother to wear her 'happy' perfume when I'm around - really can't stand it. By the way, Clinique, usually if a fragrance has 'for men' written on it that does NOT mean unisex - so it shouldn't really be suitable for women to wear. IN other words, you need to make your so-called 'mens' fragrances more manly

  • LJS08/29/2008

Poor staying power Horrible base note (like a mixture of soap and various detergent chemicals - yuck) Far, far, far too feminine. I'm aware that loads of women buy this for themselves or steal some from their partners. So whats the point of us men buying it? Not to be sexist in any way, but as a man, I really do not want to be smelling like a woman.

  • WHITE05/21/2008

I find it rather difficult to determine if I have enough or too much of it on. But it is a great fragrance.

  • LINDA12/08/2007

Hey, guys I love this cologne on my husband so much, even my own father smelled it in passing on my husband , loved it, and asked what it was--he is very picky. So quess what he wants for Christmas!!!

  • J.RIV09/22/2007

My bestfriend wears this and he swears he gets the best reactions from it. But to me the Orange notes are wayy too dominate. Smells like someones just peeled an orange in front of you when you frist spray it. Very citrusy. Very Orange. Then on top of it being very plain IMO this stuff doesnt last more than 3 hrs. It doesnt stink. It is actually okay. But is not a "sexy" fragrance. It is more of a daytime sporty type scent. It isnt very expensive so you really cant complain for its price. But if you want a great daytime fragrance try YSL L'Homme, or Claiborne Sport. I personally believe YSL L'homme is going to be the next epidemic like Curve was. YSL is a beautiful scent. try it.. you'll fall in love

  • DARRSHAN06/07/2007

i bought a new bottle just now, but still i have got some amt left in my last bottle, the last one smells awesome and lasts for a day, but the new bottle is not up to mark, now it is given made in switzerland and for this i was very excited for its longivety, but its the other way round, i have experienced this in many fragrances like, ARMANI, TRUTH, HIGHER DIOR, ISSEYMIYAKE, WHATS WRONG WITH THESE GRETA COMPANIES.

  • GERT JAN VAN WATERINK06/06/2007

It seems as of 2007 all big fragrance houses want to have their own summer edition of its most famous perfume. Usually I dislike these cheap interpretations. They always lack originality. But first their was 'Happy' by Clinique! A delightful elegant, fresh, orange-like summer fragrance. It's a bloody shame that Lacoste imitated this stuff with 'Red Hot' by Lacoste.

  • RYAN04/05/2007

Not to put down anyone that likes this scent, but I hate it. To me, it smells like lemons and limes squeezed into a perfume bottle. To my nose it also seems to have a chemical harsh note thrown in with all the citrus. Would never purchase a bottle.

  • SILKY12/29/2006

But, it really works with a few people. After you get past the "top" citrus notes, the dry down is indescribable with the right body chemistry. A lady, at my former job, literally yelled a "WooWeee, you smell good" at me when I helped her pick up some of her work she drop on the floor.

  • SAQUIB12/14/2006

If you are looking for a fruity scent, primarily of mandarin oranges, then this one is for you. Nice light scent for the summer days.

  • ALAN G.12/11/2006

this is great to use after u get off the shower, smells so clean and citrusy

  • LAURINHA11/13/2006

Last friday, I went to a party and a friend (girl) was wearing a gorgeous perfume. I asked what she was wearing and she said Happy for Men. I was wearing Happy for Women, which I like too, but I have to buy the men's version for the summer. I don't think it's as masculine as Aqua di Gió, for example. I love ADG for men, but only in men. Happy I think is unissex :)))

  • CHRISTOPHER10/03/2006

when i first purchased this cologne, i was satisfied, at best, never really blown away by it. As time went on, however this cologne just seemed more and more repulsive. Eventually, just getting a whiff of the stuff made me want to barf. Buy this stuff if you want to smell like a citrus basket all day.

  • ROB07/12/2006

As I stated about Cliniques other cologne for men "Chemistry", this one is just as bad, if not worse. The lasting power sucks, the all around scent is horrible. To the people who come up with these scents at Clinique-ITS NOT WORKING! GET SOMETHING BETTER!

  • ONG-BAK06/28/2006

Pleasant enough citrusy (very citrusy) and woody cologne is a good all-around casual scent that's not commonly worn such as the popular Cool Water, Curve, AdG or whatever.

  • RISA06/21/2006

I love this scent when my bf wears it. I got one for myself to wear too when I far from him. It's also unisex, that's cool.

  • KALIHIMOKE05/23/2006

I went to the store and had the woman spray a little of this on my arm. At first, she said it had a peachy scent, which gave me the impression that this was a feminine scent; but as the day went on, it started to smell better. There's a citrusy scent initially, but it's not as overwhelming (through out the day) as others have posted. The woman still suggested that Chrome is still a fresh scent.

  • FIFI01/29/2006

A well dressed couple came in to my office, and after talking for a few minutes with them, I asked whether anybody wore Chanel Chance. They said it's actually clinique happy for men. it was pretty okay but a bit too strong. i dont think i'll let my man wear this because i agree that this is not for men over 30 hehehe

  • TONY T12/30/2005

scent. spring/summer above 70 degree scent. plain and simple, if you like oranges you will love happy. top 5 citrus scent along with 1. le roy soleli 2. geir 3. aqua di gio 4. dkny be delicious 5. paris hilton and then this.

  • CHRISTIAN TANGLAO12/27/2005

THis one can drive girls crazy but you need a lot of it because it doesnt last that long...well at least for me...wearing it does make me feel good and happy...

  • MAYA11/01/2005

Happy for men is really nice... Not my favorite, but in the top 20 for sure. Both men and women like this one... I love it :)

  • MR. LONGROVE09/07/2005

Happy by Clinique isn't a bad fragrance at all. The light citrus scent makes it great for warmer weather. My only complaint is that the fragrance isn't all that long lasting. Try some and judge for yourself.

  • JAMIE08/06/2005

This has such a great, both yummy and sexy scent! If I were a guy I'd wear it, but I'm not, so I just buy it for guys as gifts lol. At least I'll know they're using a good cologne.

  • ANNIE06/22/2005

This fragrance makes me feel fresh & clean. It's especially nice in the summer. In my opnion this scent is a bit masculine, but it's not musky at all & I think women could wear it just as easily. I get many compliments when I wear it.

  • LE PHR33K04/29/2005

i love this perfume. problem is... like most people said... it doesnt last very long... too bad :( very very addictive and it does something to me when i smell others wearing it !! ouh lala

  • PEPE LE PEW03/10/2005

It's sharp, clean, very orangy and strong. A good club cologne but I don;t recommend this for men over 30. Too loud and youthful. However it is a very good scent for the 20 somethings.

  • RANKINFRED12/05/2004

Agree w/Keith. This stuff is cloying and too citrus-y after a few minutes. Just want to wash it off my skin. I still have most of a free mini sample that I got with a travel kit.

  • ROB H.11/12/2004

This is not exactly the kind of cologne that a collector would include in his arsenal but one those kinds that is usually purchased by guys who wear maybe one or two colognes at a time. Good for regular everyday casual wear and just as good or maybe slightly better than Chemistry.

  • DAVID10/15/2004

I love the fragnance. It's my favorite. Especially what i like about it is that it is different from other men colonges. I love the citrus fragrance to it but the only downfall it it is that it doesn't last very long.

  • FRAGRANCE GURU09/22/2004

This is a nice smell, but it is way too overpowering, it gives me a headache. The dry down has a similar smell to the top notes and this makes it keep its consistency in smell. However, the shear strength of even the drydown ensures that a passerby can smell it from a mile away. Guys, you dont want this kind of attention; it is ust too strong.

  • THOMAS.Z.07/20/2004

The top note is very fruity and icy, working amazingly well in summer. The drydown is reminiscent of Acqua Di Gio but less musky. The only problem is that Happy lasts much shorter on me than GIO does. However, if you like the genre of GIO, you won't get wrong with this one!

  • DAVE07/16/2004

A very strange, dry note in it - just like Lancome Miracle

  • KING CHOOFER05/23/2004

This is probably one of the best daytime colognes you can get, its very fresh, and very nice smelling, lasts long, and looks great. Excelent all round product!

  • ERIC = O)04/18/2004

This is a great summer scent. It has a very distinctive citrus tang to it that smells very fresh and clean when it's on your skin. Of the several scents i own, i have received the most compliments for this one. The only downfall is the fact that it doesn't last very long. You could probably help its longevity by purchasing some other clinique happy products to use with it, since there are many. (deodorant, shower gel, etc.)

  • MARTIVS03/30/2004

This scent is fizzy and jazzy. Makes me fell really ... HAPPY!

  • TERRANCE B03/28/2004

actually the fragrance stayed on me for a good 10 hours!....I waited too long to get this fragrance!

  • TERRANCE B03/14/2004

I've heard alot of comments saying it dosen't last long.....unfortunately i haven't tried it for the whole day...I'll try it for a whole day and let you know later

  • I'M HUNG01/26/2004

The opening is nice, but after a while, it strangely smells like fish or oysters. It's incredibly weird. How can a citrusy scent like this start to smell like fishes? I've no clue, but a friend also commented by saying it had a horrible stench like that of decaying meat. But, all at the same time, it smells nice and fresh, like freshly peeled oranges. Very strange indeed.

  • W.B.01/20/2004

WHEN IT'S RAINING OUTSIDE ON A SATURDAY NIGHT AND YOU CAN'T GO CLUBBING BECAUSE YOUR BOYS CANCEL OUT DUE TO THE WEATHER, YOU LADY SIDLES UP TO YOU AND SAYS "DON'T WORRY; BE "HAPPY"!!!!!!!!

  • VIC01/15/2004

The fish man strikes again. Your verbal prowse just floors me. How will I keep up? Sheeesh. Nothing out of the ordinary with Happy, just pleasant orange, bright and very wearable

  • DANIEL12/16/2003

disappointed i bought it once and never again. Fresh but kind of fish smelling. I don t like that smell. Long lasting.

  • RALP[H11/30/2003

    BEST SMELL EVER

  • ROB11/27/2003

Happy for men is a nice fragrance. However, the smell does not stay on you very long.

  • TRUCK11/25/2003

    Excellent to get more girls

  • MIKE LEE10/23/2003

My second favorite scent to wear right after Acqua Di Gio!

  • TOBY10/01/2003

My girlfriend went CRAZY but after an hour or so, she said that the scent had faded. I don`t know... it may just be my skin or the fabrics I wear. This fragrance is excellent but doesn`t last long on me. I am actually looking for another cologne. Can anyone tell me what really DOES stay on for at least an hour and is not too woody smelling because I like aquatic fragrances.

  • LISA09/20/2003

WOW! I told my husband (then fiance) if he didn't want me to attack him constantly...better be careful wearing Happy for Men! Whenever I smell it- it's a definite turn on!!! Great job, Clinique!!!

  • MOZART08/21/2003

This cologne is probably some of the best I've ever smelled. It is very light and orangy and not too extreme. It works very well for sporty, daytime use, but is also refined enough for evenings. A must-have in my opinion. For a more grassy, and a bit darker fragrance, try Calvin Klein's "Crave."

  • MARTIN08/19/2003

Happy is a light citrus blend (compare to Crave) it's perfect for daily wear. I reccomend this scent highly

  • PIOTR08/18/2003

    Fantastic, really good.

  • ALEX FROM BRAZIL04/13/2003

Exquisite combination of scents. Smart, creative, fresh and light. Sadly I got to admit, way too light and short lived. The manufacturers have to work on its fixation properties.

  • NOIRWEST03/28/2003

At the counter this one conjured up images of summer lawns freshly cut with a push mower but my pal insisted. Smart girl, smells great after warming up on the skin, fresh & clean, rather short lived, though.

  • CRISTI03/17/2003

My boyfriend smells great when he wears this.

  • STEPHANIE H02/22/2003

    Happy on men is nice

  • EDDIE02/21/2003

Really nice citrusy beginning. I mean, I love it. I wish it had a bit more staying power.

  • CHARLES01/27/2003

Tried Happy today. A subtle, gentle scent--not at all chemical smelling. And it's lasting very well. I like Happy by Clinique!

  • KEITH01/26/2003

There are a lot of sweet, sugary smells that are okay at first, like the smell of cotton candy or bubblegum. But you wouldn't want to wear them all day long. That's how I feel about "Happy" : after the initial spray and a few minutes of wear, it starts to get sickening. Much too sweet and citrusy for my taste.

  • SUZIE12/18/2002

Super!!! It realy makes me happay. You guys, you should just try it once and watch for the female reactions

  • JAY12/17/2002

I love the scent. Women compliment me on it all the time. I'm not too wild about the musky colognes so Happy is perfect. Clean, citrusy, but noticably male. The problem... it fades so fast. I keep having to reapply throughout the day. A little more fragrance and a little less alcohol would be nice.

  • STEVIEDUDE12/15/2002

I LOVE the scent, but I find myself having to keep reapplying it because it seems to wear off quickly. Luckily it's one of the least expensive!

  • RICH10/10/2002

Too strong and smells precisely like...bug repellant! How much DEET in this stuff?? Jeez...peeyew!!

  • STEPHANIE10/08/2002

This is my favorite cologne on a guy, by far. I guess one reason I love it so much is because I wear Clinique Happy for women, it is my favorite fragrance. And the men's version is just as great. I kept trying to get my fiance to switch to this because then we would be wearing his and hers fragrances (how cute, huh? :D) and because I love the smell so much. His fav is Hugo Boss, but I don't think he has ever tried Happy or I know he would love it. I'm gonna buy him some for Christmas.

  • NATALYA 'EL MAKHLOUFI' BODROV09/23/2002

well I love this smell it's fresh and sweet at the same time most fragrances for men or either too strong or too fresh.This-one is just perfect! For a passionate man it would suit very well!

  • BRENDAN09/21/2002

This is one of the best citrus scents out there!!

  • INCUBUS09/18/2002

I've got 9 scents so far and this is the one I end up wearing most often. It's nice from the start to the drydown. A casual, everyday scent in the best sense of those words.

  • I AND I09/13/2002

This is a very casual scent. Great for dress down days and nights out in the bars. Women seem drawn to it (alot of what are you wearing comments). Worth trying out.

  • CHERYL07/22/2002

it's citrus and fruity smelling.. light and not overpowering. go easy on it and feel really refreshed and clean!

  • KEN06/23/2002

Nice and citrus, great for the summer, not overpowering unlike most other fragrances. 2 thumbs up!

  • RAM04/06/2002

Very fresh, light, and airy. Plan to test on girls--I'll let you know how it goes.

  • VIJAY02/15/2002

happy is my most favourite fruity and zest inducing scent.very refeshing ,and gives ou a sense of zest. nice is a good way to describe it,but not for a romantic dinner or intimate moments.

  • ERIC B.01/02/2002

I love it but it doesnt last long on me.

  • ~HIGGINS11/26/2001

Having three sons and of course a hubby, I am pleased when we all get in the van for church and the citrus, clean, fresh scent fills my van!! It is a wonderful cologne that must be tried!

  • MEGAN11/12/2001

I love the way that this smells on guys. Not too macho or overpowering.

  • MARK07/15/2001

I love Happy, and especially Citrus scent. But on a recent trip to Paris, I fell in love with Hermes Eau d'Orange Verte. It's a citrus scent with wonderful top notes, I've received more comments on this cologne than any other I own....and I own over a hundred! It's my absolute favorite scent...try it....it's here on this site.

  • XYZ07/01/2001

Not a bad smell, but its way too strong!! It gives me a headache- something lighter might have been better.

  • ANONYMOUSGUY03/19/2001

women may like the scent but I found it too citrusy...I returned it right away...

  • ANDREA 02/09/2001

Definitely a "happy" scent. Light, orangey and fresh.

  • AMBER01/09/2001

Yummie! My boyfriend bought a bottle of this fragrance just recently and I find him even more irresistable with it! Whenever I get the chance I keep on sniffing him (and of course he doesn't mind!). A very fresh smell that can even be a bit sporty, with a very original touch without being pushy or macho. Girls, buy this for his next birthday. It will not only make him happy, but you will enjoy it too!

  • PATRICK CORDOVA12/16/2000

A horrible fragrance, do not buy!

  • XOXO09/15/2000

Happy has a light citrus scent, and as corny as it may sound, really does make you feel happy when you spray it on. My energy level always goes up a couple notches when I put Happy on.
